Reviews for Summer Hotel Vuorilinna
Review 1:-No wifi in room and the block we are staying -we are lucky to be able to borrow kitchenware during our stay which is subjected to availability.
Review 2:- Nice breakfast - Good location - 4 person to share a toilet and kitchen. Not too bad ratio as for share.
Review 3:The reception staff was not very friendly or knowledgeable. The room really needs renovation. It is old and worn-out. The beds are soft and the pillows uncomfortable. There is no bedside lamp. The bathroom especially is in need of renovation. The toilet seat is loose and wonky. There is a pentry but no kitchenware. No wifi available. For half the price all this would be more acceptable (except the unfriendliness). It wasn't even yet the opera season.
Review 4:Savonlinna is a beautiful town and the hostel is close to both the town center and the nature. Restaurants, shops and sights are all at walking distance while the accommodation location is quiet and peacuful. The breakfast is served in Best Western Spa Hotel Casino and is hotel quality eventhough the rooms in Vuorilinna are not. The breakfast staff was nice and efficient. Parking is free.
Review 5:Nice, but pricing as in Nice (Cote d'Azur)
Review 6:Swimming pool at the day of arriving is great! Nice small studio in the kerrostalo with a lake view is nice.
Review 7:Breakfast was very average Spa opened at 2 pm, although in their webpage they say it's open also in the morning
Review 8:Excellent location and beautiful surroundings Everything works if you stay for one night and go to operafestival
Review 9:I was looking for a very long time reception.
Review 10:Leaving near the center of town, not so far from the Olavinlinna Castle and Cathedral Church. Good breakfast.
Review 11:There was a stove, refrigerator and kitchen but no pots, pans, cutlery to make anything.
Review 12:Te location is close to the market and a 20 minute walk to the Castle. The breakfast was very good and the reception staff were super helpful.
Review 13:If you are prepared to life in a dormitory, there is nothing you might dislike. Everything was very good. Student dormitories in Finland are very-very nice and cosy. A bit too expensive for a dormitory. 3-day-stay for a tourist costs as a month's stay for a student. But it is worth during the opera festival.
Review 14:This is actually not a hotel, but a student dormitory. But in Finland those are very comfortable. Especially this particular dormitory, because you can stay not in 10-room-flat, but in a 2-room-flat, where I stayed. The flat is very clean, you have all the needen linen and towels and a pack of shower gel, which is enough for a cosy night. Shared bathroom is also clean. There is a kitchen in the flat, where you can cook. Or you can have breakfast in the next hotel (which has actually shared reception with Vuorilinna) - Casino. The hotel is located on a shore of a lake, in a bay with yachts. A lovely place. 10 minutes walk to Olavinlinna - main sight.
Review 15:It was more like a hostel than a hotel. The Rom was dirty and the sheets were used and not changed before our stay. The Roos wasn ' t cleande during our three nights stay etc. Etc.
Review 16:I felt it was expensive but didn't realise we were there in festival time.
Review 17:Location and beautiful surrounding
Review 18:Breakfast won't excellent
Review 19:Excellent location at the island in the center of the city with nice spa and swimming pool.
Review 20:Too Close to have other people in the other room with the same kitchen
Review 21:The service in the reception seemed to be varying from good to poor.
Review 22:Location is very nice.
Review 23:Ratio quality price
Review 24:Breakfast
Review 25:No Wifi
Review 26:Everything worked smoothly. I came to the reception quite late, but it didn't matter. And the walking route in Sulosaari (an island right behind Casino-island) was just purely amazing - peaceful and calm. Beautiful sunset!
Review 27:The student room that we stayed in, was comfortable yet bathroom and day covers quite dirty. The hall and stairs were dusty and dirty.
Review 28:Location is great, close to the main casino is a plus, privacy is one very good point.
Review 29:This is a summer hotel accommodating guests in a student hostel. Roomshave space (even a kitchenette), but they are extremely basic and thusgrossly overpriced. There is no service until you go to the Casino Hotelat the end of the street. The saddest part was the breakfast, served atthe Casino for their guests. It defied all possible negative attributes.Yes, you got fed, but everything was of substandard quality. This is notFinnish hospitality! As a Finn, I felt sorry for the numerous foreignguests who were there for the Opera festival or otherwise.
Review 30:We actually got an upgrade to a 'sauna' room at the Spa Hotel Casino for EUR295 per night. We were expecting a LUXURY room for this price and we got the SHOCK of our lives when we stepped outside the elevator and the room was there, right in front of the elevator! The room was like from the 70s and very old. We couldn't sleep because the room is directly above the bar. The room is also directly below the sunroof and the curtain inside the room was too small for the window. We were supposed to have free wifi, it worked on Friday night when we checked in and it did not work for the rest of the weekend. This room should be changed into a storeroom. Even though we got a discount without us saying a word to anyone, the price we paid was still double the price of what the room is actually worth. We would not be recommending this hotel.
Review 31:Location by the river and a short walk across the bridge to the harbour (kauppatori)
Review 32:Rooms are a bit badly furnitured, no tv, no kitchen things, no micrro-ofen.
Review 33:the location is good and nice, parking free on yard of the hotel. Nice service of the staff, breakfest ok. Very suitable for opera-visitors, like we were.
Review 34:No TV. There were rooms empty in the hotel and they gave us last room
Review 35:We can use the instalations and was near center
Review 36:The design of the room looked quite old
Review 37:How close to the train station it is
Review 38:The breakfast is a bit disappointed. Not much varieties.
Review 39:Great Location. Very near to train station and market square. Walk to castle is about 15 min.
