Reviews for Hotel les Armoiries
Review 1:Loved staying on the plaza in this beautiful medieval city. The owner, and his assistant who helped during the daytime, could not have been more helpful suggesting restaurants and nearby places to visit.
Review 2:State of room, poor wifi , old sanitary, and little electricity points made the price / qualityof the family room not in balance.
Review 3:Location was perfect
Review 4:When confirmation was received. It stated balcony, iron amongst other things. The hotel doesn't have any balconies. Also booked a twin room. Was given a double. But was sorted next day
Review 5:The location and friendly, helpful staff.
Review 6:none
Review 7:Although only there for a one night stay because its location(30 mins from nice airport)we found the staff to be cheerful and very helpful in any way they could. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed extremely comfortable.Valbonne is a beautiful village and well worth a visit if in the area and i have no hesitation in saying that would not be dissapointed staying at this hotel.
Review 8:Free Parking is 2minutes away (make sure not to have a lot of luggages) but hotel has elevator!
Review 9:Location is very nice, Valbonne is quite central if you want to visit the french riviera and its nearbys. Service is friendly, breakfast is good and nice when on the Place of the village!
Review 10:Excellent hotel in the center of Valbonne. The hotel staff is extremely helpfull and kind and you are garanteed a wonderfull stay at this hotel. Very nice surroundings with a number of lovely restaurants with wonderfull authentic french food .
Review 11:Poor internet connection
Review 12:Very friendly staff, excellent location right on the village square, which comes alive in the evening, but without loud music, just good restaurants, and yet a very quiet room.
Review 13:The slanted ceilings in the rooms and bathroom on the third floor.
Review 14:Friendly staff and location was central and close to buses to nearby towns. A good selection if restaurants and stores. A/C units in the rooms.
Review 15:While the room has air conditioning, it only cools the room to a 'normal' European temperature. It would have been nice to have a fan to help cool us down as well as the outside temps were very high.
Review 16:Great location...right on the main square of a charming village. Reasonable drive from Nice Airport. There is a lot to see in the area and it's all easily walkable.
Review 17:Tremendous location in the uber charming village of Valbonne. Historic and perfectly decorated restored accommodations. Wifi worked well. Staff was eager to help and, in particular, Amelie in reception was a delight.
Review 18:Room tired, needs a refurbishment. Broken lamp base, cracked bidet etc.
Review 19:Staff helpful helpful and friendly.Great location directly on main square restaurants only a few feet from the main entrance.
Review 20:The heater in my room was coming off the wall. The colleague I was travelling with returned one evening to be told her room had been changed and all her things moved simply because she had requested a room with double bed when booking and one had now become available: she was not happy about this and particularly since she wasn't consulted first. The breakfast room is claustrophic when the roof-window is closed in poor weather.
Review 21:Superb location in heart of pretty little town, excellent restaurants and cafes on your doorstep, good breakfasts, friendly staff, character building, 3rd floor breakfast room is pleasant when the roof-window is open (in good weather). Good TV in room. Would consider booking here again.
Review 22:Sink was severely clogged by the 2nd day, yet the front desk was unaware of this. Housekeeping should have noticed this and notified the front desk to make an effort to unclog it. Front desk staff (1 person) does speak enough english to be considered english speaking.
Review 23:Room was spacious with pleasant decor. Relatively quiet. Location is perfect in the village Professional staff at front desk.
Review 24:Unless you arrive before midday you will have to carry luggage from the car park as square is closed to traffic later on.
Review 25:Friendly and efficient staff, good size room overlooking the square. Copious breakfast was served outside on the square - a real delight. A lovely old town to walk around with some super restaurants and cafes (avoid the middle one on the square though).
Review 26:nothing to say!!! everything was really nice!!!
Review 27:a romantic hotel, in the main square of this beautiful village Valbonne, the rooms spacious, clean, the public parking very near, WiFi, simple breakfast, good price, gentle staff, definitely worth a second visit!!!
Review 28:The hotel is in the heart of the village overlooking the square and so it is easy to walk everywhere within minutes. Everyone was very helpful and friendly, the rooms were comfortable and breakfast outside was wonderful!
Review 29:Our second stay at this lovely hotel in the wonderful little village of Valbonne. The location is a perfect start-point to a number of "must-see" places like Cannes, Antibes, Nice, Monaco and Saint Tropez.
Review 30:Small basic room
Review 31:Friendly staff, room very clean bedding & towels changed every day.
Review 32:Wifi was poor and shower not good for the type of hotel.
Review 33:location and the friendly staff were great.
Review 34:Fantastic And great staff
Review 35:Perfect little spot to relax
Review 36:Beautiful hotel in Valbonne village, very comfortable and friendly.
Review 37:location/atmosphere
Review 38:Facilities were a little tired, room price a little high for out of season.
Review 39:Friendly owner & staff, excellent location in Valbonne
Review 40:Parking issue.
Review 41:Staff was nice & helpful.
Review 42:Old building a little dusty.
Review 43:Really great staff (Richard was very helpful and kind) and great location.
Review 44:Nothing
Review 45:Location quaint little town free parking nearby and great choice of bars and restaurants
Review 46:The staff particularly Celine and Amelie were exceptionL. Nothing was too much trouble for them to do.
Review 47:Very willing staff
Review 48:Great breakfast. Excellent location
Review 49:Just the room needed an update
Review 50:The hotel location was perfect!
Review 51:Rooms could do with a slight refurbishment
Review 52:Great location, old traditional French hotel, friendly staff, lovely breakfast
Review 53:Accommodating friendly staff. Big bathroom.
Review 54:Beautiful location
Review 55:nothing
Review 56:lovely room, very friendly staff, comfortable, lovely view from windows over the town square
Review 57:The square is the center of life and that means all generations and pets! Great food. 21 eateries! We loved it. Do not park in the blue zones!
Review 58:The air con was broken which wasn't a huge issue as it wasn't too hot, but the hotel was quite noisy come morning.
Review 59:lovely room for breakfast and the staff were very pleasant
Review 60:Fabulous hotel in the center of town. We had a lovely corner room overlooking the square. Breakfast was great. Would definitely stay there again. Only 30 mins on bus to Antibes (fare: 1 euro).
Review 61:Beautiful village, been many times to stay with family. First time in hotel which is in the center square of Valbonne, very pretty hotel. Great location. Very friendly owners, very comfy bed! Didn't eat there as went to families, so can't say what meals are like, but would stay there again.
Review 62:Not a big problem, but guests need to be aware that luggage has to be brought through cobbled streets from a car park outside the old town.
Review 63:Great location, in an old building right in the centre of the extraordinary old town of Valbonne.
Review 64:Very small room, at the first day the waste basket was not emtied, water was running out the toilett and wettened the bathroom floor
Review 65:The hotel is directly at the center of the city (market place). Restaurants and bars and once a week there is a nice market.
Review 66:Parking in the week we were there was a nightmare, the circus was in town, there was a festival activity seemingly every day, chaos reigned in the car parks. Wifi in my room on the first floor kept dropping out, the same was not true in my friends room on the second floor.
Review 67:Loved the location in the middle of the village next to the square which is delightful and has a busy happy family vibe to it. The hotel itself is housed in a beautiful old building.
Review 68:No Shower as height restricted by sloping roof in the family room - managed with the shower head in the bath -
Review 69:Excellent location in the main square of Valbonne - room was quiet despite the atmosphere in the main square Air conditioned
Review 70:Nothing.
Review 71:This is the second time that I have stayed at this hotel in the past several years. It is a lovely little hotel right on the square in Valbonne Village. The rooms are well-appointed, the service is excellent, and the location is wonderful. I would absolutely stay again. Parking is also free in Valbonne Village, and is convenient to the hotel location.
Review 72:A bit old fashioned, and the bathroom not all that clean. Noisy on Friday morning from around 6.30am as the market was being set up in the square.
Review 73:Situation in the square was very good, and all the staff were very nice and helpful.
Review 74:the bathroom which was large had a large bath tucked under the eaves which made it impossible to stand up for a shower. not good for those with mobility issues -getting in and out of it
Review 75:very centrally located in the village. Lovely staff- very helpful. Comfortable and friendly. The Friday market was buzzing with activity
Review 76:Room had very dark furnishings and few lights. Thought it was over-priced for the value.
Review 77:Breakfast was very good, and reception staff were very helpful.
Review 78:Not enough storage for smaller items of clothing - pullovers, socks, ties etc. Needs a chest of drawers.
Review 79:The hotel is in an old, tastefully restored building and is centrally placed in the charming village of Valbonne - it features on postcards of the village. The rooms are a decent size and are not luxurious but reasonably well equipped and tastefully decorated. The staff are very friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble for them to make visitors welcome and to assist them in any way possible.
Review 80:The room was small but the bathroom was smaller with a pull across door that didn't close. The shower has a curtain which is not good but there was plenty of hot water.
Review 81:The location of the hotel is spot on, right in the middle of the ancient square, surrounded by restaurants & quaint shops. Would highly recommend the Auberge opposite for dinner, great food, great service & lovely surroundings. Also, the restaurant Garden Les Arcs in the square has excellent food & service. Even though on the square we had a very quiet room. The hotel staff were very helpful & friendly particularly Agnes.
Review 82:Friendly and helpful staff, hotel that was an excellant position for our requirements, comfortable and a great breakfast to start the day. Thank you Hotel les Armoiries!
Review 83:There are no public rooms as such so there's nowhere to sit and have a coffee. The shower in my room was difficult to adjust.
Review 84:The location in the centre of Valbonne is very atmospheric and close to all the bars and restaurants. The staff are all multilingual and very friendly. The room (espcially the bathroom) I had was compact but clean and warm (in the winter) and with good WiFi. Breakfast was good.
Review 85:All was really fine!
Review 86:- The Hotell personell - Fabolous atmosphere ... a 400 year old mansion in excellent condition! ... If those walls could speak! - Induvidually decorated rooms - Generally very neat and clean - Beautiful location, right at the town square - Very good breakfast - fresh fruit sallad, various fresh breads, etc, etc - Many good reataurants nearby - Very helpful people arranging taxi, bus timetables, restaurant advice, etc I definitely plan to come back within a couple of years!
Review 87:Nothing really. Both of us enjoyed the stay very much
Review 88:This is the perfect place to stay for anyone looking for a pleasant get away in southern France. The hotel is nicely located at the main square of this charming little village with nice restaurants and good food less than 50 meters from the hotel. Valbonne is nicely located and close to Grasse, Nice and Cannes and not to forget good golf courses. Access from Nice airport is very convenient. Many thanks to the staff of the hotel for a very pleasant stay and for helping us experiencing a wonderful weekend in this area, which turned out to have a lot to offer.
Review 89:Furnitures, bed, bathroom are the worst I have ever seen in Europe. Price is like 5 star hotel, Even the quality dosnot deserve to have 1 star.
Review 90:Management is very gentle.
Review 91:hotel is in the middle of the city centre, which is great. itis clean and tidy. Richard the owner is great helper. go to Valbonne and stay in hotel les armoiries. definitelly you will enjoy
Review 92:this hotel to us was an absolute gem-----we are world travelers and know how to adjust to local climes,--but this was and will always be up there among'st the best--the room was just so perfect---overlooking the town square,--so pecefull for B/fast outside,in the early morning sun.----then to go away for the day to cannes--st; tropaze---nice---and of course monti carlo-- then to return to valbonne and the hotel, and all the restaurants around the cental hub of this "village"--A perfect end to any peffect day.
Review 93:Rooms are small.
Review 94:The staff were great, they were very helpful and attentive. Our stay was certainly enhanced through their efforts. The room was clean and in the middle of town. The hotel has more character than a Hollywood movie.
Review 95:Nothing bad.
Review 96:Great location, we had a hire car, public park can get busy but you can find a park. Hotel is smack in the middle of the town centre, great staff great room, not luxurious but roomy enough and homely feel. Great spot
Review 97:The hotel room was ok but I paid extra for a balcony through you andthere are no rooms in the hotel with a balcony. Can you please let meknow about this and reply back to me
Review 98:Its location is right in the centre of the village
Review 99:What a wonderful location - you open your windows and you are looking at the square that is vibrant with energy as people are eating, drinking and socializing. The square is surrounded by several adorable shops on small streets. No cars - totally walkable. Loved it for a weekend.
Review 100:The staff was very friendly, the hotel has an excellent location at thesquare of the old village, and the beakfast was very good with more thanenough food. To sum up: a cozy hotel
Review 101:Can't find a bad thing to say about the hotel - except maybe the wifi has trouble getting through the ancient stone walls sometimes. That's about the only negative thing I can say.
Review 102:I stay at les Amoiries every year in May and it's like a home away from home. Richard, who runs the place, could not be more welcoming. The hotel overlooks the beautiful village square, and two times a week there's a market outside the hotel's front door. The rooms are nicely decorated, and there's free wifi. The beds are very comfortable. But what makes the place special, apart from the central location in the middle of the village, is the friendliness of Richard and his staff.
Review 103:This is a lovely friendly historic (built 1628) beautiful basic-but-with-absolutely-everything-you-need village hotel at the heart of lovely Valbonne. Highly recommended. Ideal as a base for touring nearby picturesque Alps-Maritimes towns & villages, or Cannes, Antibes, Nice, etc. then returning to eat at one of the restaurants in the surrounding streets literally a few steps away from the hotel. Being at the heart of the village, you can hear the buzz of the local cafés until nearly midnight, but it isn't a problem.
Review 104:Without considering the alternatives in the general location, I felt our room a little expensive. However, I would stay here again.
Review 105:Valbonne is a charming village. The age of the buildings is reflected in the style of the hotel and its rooms. Ours (a standard double) was small but comfortable. There are several very fine and reasonably prices restaurants within a 5 minute walk of Les Amoiries.
Review 106:The breakfasts were sufficient but the lack of choice - no cookedselection - could become tedious if you were staying for a week or more.
Review 107:Location, location! Ideally placed in the centre of the town adjacent tothe main square, the rooms (we had a deluxe and a standard) were cleanand comfortable and quiet at night. The staff were kind and veryhelpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfasts werequite large and the coffee was excellent despite a lack of choice (seebelow). Overall a great place to stay and explore the area.
Review 108:I like the historic building and is in walking distance of where my sonlives in Valbonne. As it was a special occasion my son did not have roomto accomodate too many people therefore the need for the hotel room. Itis very friendly and accomodating, and is the second time I have used itand will do so again in the future.
Review 109:Rooms were overpriced for size and facilities, compensated by position of hotel in centre of town
Review 110:Staff friendly, multilingual, service excellent.
Review 111:The location and very friendly staff. Valbonne also has a good variety of restaurants and services.
Review 112:very nice friendly helpful polite staff.good breakfast option.all good
Review 113:a nice hotel, good location, interesting and typical French equipment rooms, a pleasant stay
Review 114:Location Friendly staff
Review 115:Cozy atmosphere and very nice staff!
Review 116:Needs seriously updated
Review 117:Location
Review 118:Terrible wifi.
Review 119:Location, very helpful staff & building itself.
Review 120:room quite small esp. the bathroom; expensive
Review 121:great staff, charming design, central location, interesting city
