Review 111：Being 'told off' for checking in after 7.30pm as check in closes at 7.30pm in the winter. I have stayed in many hotels and never heard of this.

Review 124：Just back from an overnighter and we were well impressed by the Anchorage. Upon arrival we were greeted in a friendly, welcoming manner. We were directed to our room on the first floor. There was even an offer to carry our bags. The room was quite small but was warm and cosy. The furnishings was quite new and contemporary in style. There was a double and a single bed in our room. They were extremely comfortable an the bed linen was crisp, white cotton. There was a large flat screen TV on the wall for those who are interested. Bathrobes and slippers are also provided for use. The bathroom was small but functional. It was spotless clean and was well stocked with toiletries. As we stayed on a Sunday night events in bar downstairs were quiet. I read reviews saying the place was noisy, but on our stay this was not an issue. I did however find ear plugs in the bedside cabinet if it was to be noisy. We had a meal in the bistro and it was tasty. It was good value too. Only improvement I could suggest for it is to replace the pre-packed chilled chips for hand cut ones. Not a complaint, rather a suggestion. To sum up we had a really relaxing trip to the quite classy Anchorage. We can't comment on the noise some has experience but I do know it is a popular nightspot so I'm sure it is quiet possible. We will be back again but probably not at the weekend when the bar would be at it's busiest.

Review 128：We decided last minute to book in rather than forego drinks at a meal in a restaurant elsewhere in Portstewart. We had our newborn with us and specified so when booking. The Anchorage phoned immediately to confirm whether or not we needed a cot and to make sure we knew there was entertainment which could be loud. We were aware of this as it was clear when booking but appreciated them checking. We arrived around 11pm and were heartily welcomed by a female door employee ( loved the baby). Room was well equipped and clean. Noise from downstairs wasn't bad at all. Slept very well.

Wewere placed on the second floor and the level of noise experienced washorrendous to the point it was 2am before we finally got to sleep andthat was with my 9 yr old. The whole room shook with the music. So tostate there may be some noise is inaccurate. I will definitely not stayat this hotel again
