Reviews for Chesterfield House
Review 1:Stayed for one night on way home from Leeds. The owners were very friendly, room was lovely and breakfast delicious. Hope to go back next year and stay for few days
Review 2:Nothing!
Review 3:Vil and Claudia are very friendly and helpful with good local knowledge of walks etc. They even offered to drive us into Bakewell when our lift didn't arrive on time. Lovely room with excellent shower. Great breakfast.
Review 4:We might have missed it but we did not realise it was cash payment only. It was no bother though; there's a cash machine down the road :-)
Review 5:This was a really lovely stay for me and my friend who was travelling from Australia. The owners were really lovely; very accommodating and the breakfasts were delicious! Lovely, lovely rooms with great facilities and very clean including a good selection of DVDs! We left our spare Pride & Prejudice for you :-) Great location. Will definitely visit again and recommend.
Review 6:Great location, close to Matlock and Bakewell as well as smaller nearby villages with a few great food-serving pubs nearby. Best of all, the welcoming and homely feeling of the property and specifically the incredibly accommodating owners was second to none! Would highly recommend if you're looking for a little escape from the world.
Review 7:None at all! It's a fantastic b & b - modern style, traditional welcome. Who could ask for more!
Review 8:The welcome and friendliness. The rooms - glorious. The breakfast - amazing.
Review 9:Our only problem was with skull cracker eaves in the garret suite. Sure we'd have got the hang of it if we'd spent another night.
Review 10:Welcoming and informative hosts, great facilities and breakfast, fascinating highline views from roof windows.
Review 11:Nothing - although the sloping roof of the attic room was a little awkward but thats what you get from a room with sloping roofs. We are quite tall and thought it charming.
Review 12:Beautifully furnished to a high standard. Immaculately clean. Super breakfast, super hosts.
Review 13:The room and facilities were of a really high quality and our welcome was very warm and friendly. The breakfast was of a good quality, plenty of it and delicious! We will definitely return if we're ever in this neck of the woods again :D
Review 14:Claudia and Bill could not have been friendlier. I'm A Derbyshire oatcake fan and my first act on arrival was to locate a local source and buy a sizeable number which Claudia very kindly stored for mein her frig. My undying gratitude was earned. The B&B is quite small but the rooms are comfortable and well equipped. An ideal centre for touring the Peak District
Review 15:Had to turn fridge of at night as was very loud , told them in the morning and they are getting it changed , apart from that 10 out of 10
Review 16:Lovely hosts , very clean place was made very welcome , rooms great breakfast fantastic and proper coffee , would definitely stay again
Review 17:Couldn't access the wifi properly but only stayed 1 night so didn't raise it as an issue
Review 18:Clean, comfortable, friendly owners, close to Matlock, lovely breakfast
Review 19:Chesterfield House is a beautiful place to stay. It's obvious that a lot of care has gone into how the rooms look. In the room there was always bottles of water in the mini fridge and fresh milk for making tea and coffee. The breakfast was lovely and we even got some advice on places to go nearby. Claudia and Vil were always happy to help and are genuinely lovely people. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you!
Review 20:Only thing - the mini fridge is loud so you can hear it when you're lying in bed.
Review 21:Claudia the owner was lovely, really friendly and welcoming. Couldn't do enough for us (even getting up early to do is breakfast at 7:30 as we had to leave early). The house was immaculately clean and spotless. Loft room was really nice, spacious and nicely decorated. Really comfy bed and nice shower. Mini fridge and mini milk bottle in the fridge was a nice touch along with wine/champagne glasses :) Breakfast was lovely too.
Review 22:The room was immaculate, there was a fridge with free water and fresh milk in it for the tea and coffee provided. Short walk to local pub/restaurant. Delicious breakfasts and good coffee. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.
Review 23:Everything, from the host's welcome to the quality of furniture, fittings and decoration. The standard of food for breakfast was very good, as were the biscuits in the room and the two free bottles of water replenished each day.
Review 24:The owners made me and my 2 year old daughter incredibly welcome even providing dinner on the spot when we arrived late no 5 star hotel could do better
Review 25:One of the best B&B's my girlfriend and I have stayed in, lovely hosts, modern and stylish decor, parking available on roadside, yummy big English breakfast (with choice of cereal, fruit, toast, full English and vegetarian options). Lot's to see and do in the area, we had a great time visiting the attractions in nearby Matlock Bath. Ste & Vics
Review 26:Waiting to check, but that was a mere oversight and was only minimal due to emails and clashes of general living. Made up for it in the stay!
Review 27:The location and the the owners were brilliant in all aspects
Review 28:We stayed for 2 nights and I can honestly say everything about the bed and breakfast was excellent couldn't fault a thing. Our accommodation was a converted loft which felt homely and private, decorated beautifully and very comfortable.Small extra's provided biscuits, tea ,coffee, hot chocolate and a real bottle of milk not UHT pots, fridge in the room.Very impressed with the friendliness of the owners, they provided two superb breakfasts wasn,t hungrey till teatime.A perfect place to stay for sightseeing in the peak district.Easy free parking outside accomodation.
Review 29:Parking is on-street which wasn't a problem when we stayed but may be a problem at a busy time of year. Also we felt £70 per night was a bit expensive.
Review 30:Location. Friendliness of owners. The fact that we could choose breakfast time and also that a vegetarian breakfast was provided. The room was warm, comfortable and very clean.
Review 31:Nothing
Review 32:We received a warm, friendly welcome. After a lovely wedding nearby we enjoyed a very peaceful night's sleep which was followed by a delicious breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble and we were even offered a lift to pick our car up in the morning. Would highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when we visit the Peak District again.
Review 33:Nothing. It was lovely
Review 34:Everything, especially the little things you normally get in a 4/5 star hotel, eg, fridge with fresh milk and bottled water, faceclothes, linen table napkins etc.
Review 35:The decor and rooms were superior, clean, comfortable and homely. Everything you could want was in the room with ample supplies of tea and coffee etc. Friendly owners who couldn't do enough to help. Excellent breakfast with a wide range of choice. Would definitely recommend it as a base for wxoring the sorrow ding areas
Review 36:Leaving!!
Review 37:We stayed in the suite and found it spotlessly clean, fully equipped, quiet and so very comfortable. Our hosts were attentive and caring but discreet in making sure we had time to enjoy the ambience when they were looking after us. Breakfast was substantial in size and of high quality, tailored to suit individual tastes. We didn't expect views of the countryside but got some great shots out of the window. A very convenient location to reach tourist attractions and well served with restaurants. We WOULD try to stay there again.
