Reviews for Le Prieuré
Review 1:We stayed 7 nights at Le Prieuré and we really enjoyed it! Martin and Saskia were wonderful hosts - very welcoming and friendly. We were looking for a laundry service in the area, and since we didn't find one, Saskia offered to do it for us, eventhough it is not one of the services the place offers. The room is very large, the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is spacious. There is a large and very beautiful garden. We are looking forward to coming back to the Dordogne and staying again at this wonderful place!
Review 2:Stunningly beautiful place with an exceptionally peaceful atmosphere. Exceptional hosts providing well thought out facilities. Lovely, home cooked breakfast.
Review 3:Mosquito nets on windows needed attention. Although a plugin bug repellent was provided .
Review 4:Very friendly hosts. We bought food for afternoon picnics in the garden and our host provided cutlery and crockery. loved the garden and pool.. Nice quiet location. easy parking, Help yourself tea and coffee provided in the dining room all day
Review 5:Nothing not to like except due to weather, rooms were hot and a mosquito popoulation moved in. Ac would have made mema bit happier in 95 bdegree weather. More screens should be considered as well.
Review 6:Owners easy going, helpful, cheerful. Lovely place and very clean. Books, guiides, comfortable livingroom, self service tea and refrigerator wellstocked with drinks on an honor system.swimming pool well maintained.i would return!
Review 7:Ideal location to visit the Dordogne and Lot departments of France. Friendly owners, everything perfectly organized. Swimming pool in a nice and quiet garden.
Review 8:Martin and Saskia provide a wonderful, warm welcome in their beautiful home. Large peaceful garden, excellent breakfasts (especially the homemade jam) and spacious comfortable bedroom. Good info about local restaurants and attractions - the market in Souillac was a joy. We will definitely be back
Review 9:Nothing!

Review 12:Small hotel in a beautiful setting with personal attention from Saskia and Martin. The sprawling garden and pool allows for relaxing picnics in the garden. Rooms are spacious with all comforts necessary. Full breakfasts are served.
Review 13:Having to leave!!
Review 14:Everything was wonderful! The hosts were lovely and could not have been more helpful, offering advice and suggestions on places to visit and booking local restaurants. They clearly love the place and want others to enjoy it as much as they do. Our room was very spacious and comfortable but we did not spend very long in it because the grounds are so lovely and peaceful. We could not imagine a place more perfect for us to stay. We would recommend it to anyone.
Review 15:Exquisitely designed accommodation set in beautiful surroundings. Every need happily catered to by happy & generous hosts. The combination of style and comfort is often promised, but rarely delivered. At Le Prieure, Saskia & Martin show how it should be done !
Review 16:Nothing.
Review 17:Large room and bathroom/shower with sunny terrace overlooking the garden and pool.Lovely gardens with lots of chairs, tables and sun loungers with places in the sun and in the shade. Very good variety at breakfast in light sunny room. The proprietors were really friendly and helpful providing great information on places to visit and places to eat.Would definitely visit again...great value for money.
Review 18:The beds are quite firm.
Review 19:This hotel is located in an old priory with a large beautiful garden. It has lots of space to relax and a nice pool that is very welcome after a days touring through this area. The hosts are very charming and the decor is very relaxing.
Review 20:There were no dislikes, we liked everything about Le Prioure and the very kind and thoughtful owners.
Review 21:1. Superb hospitality 2. Wonderful ambience 3. Great breakfasts 4. Beautiful big garden with very good swimming pool and sun loungers. 5. Excellent peaceful location 6.Lovely big room with comfy bed.
Review 22:Mosquito bites! The rooms do not have mosquito barriers on the windows and, contrary to the description, no air conditioning. I would not want to stay here if it was very hot and we could not open the windows to get air in. My wife and I were bitten several times the first night after leaving the windows open. The hosts do provide plug-in mosquito killers but they are no use if you need fresh air. This is the only drawback in what is a fantastic place to stay.
Review 23:Le Prieure is a beautiful property in a lovely location run by a charming and welcoming couple. The rooms are very spacious with king sized, firm but comfortable, beds. The lounge and dining rooms are very comfortable and well equipped with crockery and cutlery to provide your own lunch or supper if necessary. Breakfast is excellent - especially the home baking! The gardens are extensive and well tended with lots of sunbeds and dining tables and chairs. The pool is small but perfectly big enough for a lazy swim. The location is very quiet and not far from Souillac which has plenty of amenities and facilities. This is a great base to explore the beautiful region.

Review 41:Staying at Le Prieurie was not unlike being invited to a well off friend's country house for a few days. A really beautiful home and garden and the hosts were warm and helpful....taking the trouble to make suggestions on where to go and booking a restaurant. A really memorable visit helped by the fantastic weather. Would love to visit again and be happy to recommend to a friend.
Review 42:Were not able to stay for longer.
Review 43:Wonderful hosts and beautiful old house and gardens with pool. The hosts were excellent at helping us plan where to eat and where to visit. They spoke German, French, English and of course Dutch as they are Dutch. Highly recommend.

Good breakfast; wonderful management; astonishingly beautiful grounds and location (we arrived in time for a gorgeous eruption of spring flowers). Large comfortable room. The owners were responsive and engaged, and helped us plan our daily itineraries to our best advantage. We would absolutely send our friends to Le Prieure.
Review 47:I can't think of anything, really....
Review 48:Very spacious and comfortable rooms. Breakfast fresh, sufficient choice. Location wonderful, the b&b is stylish and garden is amazing! The owners are extremely nice and friendly and really customer-focussed. I would recommend this to everyone, everything is present for a quiet and pleasant stay! Would definitely go back !!
Review 49:Maybe, to say something, there are no heating in the bathroom and is a little bit cold.
Review 50:All was excelent, big and beautiful rooms, good internet connection, charming place and house, good breakfast...
Review 51:Lots of stairs to rooms makes it difficult with luggage
Review 52:Hotel decor is very tasteful, breakfast is good, friendly for English-Speaking, owner gives good tips for nearby visits, WiFi is available in room
Review 53:Unfortunately the weather wasn't great but that wasn't our hosts fault! : ) But we enjoyed the stay nevertheless. Perhaps one suggestion - a little more choice for breakfast? Hot toast, eggs, fruit juice maybe?
Review 54:Saskia and Martin made us very welcome in their home (Chambre D'Hote) from the moment we arrived. The house is very attractive and our room was wonderful.
Review 55:Nothing! Apart from not being to stay longer :)
Review 56:We came here for 3 days for the end of our French holidays and loved it. Saskia and Martin were both very friendly and the breakfast was delicious every day :) The garden and swimming pool area were both They gave us lots of advice about the area and the good restaurants and we will definitely come back :)
Review 57:The atmosphere was magic, the chapel is always open and stocked with a good cd collection, the breakfast outside on the lawn was delightful, the location is central to the Dordogne and Lot valleys, the hosts were friendly, informative and thought of everything to make you feel at home. And the dog is welcoming too!
Review 58:You couldn't hope to find a better, nicer place than this! Le Prieure is situated on the other side of the river Dordogne in a tiny hamlet. The buildings are extensive and apart from chambres d'hôte, it offers gite accommodation. There is a small chapel, a swimming pool and beautiful peaceful gardens. They are a real bonus as you feel completely shut away from the world in your own green paradise. There are numerous reclining chairs, tables, sun umbrellas dotted about the garden. The breakfast room is a delight and included in the price. You can help yourself to coffee or tea during the day. Not only can you keep your own things in the downstairs fridge, it's also well stocked with white and rose wine boxes (the red is on top!) and help yourself to other drinks from the fridge (fill in the honesty list). The owners are very charming and make you feel welcome and at home - home from home in a paradise setting!
