Reviews for Résidences Village Montana

Review 1:Boot room lockers too small to accommodate 4 snowboarders

Review 2:Location is great as long as there is snow cover. Otherwise it isn't really ski in in ski out.

Review 3:Tiny rooms, smaller than 1 or 2 star motel, not enough room for a side table in bedroom. Not enough room to stand next to the side of the bed in room. Poor standard of fittings and fixtures. Poor value for money. Do not stay here, there are far better places for less.

Review 4:Good location. Smart reception.

Review 5:The accommodation is tired and the pictures are not a fair representation of this. For example neither bathroom had a proper shower, only a hand held shower head.

Review 6:Location very good as right on ski slope

Review 7:Very small self-catering kitchen (but we managed) Smell of smoking around the complex

Review 8:Location for Tignes summer sports Spa facilities Value for money (in summer, much more expensive in winter) Great views from the balcony

Review 9:Wifi was a big poor. The shower was not hands free. But that's a really small things that did not effect our enjoyment.

Review 10:Fantastic apartment, really well equipped. Everything we reported was dealt with quickly (bulb not working in corridor). The room was clean and comfortable, the view was outstanding. Great location in a fantastic resort. So much going on. Staff were very welcoming and we really enjoyed our stay.

Review 11:The staff doesn't necessarily know English that we'll, so complex requests may not be that easy to communicate. The beds were single beds and quite uncomfortable.

Review 12:The hotel complex is big, and the main facility has a great pool and spa area, that guests can use for free. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The apartment was clean, well positioned and warm.

Review 13:the rooms upstairs were noisy, we could hear the people talking and walking. The parking at the hotel isn't free, and costs EUR 6 / day.

Review 14:Clean, spacious, and conveniently placed. They also gave us the Tignes sport card for free, which allowed us to play all kinds of sports for free.

Review 15:No really comfortable chairs in the living room. Wifi was variable and unpredictable.

Review 16:It was all very enjoyable, we had excellent weather. Accommodation was close to all activities and shops. Free passes to activities was marvellous. Lovely views from the balcony. Good range of catering equipment.

Review 17:Everything was perfect.

Review 18:Super value for money. All services and activities (transportation, cable cars, water sports, etc.) in town come free with the accommodation. Condo is superb.

Review 19:the second bedroom situated in the apartment without opening window felt stuffy and uncomfortable to sleep in, its nice to be able to open a window in bedrooms. the ladies changing rooms in the spa/ pool area was cramped if 3 or more were in at the same time trying to get changed. the couch in the apartment isn't comfortable to sit on.

Review 20:Overall size of the apartment was excellent. Kitchen was well equipped. loved the welcome pack which included all cleaning products required for a weeks stay. Situated in the quiet zone in tignes le lac yet a short walk away from the centre, Maison de Tignes Le Lac and bus stop. Nearest supermarket is a stone's throw from the apartment. Intersport is literally at the bottom of the road so very handy for bike rentals in summer and ski hire etc in winter. The outdoor pool was fabulous, including the sauna and steam room. very well presented. The bar area is lovely and relaxing. Reception staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent place to stay!

Review 21:Wifi was not very good unless you went to the main reception.

Review 22:The Hotel Montana is perfectly located near the lake for the summer actives. After mountain biking, hiking, stand up paddle boarding, water jumping, etc, etc, etc, the hotel spa was a great place to relax. There are so many summer activities in Tignes we needed more time. We had been upgraded to a larger apartment which was lovely as we were traveling with 2 other families and it meant we had a large space to all gather for meals. All thought the decor in the apartments is starting to look tired I would highly recommend a stay at the Hotel Montana apartments the staff were extremely helpful and polite and the apartments comfortable and clean.

Review 23:The internet was really unstable as the WIFI signal disappeared regularly for several minutes only to work for a few minutes until disappearing again. The dishwashing machine door was broken so when opening it, it would simply fall open and knock your shins. The small lid where the dish washing liquid was meant to go couldn't close. There was only one TV channel for children and no news in English on the TV.

Review 24:Great location. Nice, clean bathroom with super hot shower and very nice, clean towels. We found a number of smaller problems in the flat, but considering the price we paid, it was acceptable. All in all, the family room with two bedrooms was good value for money.

Review 25:Very weak wifi in room. We had to goto the pool area to.get any sort of reception. Service in restaurant was poor.

Review 26:Staff were amazing Pool and free sauna, steam room. Views were breath taking from our balcony.

Review 27:We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment and while the main bedroom was bright and sunny with a large window the second bedroom had no windows making it very dark and airless. This may not be problem in the cold winter months but in the hot summer months it makes sleeping very uncomfortable.

Review 28:Locatiion and swimming pool

Review 29:The beds are extremely hard which is ok if you like a very hard bed. The sofa is extremely uncomfortable and needs to be updated badly. The shower head is at knee height so only option is a bath which is not a bad thing after skiing the whole day.

Review 30:Village Montana is very close to snow and gives a very picturesque view of the ski fields and the French Alps. Will stay here again considering the down sides

Review 31:Furnishings of the apartment are very tired looking. Sofa not particularly comfortable. Dining table rocky

Review 32:Location ski in ski out Staff in the hotel efficient and helpful

Review 33:Out door heated pool, sauna steam & jacuzzi were bliss after a hard day on the slopes & the hotel is located 100mtrs from the lifts so not far to walk

Review 34:There is no maid service during the week not even to change the towels. Bring soap. The wifi was extremely weak. We were not able to send any outgoing emails from iPads or cell phones at all during the week although it seemed to work from laptops. The charge of 10€pp/day for use of the pool and hot tub was not what we expect in a 4* rated property.

Review 35:This location is truly ski in/ski out by European standards. There is a small locker for each room with a boot dryer. Underground parking was convenient. Front desk staff are extremely helpful with dinner reservations, giving us more toilet paper, replacing burned out lightbulbs, and having our fresh baked goods ready every morning. Contrary to some reviews, the kitchen was very well equipped and there is an inventory sheet at arrival to verify that you have everything you need. There is only a toaster over instead of a full oven but I managed to bake a cake in it. Kettle, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher and lots of things to cook with if you're creative enough to improvise a bit. A teapot would have been nice. One of the last parts of the valley to lose the afternoon sun.

Review 36:Hotel spa had good facilities, but water in jacuzzi and temperature in sauna too cold to really help recovery from skiing, so only used it once.

Review 37:Almost ski in/out: walk about 20 meters. Close to Palafour and Chaudanne chair lifts. Firm beds.

Review 38:Our apartment was excellent. We were able to ski in and out despite limited snow in village. The proximity of supermarket, spa and restaurant within hotel was a bonus. Ordered croissant and baguettes through reception daily. Great holiday thanks!

Review 39:The beds were very hard, and they had twin beds in the Master bedroom for a married couple. The couch was very upright, stiff and uncomfortable. The kitchen is tiny and hard for even one person to work in, with a very old stove that takes forever to cook on. The hotel guests and other residences owned by Village Montana had free access to the spa, but our building had to pay 10Euros/person. The spa is very small, the jacuzzi was broken and fit 2-3 people at a time.

Review 40:The location was good. There are 4 restaurants that you can charge to your room, and a nearby small grocery store. There's a Skiset rental shop in the Village Montana hotel across the road, and a personal ski locker for each apartment.

Review 41:The beds in the self catering apartment were quite hard.

Review 42:First thank you for agreeing to rearrange the dates I'd prepaid when my plans had to change. You had no obligation to do this and it was highly appreciated. Also the hotel is very nice, clean and well decorated and the staff are very friendly. I'd gladly return.

Review 43:Spa should be free if staying in apartments.

Review 44:Great location, comfy, got a free upgrade.

Review 45:A few heaters in the room doesn't work even pointed out to the reception during the stay.

Review 46:All equipment are well conditioned.

Review 47:Fantastic location and very helpfull staff

Review 48:Nice large apartment & close to slopes. Comfortable & amenities very good.

Review 49:Very hard bed.

Review 50:Staff very friendly, close to the lake, good WIFI, nice warm pool. Underground parking was useful for storing bikes

Review 51:The wifi was a bit weak and frustrating.

Review 52:Excellent location with super helpful staff. Modest flat with an amazing view. Very comfortable firm beds.

Review 53:Dirty appartment, but reasonably sized and comfortable.

Review 54:Good pool area and bar service. Good restaurant reasonably priced with good wine list.

Review 55:Kitchen area was very small

Review 56:Good sized apartment with hotel bar and pool facilities next door Proximity to lake

Review 57:Old and tired apparment in the middle of a traffic machine.

Review 58:The reseptionist was nice

Review 59:The beds were very hard and it was difficult to get an uninterupted sleep.

Review 60:Availability of the heated pool. Nice quiet location.

Review 61:Kitchen space small area for cooking. No chopping board!

Review 62:Peaceful convenient for slopes

Review 63:A little dated.

Review 64:Convenient for ski lifts & ski to door. Comfortable & clean

Review 65:Uncomfortable very hard beds. Very small bedrooms.

Review 66:The location was fantastic for skiers

Review 67:The apartment

Review 68:seeing my son

Review 69:Advertised as ski to for and it wasn't, it didn't prove to be a big problem though.

Review 70:It's difficult to exit and return for small kids or beginner skiers, and it not truly ski-in/out.

Review 71:It's charming

Review 72:having the use of the hotel facilities was a real bonus. Fantastic spa and pool. The hotel decor was beautiful

Review 73:There was nothing that I didn't like

Review 74:Everything! The friendly helpful staff, the facilities, inclusive sports activities, the location ....

Review 75:Kitchen a little small relative to the rest of the apartment but well equipped (mini-cooker, microwave etc.)

Review 76:Staff very accommodating; arriving at midnight was no problem. Fairly close to the slope (not quite ski-in/out but almost with enough snow). Good size apartment with two twin rooms (no sleeping in the lounge). Ski lockers with heated boot system

Review 77:The beds were appalling!! Like Youth Hostel beds - SO uncomfortable. I asked for a double but got 2 twins. They were rubbish beds, just foam on wooden slats - worst bed experience EVER. We even left a day early and came home because we couldn't bear the thought of sleeping another night in them. Truly worst bed I've ever slept in, MOST dissappointing.

Review 78:The staff in the hotel, ski shop and bar - very friendly.

Review 79:Food in La Place was poorly cooked No double bed in the main bedroom, instead 2x singles

Review 80:Excellent bar Ski room ensured everything was warm and dry for the next day

Review 81:Between our friends and ourselves we had many problems within our apartments. Staff were not particularly helpful or friendly when confronted with the problems we had. For the cost of the two apartments value for money was very poor.

Review 82:The location of the accommodation was good and the fact that we had adjoining apartments with our friends was ideal.

Review 83:Ventilation in toilet didn't work so it could smell a little in there sometimes. My iPhone 4 couldn't pick up wifi in our apartment, although the (presumably) more powerful 4s and samsungs could pick it up...

Review 84:Beautiful apartment with great amenities. Comfortable living space, rooms and good bathroom facilities. Great hotel spa for €10 extra per time.

Review 85:Signage from the garage not very clear so took us quite a while to work out how to get to our appt (V44) - had to take lift to level 3, then cross through lobby and then stairs only to next level. Lift only accesses appts 41 and 42.

Review 86:4 of us stayed in a 2 bed appt with 1 bath and seperate wc. The appt was overall fine and well placed for access to both Paquis and Palafour lifts - 3 mins walk only. Access back to appt was even better. The appt was clean and reasonably well equipped and very good value for the money. Garage parking (€15 pd) very handy. Good sized boot room with lockers right by the main entrabce and Wi-fi very good

Review 87:The staf offer us to stay longer (until afternoon) the departure day because the appartament was not needed this day. That is clearly exceeding customer expectation

Review 88:Very small oven, small kitchen. The beds were very very hard, uncomfy and only had 1 thin pillow. I had to sleep on sette, which was not much better than the bed.

Review 89:Hotel, location, pool

Review 90:Absolutely the MOST uncomfortable beds and pillows I have ever experienced! Very itchy wool blankets on the 2 very small single beds in each room. I'd recommend Tignes, and maybe the hotel part of the Village Montana, but unless they replace the mattresses I certainly cannot recommend the Residences. In no way are the beds even 2 star quality.

Review 91:Beautiful location with amazing views. Lots of free activities in Tignes for the summer. Stayed in the Residences which had a small kitchen and 2 bedrooms, which was great.

Review 92:Residences very tired walls need redecoration blankets not duvetinadequate sofas for a 3 bedroom residence fans not working in toilets

Review 93:Location plenty of hot water hotel facilities cocktails pricerestaurants

Review 94:Ski stores did not have proper heating to dry your boots. Hotel swimmingpool costs 10 euros per person a pop. Dependeing on the building youstay, you may have a short walk to slopes both in and out - and path wasvery icy and slippery at times.

Review 95:Village Montana is a complex of a hotel, luxury suites and standardapartments. Make sure you know which one you are getting - as not alloffer the same facilities. Résidences are the standard apartments. Nice, clean and spacious by French standards, but in the smaller apartmentsone of the two bedrooms has no windows and therefore no properventilation. Kitchen is well equipped. Bathroom not glamorous, but cleanand there was no shortage of hot water even at peak times. Reception -located in the hotel building - was helpful, and offered storage forluggage on day of departure to gain extra day of skiing. Decent hoteltoilet proved comfortable for changing. Good covered car park withinsame building (70 euros per week), but you will have to remove yourroofbox to fit in. Bays are large enough for big SUVs, no worries aboutother cars denting your door. Car could be left there until late onSaturday after checkout. Generally a good experience, but - in half term- its cost of 300 euros per night is a bit pricey for the generalquality. But who said skiing was cheap?

Review 96:Poor decorative order. Only one pillow per bed. Carrying ski equipmentback & fore to ski lifts. Charged for bread in the apartment thatwas not left for us in the first place. Hotel receptionist insisted thatwe had used it!!

Review 97:Spacious apartment. Good views

Review 98:Not enough to do in Tignes Le Lac Reception staff, when phoned, were impolite and not responsive.

Review 99:Location for slopes was good. Size was fine for grown up children. Restaurants were excellent,

Review 100:Very badly equipped appartement. Forget about reading a book during your stay at Village Montana. Not a single decent chair around, and the lamps are utterly inadequate. Old carpet makes the whole appartment smelly. No duvets but thin old blankets on the beds. Tiny 1 m2 kitchen. Bring lots of kitchen equipment because even a teapot is missing. The place was not cleaned properly (hair in the shower, old (Russian) magazines and newspapers in the cupboard). The advertised free internet connection in all appartements does not work at all. In this price range you will get much better value for money elsewhere.

Review 101:Location and size of the appartment were very good. Ski in ski out.

Review 102:Easy access to accommodation, friendly reception.

Review 103:Toilets got stuck in lock broken inside dirty bathrooms cupboards doors fallen off in bathroom disgusting

Review 104:forfaits ski trop chers pour la saison

Review 105:WC with a slight smell, food could be improved (we tried one indoor restaurant)

Review 106:The combination of services (housing, ski rental, etc.)

Review 107:Excellent accommodation Spacious comfortable great location friendly staff good facilities free wifi

The Fine Print
