Reviews for Best Western de La Poste

Review 1:For a 10/10, breakfast staff could perhaps speak a little bit more English to understand customer requests breakfast room lacked a latte/cappuccino machine

Review 2:Staff at front desk was extremely helpful and friendly in fluent English Great location. Rooms were clean and modern, comfortable and very well equipped.

Review 3:Great location, has a secure carpark, breakfast was very nice, the rooms and bathrooms were spotless. Staff are very friendly too. One of my favourite hotels!

Review 4:The parking was not in the same buidling as the hotel. It's a 2mins walk from the hotel.

Review 5:- Perfect location, right in the centre of the city. - Rooms were small, but modern and very clean. - The overall decoration of the hotel (equestrian style) was really nice. - Breakfast was OK.

Review 6:Very bad location due to the one way system in Troyes. It took us an hour to be able to get there. Staff was reasonably helpful but not really that interested in helping out. Bed was comfortable, room was very small with no view, bathroom was good enough and clean: not a 4 star hotel standard!

Review 7:We had a reasonably quiet night.

Review 8:Hard to park initially when checking in, we were lucky as it was a du day and quiet, but would find it difficult at a busy time.

Review 9:Convenient position. Car parking garage secure. Friendly staff

Review 10:A waiter spilled a glass of champagne (we from our bottle) and didn't offer to get us a new glass - he just poured it from our bottle.

Review 11:Hotel was immaculate. Couldn't fault it.

Review 12:There was some noise from the street during the night, but it wasn't a major problem.

Review 13:Great location in the heart of Troyes but with nearby parking.

Review 14:We arrived on the Sunday and I phoned ahead for the garage code as wehad booked this for the full stay all went well until Monday morningafter saying good morning to the staff on reception we went to the carand couldn't get in with the code given, I had to phone the hotel(costing me money on my mobile) and I asked if the code had been changedand the receptionist said very cheerily "yes that's right Ihave" and I had to ask for the new code no apology that we had notbeen told of the new code.

Review 15:We have stayed at this hotel many time, the last time being before therenovations and what a difference this has made, like a completely newhotel and a very good quality refurbishment, the lady who booked us inon day of arrival couldn't have been more helpful likewise when Iphoned a few days before to change the booking the guy on the desk wasalso very helpful.

Review 16:We had excellent accommodation and the staff were most helpful. This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and should we once again visit Royes we will stay at the Post House.

Review 17:The hotel was in a very good location, easy walking distance to good restaurants and bars. The car park wasn't on site, but not too far away and secure.

Review 18:Nothing particularly bad, breakfast was the most expensive we had experienced in our 3 weeks away but was of excellent quality. If you're not big on breakfasts there are cheaper options close by!

Review 19:Great location in the heart of Troyes with nearby (300m) secure parking. Hotel has a lovely contemporary feel and despite it's location our room was quiet. The bed was really comfy and the breakfast provided a wide range of options. We found all the staff really helpful. This was our second stay as we previously enjoyed a night here.

Review 20:That all parkingplaces in the hotell garage was occupied and I have to park in another garage

Review 21:The location was great and so was the room, bed, staf and the breakfast was the very best

Review 22:Nothing.

Review 23:Location. Historic building with Modern Decor. Seems quite recently refurbished.Bathroom was very functional- minimal but nice; good shower pressure; good lighting. Nice touches like mirror that de-mists after hot shower. Breakfast was the best we had in similar grade of hotel. Very friendly service especially from Theodora.

Review 24:Staff were very helpful. Ease and speed of check-in and out. Rooms are well-quipped with facilities for making a drink, a fridge, plus the small bottle of mineral water provided is a thoughtful extra.

Review 25:Fabulous location in the old part of Troyes. Secure garage nearby. Nice hotel; very clean; nicely decorated. Easy walking distance to everything. We stumbled onto this hotel two years ago and enjoyed our stay. This year we wanted to return to spend a little more time in Troyes and decided immediately to return to the Best Western Troyes.

Review 26:Parking code changed to that which was given to us by email. Not good when you are in a strange place and cannot get to hotel by car.

Review 27:Friendly helpful staff, took care to show us around the hotel, great showers, good comfortable beds & breakfast was excellent.

Review 28:We have stopped here for the last couple of year to break up the journey to and from the South of France. Hotel is wonderful and has friendly and helpful staff.

Review 29:Although alchoholic drinks were visible in a cabinet in the foyer/lounge, no one was there to serve them.

Review 30:Location is excellent in the centre square area. Our room overlooked a busy road, but was very quiet.

Review 31:Troyes is a lovely place for a stop over and the Hotel de la Poste is excellently placed to explore the historical city centre. The hotel itself is comfy, well staffed and well kept.

Review 32:Now this is being picky! The wifi does require you to sign in a lot. But that might just be me :-)

Review 33:Friendly helpful staff. They even had a little horse toy for my little girl! The hotel is very clean and the junior suit is excellent. It even has a tv I in the bathroom mirror. The location is excellent too. There is a bakery and cafe just over the road and the cafe does a great breakfast for €7.50. There are lots of restaurants in the main square which is 2 minutes away. The hotel is about 20km from a national park with swimming and watersports in one lake and motor boat and jet skis in the other lake.

Review 34:Parking is a problem. A very kind member of staff helped us, but all the side streets were full and the multi storey was almost impossible to get in and out of. Not the hotel's fault, but tricky.

Review 35:The staff were great and the hotel spotless. We had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed the beautiful walk-in shower. Thank you.

Review 36:Nothing really - not many facilities but good for stopover in centre of town. Parking was extra 10 euros and not by hotel, couple of roads over.

Review 37:Great room, comfortable bed, lovely huge rain type shower, english channels on TV, good free wifi.

Review 38:Brilliant location, right in the heart of the town so easy walk to all sites, Garage parking (additional cost) a real peace of mind option given a car full of holiday stuff

Review 39:We arrived late due to Calais being closed by industrial action. There was no staff available to lower the bollards so I could park and unload 4 passengers and their luggage, so I had to park in the road, holding up the traffic. I then tried to find the parking garage and the map supplied is hopeless. It tells you to drive staright ahead at traffic lights when there is a water fountain straight ahead. I would advise anyone arriving by car to avoid this place like the plague

Review 40:Good location, close to the old City

Review 41:Breakfast. Not being prepared on site means at peak time you are constantly waiting for item to be replenished.

Review 42:Perfect location, more than adequate for exploring Troyes

Review 43:Breakfast was poor, insufficient staff on duty and no bacon or egg

Review 44:Location. Troyes should be on everyone's bucket list, unless you don't like French food!

Review 45:Parking was fine, although it is about 100m away, so if you have lots of luggage and can't get one of the few spaces out front (we couldn't) it is a little bit of a bother. The room was fantastic, but the toilet was tiny and smelt of smoke. The room or bathroom smelt fine.

Review 46:The staff were very friendly, and touches such as having a water bowl full of water and a dog toy for our pet was a real nice touch. They made us feel very welcome, as did the restaurant they recommended us. Troyes is a lovely location and the hotel is situated perfectly.

Review 47:The initial check-in registration is somewhat difficult because there is very little parking in front of the hotel. However, once you do register, there is parking within a block of the hotel. The buffet breakfast was the best (by far) we had during our recent two-week vacation!

Review 48:We were travelling up from the South of France, we'd had a long day driving and made a last minute booking for us and our 10 month old daughter. The staff went out of their way to make sure the room was prepped, with travel cot, and even gave us a baby bath and baby travel toiletries. A nice touch that was appreciated.

Review 49:Excellent stay in this hotel except that six hours after I had left, aman telephoned me to ask if I had taken a bottle of CocaCola Zero fromthe mini bar. I hadn't of course (who would!) . No follow up call toapologise for their error.

Review 50:The receptionist was extremely welcoming and spoke three languagesfluently. She was particularly helpful as regards parking and advisingon restaurants.

Review 51:Super central hotel located directly at the central square, with good access to bars and restaurants. The hotel is a converted post office, with some remaining details which gives it a good atmosphere.

Review 52:Beaucoup d'escaliers. Le parking est pas à côté de l'hotel, et pas du tout adapté aux véhicules électriques.

Review 53:Design, propreté, kit kdo salle de bains, volumes.

Review 54:It doesn't have its own restaurant - but it is so central that this is not really a problem because you only need to walk for 2 mins and you have plenty of choice.

Review 55:I loved the decour and the style of the rooms.

Review 56:The Best Western car park is a couple of streets away but this was no real hassle. Wi-fi was adequate but like so many other hotels, they should provide better bandwidth.

Review 57:The hotel is in the heart of this attractive city with restaurants/cafes all around. The staff were very friendly and the room was spotlessly clean.

Review 58:Nothing

Review 59:The staff was extremely friendly and Mohammed kindly booked us a table in one of the best restaurants in town. Also our dog (labrador) was treated like a king !

Review 60:No restaurant and we were tired, therefore it would have been nice to have eaten in-house. Continental breakfast - simple Spartan offerings. Approach to bedrooms had strange walls, but it is old therefore perhaps the best that can be done.

Review 61:Central to Troyes: garage facility but not on doorstep owing to location, but perfectly fine: pleasing room: comfy bed: lovely shower room & separate WC. Clean! Quiet! For one night stay (or more) to visit the town, but for us on way towards Switzerland, a good choice and would certainly use again.

Review 62:The car park was good though it was a bit tricky to find as it isn't on the same road as the hotel. We ordered some food the first night we arrived and it was ok but not great.

Review 63:We received an excellent welcome surprise for our 2 dogs. In our room they had prepared 2 bowls with water, a ball, treats, poop bags and a map of the city with the parks where we could walk our dogs. The staff was helpful and friendly, facilities were good. Good breakfast even though was a bit pricey.

Review 64:We stayed in a junior suite it had everything you needed in it. Like nearly all French beds it was two singles together & firm. The staff where really nice @ helpful. The town is well worth a day or two so old & well proserved.

Review 65:Everything was perfect, good size room, clean, comfortable and best bit ever...they had a dog bowl with water, small bag of biscuits and a tennis ball waiting for our dog!

Review 66:Air conditioning didn't really become very cool in our room, had to open windows instead.

Review 67:Great location, secure parking. Refurbished to high standard. Good bathroom. Good bed. Nice touches, water bowl and treat for dog and bottle of water for humans.

Review 68:Clean modern hotel. Lovely bedroom. Excellent shower. Good location on edge of old town. We parked car at nearby public car park from fri 3pm until sat 9am. Only cost 3euros 50cents.

Review 69:On our return, the room was noisier, smaller and less well-designed. On our first visit, the carpark was a nightmare to find. We eventually took up the receptionist's offer to come with us - wish we'd done that in the first place!

Review 70:We liked the proximity to the sights and restaurants, the secure parking, the extremely helpful staff and the comfort of the first room we stayed in.

Review 71:Nothing really.

Review 72:Good location, private parking (although manoeuvering a large car in and out is a challenge), spacious comfortable room and reasonable breakfast.

Review 73:The bar was hard to extract a drink from!

Review 74:About as close to the center of the old town as it is possible to be. Very warm welcome and great rooms. The best value for money I have found in Troyes and the only hotel I will use in the future. Private secure parking only a 2 minute walk away which is very convenient once you have mastered the one way system which takes you there eventually. Get instructions in advance from the hotel. If coming from the motorway it is easier to garage the car first then walk to hotel entrance. Once you are parked outside the hotel you are committed to the one way system. Had breakfast at cafe on corner opposite so cant comment on this aspect.

Review 75:Parking was on walking distance from the hotel.

Review 76:Big clean room with a clean bathroom. Nicely neutral atmosphere/designed room. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Review 77:We stayed there on two occasions, once south bound (21/08) and once heading north(29/08). I didnt like the fact that I had two different accomodation rates for staying in exactly the same room (No 103).

Review 78:Excellent location for visiting the historic town. Hotel staff very helpfull. We had an early start so unfortunately didnt try the breakfast.

Review 79:The whole experience was good but the Hotel does not have its own restaurant. This means you have the choice of an adjacent Pizza restaurant which can be accessed via the hotel or you need to go out and choose a local restaurant. The ceiling beams were quite low in the bathroom and if you enjoy banging your head it is great but if you don't you may well go to bed with a headache.

Review 80:The whole experience was quite good.

Review 81:Easy access from the motorway, where given an upgrade,(Thank you)Very friendly and helpful staff excellent breakfast...Lovely clean room & bathroom.....We Will be back

Review 82:There is really good service in the hotel with high quality facilities and tidy room. And the position of the hotel is also quite nice. Just next to the city centre. Generally speaking it was really great value of money.

Review 83:Towels a bit old. to be tested if you get a room with windows over the avenue

Review 84:very quite rooms. extremely cleaned great staff extremely efficient. excelent location with good parking facilities

Review 85:The croissants at breakfast , but other than that it was a fabulous place to stay.

Review 86:The welcome and ease of check in by staff was appreciated after a long drive. The hotel has been recently modernised and the bedrooms were very comfortable. There is a very good Italian restaurant around the corner with an internal door back to the reception area of the hotel.

Review 87:Lovely, friendly hotel in an excellent location in the old town within easy reach of the main square and lots of cafes and restaurants, as well as the beautiful cathedral. Didn't eat in the hotel but they recommended a lovely restaurant round the corner. Rooms were modern and tastefully furnished, while retaining the old charm. Very comfortable overnight stay with older and younger children en route back home after a holiday in the south of France.

Review 88:Immediate confirmation of booking from hotel. Book parking. If you want a twin room ask for it at booking. Bar service until late. Great location for everything. Very comfortable rooms.

Review 89:Staff were terrific and helpful Rooms very tasteful and modern...recent renovation accommodates the quirks of older building without being 'artificial' or 'tacky' Bed linen very nice Bathrooms appealing Provided a treat in the room for my dog Would have never expected this from a Best Western

Review 90:Central location right next to the town square. Secure parking a short walk away. Masses of places to eat. Staff very helpful in stashing our wheelchair safely near reception.

Review 91:Breakfast was problematic: cold chocolate chaud, eating among tablesthat needed to be débarasser, no more bread; simply understaffedand/ or unorganized. Lived the newly decorated bathrooms, but thehair dryer was so unpractical and French: it was fixed to the wall at aplace that made it impossible to dry ans style your hair while lookingin the mirror!

Review 92:The location, the decor of the rooms

Review 93:The location is very central which is great. The staff are really friendly and so happy it is a pleasure to stay there. Breakfast is also excellent.

Review 94:paying for parking which we didn't know about and breakfast wasn't included in price of room.

Review 95:they upgraded our room to a jr. suite which was very comfortable. great location, however you do have to pay for parking.

Review 96:Expensive with breakfast on the expensive side too. Breakfast only served in bedroom as there is no restaurant.

Review 97:Staff very helpful and welcoming. Clean modern and fresh bedroom. Location in the centre. Easy access to restaurants.

Review 98:Right in the middle of town, and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 99:Quite a small room for a suite, but nicely finished

Review 100:Dog friendly, wonderful staff, secure parking

Review 101:Breakfast was expensive but there were lots of places for breakfast close by.

Review 102:Great location. Friendly staff.

Review 103:Brilliant helpful staff, especially Daniel who made the impossible possible!

Review 104:Inconvenient location for car parking

Review 105:Very good location for sightseeing

Review 106:Very good concept of décoration !

Review 107:View from room overlooking closed in flat roof but not a problem just for one night.

Review 108:Excellent location & helpful staff.

Review 109:Good location, nicely decorated and comfortable rooms, friendly staff and enjoyable if expensive breakfast

Review 110:Location and staff

Review 111:Staff member came with me to show me how to get to the parking station

Review 112:Everything: great and clean rooms, position, quietness, kindness of hotel staff

Review 113:The beds were very hard.

Review 114:Good location.

Review 115:Not a great bar/meeting area

Review 116:Fab location

Review 117:Very central location, comfortable, good value

Review 118:Staff were great. Very nice welcome. Good facilities in room.

Review 119:everything
