Reviews for Hotel Mont Vallon

Review 1:The room was not great, small we felt, though we were told it was normal by French standards by the reception staff. The mountain view was a view of an apartment block and above it mountain peaks. However we could wave at the people entering and leaving the apartment block if we left our curtains open. Good sport!!

Review 2:The hotel location is great for exploring the whole 3 valleys ski area

Review 3:Very nice breakfast, Lovely served, 5 course dinner. Cozy bar. Very kind and helpful staff. I had a bad ski accident, checkout earlier and didn't have to pay the remaining days. We appreciated very much and will go back for sure.

Review 4:Great location Great team Great food

Review 5:I could not get my mobile to work in my room and the wifi was a joke.

Review 6:The food

Review 7:Pool & leisure facilities very tired

Review 8:Location to slopes

Review 9:pool was a little chilly

Review 10:food was good

Review 11:Quite expensive

Review 12:Great location. Great food.

Review 13:They need to upgrade the internet debit. Many guests complained about this.

Review 14:WiFi speed

Review 15:Location Staff Restaurants

Review 16:Very expensive particularly the drinks.

Review 17:Good location, Wonderfully cosy and atmospheric lounge/bar area and food was exceptionally good.

Review 18:The taps on the shower in the sauna were reversed so cold came out of the tap marked hot and vice versa. Having told reception, a warning was displayed on the shower but the taps had already been fixed so it was still wrong! One wall of the shower was cracked all the way down and had obviously been like that for ages. Wifi reception was almost non existent. Being told that it was now better than last year was no consolation. This is completely unacceptable given the room rate. The impression is one of a hotel where the management simply take the money and do nothing at all to repair and update the facilities; exactly the same as Ducs de Savoie last year. Whilst the food in the restaurant is good, the wine list is ridiculous, just another opportunity for money grabbing. The management let the staff down.

Review 19:The location was excellent, the staff charming and dinners very good.

Review 20:wifi was non existent, did not connect to any of my devices (3) which work in every hotel in the world, also at the airports on the way out and immediately i arrived at Geneva on the way back. On 1st day other guests said the same. They must sort this as whilst it was a holiday a lot of people need some internet now to keep in touch.

Review 21:staff good, room good sized, clean and hotel well run.

Review 22:The rooms were very hot and we needed to keep the windows open for a long time in order to get them down to a reasonable temperature. I agree with the comment about the price of wine. Also I did not like the huge hike in price in the restaurants on New Year's Eve. We were travelling with teenagers and so lobster etc was unnecessary on the menu. This party menu could have been optional? As we had already paid for a 'normal' dinner, we did not see why we should go elsewhere, but the huge price supplement was annoying.

Review 23:The location, cosiness, decor and bar were all excellent. We also enjoyed breakfast (but for the price, cooked breakfast should have been included.) The pool was good but quite chilly! The staff generally tried to help, booked ski passes and lessons and had high standards. 'Isabelle' was particularly friendly. The food in the Chalet restaurant was very good and the desert buffet was impressive. On New Year's Eve the staff made a big effort with decorations etc (but see opposite for prices in restaurant).

Review 24:There was a rather unpleasant smell in the corridors. Think it was from swimming pool.

Review 25:We loved the ski in/ski out position next to the lifts. The food was excellent in both restaurants. The staff were friendly and made you feel special.

Review 26:The management of the hotel is not ok. Many friendly staff are notmanaged and the service truly suffers from this. Winelist is overpricedand not very good. They recommend us "blanc sport" as a goodrental shop for skis and they are way overpriced. The sauna, hammam andpool aren't clean. No wireless in the rooms, only overpaid servicein the lobby. Breakfast buffet soso. Of all the leftovers from theextensive desertbuffet, nothing is proposed to guests at the end of aday skiing. And all this for a hotel which is part of a groupAlp'Azur hotels seems unbelievable.

Review 27:Cosiness of rooms, restaurants, bar and friendly staff

Review 28:Rooms too warm. (not a major problem)

Review 29:Friendly, helpful staff. Good Breakfast. Easy access to skiing.

Review 30:the food is ok, not more. it is somewhat overpriced
