Reviews for Hôtel Graffalgar

Review 1:It will be nice to have a small fridge for the hot summer and an electric kettle for the cold winter nights.

Review 2:Excellent location. 3 min walking distance from the bus/train station. Lovely staff. Very fast internet connection. Huge room, amazing decoration. Walking distance to all amazing places in beautiful Strasbourg. Merci beaucoup!!!

Review 3:The overall style is just great. The mix of street art with an open alternative air together with really nice and clean rooms is a great concept. It is like sleeping inside a piece of art!

Review 4:Not in the cleanest neighbourhood, but an easy walk to the old town. Room was cleaned even with the do not disturb sign out (this seemed to be a common trend in France, so I recommend letting reception know if you do not want your room entered while you are out).

Review 5:Modern, very clean rooms. Very close to the train station and the old town.

Review 6:Other than the location, the kind staff, and the clean rooms, the design is so beautiful that it makes the hotel seem like a new monument of the city.

Review 7:Poor and essential service, the private park is a public park at 200m. No armchair in the room! The room was for 4 people but one bedroom was cold and the warmer stopped.

Review 8:The staff very gentle, position close to the center of the city. Economic structure but "cool" for the artistic wall. Perfect for shorter staying.

Review 9:There was not house shoes, room service. I had experience inconvenience about that noises in the street.

Review 10:Staff is really kind. Located also wad really good(near by train station). Clean room, size is suitable.

Review 11:Good location, close to the train station and nearby the center of city. the parking lot is at 3mins walking distance away from hotel (central public parking). Hotel sell the parking daily ticket much cheaper than you buy it by yourselves.

Review 12:The room was a good size and well fitted out. Everything was in good repair and was stylish. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was very good near to nice tourist area and also transport links. Very good value for our family and we definitely felt we would book again in the future.

Review 13:Each room has it's own artwork. Kind of a neat idea, with mural-type painting. One of our two rooms was a little on the racy side, the other one was fine. Being downtown, it was fairly noisy almost all night--just normal city noise, cars, trash pickup, people outside.

Review 14:Very convient to old town in Strasbourg. Could easily walk from hotel to see much of the historic area. Rooms were spacious (especially by European hotel standards!). Helpful front desk staff.

Review 15:A workman walked right into the room I was staying in. Also, the artwork in the room did not make me feel comfortable.

Review 16:Great location, friendly staff, good food, great furniture choices.

Review 17:Perfect for travellers who need easy access to the train station. A short walk to the main sights - a bit dodgy at night. This hotel is exceptionally clean The room was spacious and well equipped for a group of three.

Review 18:Hotel was under construction as they are expanding, it was a bit loud, which was to be expected.

Review 19:Wonderful and interesting hotel, amazing artwork, helpful staff, very close to main train station and a short walk to attractions in Strasbourg.

Review 20:I missed small wardrobe, it would be useful.

Review 21:Kind personnel, very precise information on Trams in Strasbourg. Excellent bed. Good breakfast. Nice designs.

Review 22:One towel was dirty - this you don't expect in this hotel class. The breakfast was also a bit poorer than what I expected, definitely not value for money considering the 8 euros it costed.

Review 23:Very nice trendy hotel, and the position is an asset. Just a few blocks away from the train station, and within walking distance of the centre (including the Cathedral). The tram is just round the corner

Review 24:Never really had much contact with staff. They gave us the code to thefront door by email and left the key on the desk, no problem.

Review 25:Clean modern stark. Art work gives it a great feel to anotherwise barenroom. Comfortable beds. Easy to get to. Parking limited great if you aretraveling by train.

Review 26:I had to reconnect the wifi every time i wanna use it. It should automatically reconnect.

Review 27:Good location as it's near the train station (5 minutes) and 10 minutes walk to the city center. Staffs were very nice. We were satisfied with the room's space, design and facility.

Review 28:some noise from the street outside.

Review 29:The room and bathroom were very very clean. Staff are friendly and speak English. Good mattress-- slept comfortably.

Review 30:No air conditioning and it was hot. The bathroom had no shower doors or curtains so it was wet everywhere. Very basic.

Review 31:Location was good, breakfast was good, rates were reasonable

Review 32:Very loud banging noise in the evening and morning - not sure if this is a regular occurence. Wifi was slow, and did not work all the time.

Review 33:Great location next to station but without noise of trains or traffic, lovely breakfast, fun and unusual decor, perfect for short stay. Would come back.

Review 34:The only thing we didn't like was the wifi: the speed was ok, but it kept kicking you out very often, and you needed to log in every time when it did

Review 35:Great little hotel, convenient (but quiet) location whether arriving by train or car (they have an agreement at a public garage 2' from the hotel for 10 euro per day). Walk to everything in 5-15'. Really, really cool design of the rooms and common areas, decent breakfast with yogurt, cereal, fruit, cheese and ham. Friendly receptionist, very clean, everything looked new

Review 36:There isn't much that I could say that I didn't like.

Review 37:I liked my room and private bathroom (definitely essential). It's a very unique place, thus I appreciated the artistique look. On the other hand, the staff were very friendly, it's in a convenient place- near shops, a 15 minute to petite France, etc.

Review 38:The only thing was the street had some strange people around but that is pretty normal around the train station in pretty much any city!

Review 39:Very comfortable and clean room. The girl at the reception was very friendly and welcoming. The location for what I was looking for was perfect, it's a two minute walk from the station and from the Frankfurt airport shuttle, and right down the street from the tram. Breakfast was good, no hot food but good bread, jam, yogurt, etc.

Review 40:Rooms are awesomely decorated. Each one is unique, made by some artist. We got the room at the top floor with the attic. So it was nice view, though through pretty small windows. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We were late and they cared for us to get in, as reception is closed at 9pm. The parking was pretty convenient: they provide an access tickets for the train station parking (if I get it right) which is less than 1 minute walk.

Review 41:No aircon, altho' fan provided - a valiant but quixotic effort my fanny friend.

Review 42:Who doesn't like a bit of polished concrete? Good fun, lovely people, handy garage. Bit out of the ordinary.

Review 43:No air conditioning in the room. My flight was at 17.00 so i checked out at 10.00 but after having checked out they said they couldn't keep my suitcase there. All day around with an heavy suitcase with me.

Review 44:The location is good.

Review 45:You have to pay 8€ per person for the breakfast, definitely too much. The hotel is beside the station and so the quarter is not the most quiet (and safe) one during the night.

Review 46:The hotel is new and uniquely decorated, located really near to the centre and the station and, if you have the car, there is an affiliate parking just behind the corner (for 10€). The beds are really comfortable, the bathroom is huge and the wifi is perfect. The staff was really kind and willing. The prices are really good!

Review 47:Nothing!!!

Review 48:The young lady at the reception was perfect. She helped us with advice, information about where to go and useful tips. Strasbourg is anyway veeeery beautiful and this hotel can complete the great picture of your trip!!

Review 49:If you use the parking option, be VERY clear as to which parking garage they are referring to (use the address). The location to things was excellent, the neighborhood itself was a bit marginal and I wouldn't recommend it to a solo woman traveler.

Review 50:The art visuals were fantastic, but take time to request specific rooms. Some had small photographic murals while others showcased impressive art work so some rooms were more spectacular.

Review 51:Todo es excelente. El hotel es hermoso, las habitaciones son lindisimas, es muy limpio, el dueño es muy amable y esta muy bien situado. Volvere la proxima vez que visite esta hermosa ciudad.

Review 52:No check-in available on sunday afternoon!! I checked-out on sunday morning and asked if they could keep my luggage for a few hours, my request was denied because there is no staff at all on sunday afternoon. Anyway, they arranged a plan B to help me.

Review 53:We didn't take breakfast because it was too expensive for what they offered.

Review 54:The room was spacious and very well maintained, in fact the hotel looks almost new. I personally didn't like a lot the decor, but I admit they made an effort to make it different and it may please other people.

Review 55:in room 201, the wifi connection was interrupted all the time, about every 2 minutes. staff could not be bothered to help after the reception desk had closed (9pm). very noisy room as well, facing the street (garbage collection at 6am)

Review 56:no-frills hotel, cheap compared to other bad hotels in strasbourg

Review 57:Parking is, as often in Strasburg, difficult, but there is a public parking close by. Attention: reception closes at 21.00, can be challenging for late check ins.

Review 58:The unique graffiti design of each room including reception/breakfast area makes this a special experience.

Review 59:- Wi-Fi works fine, but had to type in long password every time I've started laptop

Review 60:- Nice location - Clean and well decorated rooms - Friendly staff

Review 61:Shower drainage was blocked during our stay, very big bathroom but no stands or place to put towels, clothes, toiletries.

Review 62:Clean rooms and helpful receptionists, conveniently located near the train station, close to the city central, particularly petite France.

Review 63:Something passing by the nearby streets 5am, and boy, that was noisy! And the thing just kept coming and going! I hope it was just that day. It is a relatively small hotel and there is no staff working at the evenings (at least not for the weekends). We didn't have any inconvenience because of this, just to let you know what to expect.

Review 64:The wall painting (graffiti). The warship theme. We have 2 young boys, and they just love it. Bathroom is simple but clean.

Review 65:Cleanliness is next to Godliness, but the street sweeper came by at 4 a.m. followed by a pressure washer truck at 5 a.m. Take your map (provided at desk), as it's hard to find in the dark

Review 66:Quirky place. Each room painted by a different "artist?" Furniture made in 9th grade wood shop class, but comfortable. Fairly close to train station. Cross the plaza in front of station toward pink bldg. on right. go 2 blocks to Grafalgar.

Review 67:The shower has no barrier at the bottom to keep the water in one area. The shower curtain goes around only about half of the curtain rod so the water splashes even more.

Review 68:The closeness to the train station was quite convenient. The facility was new, less than 1 year old. The room was clean and the furniture new. Breakfast was an available option.

Review 69:Poor breakfast

Review 70:Just few steps from Central train station and easily to walk down town Very big rooms and clean, plenty of space. Comfort and relaxing. The guy working at evening was very very helpful to us. Thx!

Review 71:A toaster for the breakfast would be great. There was a limitation for one device for WIFI, an Extra WIFI conection on Sunday was not possible because nobody was there

Review 72:everything was perfect, big rooms big toilets and the design is awesome.

Review 73:Some street noise from drunks from local bars passing - not hotel's fault.

Review 74:Location close to Strasbourg Gare, fast internet, quality sheets, big pillows, clean and interesting decor

Review 75:there wasnt anything that i didnt like about the stay.

Review 76:helpfulness of staff, we had reserved a parking space but unfortunately due to the roof box we had on the car it couldnt fit under the barrier at the designated car park, but the member of staff sorted it out and managed to fit us in at the staff underground carpark. room was comfy and the hotel decor in the rooms and corridors amused our children. the hotel was central to tourist areas the staff member told us where to go and eat etc. very enjoyable stay.

Review 77:There being no one on reception from 12 noon on Sunday as we arrived mid afternoon and wanted more wifi connections but couldn't get any answer on the numbers left at reception.

Review 78:Clean, comfortable, spacious room and en suite facilities. A great concept. Really convenient for a visit to the city.

Review 79:The only complaint was it was noisy outside, but with windows closed, was fine.

Review 80:The artwork in the newly renovated rooms was amazing. Staff helpful and kind.

Review 81:No air con, so left windows open. Locals quite loud till early hrs.

Review 82:Recent refurb. Clean & quirky. Art work around the hotel excellent. Rm 302 spacious & bright. Good breakfast. Staff helpful. Secure parking. Short walk to centre.

Review 83:Wifi connection was poor, it kept cutting out every few minutes and you had to reconnect each time with the log in and password. The reception would not allow us to store our luggage once we checked out, which was extremely disappointing and inconvenient, and we had to take our bags to the train station for storage.

Review 84:Very close to the train station and a short walk to the centre of the old town. The room for 4 people was basic but clean and comfortable and had a large bathroom.

Review 85:No shower curtain (apparently not needed). Quirky art on room walls. No closet space. Uncomfortable desk chair. Quirky "shipping boxes" style furnishings. No A/C.

Review 86:Central location near Central Train Station. Helpful afternoon staff. Great bath towels.

Review 87:No wifi!! No air condition

Review 88:Very nice and modern hotel ehich gives excellent value for the money. Modern design with many fun details. All new and fresh.

Review 89:noise from the street, even on the 4th floor, can be disturbing at night.

Review 90:clean, comfortable, renovated rooms. location also very convenient. good value for money.

Review 91:The breakfast was bare minimum

Review 92:The graffiti design in the room and around the hotel -different but still classy. Super clean room and bathroom. Very helpful staff.

Review 93:Close to Train station, Friendly staff

Review 94:Loved the artwork throughout the hotel and it was one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed in. Staff were friendly and helpful as well.

Review 95:A little bit noisy as close to road.

Review 96:nice location and kind host.

Review 97:Very modern very clean and staff couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was basic but good

Review 98:Very small single room

Review 99:Excellent room decorations, very close to the railway station.

Review 108:Friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Original fun decor. Nice comfy beds.

Review 109:Very convenient location and most interesting art work in the rooms etc. Access to tea and coffee as needed

Review 110:single room is very small and the design is very special

Review 111:location, cleanliness

Review 112:Wifi for only one device. Really unusable for me.

Review 113:New and decent room.

Review 114:street noise disturbs at night

Review 115:Friendly atmosphere, nice staff, amazing design

Review 116:parking difficulties and need to use a parking far from the hotel

Review 117:Near to the center and nice paintings in the whole hotel and in the rooms

Review 118:Wifi was limited to one device.

Review 119:Stylish room, excellent location and helpful staff.

Review 120:Nothing really.
