Reviews for Cairn Bay Lodge

Review 1:The hosts were absolutely fantastic, very friendly and were on hand if there was anything I needed. All information was excellent. The breakfast was just amazing, both mornings my breakfast was beautifully presented and tasted amazing, a great start to the day.

Review 2:Big warm welcome, gorgeous spacious bedroom overlooking the beach, fantastic decor in bathroom. Really enjoyed chats with the friendly staff at breakfast, and the food a very high standard to top it off. Would definitely go back and recommend anyone to stay!

Review 3:The owners and staff were warm, friendly and provided excellent customer service. Being right on the water the views were fantastic. The food was delicious and the place was very clean.

Review 4:Ideal situation right on the sea front of Bangor, friendly, good food, good value. Walking distance to nice restaurants, shops and cafes. Good public transport into Belfast etc.

Review 5:only downside was the shower wasnt the best it was very clean but not powerful at all. It was faulty and we forgot to mention it when checking out.

Review 6:we really enjoyed our stay here, what a beautiful place with great facillities, staff, food and views! would definately recommend it. Try the homemade scones in the cafe they are amazing!!!!

Review 7:Nothing to dislike except the occasional rain!

Review 8:Quality of breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and very obliging. Plenty of car parking off road.

Review 9:It takes some finding because of the 2 mile 'one way' aspect of their road. The road they are on is an extention of the Marine Promenade and shore road from the centre of Bangor and is ONE WAY west to east all the way. The best way especially from the EAST is to go straight into the centre of Bangor, head for the Marina area down the hill on the shore, then turn RIGHT and continue round for 2 miles. The property in on the shore line (past the sailing club) in Ballyholme Bay.

Review 10:The shoreline location, the eclectic mix of furniture interior design and collectable curious. The homeliness and extreme friendliness of proprietors and their staff. The breakfast choices including a range of 'fish' options incl. fresh salmon! The quality of preparation and presentation of the breakfast. Adequate private (off road)parking in their grounds. The information both verbal and reading material regarding the local town (Bangor), and access tips to Belfast. Good to use as a base for Belfast tour visit, half an hour by car.

Review 11:I love this place and have stayed whenever I've visited Northern Ireland. The rooms have character, the beds are very comfortable, the welcome is warm and the breakfasts are excellent.

Review 12:given a warm welcome on arrival, clean, well presented room and lots of character within the building. Breakfast was excellent with variety of choice.Nice people to deal with.

Review 13:The bed squeaked a lot but it made us laugh. I would have slept on the floor just for breakfast.

Review 14:Breakfast is truly superb. Chris and Jenny - the hosts - could not be faulted. Warm and friendly even when busy. My wife loved the Voya spa products.

Review 15:As I am from Enniscorthy Co Wexford I had hoped to watch the RTE 9 oclock news but was unable.

Review 16:The friendliness, the whole atmosphere and the fantastic breakfast. I can not remember a better and more comfortable B&B. Many thanks

Review 17:The drive into Belfast was rather busy early in the morning

Review 18:What's not to like, this is a fantastic Guest house, I Thoroughly recommend Cairn Bay Lodge, From the moment I walked in the door, Chris greeted me and made me very welcome, pointing out where to go for my evening meal in Bangor. My room was immaculate and reflected the artistic, interesting flair of the rest of the house... Its the little things that set this place apart and totally out classed hotels I've stated at in the Belfast (in fact UK) area. Breakfast was fantastic, great selection of cereal, yoghurt, a large bowl of fresh fruit salad plus the cooked breakfast I ordered was just outstanding. The guest house is an easy walking distance (for me) into Bangor although it's outlook over Ballyholme beach is wonderful, my 2 nights stay was just too short and I will be back for sure....

Review 19:Wonderful house full of interesting items. Lovely room with beautiful view of the bay. Nicest room we have had during our trip, including two hotels. Excellent breakfasts. Two good pub restaurants within walking distance.

Review 20:Being detailed - the service was efficient rather than friendly; but that didn't detract too much from the overall experience

Review 21:The location, stunning views, bedroom and breakfast - all brilliant

Review 22:Particulary I like tasty "handmade" breakfasts. Every guest can choose what he would like in the morning. It's just wonderful! Very attentive staff. You cab expect that your every wish will be granted. Due to its location every room has its own stunning unforgettable view. Especially I'd like to thank lovely owners Jenny and Chris for the stay I will always remember.

Review 44:Having to use a code to get in

Review 45:The breakfast The view from the window The balcony The whole location

Review 46:Nothing to dislike

Review 47:All round attention and service

Review 48:Beautiful breakfast

Review 49:Too fussy and cluttered for my personal tastes.

Review 50:Staff were excellent as was the location. Really good breakfast. Easy parking .

Review 51:The room lacked a straight-backed chair. A light sheet and blanket should have been available to replace the quilt on the bed.

Review 52:Individual design of rooms View of bay from room Nice breakfast with several options Sea front location

Review 53:Lovely fruit for breakfast, quality food displayed well. Friendly family run accommodations. Great touch with cake & fresh milk for tea on arrival in the evenings.

Review 54:Only that the WiFi didn't work wellin my room.

Review 55:It really did have the feeling of being at a lodge. The room I had was superb overlooking the water. Lots of parking, the food was delicious and Chris and Jenny were very hospitable and friendly.

Review 56:Nothing.

Review 57:Very welcoming. Extremely generous providing tea making facilities, home made cake, biscuits etc in room. Excellent breakfast, cooked to order. Very friendly and helpful in finding what's on, ordering taxis etc. Really lovely stay

Review 58:I really enjoyed the interesting ambience of the house; the many little details to make the stay more fun. I enjoyed the care and attention of the staff

Review 59:The Hosts, Friendly and helpful. The breakfast Great food and selection. The decor strange but great. Very clean throughout. Little touches like cake in the evenings.

Review 60:There is nothing I didn't like about it.

Review 61:The location is perfect, it was so lovely and peaceful atmosphere. The owners and staff were so friendly, rooms were extremely comfy and clean.I loved the decoration of the rooms so much. Breakfast was excellent.Highly recommended! :)

Review 62:There wasn't anything that I didn't like. Everything was perfect!

Review 63:The setting is amazing and the owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was totally amazing and the rooms were beautiful and well decorated. The room had a lovely balcony off the back and the choice of two beds. One was firm and the other was comfortably soft. The neighborhood is residential and quiet and the views to the sea as well as proximity to the walking paths along the shore is spectacular. This would be a lovely place for families as well because there is a lovely park and playground close to the location. I can't stress enough how wonderful this place was. I wish I had stayed here all week instead of moving to the city.

Review 64:The lodge is 50 yards the wrong way up a one way street, and finding theway by car on a short stay was not easy. This problem was caused by thelocal council of course, and not under the control of the Landlord.

Review 65:Welcoming friendly host and staff. Very obliging and helpful.Comfortable room with superb view over the bay. No problem parking.Excellent breakfast, pre-ordered the night before with an excellentrange of choices.

Review 66:Room too small and packed with furniture. Rather don't put it in. My most annoyance was that i had to crawl on the floor to find the electrical outlet to plug the kettle in. Just although beauriful view, no space so they should allow for thar on the price per room

Review 67:Was lovely but thought a bit pricy for what it is. My god the breakfast. So goood and try the oats absolutely wonderful

Review 68:It was so peaceful and the atmosphere in the Lodge was just lovely, itis tastefully and nicely decirated and the antiques are just lovely. Theextra touches such as cake left out in the evenings and the basket ofextras left in the room are just lovely. Also the freshly cookedbreakfast and the opportunity to have anything from eggs benedict tofresh porridge cooked to order is excellent.

Review 69:A warm friendly welcome, beautiful house, comfortable well decorated room, lovely clean bathroom. This is a wonderful example of how good a Bed & Breakfast can be. From cakes outside the room to have with a cup of tea, to a most amazing breakfast, the experience was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this B&B - and I would also suggest that general managers of the larger, supposedly upmarket hotels, should visit to see how it is really done.

Review 70:very lovely place.

Review 77:The homeliness and general atmosphere also the food and comfortable bed. The snacks etc. in the rooms were better than some hotels we have stayed in.
