Reviews for The Beaches Hotel
Review 1:No heating in the room The lights blew in the room at 9.30pm No hot water in the bathroom sink Woman at reception offered no customer service and in my opinion was abusive
Review 2:Nothing
Review 3:Breakfast was by far the worst breakfast I have ever had. It was cold, we did tell the staff and we left the breakfast and went to check out. We also advised the lady on reception who was very nice but said she did nit have the authority to arrange a refund. So the breakfast was a complete waste of money and as such we won't use this hotel again.
Review 4:Location
Review 5:I didn't 'not like' but 2 things I thought could be improved on - the spa pool was cold, I had been looking forward to a hot jacuzzi. Secondly - lovely cooked breakfast but I would have like more fruit, yogurt and Danish pastries (maybe I'm being greedy). Also - a cafetière of coffee would have been much appreciated
Review 6:Staff were lovely and I love our room with sea view
Review 7:The receptionist could not find our booking and therefore we had rooms which were not booked out to us , Bathroom certainly needs some work and TV not working
Review 8:when booked swimming pool was due to be opeing however when we got there it was delayed till the following week, partner was very disappointed.
Review 9:beautifull scenery, lovely rooms, breakfast was superb, staff really welcoming and accomodating.
Review 10:The pool facilities were broken, it did say on the website that it would be back open 23rd November this is main reason we stayed there. When we got there 27th November they were still working on this. Very disappointed with this as I wanted a pool and could of booked somewhere else if I knew this. The windows in the room were not sealed properly and it did get rather cold. Although there was a mini heater on the wall this did nothing for the bathroom.
Review 11:We got greeted with a smile and the guy who worked on the door was lovely! The parking was good you could see your car from your room. Also, the room was clean.
Review 12:The room was a bit cold and there was a weird gurgling noise from (I think) the heating pipes.
Review 13:The room was comfortable, fast wifi and a good breakfast.
Review 14:A little disappointed the leisure facilities were still being renovated and the price was still the same but couldn't be helped.
Review 15:Lovely clean hotel as usual! We stay here regularly and the staff are fabulous ?
Review 16:despite our complaints we spend 2 days without heating as radiators were not working at all.taking to consideration it was end of November and stormy, cold days it was a bit hopeless.
Review 17:cleanliness was good, breakfast - good quality ingredients
Review 18:ancient lift, view of holiday camp very grim, tatty décor.pieces of plaster missing in room, broken lampshade and tilt window in roof slope which could either be closed or fully open no safeguard to prevent it from swinging wide open. Very few guests so why not a sea view.inland view depressing.
Review 19:welcoming staff, good heating in bedroom plenty of hot water. Breakfast good serving lady "anne" very efficient and capable.
Review 20:Cheap bathroom fittings, e.g. towel rail fell apart in one room. Toilet roll holder in another. Nothing much aside from that.
Review 21:Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Very professional. Breakfast area was excellent. Young lady serving at the bar was extremely helpful taking time to answer our questions about the locality. Cleanliness was nop notch.
Review 22:When we arrived, all disabled spaces(5-6) outside the hotel occupied by builders vans. (Hotel leisure facilities under refurbishment). As I was moving my car to the car park (across the road) My elderly father fell injuring himself. I was disgusted to then be required pay for our accommodation upfront!
Review 23:Fabulous Beach-side location. Sea view.
Review 24:The room was a little tired although very clean and only 1 plug socket. The Wi-Fi wasn't great on the 3rd floor.
Review 25:The staff were lovely and very helpful. Location was very good and the food was really nice.
Review 26:The staff were extremely helpful throughout our stay.Dinner was very good and the breakfast was terrific also. The room was spotless and the bed was comfortable.
Review 27:We could not fault any thing the location was lovely .We had a room with a sea veiw which was lovely
Review 28:The staff were very polite pleasant and helpful.the breakfast very good and hot .evening meal very nice .the room was clean and comfortable .We could not fault any thing but would come again .
Review 29:Booking.com didn't notify that pool, gym etc closed for refurbishment so unable to stay for week. Not hotel's fault.
Review 30:Staff very helpful and friendly. Very clean. Hotel right on the beachfront. Will go back.
Review 31:Pool and spa was shut even though the lead line in booking. Com advertised these facilities. This was the primary reason we booked this hotel rather than one closer to where we intended to stay. No reduction on price to compensate for reduction of facilities.
Review 32:this hotel is well overdue the refurb that's is about to happen the pool area and changing rooms were mild covered and rusty with tiles missing around the pool this was not the relaxing area that is portrayed in the pictures the sauna was not hot enough there was no thermometer or timer and the steam room was not working but we were not advised of this the hotel is not set up for disabled guests and the lift broke down twice while we were there and one quest was left in their room all morning. The price you pay at this hotel is not reflected by the comfort or service you receive
Review 33:Location and some off the staff
Review 34:Here for my brothers wedding...fantastic venue and brilliant staff, especially Sasha who helped organise the wedding would recommend to anyone planning a wedding in North Wales
Review 35:When we arrived at the Hotel the receptionist wasn't friendly andinsisted that we don't have a booking at the Hotel. After showingproof of the booking she still insisted that she couldn't find it ontheir system. In the end she found the booking already printed inbetween the other forms printed out for the day's arrivals but underJohn as a surname even after I showed her the particulars were correcton our booking confirmation. We were informed that Booking.Com made themistake with our booking particulars. We asked for a sea view room butreceived a room at the back overlooking the road and caravan park. Afterasking if they could not please give us another room we received a verysmall room on the side of the Hotel, overlooking a roof. Last orders formeals are at 09 pm, on the first night we didn't know this and were5 min late, the waiters refused to serve us even though they were stillserving meals to other people until 09.30 pm. The shops and restaurantsare quite far from the Hotel so we had to go to sleep without food asthey don't have any kind of food after 09 pm not even sandwicheslike some other Hotels. The following evening family members came tovisit us and the receptionist informed them that we don't stay atthe Hotel and that no person with our name is staying at the Hotel. Wethought that they fixed our particulars. Luckily the family phoned us ontheir mobile phone. As we were waiting for them in the upstairsrestaurant/bar I went to fetch them at reception. Again thereceptionist wasn't very friendly and helpful. The outside area ofthe Hotel wasn't very tidy, empty glasses, bottles and rubbish wereleft lying around for hours and even over night.
Review 36:Breakfast.
Review 37:Having to wait an hour and 20 minutes for bar food that was cold and we didnt eat it. The room was very small and very noisy with water running through pipes. Breakfast was also cold as the queue was long and only one person serving.
Review 38:The hotel was clean but a bit out dated ie the pool and changing rooms. The 4 staff that looked to be working the bar and resturant were really nice and hard working but they were run off their feet.
Review 39:Reception very helpful on check-in and later when we wanted to change our room (Double bedded to two singles), a sea view, good breakfast, good service in all respects.
Review 40:we were originally given the wrong room, the first night we stayed the room was cold & the bed too small to sleep two comfortably & the bathroom left a lot to be desired. We were changed to the correct room the following day & are still waiting for an apology
Review 41:The view from the room, the room was too hot & didn't seem to be controllable. Breakfast was chaotic too, didn't need staff serving at a buffet set up
Review 42:Location ideal, right on the beach
Review 43:This hotel is very good.when we arrived the room and found the sink was blocked by previous customers. We report it to reception and they arranged another room for us,which is a bigger room. Very friendly staff there and good location.
Review 44:Not enough vegetarian choice on the restaurant if you didn't like mushrooms you were stuck.
Review 45:Friendly service, comfortable and clean rooms, location. Breakfast
Review 46:Service was poor at reception. Not very helpful. Breakfast service was extremely slow and limited. A bit restrictice finishing at 9.30
Review 47:Location by the beach
Review 48:Variety of drinks at the hotel bar was quite poor in my opinion for a relatively large hotel. Breakfast service was very bad - we waited over 45minutes before hot food was brought out after we ordered. Almost gave up, but then something was brought out (not quite what we had ordered).. Given the number of staff - not great.
Review 49:Great location for those finishing the Offa's Dyke path, but it is a little way from the pubs and restaurants in town. Nice to have a pool and sauna as well to help rest and relax tired legs after 200 miles
Review 50:We had a great time. Our room was very comfortable, the staff; from the cleaners, waiters, reception, we're very helpfull and everyone always had a smile and aword. The food was excellent. We will be back.
Review 51:Only one . my nephew and two nieces from Spain were disturbed on the Friday evening by a lady who had a little too much to drink!! I have to say the night porters were very helpful in trying to track the lady down and in escorting use back to the room
Review 52:Friendly staff, clean rooms , use of the gym etc and location perfect right on the beach
Review 53:Slow lift.
Review 54:Great staff: friendly but professional providing great service. Comfortable bed and lots of hot water. Good food in bar or restaurant. Breakfast adequate and really well-prepared. Parking convenient.
Review 55:Hotel was a located a bit far away from other activities and places , a 20 min walk into the town .
Review 56:Clean - tidy - friendly staff - nice food with a good selection , nice little swimming pool , and gym - sauna - steam room .
Review 57:The view was a great bonus. And around very comfortable stay.
Review 58:We used this hotel as part of our North Wales costal path walk and it was a perfect and comfortable stay. Would use again.
Review 59:previous guests cotton wool and hair clasps left under the dressing table despite being supposedly cleaned on 2 different days. We eventually removed it ourselves using a bag as a glove.
Review 60:the situation
Review 61:Pool and changing areas need updating. Toilet in room 213 needs bleach putting down to remove black areas beneath water line ( I did mention this to receptionist when leaving).
Review 62:Lovely view. Bar area, inside and out. Nice food.
Review 63:Too few serving staff at breakfast. Sometimes nobody in attendance at all. Queue to be seated.
Review 64:Excellent location and views of sea. Room fresh, modern and clean.
Review 65:Breakfast. First thing i was asked in the doorway was do you want toast, not good morning.must be a local custom. Tea was dreadfull small cups served from a stale flask at buffet. Teapots thats what we want. Breakfast buffet some hot some cold not fresh cooked.
Review 66:Location. Thats it
Review 67:Poor management response. When kitchen issues arose causing a long delay for food the Manager refused to provide support to the staff or reassure the guests. Also our bathroom was not cleaned properly.
Review 68:Good location, pleasant staff.
Review 69:Not a bad experiance as such but we were in a room with a conecting door. You could hear everything. Our neighbour had the tv on at 6.15am, his alarm went off at 6.30and after a noisy bath and a rant at the tv news he finally went out at 8.30am.
Review 70:Freindly staff good location.
Review 71:We didn't like the music on Saturday night we weren't told that they would be loud music when we checked in and it kept us awake for at least 2 hours after we had gone to bed. Also used towels near our room door & down the corridor all weekend.
Review 72:The hotel was spotlessly clean and room comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful, my little grand daughter who was not staying with us was allowed to use the pool with us.
Review 73:Decor a little tired in places, but not excessively so.
Review 74:Excellent location. We were fortunate having a sea view room. Good base for a short break. Good value. Decent 3* hotel.
Review 75:The room was so squeeze, there is no proper kettle table at all, and the space was so small. The shower cannot fit any person who is a bit overweight. Very disappointed to the room we got, and the staff in the reception was not so warm. Even tried to charge 10 pounds breakfast fee for my son who is just 2.
Review 76:I like the location, it is so close to the beach and my son loved it. The food was great, we loved the fish and chips there, and the breakfast. The staffs serviced the breakfast were great.
Review 77:Breakfast (cold) service (slow) and un organised. Bar menu expensive and poor choice alterations made since last visit seem only beneficial to the wedding planner.
Review 78:Slept well location close to family holidaying on pontins
Review 79:I have a blue badge and am disabled. We were asked to move our car from the front of the hotel because there was a wedding on. We had been given the impression it was for photographs, however it was for wedding guests to park there. As a hotel resident I found this to be rather unfair.
Review 80:Loved the location of the hotel, right on the beach front. Enjoyed the breakfast and meal we had in the bar. Staff were friendly and polite.
Review 81:Wifi a disaster.Rooms are not well insulated so you can hear everything going on in the room next door...literally. TV controls not working. Rooms a little dated. 35 minute wait for food at dinner. Hotel operation gets completely overstretched when there is a wedding there.
Review 82:Location is great. Right on the beach and it is a lovely beach. Staff are friendly but stressed. Pool is really nice. Water pressure in shower is really good. Ideal for kids as it ticks all their boxes. You are paying for the location here. Take the location away and you wouldn't be rushing back.
Review 83:Room was reasonable size, staff were helpful. Good choice for breakfast. Made use of pool after my morning run along the beach. Although hotel has had a refurb, the pool could do with an uplift too.
Review 84:Location of hotel and view, quality of service, helpfulness of staff, clean and comfortable room and excellent dining room. Reasonably priced accommodation A perfect two night break.
Review 85:we went for one night but it was so good we stayed an extra night. The food was so good, the place was spotless and the staff very friendly. We have booked again
Review 86:On arrival the lift was u/s and I was left to heave mine and another persons cases up to the third floor. No apologies there. Friends were then stuck in the lift for five minutes without apology!
Review 87:Location good. There for a wedding, and the hotel provided a lovely setting with a very good lunch.
Review 88:Bar area uncomfortable (felt like drinking in a cafe. Initial room above pool area very little sleep from pump or filter noise ( room changed next day. Lack of enthusiasm from staff ( 2 hours to complete restaurant meal due to delays between courses) night porter sorted it service much better next day. Breakfast more guest house than hotel.
Review 89:Friendly and helpful reception staff sea and hill views, good size bedroom and. Power shower.good parking.
Review 90:The food in the bar and restaurant was amazing, so surprised that a small hotel offered a nice selection and it was all fresh and very well presented.
Review 91:The bedroom poor value for money The bed Things didn't work properly Leisure facilities poor quality - spa not working, nothing was done about it!
Review 92:The location
Review 93:There was nothing not to like
Review 94:The friendly and helfull staff, the highstandard of the aaccommodation and the quality of food provided, please thank danniella and dave for the great kindness,
Review 95:Did not have a bad experience, although the hotel a bit old fashioned
Review 96:The staff were absolutely fantasic, and made up for some of the hotel's shortcomings.
Review 97:Didnt like the adjoining door , so basically other guest literally a door separating us. Had a young baby so had to ask the " neighbours " to keep noise levels down. Not that they were even being extra loud. It was just the partician between wasn't good enough.
Review 98:Staff were excellent. always went the extra mile. Very helpful and pleasant
Review 99:Cyclists were every where having queue too long 40 mins to get a drink on arrival female staff on reception very u informative and unfriendly no unacceptable access to towels for spa to to use towels in room often damp no towel rail as stressful jobs wanted to chill not fuss abt facilities staff and hotel wanted free sea view at breakfast staff refused was offered a table for ten just two of us very unacceptable
Review 100:There was a problem with the shower, reported it to reception, but didn't get fixed during our stay, which was for 2 nights. Also lift broke down, whilst we were in it, thankfully staff/ maintenance, managed to get us out pretty quick (5 mins). My husband had a shower & opened bedroom door & set alarm off, would have been helpful to have known this, we would have kept bathroom door shut.
Review 101:Room was very clean & comfortable/ Liked the sea view from our window. Breakfast was very good. Staff were very polite & helpful.
Review 102:The extractor fan in the bathroom was very noisy for each time we put the light on . The leisure facilities weren't very good for the price you pay. expected better. The pool is old and tiles are broken, cold water in the pool and jacuzzi. Wasn't very relaxing or pleasurable ! Which was disappointing
Review 103:The location was perfect and the rooms were lovely and very comfortable . Breakfast was very nice with lots of choice for teas, juices and cereals
Review 104:Unless you are staying as part of a big group booking who has hired out the function room for a wedding reception for example, make sure that your room is as far away as possible from the function room as the disco area is right underneath the bedroom we were initially given, and you couldn't hold a conversation in the room, the room was literally vibrating! Upon asking we were given another room a little further away, otherwise we would have gone and slept in the car till it finished at 01:00!
Review 105:Good location right on beachfront, with plenty of parking.
Review 106:Our first holiday in 15 years due to illness and we had a wonderfully relaxing and peaceful time. Everything was clean and comfortable, with staff who were only too happy to help.
Review 107:Room nice and clean plenty of room to move about and we looked out over beach and sea which was lovely. Breakfast full English was excellent with good friendly service. Very enjoyable stay.
Review 108:Upgraded to disabled room - however while the bathroom had a wide door and the toilet was raised with arm supports, the bedroom was so small could not get wheelchair around beds to get to the bathroom. Amputee would have a struggle to get into shower due to the shower floor being so high and no seat in shower.
Review 109:Looking out to sea from room. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good.
Review 110:Bedrooms were on the small side. Terrace bar/dining area (open to non residents) woefully understaffed given it was the hottest day of the year so far and the only place to get a cold drink or food within reasonable distance of the beach.
Review 111:Very comfortable bed with lovely linen and soft towels. Terrace was very nice with wonderful sea views. Hot breakfast served individually - much nicer that buffet style. Ample free parking spaces.
Review 112:The top floor WiFi signal was intermittent, probably fixed by now. No other faults.
Review 113:The hotel is right by the beach and is well looked after inside and out. Food is good and there's plenty if parking.
Review 114:we booked an evening meal at the hotel, food was good but had to wait an hour between starter and main.
Review 115:Nice clean hotel, friendly staff great location.
Review 116:Cot in the room, asked twice for it to be removed and had eventually to put it outside our room ourselves. Attic room very small, £100 for one night,no elevator, had to carry luggage up several flights of stairs. No signs for pool sauna or jacuzzi, jacuzzi button not working, ceiling in pool was mouldy. Gym equipment old and worn.
Review 117:Location of hotel.
Review 118:We were given a twin room instead of the double room we booked. We were given a different room and it was still being cleaned. Waited far too long for another room which made us late. Disappointing. Fawlty towers behaviours.
Review 119:No safe in room, Room interior could do with a refresh of paint.
Review 120:Good size room with good shower, Nice bar and dining facilities where the prices were reasonable. GREAT breakfast included. All staff were excellent.
Review 121:The staff were so friendly, the food however, overpriced and not spectacular. The breakfast was nice. Bedrooms could do with an update i.e painting. The pool was cold and the spa pool was cold. The steam room was ok but the sauna was a bit naff. Not much evening entertainment in the area for adults. Had to travel out for it.
Review 122:Receptionist moody. Only there for one night, didn't smile. Seemed irritated by me. Front of house staff are so important. Staff with the wrong attitude don't really encourage you to make a return visit in the future. I've stayed in numerous hotels and this was the worst receptionist I've ever come across. But she was more than happy to take my money. Had questions but didn't feel comfortable asking her. Also night porter seemed to occupied to take my key.
Review 123:Comfortable bed, clean and a superb bathroom
Review 124:Both mornings breakfast service was very slow, had to ask twice where my coffee and toast was and people were coming in after us and getting there's served first. No good if your on a tight schedule.
Review 125:location
Review 126:Our room was over the swimming pool. could here a noise all night. Could have been a pump.Did request a room on upper floor on our booking request.
Review 127:The staff were friendly, breakfast was very good. Room was small but comfortable.
Review 128:size of room size of shower Buffet breakfast not hot enough
Review 129:Car parking was very good. Cleanliness of hotel Efficiency and friendliness of staff
Review 130:I had a noise above my room all night, the room was tired and worn and didn't look like any of the pictures breakfast was a disaster no glasses no toast and no service.
Review 131:Having the option of the pool was nice, but it was not well maintained and the chaining rooms were appalling. Very dirty.
The Fine Print
