Reviews for Hôtel Aletti Palace
Review 1:-Aircondition did not work properly. Too warm in my room every evening. Hard to sleep. They said they would look at it, but nothing happened. -No minibar! Nowhere to put cold water or keep things cold. It did say -Noisy generator of some sort(for the ineffective aircon?)outside. -Looks a bit worn down. Needs paint here and there. -Breakfast quality for 15eu was below what you expect for 4star hotel -Price does not match hotel
Review 2:Beautiful hotel. Stylish. Best location in town.
Review 3:The bed was small and the breakfast was expensive. We chose to eat in town for half the price.
Review 4:We liked the old fashioned feel of the hotel. It was like being taken back in time. We also liked the pool area.
Review 5:Breakfast not included in the price, the pool was too cold for my young children despite the 35c heat. Wifi was good but a little tricky to get working in the first instance. The hotel is a little bit tired but not out of the ordinary.
Review 6:Great location and lovely staff. Front line staff on reception should be congratulated for a friendly welcome and excellent service. Huge rooms.
Review 7:Efficient and friendly staff. Very quick check in/out. Very good location. The room we had (junior suite) was very spacious and the bed very large and confortable. The air cond was working very well. Quiet room. There is "cheap" car park close to the hotel.
Review 8:The breakfast buffet was a bit to expensive, 15 euro.
Review 9:A classical hotel in the middle of Vichy. Even if the hotel dont have a parking did they allowed me to have my motorcykle in their courtyard during the night.
Review 10:I think that this hotel was nice when it was originally build, that's about 50 years ago. The carpet was full of stains, the paint above the AC was burned and full of stains. The shower was making a lot of noise so as soon as the room next to you is showering you are bothered so awaken. Only one elevator for seven floors, Wifi not working, TV not working, and the list goes on and on... I don't know where they got the 4 stars rating from.
Review 11:The only good thing about this hotel is it's location.
Review 12:Pleasant terrace restaurant overlooking the pool, but evening meal was rather disappointing. We weren't tempted by the €15 breakfast.
Review 13:Great location, close to centre of Vichy which is a very attractive city. It's a big hotel which exudes faded elegance - magnificent entrance hall and staircase. We upgraded to a superior room which was enormous.
Review 14:The staff were fantastic! This was 'Old School' service where people remember your name! We called to say we were arriving late from Paris and they kept the restaurant open for us! Rooms are very big and comfortable. Building may seem dated but this was a Palace some years ago. If you need anything, find Jean Marc (Juan Marco), he would be in my 'all time' hoteliers list!
Review 15:Not that I didn't like it but this hotel has an amazing history. They need to exploit it more.
Review 16:Lovely staff on reception and in kitchen. Most notably Kristina and Marvin. Wonderful architecture. Super. Location.
Review 17:On another night, our stay would have been great, but on this occaision, there was so much noise from a disco. Not sure where it was comming from, adjacent property or hotel's function room. Wen on until the very early hours.
Review 18:Large room, great value, really charming and elgant.
Review 19:The bed was too small and the bathroom looked a bit tired , old but clean.
Review 20:Could do with an update or better maintenance . Old nice style hotel in a nice villa.
Review 21:Breakfast at the hotel is expensive in comparison to nipping out to a local boulangerie and buying your own very tasty breakfast.
Review 22:The adjoining room for the children was great. We had plenty of space and spent two very comfortable days at this hotel. The location was very central.
Review 23:We checked in and after a long drive needed a late afternoon sleep- the room next door had a dog which was a little yappy dog which did not stop for almost an hour. This was mentioned to the reception and they asked if we wanted to change room- obviously dogs take precedence over patrons, this meant yet more sleep lost later with dog barking for another hour from 10-11pm!!!!!!! The breakfast was poor and made even worse as there were also 2 dogs in the breakfast room and as expected a dog hair found in the food which ended the breakfast immediately- do not visit unless you really like dogs
Review 24:The room was large, location was brilliant as last remaining hotel bordering the park and the staff were fluent in English
Review 25:Aletti Palace is a grand old hotel in need of an expensive refurb but that doesn't take away from the fact that it is clean, comfortable and the staff are lovely and the food is good. shabby but chic! Great VFM.
Review 26:If you are afraid of spiders it is defenately not the best place to stay; noisy piping; old-fashioned style
Review 27:Enormous, clean and light room, very comfortable beds, nice breakfast
Review 28:Fine design of public spaces, excellent small suite, as comfortable as could be. Excellent staff.
Review 29:grand hotel in the old style and parking right outside the door.
Review 30:restaurant so busy one evening they could not cope.
Review 31:historic building and setting
Review 32:Hotel always so empty of guests, other than noisy conferences
Review 33:Excellent junior suite, very reasonable lunch, good place to meet friends
Review 34:- I ordered a room with a double bed, but found two twin beds put together - no Wi-Fi because of some "technical issues"
Review 35:Position of hotel was perfect. Staff very friendly
Review 36:No double bed but two beds put together....not the most confortable for a couple.
Review 37:Great building, friendly staff.
Review 38:Older style rooms
Review 39:The location is great!
Review 40:Staff extremely pleasant and helpf. Loved the courtyard restaurant beside the bar. Food was simple but excellent
Review 41:While it has the charm of the past it is also just a bit old ..... Un peu fané
Review 42:Location and view
Review 43:Old hotel. Need renovation. Very few clients at that tome of year
Review 44:Location
Review 45:Breakfast rather expensive.
Review 46:Spacious inter-connecting family rooms.
Review 47:Valerie the lady at the desk, the decor
Review 48:only 1 lift (which took ages) Equipment and decor was a bit old
Review 49:Staff were excellent and very efficient Hotel was clean and comfy good location
Review 50:Nothing
Review 51:Room condition, breakfast, location was good.
Review 52:Some rooms could profit from some maintenance to make it perfect, e.g. toilet door doesn't close correctly, shower fixation broken, almost black ceiling above HVAC outlet. Only small things that could be easily fixed.
Review 53:Nice hotel, good location, very friendly and helpful staff at the reception to arrange bookings and rooms. Private space for motorbikes. Breakfast buffet above the french average.
Review 54:The food was a little pricey which meant we had to eat out as a family. The breakfast was excellent but still very pricey. It would be more cost effective and better value for money if children could eat free with paying adults.
Review 55:The staff were superb; friendly, accommodating, welcoming and provided excellent advice on the area.
Review 56:- Swimming pool was not warmed up, as opposed to the description of the hotel prior to the reservation. This was a main consideration in choosing the hotel. We were told that there was a technical issue. This is not a satisfying excuse. We were very disappointed. - Bed at room 309 was not suitable for adults (too soft), as opposed to room 311 which was fine. - Breakfast way-to-expensive when considering a family (about 46 euros per breakfast per day is too expensive)
Review 57:- Maintained old-style Decor - Hotel Restaurant - Spacy rooms and lobby - Location
Review 58:breakfast not included! and the key system is diabolical, and we were not the only ones complaining - the staff having to deal with perpetual complaints didn't like it either - that was the biggest downside!
Review 59:staff were exceptionally terrific, and food at hotel reasonably priced and superb - best we had in vichy as a matter of fact
Review 60:Tv in room didn't work and couldn't be fixed. Wifi was patchy and seemed to drop out a lot.
Review 61:Very grand setting in an ideal location. Breakfast was very good. Pool was a nice bonus and staff were very helpful and friendly.
Review 62:Sometimes the bar was not attended and we had to look for the barkeeper. Breakfast is (too) expensive for the quality and variety provided.
Review 63:A good hotel, with nice and big rooms with in our case connecting doors. Interior is not completely up to date, but that is part of the charm of this hotel. Staff is excellent, all speak English. Diner was fine.
Review 64:This hotel is tired. While once beautiful from a bygone era, it is in need of refurbishment. The carpets are old and stained at edges, there were no non-feather pillows available, the bed was soft and the linens very dated. While rated four star, it is not at that standard.
Review 65:Excellent location across from the Palais de Congres.
Review 66:It is a tired hotel. It was virtually empty. The room with the bar was dark . It is an hotel from an age which has passed. It is of interest if you want to sample that age.
Review 67:The staff were pleasant. The bedroom was spacious and clean. The bathroom was excellent. The cuisine was of an high standard and the breakfast was value for money.
Review 68:Atmospheric old hotel in good central location. Comfortable room with views over the park and Opera. The meal that we had in the attached hotel restaurant 'La Veranda' was good, and reasonable value for money.
Review 69:We had an appalling experience when we arrived which just went on and on. My husband had asked for a particularily good room when he booked as it was our wedding anniversary. When we went to our room it was occupied, the bed was in an awful mess there were bottles all over the table and shoes and clothes over the floor. We told reception who gave us keys for another room. That had only been partially cleaned there were dirty towels in the bath, the toilet was dirty, the bed although it had been made was out in the middle of the room. I was now almost in tears as we had been travelling a long time and we were both tired and wanting to relax and enjoy our anniversary. Reception sent us to our third room and that was fine. Apart from the upset and having to go up and down to the reception, the only recompense we received were two free drinks at the bar which we had had the night before, which came to 10 euros. We thought that the whole situation was dealt with very badly and we should either have been upgraded or had money taken off our bill
Review 70:The position of the hotel was excellent and we had good views over the park and opera house. The bedrooms were lovely and big and the views from the bedroom were good. There was nice bar with a patio area outside which was good.
Review 71:Loved the Belle Epoque of the place. Well placed in centre of Vichy. Good value would go back
Review 72:needs renovation no minibar, no clim as promised
Review 73:We had a calm, very large and well-equipped room and also a spacious bath room. Loved the bel -epoque style of the house.
Review 74:1920's era building
Review 75:Decoration, old style, but very relaxing Swimming pool Plancha party on Friday and Saturday night
Review 76:Good do with a refurbishment !
Review 77:Spacious rooms Good location
Review 78:Service could have been better. Little bit tired.
Review 79:Lovely hotel that time forgot
Review 80:Old and decrepit, very dirty on the outside
Review 81:I liked the location
Review 82:No views. Very difficult to communicate with staff. Ugly art work. Website did not reflect reality
Review 83:Clean and new
