Review 1：Found the bed a bit too firm for me. I have an arthritic hip and need a softer bed. Otherwise everything was superb.

Review 4：We received a very warm and friendly welcome, our room was decorated and furnished very tastefully. The wet room was beautifully done, even the towels were fluffy! The breakfast was to a high standard. We enjoyed our stay at Castle green and would recommend it to our friends and family.

Review 5：Our £90/night room was not cleaned during our stay! I mentioned this as my husband and I checked out and was told (presumably by one of the owners, though she never introduced herself) it was because we were still in the room at 10.30am, which was the only time she cleaned the rooms. I mentioned that we were just having a relaxing morning before leaving for the day and would have been happy to have vacated the room early if she had let us know it was the only time we could have our room cleaned. I then explained, that we left the room shortly after 11am and didn't return until 10.30pm that night, so it could have been cleaned during that time. Her haughty response was that she didn't know if we were in the room and didn't want to disturb us. She was regretfully quite rude, and attempting to blame us for our room not getting cleaned was absurd. As I told her at the end of our conversation, my husband and I would have preferred (at the very least) to have had a knock at the door at 10.30am to let us know it was the only time our £90 a night room could be cleaned.We also didn't appreciate that though the booklet in the room had endless rules for the guests, like how we needed to be sure to keep quiet (it was written as if we were in a school setting, not an semi-expensive B&B), we were woken up at 7.00am by the staff who were clanging dishes and laughing. The room was also very, very cramped and the bathroom was always damp. The breakfast tables were also so close together that when people were sitting next to you it was as if they were at the same table and one can barely squeeze through them to get out. They also only serve breakfast for 1hr 30min every day, which causes everyone who is staying there to eat at the same time.Honestly, there were many, many bad things about this place. Too many to name in fact. The location (within walking distance to Matlock) and the fridge were really the only good points.

Review 10：The room was excellent. Spacious, well appointed, spotlessly clean. Really couldn't find fault. Breakfast was just lovely, and tasted fresh, which is not always the case at some B&B's. John and Janet were model hosts, welcoming and warm.

Review 48：My hosts were warm, friendly and informative about the local area. The room was very comfortable and had perhaps one of the best sized shower cubicles I have come across in a B & B. The inclusion of a fridge that was silent was both a useful addition and therefore didn't disturb my sleep which is something I have never been able to say before. The B & B is about 5 minutes walk from Matlock town centre and is a good base from which to explore the county.

Review 54：Excellent spot for an overnighter or extended stay. John was very helpful in providing information regarding places to eat and or pubs worth a visit. The room was quiet and comfortable and breakfast next morning was well cooked and presented nicely.

Review 55：At night, I could hear a neighbor snoring. Every time someone turned a tap on, I was aware of the water force in the pipes, going on intermittently until after 10pm. This is a problem that they are aware of and being looked into.

Review 57：Stayed here for two nights on our weekend break to the Peak District. Quiet location with a short nice walk into the center of Matlock. The room was very modern and well equipped, we especially liked having a ceiling fan. The bathroom was large with a lovely walk in shower. Only thing missing in the bathroom was a stool. I like to sit down and dry my feet after a shower. It also may stop people walking into the bedroom with wet feet. Breakfast was delicious we had the full English both days. The sausage and bacon were particularly nice. Our hosts were charming and provided very useful information on places to eat. So great location, great room, great hosts. Would use again if we return to the Peak district.
