Reviews for The Royal Oak Burford

Review 1:Friendly reception and clean and tidy room. The owners were excellent hosts for New Years Eve and the xmas decorations were out of this world, especially the Polar Bears. Live jazz music brilliant. Up till 3am so must have been good. Staff v efficient and charming to boot.

Review 2:Rooms could do with a face lift and a bit more attention paid to cleanliness. It was a bit cold at nights.

Review 3:Very convenient to Burford and very quiet. Very comfortable bed.

Review 4:THE ROOM WAS OUTSIDE IN AN ANNEXE UP A FLIGHT OF STAIRS, WHICH WAS NOT IDEAL.

Review 5:THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND THE ROOM WAS CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. WE ENJOYED THE MEAL IN THE EVENING.

Review 6:The shower was very small with low water pressure.

Review 7:The room was very clean. The staff was fantastic - very friendly and helpful. Great location off the main road so no traffic noise. The noise from the pub was not very loud - you could hear it, but was not as loud as I was expecting. Breakfast was a typical English breakfast, made to order.

Review 8:The shower is a little rudimentary, but what can you expect from a historic building that is several hundred years old. It comes with the territory and didn't detract much from the overall excellent experience.

Review 9:We loved the small-town feel of this English countryside bed and breakfast. What a lovely little spot to stay! The hosts were friendly and delightfully accommodating, and the value cannot be beaten. We would definitely come back to stay again.

Review 10:Tea tray was bit too basic- ie literally tea and coffee satchets. Would have been nice to have a couple of decaff sachets too. Bathroom was okay, just very basic decor.

Review 11:Prime location in beautiful Cotswold town. bedroom size good and comfortable Bed. Snazzy striped carpet. Plenty of space for luggage.TV good reception. Pub itself seems inviting atmosphere. Parking available on sight.

Review 12:uncontrollable temperature in the shower, went from cold to very hot back to cold, then extremely hot (unsafe even). Small breakfast no wonder they offered cooked and uncooked, you need both

Review 13:Comfortable bed, wifi was okay

Review 14:Parking was touch-n-go depending on whether the pub was full or not.

Review 15:Location was excellent just off the main road. Room was clean and bed was comfy and firm. Staff was friendly.

Review 16:Wifi in room was poor/non existent. But we had a great time. Thank you!

Review 17:Perfect location. Friendly place. Good breakfast. Lovely little village. Great value for money.

Review 18:Not applicable.

Review 19:The village of Burford is beautiful and the Royal Oak is centrally positioned. All the staff were friendly and helpful. They kept safe my phone charger until I returned to collect it.

Review 20:The water supply to the shower isn't good - temperature difficult to control and flow of water very weak .

Review 21:The location is excellent . Room was clean and comfortable . Breakfast was good .

Review 22:Would have prefered the rooms to have been within the pub as opposed to the outside annex, but still nice accomodation. Shame not all guests could sit by the fire for meals, a bit cold elsewhere .

Review 23:Lovely inclusive breakfast specially prepared for just the two guest rooms when the pub was not open to others. Friendly staff with local knowledge of the area

Review 24:Everything was fine.

Review 25:Comfortable room, excellent evening meal and breakfast, very pleasant landlord and staff. Friendly pub. Helpful with parking. Ideal for exploring the Cotswolds.

Review 26:The staff were so accommodating and stayed up late for our late arrival. They even called a restaurant for us to see if they would stay open a little later so we could eat.

Review 27:...nothing really. Maybe the fact that some people parked in the hotel's parking space reserved for guests this leaving us without a parking space, but then again, not really the fault of the owners!

Review 28:The staff. Absolutely the staff!

Review 29:on the top of a pub so we could hear the noise from downstairs with people singing on the michrophone and shouting... dirty carpet, shower with little water, problem with kitchen so our breakfast was tea, coffee, cereal and toast. Owner could run to nearest coffee shop and get a descent breakfast for us or at least offer to give us some money back as the breakfast was included.

Review 30:pillows could have been medium soft ..but overall ,for the money, it was excellent value .

Review 31:Staff super friendly , beer perfectly kept and poured, the wine inexpensive ....the pub food was THE best i have tasted in years ..the pies are home made , vegatables al dente ,the gravy sublime .terrific young chef . full English breakfast to the same culinary standard .. a lucky choice of venue for a stop over.

Review 32:The restaurant is nothing much to look at, but the food makes up for it. Some might find the bed too firm for them, I slept well. There was an annoying squeaking sound which we never did find the cause of, so ear plugs at the ready.

Review 33:The room was large, super king size bed, easy walking distance of the whole town. Food was really good, and breakfast did not leave you wanting more.
