Reviews for Hôtel Auberge Saint Hubert
Review 1:Some people we met were not happy with the size of their rooms...ours was fine.
Review 2:We used to visit the hotel a lot and it was always fine. Now it has been refurbished and upgraded and is really nice and still run by the same family. The really important things for skiing are there: good heating, loads of hot water (and our room had a bath!), comfy bed, good breakfast. Covered parking too, if you book it for your car. Can't comment on the half board option.
Review 3:On departure I was presented with a bill for local taxes which I was not aware that I would incure . Also a bill for Paking , which was offered to me on arrival with no mention of cost so this was a little embarrassing as Val d isere is an expensive resort and we over spent during our stay and had no means of making payment. So I have noticed that they have been debiting my credit after my departure which I feel is unfair. However I would stay back at the hotel as we totally enjoyed our stay and the excellent service. I do however feel that this should be looked into and a reimbursement made to my debit card.
Review 4:Cosy and lovely staff
Review 5:Breakfast could have been a little better for the cost, but only if you want more than just eggs, toast, cereals etc. Our shower temperature sometimes had a mind of its own too, but not enough to complain.
Review 6:Location was fantastic and staff were at hand to help with any issues/questions. Room was comfy and added extra of a balcony was welcomed. Easy access to the boot room from the main street too.
Review 7:Initially had v v v small room in 3rd floor ( i booked late and it was all that they had available for NYE ) but changed to room on 1st as soon as one was available - amazing team at reception. Could not do enough to help. Made our trip.
Review 8:The ski locker room is too small for the number of skiers wanting to use it and the ski rack was a bit chaotic and overloaded.
Review 9:Friendly and helpful staff. Late check out was agreed without any problem. Decent bathroom with tidy shower and fittings. Loads of hot water at all times.
Review 10:WiFi signal was very poor in our room (207). The member of the staff who assisted us didn't know how to speak English. But she tried her best to explain the indications she needed to give us. € 2.50 each guest for the local tax seems a bit too much to me. € 15 each guest for the breakfast is an absolute rip off. Especially considering the level of choice of the food available.
Review 11:There was a keen interest in cycling expressed by the manager and I did actually pass him as he was descending from the Col d'Iseran on the following morning.
Review 12:The breakfast was overly expensive, but I suppose that is expected in Val d'isere. The rooms were small but I wasn't expecting a penthouse suit considering the amount I paid. Overall very good!
Review 13:Excellent location, with friendly staff. Close to the lift and close to bars restaurants etc. The price was good and I would definitely stay there again.
Review 14:Tiny bath and no shower curtain. Noise from street into the early hours. Sliding wardrobe door that kept getting stuck and came off its runner once.
Review 15:Convenient location. Good breakfast.
Review 16:solo room street side so passing yuppy yoof screaming shouting like imbeciles for no good reason, but at least moving rather than in Verbier where hang out outsuide of room 4 ever - but still lost sleep and felt strung out in morning.
Review 17:Comfy and friendly staff
Review 18:Check your bills when checking out!! Charged 200 EUR extra on the final bill! Housekeeping threw some of my cosmetics away while cleaning, breakfast is not good and overpriced. Front desk staff unfriendly. Way too expensive for a hotel of this standard.
Review 19:The location
Review 20:The location is perfect. The staff made us feel welcome from the minute we walked in the door and they managed to find that balance between being helpful and attentive but not over-bearing. Something most hotels fail miserably in. Highly recommend this hotel.
Review 21:This tiny dormer room had a slanted roof which meant there was only one place that I could stand upright...and I'm barely 6ft tall, but as it was above the nightclub, we had plenty of noise from people standing directly below our window through the night, as they came out for a smoke...which provided plenty of noise distraction from the claustrophobia! At £350 per night....it was simply an outrageous rip off.
Review 22:it was a roof above our head for 3 nights -literally!
Review 23:Our room was very small with very little storage area. The ski storage area was small with no personal lockers. No lift and no offer of help with our luggage on arrival.
Review 24:Location in the centre of Val D'Isere and a 10 minute walk from the central ski area. Comfortable and Clean. Apres ski free cake and tea was nice. The cheapest central Val D'Isere hotel we could find at the time of booking.
Review 25:Asked to keep and use same cutlery between 1st and 2nd courses. Slow, chaotic service at dinner, -not sufficient staff (Downstairs) bar lacking in atmosphere and always had to find someone to serve us!
Review 26:Charming and helpful front of house staff
Review 27:Nothing bad...room was small, but that's what I booked.
Review 28:I'm town centre, restaurant, bar and ski room on-site. Great value for money compared to alternatives. Close to ski lifts, après ski venues etc
Review 29:Breakfast is a bit basic but not bad, facilities were fine for the hotel of this size but the sauna is very small
Review 30:location was right in the middle of town centre, the hotel is very cosy and has a good bakery right downstairs. Wifi was fast, staff was helpful.
Review 31:Room was too hot. No shower curtain made bathroom very wet! Ski boot room is far too small!
Review 32:Central location Friendly staff Quiet room Nice restaurant
Review 33:Only one thing, but it didn't spoil our stay at all but they could spend some time and insulate the pipes in the room as every time someone flushed a toilet you could hear running water.
Review 34:Can't fault the location, right in the centre of everything. Boot room available right of the street to dry ski equipment that lead right into the downstairs bar/tv room. Hot drinks and cake available free of charge everyday after being on the slopes, great idea. Comfortable beds, we also had a small balcony which was nice. Robes and slippers added a special touch.
Review 35:Didn't have breakfast so can't comment Bar downstairs OK for apres ski but quiet in the evenings but not really a problem as there is so much choice in Val
Review 36:Great location on the main street in Val D'isere. Very helpful staff. Asked for a quiet room at the back of the hotel so no noise from below. Nice room , comfy bed , lots of fresh towels. Easy access boot room. Everything you want and a good price with the best patisserie just next door. The hotel even gave us a voucher for discounted ski rental which we used.
Review 37:Heat, small room & noisy on top floor. Rooms at back much quieter. Would come again but book different room.
Review 38:Manager moved us after 4 days as room too small, hot & noisy! We paid for lowest room category but weren't expecting it to be so hot can hear all the club goers coming out at 2-3am manager moved us at no extra cost to room at back which was much cooler & quieter also bigger.
Review 39:Boot/ equipment room was extremely cramped - it was difficult to store my snowboard and at times I had to take my board to my room. I was a bit annoyed that they got the bill wrong at the end of my stay and overcharged me.
Review 40:The location was brilliant - slap bang in the centre of town and close to the lifts. Good breakfast. Amazing pastry shop next door!
Review 41:On checking my bill I have been overcharged for twice as many breakfasts as we actually had. I do think 12 Euro for the breakfast provided was quite high and perhaps should be included in the room rate which in January is not cheap
Review 42:Our room was beautifully clean with high quality toiletries. Bathrobes were a lovely touch and excellent for using the sauna which we had no trouble using on two of our afternoons in the hotel. I was over the moon when one of the waiting staff found my engagement ring which had come of my finger and rang me to tell me they had found it, heart warming honesty. The wifi was excellent.
Review 43:It certainly wasn't cheap.
Review 44:Room was pretty, bathroom amenities excellent - love the big bottles of occitane, so much more Eco friendly. Sauna was small, 1-2 people max but good to have. The post ski gouter in the bar was a nice touch. The wifi connection excellent and no need to put in password every day!
Review 45:The hotel was centrally heated and we all found it terribly hot! It was uncomfortable to sleep as it was too warm and we needed to open our window to let cool in air constantly even though it was snowing.
Review 46:The location of the Hotel is awesome. Right in the heart of the community and easy access to everything. The staff were lovely and helpful and spoke good English.
Review 47:Great location, really cosy hotel, rooms are average sized but very comfortable and cosy, really clean, friendly staff. A lovely little hotel in the centre of town, would stay again
Review 48:Nothing.
Review 49:Staff were lovely - friendly and extremely helpful. Room was comfortable and quiet (hotel is on the main street, but our rooms faced the back and we visited out of season). Bathroom spacious & I liked that a bathrobe was supplied. Very well priced late summer.
Review 50:Our bedroom size was rather small.
Review 51:We had difficulty finding the hotel because of a fault on our GPS and had to phone for help and even though she had to leave the reception she very willingly came to meet us, a very kind and pleasant lady. I imagine that it would be a lovely place to stay in winter.
Review 52:Free Wifi only in communal areas.
Review 53:A rather small but clean comfortable and well equipped room. Big enough for a solo traveller but would be a bit cramped for a couple I think.
Review 54:Friendly staff Perfect location
Review 55:Friendly
Review 56:The breakfast was not good value for money.
Review 57:The location was excellent and the rooms were cosy. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 58:N/A
Review 59:A very friendly and welcoming hotel where customer service is outstanding. A true home from home.
Review 60:The staff was outstanding! Attentive, friendly and professional
Review 61:small rooms, bad breakfast really bad...
Review 62:the location is perfect . the staff is great
Review 63:rear room looked onto courtyard
Review 64:nice breakfast buffet one of few hotels open in autumn
Review 65:The room staff were excellent and the rooms were spotless.
Review 66:Staff not overly friendly
Review 67:Great location clean comfy beds
Review 68:a bit expensive for the small room size, but that seems to be the norm (spoiled american)
Review 69:very nice staff, great location, no problems.
Review 70:Nothing
Review 71:Best value we could find
Review 72:Only one English TV channel - CNN
Review 73:Great room selections
Review 74:Rooms look a bit old fashioned.
Review 75:Lokation is exelent. Parking is ideal and rooms are very clean
Review 76:Family-owned owners are money -mad about everything. Forget the 30 EUR breakfast and go next door for 12 EUR. Forget the parking- It's about EUR 90 a week at the central car park behind the hotel they will charge you EUR150 Check the bill they give you. With us they had added an extra EUR600 for things we never had..
Review 77:-Very good location.
Review 78:We were in a separate apartment to the main Hotel so value for money and comfort scores a little lower than would have been if staying in the main Hotel
Review 79:Very friendly staff, easy going.
Review 80:Small rooms and tiny bathrooms (even for Val d'Isere), our room was under the roof rafters above the bar entrance which meant you had to crouch down to get in/out of bed and cupboards. Also could be a bit nosy at night if your room is facing the main street. Ski room is far too small and inadequately equipped and therefore quickly becomes a mess with falling down skies and poles and some of the boot driers didn't work. Check your bills carefully at the check-out as we were charged for breakfast we didn't have - an additional €840 on three rooms!
Review 81:Centrally located and very clean hotel, the patisserie next door opens early and is great for breakfast (and half the price of the hotel's breakfast!). Just a short walk to the ski lifts and all the bars/restaurants.
Review 82:Cute lodge dead center of town. Nice single with terrace. Ski rm with heated boot hooks. Lifts a short walk. Lift pass includes pool with hydro massage units. Delicious omelet lunch. Pleasant tea time with juices, cake and fruits. Supermarkets across the street and around the corner. Very sweet and helpful staff. When you arrive you need to go inside the hotel to get the remote that lowers the pole to enter and drop off your luggage and skis. Paid Indoor Parking is a very short walk away.
Review 83:No lift, charged 100 euros to dispose of some pizza boxes from kids room, these people are rip off merchants. Much better value to be had elsewhere.
Review 84:Location
Review 85:no lift
Review 86:location was amazing -- close to the nightlife, bus stop, and the lifts the staff was very friendly and provided a good suggestion for ski rental
Review 87:Somewhat small room, the low ceiling doesn't help. Also no fridge/minibar (i would expect one in a 4* hotel) in the room and no elevator (but that is sometimes the case in ski resorts)
Review 88:Very good location, close to the bus drop off point and to the slopes and the village centre
Review 89:The restaurant is overpriced for dinner but in truth no real need to eat there as so many options in Val D'Isere. Breakfasts were good but expensive at Eur 20 per person. Better to book inclusive rate
Review 90:It was a charming hotel with delightful staff. We felt very welcome and very at home. Excellent afternoon tea. No complaints. We loved it , we will be back.
Review 91:Not a thing.
Review 92:Great location in center of Val d'Isere. Convenient to ski area, shopping, restaurants. Wonderful bar & restaurant on site. Very fortunate to get rooms at last minute.
Review 93:As in all places in Val Disere, the prices are sometimes crazy, 8 Euro for a small Calrsberg beer at the after skii, rip of! Breakfast at the hotel 20 Euro, not the best I have had!
Review 94:Very nice "family" hotell in the center of the resort Good facilities in the hotell for skiis and boots Nice room with new bathroom
Review 95:We were there for a week ski-vacation and enjoy every moment of it. Hotel staffs were nice, friendly and helpful, clean room, good location, good food and heated room to store ski gears. Nothing more for skier to ask for !!!
Review 96:The bathroom was very small and the heating was on way too much - I was too hot every night. It is also quite old.
Review 97:I liked the location as it is extremely close to the mountains and the ski lifts. It was also clean and the room had a balcony which was great.
Review 98:The beds are too short I am 5,9" and my feet were hanging off the end of the bed. Room cleaning sometimes ignored glasses and rubbish in the bins. I really hate the typical French shower with no wall bracket requiring one hand for the shower head at all times. Ski/Boot Room was well heated but very cramped. The Free WiFi available throughout the entire Hotel is basically a lie..The signal was awful and only really works if you are seated in the 6 seat (2 sofa) Reception area, or in my Sons room on the 1st floor directly over reception, everywhere else is a dead zone signal wise. Not great if you have to catch up with emails in the evenings.
Review 99:The Location was Excellent just a short walk to the snow, Good Breakfast although expensive, always comfortably warm, as was the hot water supply. Towels were changed regularly, the views from rooms at the rear are spectacular of the mountain. The free Tea and Coffee plus Cake in the afternoon was a nice touch... Staff were always cheerful and helpful... Despite the negatives in this review if they fixed the WiFi I could forgive the other things...
Review 100:The room didn't have a safe in it, but was otherwise very comfortable.
Review 101:It is a small, friendly hotel in the middle of the resort with large, airy rooms. Convenient for the slopes and all the nightlife in the centre of town.
Review 102:Room too small even for 3 people. After they put the 4th bed it wasimpossible to stay into the room. If they don't have a proper room, they shouldn't allow the room for families.
Review 103:Excellent hotel, with great location (on the main street in Val D'Isere, close to all shops and very close to the main lifts to the mountains). Very friendly staff, good food.
Review 104:Wifi does not reach the bedroom, you have to go to the reception area
Review 105:Excellent all round hotel ideally located. They park the car in private car park.
Review 106:The rooms were very tired and small, they were basic at best. The wifi did not work in the rooms upstairs.
Review 107:The restaurant, the downstairs area and the staff
Review 108:Poor Internet connection in the room. Bathroom not practical Shower temperature not constant (switching from cold/warm unattendly)
Review 109:Location in village centre Friendly staff Tea room and tea time in the afternoon after ski Ski room Comfortable bed
Review 110:No lift and very expensive- room only cost 800 euros for three nights. Also v noisy drunken fight in corridor outside woke us up at 4.00 am the second night
Review 111:The location in the centre of town and the coffee shop/ bakery next door
Review 112:Expensive accommodation. Drinks expensive (€8.50 for a beer) Wifi onlyworks in reception Bedroom tiny Noise/music from rear of hotel Skiboot room v small u
Review 113:Friendly helpful staff. Bathroom was well appointed
Review 114:Square pillow - its a french thing I guess.....
Review 115:It did what it said on the can - staff were freindly and helpful, location excellent and good value for money.
Review 116:This is my 8th stay in Val d'Isère - always in different hotels -and the room I had in the Hotel St Hubert was the worst ever. I paidover 150€/night for a room with a size <10m². Do yourself afavour - do not book this hotel. Its 4* prize and you get a 2* hotel. Adéconseiller!!!
Review 117:Val d'Isère
Review 118:The size of the room, it was super small for the price paid. But I guess what you pay is the location... Noisy at night.
Review 119:Amazing location, walking distance to the slopes, right in the middle of the village (stores, restaurants...). The room was super clean and cozy.
Review 120:Utterly basic accommodation for 5 star prices. I have stayed in vastlymore comfortable, well equipped and generously proportioned hotelrooms in the middle of Paris for less than half the price of my roomin this hotel.
Review 121:Grotesquely overpriced to the extent of "rip off".
Review 122:Family room was a bit small for four but we managed. With ski gear and bags etc we didn't have a lot of room to move around the beds. We couldnt access the deck because one of the beds was placed against the door which opened inwards.
Review 123:Location was fantastic just a five minute walk to the lifts and right in the center of town for easy access to restaurants and shops.
Review 124:Paid parking, but that could be the whole resort
Review 125:In the main high street Close to main lifts Even closer to Dicks Tea Bar etc
Review 126:Nice hotel - not too ritzy but great central location.
Review 127:Location, attractive, small and fun
Review 128:All round excellent. Well run friendly, well located hotel. Would stay again.
Review 129:listed as 4 star, some ones having a laugh
Review 130:location
Review 131:Lack of lounge space, no lift
Review 132:Location older French style
Review 133:Food was expensive
Review 134:Location and friendly staff
