Reviews for Hotel de La Promenade
Review 1:Rooms perhaps need modernising but acceptable
Review 2:Lovely location in the heart of a traditional small French town. The man in reception was very pleasant and helpful.
Review 3:Note check in is not before 5.30pm and staff are very rude about asking to check in earlier. When I booked 2months before I requested quiet room, but got the noisiest room in the hotel on the street.
Review 4:Old fashioned, but we knew it on beforehand. At arrival we did not order breakfast. Luckily we saw on the info paper we got that we had to cancel breakfast before 2200 otherwise we were assumed to take it. This is the opposite world and not user friendly. We finally did take the breakfast, it was with Original tast, but less than we are used to in same price category. And only bing able to log on into the wifi with 1 apparatus per room is really outdated.
Review 5:Location in the centre, so ok
Review 6:Balcony table and chairs were not clean. The breakfast was dire with plastic plates which were portioned, the croissants were uninviting. The cornflakes was the only cereal The coffee was good.
Review 7:Good location and big balcony which we did not expect.
Review 8:Hotel has no parking; need to park in public car park close by - we had no problem but always a worry for us. Reception doesn't open until 17:23 (!) to receive guests. Breakfast was a bit of a scrum and the plastic trays with sections rather than crockery was a bit unpleasant.
Review 9:The manager/owner is very friendly. Bedroom was large and had air-con. In centre of very nice town with plenty to see and lots of restaurants.
Review 10:Nothing, it was lovely.
Review 11:Everything. The owner and his family have a great eye for detail, from the decor to the beautifully presented breakfast the whole experience was lovely.
Review 12:Bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Everything needs updating as it looked like my grandmother's bedroom. Bathroom facilities need updating and had a very thin towel and a Tea towel! Breakfast was poor.
Review 13:Friendly greeting on arrival. Plenty of free parking.
Review 14:Asked for a child bed, when we arrived said had no child bed & three of us had to sleep in a small double bed for two night. Then upgraded us to a bigger room but had to pay extra for this even though not our mistake! New room had horrible drainage smell, not nice.
Review 15:Hotel in good location and had wifi.
Review 16:Couldn't gain access to the hotel until 16:30 following arrival at 08:00 after a long nights' drive. Should have read the check in times first so not the hotels fault. Just be aware that you may have to wait if you arrive early.
Review 17:Central to all local amenities. The room was lovely with great views. Clean as a whistle.
Review 18:the airplane like method of receiving breakfast - this is also not a 'super' buffet as described. No way of obtaining any sort of drink outside of breakfast.
Review 19:the location and the friendliness of the staff
Review 20:Too bad that serving meals in your lovely dining room is reserved to groups. Serving meals on the premises would be a plus avoiding us to look for a restaurant after a busy travel day.
Review 21:We appreciated the friendliness of the staff, the convenient location in the middle of the city. Our room in the rear was very quiet despite a noisy fair close by.
Review 22:The breakfast buffet was meagre. Coffee kept hot for hours in a thermos flask is unpalatable; a self-service coffee-making machine would produce coffee more aromatic. Tea (although self-service, from tea-bags) was made unpalatable by the veil of lime-scale on the boiled water.
Review 23:I'd asked for a quiet room to the rear of the hotel, and that request was granted; there was no noise either from outside or from inside the hotel. Air-conditioning was efficient; the bedroom and bathroom were impeccably clean. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Review 24:No evening meal
Review 25:Location, clean room, nice breakfast. Good friendly staff
Review 26:The welcome.
Review 27:good location, good value. staff most helpful.
Review 28:I was most disappointed when I was told that evening meals were not available to residents even though they were serving groups or parties
Review 29:The helpfulness & friendliness of the proprietor & all the staff.
Review 30:The owners were so friendly on our arrival and all the staff helpful throughout.
Review 31:Hair dryer fell apart when I went to use it.
Review 32:Helpful staff. Elevator. Decent size room. free parking behind hotel.
Review 33:Street is busy.
Review 34:Good breakfast value. Easy in and out for one night stay.
Review 35:Breakfast options can be better
Review 36:Friendly staff, ample parking, shopping, resturants etc
Review 37:Room was really dark and desperately in need of updating.

Review 47:The staff were very helpful and the room clean
Review 48:Friendly host, small and terrible bed, breakfast very average, but it's cheap so you get what you pay for. Next time I would spend 50 euros more
Review 49:restaurant not open for evening meals
Review 50:acccessability
Review 51:Heating was only available via a/c.
Review 52:Incredibly cheap stay through booking.com special rate. Very clean and friendly service. Hot showers with great water pressure. Well located with excellent dining across the road.
Review 53:Hotel was easy to find, with parking around the corner. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room comfortable , clean and warm, and the breakfast great. What they offered usually costs twice the price or more
Review 54:-10 € for breakfast - much too expensive ( we hesitated about going to find a café/boulangerie) -Towels a bit thin, smaller ones more like teatowels - No soap dispenser next to the shower head.
Review 55:The room was spacious and very clean. Nicely decorated. The personnel were very pleasant, helpful and welcoming. We had a back room, so despite being town centre, didn't hear any traffic - worth the 5€ extra. Apart from breakfast we didn't try the bar/restaurant.
Review 56:breakfast too expensive, but fortunately there are a number of less expensive cafè in the nearby
Review 57:Although the building looks a bit tired, the room is very confortable, clean and cosy. Personnel very friendly. Large public parking, not far
Review 58:The hospitality shewn by Didier and Cecile was excellent. They were friendly and most helpful. Our car experience needed the touch of a linguist of the area and their efforts provided much support to us.
Review 59:The landlord was extremely welcoming and friendly. Everything was smooth and efficient yet very personal, even down to the personalised envelope containing keys to the hotel. Large clean bathroom and efficient air conditioning made the visit in extremely hot weather a pleasure.
Review 60:Friendly, helpful staff. Location across from old church and belfry, also information centre. Close to river walks. Recommended to restaurant at base of belfry. Food delicious. Good choice of food and drink for breakfast in hotel.
