Review 4：Beautiful old house with charm. The owners were warm and welcoming and made us feel comfortable, at home. They took photographs of us, and responded to our interruptions cheerfully.

Review 6：It was very clean, very comfortable and everything I could have needed was there. The breakfast, I think, was the best I have ever eaten - the fresh fruit salad was beautiful. The location is so handy for the centre of Helmsley too.

Review 16：Very rude lady showed us to our very dated extremely over priced room , got our stay off on the wrong foot. Bad enough staying in very out of date room , but this woman was extremely rude and bad mannered on our arrival .

Review 18：Clean, comfortable room and excellent wifi - I was abe to watch Iplayer on my tablet with no problems. A good selection for breakfast. Helmsley itself is a pleasant market town and Carlton Lodge is just a couple of minutes walk from the main square.
Review 19：the room was very small. I wouldnt have wanted to stay more than a night. I paid for breakfast but there was nothing available before 8 and the landlady did not offer a refund or alternative.

Review 24：The location in Helmsley was conveniently close to the central market place with its pubs and shops, and a short walk to the start of the Cleveland Way. The rooms were extremely clean and pleasant and everything was very well organised. Service at breakfast was fast, friendly and efficient with a good selection of quality foods.
