Reviews for Hôtel l'Aigle des Neiges
Review 1:No fitness room; Cold sauna; Strange smell due to agressive cleaning supstances; Freshly squizeed orange juice for breakfast available on demand only.
Review 2:Perfect location; Nice and kind staff; Nice atmosphere; Nice rooms; Efficient ski room.
Review 3:Didn't like how the bottle of water in the room wasn't replaced daily and also there was no tea option in the room also.
Review 4:The location of the hotel was fantastic and the staff were friendly and very welcoming. On arrival and departure we had our car parked and brought to us and our bags taken to the room. Mojitos were very good also from the bar!
Review 5:It was quite noisy at night (probably due to central location) and our last night was pretty sleepless due to a wedding in the hotel - and we were on 2nd floor! Strong smell of fish from restaurants every night?
Review 6:Fantastically convenient. You can hire skis in the hotel and buy your lift pass and practically ski out the door. Spa and pool very nice and relaxing.
Review 7:Wifi, hopeless!!! It's a big issue for us as we have to keep in touch with our business. Heard others complaining too. Toilet smell, something wrong in that toilet, 203. Also, bath tap didn't work.
Review 8:Good room, lovely Staff, super breakfast and of course location great. Paul restaruant was a great experience. Comfortable, relaxing comon areas, bar and outside patio
Review 9:Services in the Spa: manicure was a joke: young lady, very helpful, did her first manicure, in a darkish cabine (relax !) for 105 EUR...
Review 10:Friendliness and professionalism of all staff members ! Highly recommended hotel.
Review 11:They have a problem with noise insulation. It didn't bother me because I wear earplugs but I could definitely hear a lot of sound from the other rooms and outside. The restaurants: The main one, where they offer breakfast and which seems great in the morning, was a morgue in the evening. My kids wanted to go there with the half-board eaters but we were told that there was no space as peered across all the empty tables. Instead we booked for the following night and were charged 30 euros each for one course of rather unpleasant food. My 8 year old wanted prawn risotto (she loves prawns which I cook fresh at home) The prawns were chewy and quite unpleasant. The pasta was basically pasta with tomato sauce on which was a good sauce but not at that price! We didn't bother to try Paul because there was no reason to think it would be any better. They both look very soulless. The 'live' bar music 3 nights a week consisted of a bored girl behind a mixing desk editing beats. The music was fine but there was no atmosphere in the bar. It is a lovely space and they could do with simply lowering the lighting to add some ambience. It's too stark at the moment. The cappuccinos are 6 euros. I was shocked until I found out that's a fairly standard price for coffee there. They would do well to offer a social room for the many children and then restrict access to the pool to certain hours. It's very hard when my children want to socialise with other guests and the only place to congregate is a pool where older guests glare at you constantly for letting your children laugh.
Review 12:The staff were much nicer than previous reviews indicated. Good rooms, bathrooms fine, good shower pressure. Nice modern fittings, good spa with a range of options. Boot room easy to access with easy departure to get to slopes. The guys in the boot room are a bit teenagerish but perfectly pleasant. Very helpful concierge who booked a couple of good restaurants for us (The Blizzard and La Baraque were particularly delicious) Also Perdrix Blanc has great seafood. Good breakfast with helpful staff and just the right atmosphere.
Review 13:the smell coming from the restaurant cooking meat and shrimps on the open stone in the evening. Instead of the nice smell of wood you would expect from an alpine hotel, you had to endure the above, when you drank a tea or liquor at night at the bar. They should change this restaurant to a sushi or an italian one
Review 14:Location, breakfast
Review 15:Restaurant management was poor. Food choice limited and fairly expensive. Breakfast was often overcrowded and poorly organised. Very bad experience in the Paul restaurant the night we went.
Review 16:Location, style and facilities. Reception and Bar staff were excellent.
Review 17:Wifi broke down on the last day when I stayed in to work and reception was helpless in getting it repaired. Also I understand that there were guests checking in after us and they had toget the room ready but I asked for an hour late checkout to 1pm and was denied. Seems quite arbitrary when things are possible or not but in general look forward to coming back.
Review 18:Came back after staying at the beginning of March and really enjoyed it. Room was again nice and clean, the downstairs ski rental is perfect and very helpful, the spa is fantastic-treatments were worth the money and lovely. Still have not managed to try the hotel restaurant since their concierge service helped us find local treasures. The shuttle service to the restaurant was perfect as well!
Review 19:Customer service was hit and miss. Some outstanding but others particularly the restaurant staff at breakfast were rude and unhelpful.
Review 20:Location, facilities the ski shop and staff were top class as was the spa
Review 21:Great location, meters from the slopes and central village. Ski hire exclusively for the hotel, located inside the hotel. Spa facilities where just what you need after Skiing. Complementary shuttle service for around the village tipped it all off and was very useful. Live music at the bar most evenings.
Review 22:None.
Review 23:Really comfortable and spacious rooms with easy access to all facilities including a hotel ski shop (run by Ski set) and lovely basement spa and swimming pool. All staff were very friendly and attentive. If eating at hotel both breakfast and evening meal selections are great. Its also just a few metres from the slopes and if enough snow you can ski back to the ski shop.
Review 24:The only negative was the breakfast coffee, too strong for our taste.
Review 25:Central location, almost ski to the door, short walk to lifts. Staff friendly and efficient.
Review 26:The evening dinner from the 44 euro set menu was awful. Three of us hardly touched the starter and even the steak was poor. Stay here but eat somewhere else!
Review 27:Poor choice in restaurants, VERY NOISY (street noise etc.), and some of the reception staff members were REALLY rude and unhelpful.
Review 28:Location is excellent. Great facilities: rooms, spa, ski shop, bar.
Review 29:Noisy, drunken, UK guests. This was no fault of the hotel, but beware behaviour of some English skiers who can spoil an otherwise perfect stay.
Review 30:Everything about the hotel was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Val d'Isere.
Review 31:Spa is only small and on nearly every visit overrun with small children . Nice to see them having fun but not very relaxing !!
Review 32:Hotel is located next to the slopes and ideally located to the town centre . Stayed before before it was refurbished and to be honest preferred it as it was !!
Review 33:Because of the great location, the noises of the street outside are very annoying during the night
Review 34:Great hotel The best service ever Excellent location Best value for money
Review 35:Bed awful, hard, narrow and uncomfortable. Room quite small
Review 36:Fab location, easy access to slopes and High Street but nice an quiet. Food great, staff very nice and helpful and Spa lovely
Review 37:Far too expensive for what it is. average breakfast buffet except the chaussons aux pommes. No fresh juice. Bed is too hard. Basic electric heating. Bedroom's terrasse needs painting.Must have forgotten the toilet decoration, just a painted Box. The pool temperature water is not warm enough. Should also create a sas to prevent cold draft entering the spa.
Review 38:The view on the ski slopes from the room terrasse. Convenient ski rental within the hotel. Very close from the slopes. Great location in village center. Large hammam and sauna. Friendly and smiley welcome at spa.
Review 39:We booked half board but the evening menu was limited and no children's menu, we ate out ever evening and the hotel would not refund the evening meal cost, next time we stay we will only book bed and breakfast
Review 40:I had to move rooms after the first night because of the noise of people banging cupboards doors after midnight. The cupboard doors are a poor design. They tend to close with a bang making a lot of noise in the adjoining rooms.
Review 41:All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. When I asked for a room move because of noise it was done the same day.
Review 42:Everthing Was Brilliant!!
Review 43:Slightly noisy outside
Review 44:Great staff
Review 45:Sauna at the spa has a real draft in it, too cold!
Review 46:Staff, location, nice rooms, good spa
Review 47:Situation, personnel, service.
Review 48:Size of our bedroom, it was too small for all our ski stuff and us!
Review 49:All of the hotel was great except the size of our bedroom.
Review 50:Not enough suit case space or benches.
Review 51:comfort & location
Review 52:Some of the staff were not very helpful.
Review 53:Room was very nice. Close to the 'down town' area and ski lifts. Included breakfast also good.
Review 54:Was disappointed to find that hot water was not very hot, nor was it plentiful.
Review 55:Location, spa, food, decor
Review 56:helpful staff great ease of access skis on site boot storage great
Review 57:no fitness
Review 58:No wifi for the whole of our stay.
Review 59:Really lovely hotel
Review 60:Good facilities and excellent staff in ski shop.
Review 61:Loved our stay. Great breakfast, room with comfy bed, great staff and triple A lication for skiers. Very helpful staf. Warmly recommended!
Review 62:Booking just B&B meant we could never get a table in the restaurant at night!
Review 63:Some staff members
Review 64:Location
Review 65:Room was't cleaned and serviced until very late in the day, which was not good for my wife who was not skiing.
Review 66:Very good location and service.
Review 67:Breakfast is chaotic when they are busyand the management of the ski room is poor.
Review 68:Great location and very comfortable rooms
Review 69:no room service after 10pm. breakfast ends early. Ski boot warmers are not working.
Review 70:location is very good.
Review 71:Nothing
Review 72:Everything
Review 73:The rooms are only partly renovated and poorly equiped
Review 74:Hotel at a very central spot Service in the hotel: spa, ski shop Nice breakfast
Review 75:Staff were great. Spa is excellent. Location is perfect for the slopes.
Review 76:dirty bathroom
Review 77:location
Review 78:Fantastic experience and great location. Extremely friendly and helpful staff throughout the stay. Food excellent. Would highly recommend. Thankyou.
Review 79:Expensive bar
Review 80:Location, staff, facilities
Review 81:No vegetables in breakfast
Review 82:The staff were great!! The ski shop inside the hotel is very helpful!!!
Review 83:breakfast always ran out of products Junior suite could have TV up stairs as well, for the money...
Review 84:friendly staff Bar is nice
Review 85:Excellent central location nearly ski in ski out. Good ski room facility. Spacious bedroom/bathroom. Garage available at additional cost. Friendly staff throughout.
Review 86:Breakfast prices a bit on the steep side, however good quality products and very good service
Review 87:Very close to the slopes, nicely renovated hotel. Very attentive staff really looking after their guests (luggage, parking, airline tickets). Comfy beds, good size rooms and nice bathrooms.
Review 88:This is an all round solid hotel with an excellent location almost at the bottom of the main lifts. The staff were fantastic, as was the overall hospitality. I will definitely stay here again.
Review 89:The wifi was inconsistent.
Review 90:The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was of a high standard and represented good value for money compared to other properties in the locality.
Review 91:No taxi or help to get to the busstation with my luggage. Surprised to have to do it myself-with some help from some youngsters in the village. How can a hotel of this standard provide so poor sevice?
Review 92:The staff is very friendly. Nice rooms!
Review 93:Room including bathroom was just about big enough for two. Nice they had an underground car park with good valet service but not cheap to have this luxury. Wi fi was not easy to reconnect.
Review 94:Very helpfull staff, especially in the ski room. They made it easy to drop off and collect skis and boots. Great central location near to main ski lifts as well as shops and restaurants. We did not use the restaurant so can't comment on the food etc. We would definitely use this hotel again.
Review 95:Reception desk were not well versed in dining options and so could offer little direction. However they were always available to make reservations or fulfill any hotel guest request.
Review 96:Well situated at the base of the ski center and walking distance to all important shopping and dining options. The hotel was very comfortable and the service was excellent.
Review 97:Wifi a nuisance to contact, looking for passwords, had to go to desk for them. Very annoying indeed.
Review 98:Hotel excellent location. Concierge very helpful with arranging airport transfers. Ski staff excellent and equipment very good. Spa staff( Pauline) excellent.
Review 99:The restaurants were a bit uninviting and quite empty while we were there for christmas 2013. Not as cosy as some of the other restaurants in the village.
Review 100:Amazing staff, perfect location by the slopes and 2 min by foot to the heart of the village. Great stay.
Review 101:Buffet breakfast charged at 24 euros per head, fresh orange juice 8 euros extra! No coffee making facility in our room until last day. We paid extra for a superior room which consisted of a chair in the space taken up by what would have been a balcony, our kids had a standard room which was identical other than they had a balcony. I am still waiting for a reply to an emailed query which has now been chased.
Review 102:The location is superb, we knew this before we booked. There are some very clever design ideas at the hotel which are an inspiration.
Review 103:Only thing I can say is the breakfast staff could be more observant with what is going on with the individual tables eg. clearing, offering coffee I realise breakfast is not a-la-carte but this small thing could, in my opinion, contribute to making an excellent hotel almost flawless!
Review 104:Staff were generally very helpful. Breakfast was excellent if expensive. Good rooms. Ski room is good.
Review 105:I got burnt in the bathroom with the radiator. Pillows were cheap cotton pillows and no alternative was available. No conditioner in the bathroom. Hair-dryer very poor quality. Draft from the window. Pool with cold water.
Review 106:Staff was very kind
Review 107:Didn't like the look of the communal areas bar restaurant etc. So never used these parts.
Review 108:Clean comfortable accomodation, in good location with helpful staff
Review 109:Room was a little run down and not well looked after, dirty carpets and curtains. Quiet expensive, not much included in the price. I would think that like many people I would have used more of the facilities were they not so expensive. A bottle of water at 5euro that costs 1.20 across the road and 7 euro for a cappuccino is taking the piss.
Review 110:Location is very good. Staff were friendly.
Review 111:I thought the interior design of the bar area was very ugly andunwelcoming. Too much chocolate brown, with hideous pink lights and limegreen ceiling. Very oppressive. I cant think of a more ugly hotelinterior. Shame you did not stick to your theme of natural and ecofriendly. It could have felt a lot more frendly and relaxing with betteruse of colour and natural materials. I also think the breakfast wasoverpriced. Fine if you ate a full breakfast, but there should have beena cheaper option. 19 euros for a cup of coffee and bowl offruit/yoghurt was excessive.
Review 112:Nice room. Friendly staff.
Review 113:Slow internet. Breakfast can be better for 19 €. Room standard don'tlive up to price level.
Review 114:This Hotel have a very nice and cosy bar area. This Hotel have a reallygood location. Very nice staff in Hotel ski store area.
Review 115:Hotel parking is small. I had the car valeted on my arrival. On myearly departure I the desk person could not retrieve the car so I hadto perform the task. When I arrived in the garage in could see whythe parking is so small it took 15 minutes to navigate between carsand columns. Other than this the stay was wonderful and I wouldrecommend to others
Review 116:Pure service, very dark colors, no food at all from 11 am till 19.30. No support in case if somebody is getting ill. Very high prices for everything at the hotel.
Review 117:Location close to lifts
Review 118:Nothing! we loved everything about it
Review 119:Everything! The service was amazing, the facilities were outstanding and our room was so nice we hardly wanted to leave it! The location was also absolutely perfect and so was the ski service. Thank you to all the team for such a great service. We'll be back.:-)
Review 120:The price of food and drink was very expensive.
Review 121:The hotel was situated extremely close to the slopes, and the service the hotel offers is great, especially the guys in the ski room.
Review 122:Rooms where small and overpriced. Rooms where tired and not 4star. Wehad to move rooms as 1st was simply too small for 3 persons and had onetiny window. Do not accept a room on the 5th floor it's an attic and inmy view an overflow used by the staff.
Review 123:Location to slopes is excellent / 10 feet away and really friendly staffin boot room - even help you get ones boots on!Good restaurant / expensive. Bar ok, bands play soft rock/jazz if that's your thing - they could have been a bit more lively - hence why this hotel bar is not on the "hot" list, which probably is a good thing if your looking for some R&R after a hard ski!
Review 124:Modern designer hotel, clean, with great staff. In particular, the ski team downstairs with a great attitude. Extremely convenient and efficient way of handling skis, boots etc.
Review 125:Our only minor issue was the set up in the junior suite. We had ateenage son downstairs on the fold out couch and when the bed was openedthere was not much room to pass and our loft bed upstairs offered noprivacy. However we managed and enjoyed our room nonetheless. Thebathroom was modest but nice.
Review 126:The Staff were amazing, we loved the convenience the ski room andservice offered. It was a ski in ski out and wonderful. We loved thejacks bar and the nightly entertainment. The staff were helpful andextremely accommodating. The spa and pool/steam room were great. Thetreatments affordable and professional. The hotel was very clean as werethe rooms.
Review 127:1) No coffee machine in the room - definitely need one in every room2) Paul restaurant menu definitely need an update and upgrade too
Review 128:Evening and night program - live music with piano and sax (Samir andNikolya are very good!)
Review 129:WiFi was patchy and erratic. Spa's sauna and wet-sauna require you towear trunks, which is poor for hygiene.
Review 130:Well positioned for quick access to the skiing, the staff were veryfriendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet substantial and the baratmosphere in the evenings was very good. Rooms are compact butadequate. The in-house ski shop service was excellent.
Review 131:cold breakfast
Review 132:Lack of sky tv
Review 133:The afternoon teas and the spa/swimming pool
