Reviews for Cromore Halt
Review 1:No bad experiences but there were an awful lot of signs everywhere which i didn't think were needed. Breakfast was lovely but a tad slow.
Review 2:I have stayed up the North Coast many times but hadn't stayed at Cromore Halt before. Have to say the staff were so lovely and really helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The food in the bistro was absolutely delicious- both my husband and I really enjoyed it and would come back again.
Review 3:The overall breakfast spread was nice, but the cooked breakfast was disappointing, cheap sausages and part of the order forgotten. The staff were attentive though, and quickly rectified the mistake.
Review 4:The room was spacious, clean and well presented. The guest house as a whole was clean and welcoming with helpful and friendly staff.
Review 5:Biscuits would be great in bedrooms with tea/coffee facilities.
Review 6:Enjoyable stay, staff very friendly, room spacious and clean. Breakfast excellent great selection of cooked and continental.
Review 7:Well keep hotel. Food very well presented. Staff excellent great personalities. Only one problem booked sonce beginning of sept price £89 and I got a email 2 days before and it was £75 was disappointed on rate. Thanks
Review 8:What I didn't like was that I had to go home, work was calling unfortunately!!
Review 9:Breakfast was exceptional, poached eggs were sublime and the wife's scrambled eggs were exceptional. Overall the facilities were clean, tidy, good value for money and the staff were more than helpful. Would have no problem returning here again.
Review 10:The staff were very helpful and friendly it was our wedding anniversary and we had a great time would recommend this to our friends and family will definitely stay again thank you all
Review 11:No complaints!!!
Review 12:Friendly staff. Many thanks to Maureen for getting us sorted for May.Rooms clean confortable and cosy warm.Evening meal excellent as well as service same goes for breakfast plentiful and roasting hot Many thanks see you again
Review 13:Our only slight disappointment was that breakfast wasn't served until 8. Because of our commitments we had to leave before it started but we were offered a continental breakfast which was fine.
Review 14:Nice room and it was very clean, as were the halls etc. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 15:Not the most picturesque location and no garden!
Review 16:Large bright and airy room with a small table and chairs. Comfortable beds and good bathroom. Well located for exploring North Antrim and the Causeway coast and plenty of parking. Excellent value for money.
Review 17:1) No room fridge. 2) Given the size of the bedroom I was expecting the bathroom to be a little larger. The sink was too small and the area around it "too cramped" with position of the door. 3) I would have preferred a "full" shower and omitted the bath.
Review 18:The staff, the cooked breakfast (perfection) and generally everything else except the reservations I had with the bathroom. I would most definitely recommend it.
Review 19:Our twin room was very spacious and clean. We went to the restaurant for dinner and our meals were wonderful, as was breakfast the next morning. All staff were very courteous and helpful. A bonus having a supermarket next door. Highly recommend!!
Review 20:Rooms were very warm. Bar didn't have a great selection.
Review 21:Location was good, close to beaches and tourist atractions. Staff were great, shower was excellent and the bed was very comfy. Breakfast was delicious
Review 22:There were only RTE channels available on the TV and a noisey fan seemed to operate throughout the night.
Review 23:All of the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good and reasonably priced
Review 24:I have no negative comments and I look forward to future visits to the Cromore Halt.
Review 25:Friendly and understanding staff. We have stayed here several previous occasions but on this visit we regrettably had to cut short our stay due to a member of the family being taken ill suddenly and admitted to hospital. Both the hotel and Booking.com handled the change in arrangements both sympathetically and very efficiently and I would like to express my thanks to both parties.
Review 26:Nothing
Review 27:Staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Only stayed one night but was clean and comfortable and got a good nights sleep.
Review 28:I have to say for my short stay I did not find anything I didn't like. Breakfast may be better as a buffet to allow customers to choose what they want.
Review 29:overall , a very comfortable and clean hotel for the price, in a good location close to all amenities, staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 30:A great little hotel with the friendliest, most efficient staff. Rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Hotel has a warmth and hospitality second to none. Food was exquisite. We ate there both evenings and were really happy. You can choose to dine in the waiter serviced restaurant or less formally in the bistro area where you can pre pay and select from an equally tempting menu. ( An option not fully understood by previous reviewers) Place was buzzing with diners on both evenings (always a good sign!) and yet service was attentive and efficient. Location is great: a 10-15 minute walk to town and short drives to all the major Causeway sites. Thoroughly recommend it.
Review 31:My wife and I have stayed in Cromore Halt as a couple and previously with our two chidlren and have got to say how excellent this accommodation is. We will always check here first. Great staff, great food and great facilities at a great location.
Review 32:We brought our grandchildren for dinner in the restaurant, the selection of soft drinks is extremely poor, bar mixers available but more expensive than a standard soft drink in most restaurants at £2 for a tiny bottle!
Review 33:We had dinner it was lovely!
Review 34:Poor service at breakfast. Had to ask for everything and ended up walking round tables left by other guests to collect milk etc. Toast incinerated and items requested for breakfast not served. Requested chipped cup replaced and waiter handed replacement one with thumb over the rim....oops! Basic H&S .
Review 35:Excellent stay apart from breakfast experience - food lovely, service awful. Spacious room, comfort, cleanliness, service and friendliness at reception.
Review 36:Wifi connection wasn't great. In the bathroom there were various signs stating that makeup should not be on the towels or fake tan. Although no one deliberately does this the sign also states a fine of £50 may be instated. I felt this was abit harsh and not exactly welcoming.
Review 37:friendly check in staff. Comfortable room Would stay again
Review 38:Dinner in the bistro could, to be honest, be very easily improved. Starters were too big. Fish was over cooked. Pity when ingredients were good.
Review 39:Cleanliness
Review 40:Nothing.
Review 41:Small yet homely hotel tastefully decorated. Rooms are large, immaculate and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfasts and hotel food excellent whilst staff were friendly, helpful and pleasant. Hotel I in a great location to travel around the north coast to see some of the most spectacular scenery on the planet.
Review 42:Having to go home, would have liked to stay longer if I had the time;)
Review 43:Best Scampi I have ever tasted and the Ulster Fry in the morning was of a high standard too. You cannot go wrong with anything you order:)
Review 44:I felt there could have been more selection in the buffet breakfast.
Review 45:Staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived early to check in as we were visiting friends and were able to leave our bags in one room and get both room keys to save time later. Booked evening meal in the restaurant and the food was excellent. My husband recommends the sea food chowder to start and my rib eye steak was melt-in-the-mouth good.
Review 46:Just a little bit pricey for me, but I needed to be in Portstewart, and everywhere else seemed to be booked up!
Review 47:Excellent food, not your run of the mill stuff, so many interesting dishes on the menu!
Review 48:A couple walked into our room that had been given the wrong key and whilst it was just a mistake I would have appreciated a complimentary drink for example due to the embarrassment and error.
Review 49:the atmosphere and location. the rooms were really clean as well and lots of hot water!
Review 50:The bath towels were very small compered to other hotels...
Review 51:The room was well equipped. Bathroom was very clean. The decor was up to date. The room was very warm but the heating was easily adjusted...
Review 52:The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location 1.5mile from Portstewart. Food was good - can not fault this place at all :-)
Review 53:The staff helped us to find a new rom after some difficulty sleeping on the first night. They could not have tried harder to improve our experience. The hotel was very quiet, which was a bonus.
Review 54:Hotel really needs a bar area. There is a bar at the end of the restaurant but it has no dedicated seating, lacks atmosphere and , as a result, becomes part of a restaurant and you feel obliged to move as you are using up table space.
Review 55:Friendly staff Good sized bedrooms
Review 56:Room cold at times but staff helped with extra blankets etc
Review 57:Loved this hotel 2nd time here will be back rooms big and comfortable food great whats not to like
Review 58:Would have found a king size bed and softer pillows more comfortable.
Review 59:Spacious bedroom with everything you need - tea& coffee making facility, hairdryer, trouser press and helpful staff. Food in bistro very good and great breakfast.
Review 60:on Monday night in January the restarant was closed
Review 61:location close to university, parking facilities, store and gass station at 20 meters. Very fast wifi
Review 62:I have no complaints Margaret Antrim
Review 63:Cleanliness when you arrived at reception , the room, the meal in galvally bristro and breakfast was 100%. The staff first class hwill be recommending to our friends. Only wish a lot of other hotels would be as good.
Review 64:The rooms are large and comfortable. The food is superb and the staff can't do enough for you. We have stayed here a number of times and have no reservation in returning.
Review 65:The bedroom side of the inn could have been warmer.
Review 66:Staff couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and attentive. I stayed with my elderly mother, and it was quiet and restful. The bistro food was top class and beautifully served. We would certainly visit again.
Review 67:The only down side is there is nowhere on site to have a drink and watch live sports so had to go to a different bar to watch a match i wanted to see then went back to the cromore for our meal.
Review 68:The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was big and very clean and the food was first class.will definitely be staying again and again.
Review 69:Friendly and clean at a good price what more does anyone need to say although one tip would be to put the heating on a bit sooner not complaining just letting you know :)
Review 70:Nothing!
Review 71:Location made it possible to walk into Portstewart although we are fairly fit! Room was quiet and was spacious. we enjoyed breakfast and the evening meal in the Bistro was good and value for money.
Review 72:On the second night of our three night stay, a group of young girls created a totally unacceptable noise in the bedroom next door until 5 am, including phoning our room at 4 am. Sadly this spoiled our break.
Review 73:The food and the service was excellent. Extremely friendly, helpful staff.
Review 74:Overall the cromore halt was very good and the level of the staff was very good as well really enjoyed our stay there. The food excellent and really could not fault the place.
Review 75:disturbance from floor above during the night.
Review 76:Friendly staff large, clean, comfortable room good food at a reasonable price side entrance close to room ground floor accommodation ample private car parking space
Review 77:Not much life about it at night it's a quiet Hotel, but its a good Hotel. There is a bar but it's more of a bistro setting. But it was fine.
Review 78:It's Warm comfortable and friendly, there is everything you need in the room. We had a Good spacious room too. Very enjoyable stay.
Review 79:Wish we had stayed 2 nights. Very comfortable accommodation in a stunning beachside location. Next time we will be bringing golf clubs. So much to do in the area. Jamesy in the restaurant bar area was great asset to Cromore . Restaurant food great and prices low. Couldn't eat all of the ri bs they were terrific.
Review 80:Lovely hotel with all the mod cons. Comfortable beds, blackout curtains and a delicious breakfast - warm croissants and real fresh fruit salad (could also have cereal or bacon, eggs etc). I really couldn't fault it in any way.
Review 81:nothing
Review 82:Great food and friendly staff. Spacious interior with lots of natural light giving the place a bright and cheerful appearance, and near to our first home.
Review 83:Decor a bit shabby but we were told this was being updated during the winter months.
Review 84:Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food very good. Room spacious and comfortable.
Review 85:All staff equally friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom spacious. Very informative guest info. Breakfast exactly as ordered. Wished we could have stayed longer.
Review 86:If I had any criticism it would be that it was a bit far out of the town centre, although this suited us.
Review 87:The room was a good size , very clean and bed comfortable , it has an excellent restaurant and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 88:did not have any dislikes apart from the way you had to order and pay for food at the counter of bistro much easier for staff to take order there was plenty of them
Review 89:cleanliness of cromore halt is excellant and service from all staff was good large room will stay here again
Review 90:A little bit on the far side from the beach and town centre.
Review 91:Massive breakfast. Friendly staff. Nearby shop. Massive dinner meals. Good wine. Excellent room with spacious ensuite.
Review 92:Room was located need an extracton fan at rear of building, constant noise. Requested an ironing board, reception said they could not bring to room so we had to carry 2 floors back to room. Service...?
Review 93:The hotel is on the edge of the town with ample parking. The sea front is a five minute drive and they Giants Causeway fifteen minutes along the scenic coast road. There is a shop next door.
Review 94:We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you. My only criticism would be that on our arrival we were not given directions on how to get to our room or that there was a lift, residents lounge etc. We found these things out ourselves. Every thing else was perfect.
Review 95:Staff very friendly and welcoming. They got to know you and gave it a relaxing feel. The room was comfortable and there was even a lounge with comfortable seats. Everything was clean and tidy and well presented with nice decoration. Close to plenty of attractions including National trust ones which as members suits us, and of course Portstewart itself with its lovely walks and ice cream shops. So impressed we booked to come back on our way out for a months time.
