Reviews for Hotel La Chaudanne
Review 1:nothing, although a suggestion: with Meribel being Little England in the Alps I would have assume there would be more uk tv channels available, only BBC 1/2 Scotland BBC World
Review 2:lovely staff, great location, comfortable hotel with a cosy alpine feel, good food and service.
Review 3:Light out in steam room, jacuzzi chair not working & used towels left scattered around spa area. No attendant tidying up
Review 4:Staff & service very good
Review 5:Small room. Parking charges of 30 EUR/day.
Review 6:Great socation. Staff going beyond the standard. Storage of ski equipment. Fantastic breakfast. Confortable sauna, hammam and pool facilities. Recently renovated. Complementary bottle of water.
Review 7:Wifi signal was weak and v slow at times
Review 8:Excellent location for the slopes, comfortable, clean, stylish rooms, and v good facilities. Excellent breakfast and attentive staff. Would defo come again (as long as I was feeling a bit flush with cash!)
Review 9:Staff were extremely helpful especially the concierge and the staff in the Chaudanne ski shop dealing with rentals were fantastically helpful. Great Venue and great ambience
Review 10:a bit stuffy for our liking, but that's because we prefer the more relaxed family type of place. If you like the 4* experience, you'll get it here!
Review 11:the location is the best in Meribel, as close to the main lifts as you can get. Chaudanne Sport for ski-hire EXEMPLARY!!
Review 12:I was offered an on street parking place if I could get one or pay 10€for the underground carpark. Since there was an event on that weekend,on street parking wasbanned by the local Police. In the undergroundcarpark the only space available was in the empty bike parking so I leftmy vehicle there. I was asked to vacate this space the following dayonly to find it being used by someone else 5 minutes later, meanwhilethe foyer of the hotel had 5 bicycles in...DOUBLE Standards!!! On theSaturday morning, the staff were unable to cope with the demands of abusy breakfast room....POOR Organisation
Review 13:The room was well equipped and initial meetings with staff were friendlyand pleasant. Comfortable bed, well furnished bathroom and a bath longenough for me to stretch out in..not to common for a 6 footer. We had afamily room for 4 to use as a couple so plenty of space to spread out.Breakfasts (15€ a day) were served in a spacious dining room with alarge variety of continental options available..
Review 14:The staff (evening shift) was not nice, many times ask whether i book the correct hotel or not and her smile was fake. Also ask for "the real credit card" (mine is prepaid credit card) which is annoying
Review 15:Very nice room though it's small for 4stars hotel. Breakfast is OK. Friendly receptionist (morning shift).
Review 16:There wasn't really anything to dislike.
Review 17:The pool has always caught our eye, so when in town for the MTB World Cup we took it as our chance to visit. The kids loved the pool. The staff where excellent. The room was lovely. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
Review 18:The price was a lttle steep in that it was almost twice the price for a triple room rather than a double.
Review 19:Friendliness and excellent service. Perfectly accommodating of our young puppy. Fantastic location for World Cup event. Delicious breakfast!
Review 20:Service was amazing
Review 21:Great location Helpful friendly staff Lovely rooms and overall decor
Review 22:very snobbish.
Review 23:Room what slightly on the small side.
Review 24:Nothing
Review 25:The location is superb, the staff are extremely professional and helpful, the facilities are excellent and the breakfast is fabulous
Review 26:Leaving
Review 27:It has every thin you need It has 2 swiming pools Sauna steam room and spa
Review 28:No shower screen or curtain for shower over bath. Beds narrow and room small.
Review 29:Superb staff. Nothing too much trouble.
Review 30:Everything
Review 31:The room was horrendously tiny, it was barely big enough to even stand up let alone unpack a bag and stay for more than a night. I am 6'4 and I found this so uncomfortable - for the money I would have expected more. it was a joke. No availability meant that no room change was possible during the stay. These rooms should be considered for small children only.
Review 32:The staff were friendly, the location is great and everything was as expected apart from the room which was booked.
Review 33:The air extractor from the bathroom worked in reverse filling the room with cooking odors from the kitchen. €20 for a G&T in the bar was a little OTT although the drink itself was excellent.
Review 34:Our room was small but we were up-graded to a very nice one following problems with cooking odors coming into the bedroom. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was generally very pleasing.
Review 35:Staff at breakfast very disinterested and inattentive. Chamber maid service not great - room never tidied up decently eg used glasses left, no general tidying up.
Review 36:Great loacation and very nice rooms.
Review 37:My only small niggle were the beds were quite short if I had been a man over 6" rather than petite 5"3 lady they may have been a little more of an issue
Review 38:Hotel and staff were excellent it was in a great location and would definitely consider booking again
Review 39:Not very child friendly in restaurant ,communication a problem in restaurant and bar. Waiters in morning did not know how to make a tray of breakfast tea and continually brought teapots of hot water ,no set standards or check lists for room service or housekeeping . sometimes no towels othertimes extra towels ,mini bar not restocked with water. very disappointing considering the cost of the holiday ,more 3 star than 4 .
Review 40:Exellent location to lifts and facilities.
Review 41:Outside pool and jaccuzi not practically accessible
Review 42:Friendly staff and impressive housekeepers. Very practical ski rental shop and direct access to slopes. Incredible spa treatments.
Review 43:Not much.
Review 44:The location is in the village and a couple of minutes walk to the slopes. Very much appreciated. The staff is very helpful. Though can't get access to the room before 4pm, we could shower and change at our arrival. Rich breakfast.
Review 45:Rooms on the small side. Great shower but No bath, in a Junoir Suite, would have liked both. Outside pool and sauna etc, very exposed to passers-by in the middle of a shopping/ pedestrian area, so very uninviting. Saw nobody using this facility while we were there.
Review 46:The staff were very helpful and the hotel was very comfortable in a great location. Our Junior suite was comfortable though small by UK standards, similarly our daughters superior twin room was very small. Breakfast was lovely with alot to chose from and suiting varied tastes. Lounge and restaurant both excellent. I would visit again.
Review 47:The hot tub/jacuzzi (whatever you want to call it) wasn't hot. I like a nice hot jacuzzi after a day of skiing but it wasn't hot enought to sit in and enjoy.
Review 48:The staff were very helpful and friendly. Pool, suana, hot tub and steam room facilites were nice (except one thing in the next comment). Good location to other bars and restuarants and not a bad walk to the lifts - maybe 5-7 minutes. The ski shop Chaudanne Sports, just across the street, were super friendly and helpful. Even helped my wife putting on and taking off her boots each day. Boots that had been dried and warmed by them overnight. Can't say enough about their service.
Review 49:Slightly expensive.
Review 50:Helpful staff, nice room with balcony, warm, comfortable. Great breakfast. central location
Review 51:Unusual not to be able to make tea in one's room.
Review 52:A little bit expensive for what you got.
Review 53:Location was brilliant.
Review 54:Room size was disappointing.
Review 55:Most things.
Review 56:perpetually re logging in to the Wi-Fi The wait in the ski shop to get boots and skis - no storage in hotel
Review 57:Staff
Review 58:Pretty Pricey
Review 59:Brilliant Location
Review 60:Excellent location Amazing swimming pool Jacuzzi Sumptuous Lounge Spacious room Balcony
Review 61:very small and unconfortable bathroom, too small room
Review 62:calmness, cleanness, kindness of staff, central position, design and furnitures of lobby
Review 63:The staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
Review 64:Small rooms, Internet was very slow
Review 65:Staff, breakfast, services
Review 66:Our room had no view at all. Pretty expensive for a very average room.
Review 67:Great location for ski lifts and central Meribel
