Review 2：The staff were really helpful and attentive without being intrusive. The hotel was comfortable and the rooms were not oppressively hot!!

Review 14：The Executive Deluxe Double room was really lovely ,quiet, very comfortable bed and very clean. The food and service in restaurant was excellent and would recommend having a meal here.

Review 15：There was a great choice of breakfast, but the cooked foods were cold by the time we sat to eat it.. Hot food needs to be kept at higher temperature, while guests serve themselves.. Also staff around the hotel, seemed very dour. The atmosphere wasn't friendly..

Review 17：Just an overly bad feeling, maybe this comes from the management? Poor natural lighting in the rooms. Feels Like it's ran like a 1980's guest house, not a modern hotel. Near the road so inside or outside you can't escape the traffic noise.

Review 27：Very pleasant hotel staff who were helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant. The food was well-presented, reasonably priced and all the staff without exception were personable and efficient.

Review 28：The guy on the desk when we arrived was really rude and wanted to take more money off us that evening say it's extra 40 pound for the room we wanted..when we had already paid the full balance. When we said no he was rude.

Review 33：It was noisy late at night, they added tips to everything as far as if you wanted your dinner outside there was a charge , the rooms had no Aircon or fan , and where uncomfortably hot , no water in the room, had to ask for it and then got charged for that too, wouldn't go again

Review 71：Excellent location, close to every place in Essex we needed to go. Lovely area. The building was well laid out and incorporated the old house with the newer hotel exceptionally well. The rooms were spacious, extremely clean, and quiet and restful. The building work in no way disturbed or inconvenienced our stay, you would hardly know there was any construction taking place. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the night staff. Would stay there again and would recommend.
