Reviews for The Wyche Inn
Review 1:Excellent location for walking in the Malvern hills. Super breakfast and evening meal. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room with stunning views. Note that it's a mile or so from the centre of Great Malvern - the advantage is that you are on the hills in a matter of seconds, and half way up already!
Review 2:Parking a little Problematic at times Mattress on bed very uncomfortable/Old needs replacing. Constant Noise from the refrigeration system kept me awake half the night, Bedroom was at the back of the building.
Review 3:The Location Excellent views from Kitchen and Living Room. Kitchen very well equipped.
Review 4:The staff were friendly and helpful; we arrived later than we anticipated but they opened the kitchen and cooked a fabulous supper for us. The breakfasts were amazing. The views from the rooms were stunning; when the fog lifted!
Review 5:We were advised when we arrived to prebook a table if we wanted an evening meal. As it was, we and another couple were the only ones in the pub that Sat. evening. Perhaps its more livelier in the summer. Only a small car park available.
Review 6:Our apartment was clean and well fitted out with everything you would need. Nice complimentary pack. Well situated for walking the hills. Good choice of ales. Nice pub. Standard pub grub.
Review 7:Car park was limited and difficult to use. The road was busy during the daytime and always had cars parked outside the pub.
Review 8:Wonderful view and quality bread used to make toast.
Review 9:Amazing views from our bedroom window. Everything you need in the bedroom including TV, hairdryer, ensuite with good shower. Great breakfast with a lot of choice. Very sweet pub dog. Good distance to the centre by car.
Review 10:Very difficult to park. But would still go back if in the area again.
Review 11:We have travelled quite a lot using varied accommodation from B and B's to expensive first class hotels. The Wyche was the first place to offer glucose free and dairy free alternatives without prior notice . Excellent breakfast, did not try the evening meal as we had already eaten.
Review 12:The parking is very limited indeed. The TV signals were weak, and the bath was half my length!
Review 13:The view is absolutely stunning. The staff are very helpful and the food excellent.
Review 14:The evening menu could have been a little more imaginative. The parking was a bit hit and miss.
Review 15:Everything was available without being asked. Breakfast menu was excellent. Beautiful views.
Review 16:Friendly staff, comfortable room, excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Just a 20 minute walk to/from Great Malvern with wonderful views from the room over the Worcestershire countryside. Excellent base from where to walk the Malvern Hills.
Review 17:Parking was usually on the street (no charge) but not easily available until after the pub started to thin out. not a big issue, just reality.
Review 18:Very friendly staff, good food and atmosphere, ideal place to start walking the Malvern Hills. The evening view over the Malvern area is delightful. Good waypoint to explore to the west too.
Review 19:We arrived hungry and tired after a long journey and were so pleased that really good food was being served - including multiple vegetarian options. Our room was so comfortable with plenty of tea, coffee etc available. Breakfast excellent. Can't fault the place or staff...oh and the views and walks are outstanding.
Review 20:No complaints .
Review 21:Comfortable apartment with stunning view .Nice complementary welcome pack.Kitchen well kitted out with all the necessary appliances.Decor of apartment tasteful .
Review 22:Parking could be a little tricky, but minor gripe considering the positives!
Review 23:Fantastic views, Friendly & helpful staff, good beer & food, great location & great apartment.
Review 24:The inn was small but everything we needed was provided. A warm welcome from the landlord and his wife. Fantastic food with plenty of choice. Absolutely great view from our room.
Review 25:friendly helpful staff, excellent breakfast, even came up with 2 complimentary tickets for the Malvern Show which was the reason we had stayed overnight
Review 26:parking was a nightmare - very busy road just round a bend. Booking info states 8 spaces but realistically no more than 6 and backing out onto a very busy road just past a bend was a nightmare. On Sunday afternoon we had to leave the car a good quarter of a mile away and retrieve it in the evening when there was parking space.
Review 27:the apartment was extremely well equipped and very comfortable and the view was superb
Review 28:A bit of noise from the bar one night but not as much as we were expecting from the accommodation advice. Water slow to warm up, especially for the shower. Parking limited.
Review 29:Views excellent, furnishing fresh and newly decorated, very modern and tasteful.
Review 30:The only real downside was because of mobility problems we asked for a ground floor room and were told that we would have to use the apartment at an extra cost, though for those wishing to self cater the facilities were good
Review 31:Very friendly staff, although basically a pub with rooms the menu was varied with a wide selection of dishes that you would not normally find, a very good breakfast
Review 32:Parking difficult, not a lot of spaces.
Review 33:The staff, accommodation, view, location were all fantastic. Food in the evening was very good and reasonably priced.
Review 34:Very kind helpful staff. I am Lactose intolerant and they were more than helpful to accommodate me without making me feel awkward. Would stay again, very comfortable & clean. Would recommend to others
Review 35:The only issue was that the car-park was small and a bit tricky to get in and out of (we are not used to narrow English country roads!), but is only a minor point.
Review 36:Comfortable, spacious room with great views and all those little touches that make it stand out (toiletries, bottled water, tea/coffee/biscuits etc). Good food and real ale in the evening, great breakfast with lots of choice and very friendly people.
Review 37:I needed early breakfasts; however as this was not possible, Steph provided a continental tray in my room. I would have preferred a cooked meal, but the tray selection was good
Review 38:Friendly and helpful owners and staff; sandwiches were made for me on one evening when I was too late for the regular meals
Review 39:Bar noise could be heard in the room up to about 11.30pm but that is expected staying at a pub! Not a problem if you are a heavy sleeper or a late to bed person anyway.
Review 40:Very relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, good value food & drink. Beautiful view from room. Very close to two walking trials with maps available to take. Pool tables in bar & Fabulous breakfasts!
Review 41:rooms very close to road ,so some traffic noise. breakfast a little late starting at 8.30am, though an excellent packed lunch was offered as an alternative.
Review 42:very friendly and helpful staff. incredible view from room. very dog acceptable.
Review 43:Very well looked after and catered for including a delicious packed lunch as I couldnt stay for breakfast. Reasonably priced tasty bar meals, fabulous views, very dog friendly and a lovely, clean good sized room. A bridleway just yards from the pub for dog walks. Hope to come back again
Review 44:Tony and Steph were extremely friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was great as were packed lunches. The food in the evenings was great too and very good value.
Review 45:Everything was good, but the room and bathroom needed a little TLC to bring it up to modern standards.
Review 46:Coeliacs often have concerns about food when away from home, especially when they are also lactose intolerant. The breakfast was wonderful. Glutenfree cereal, soya milk and a tasty cooked breakfast. There was no issue with cross contamination, so I was as well at the end of our stay as when we arrived - something that does not always happen! Bottled water, tea and coffee in room. Good toiletries. Amazing views.
Review 47:that the rooms were clean, comfortable and every little extra touch had been provided, from bathroom options to varities of tea, coffee and chocolate.
Review 48:Facilities were marvellous, breakfast had something for everyone and the full english highly recommended. The hosts were most obliging and very pleasant. Would go back again. Lovely views from the bedroom.
Review 49:Only one very very minor note, the car park is quite small so if you arrive at peak time (ie. when the pub/restaurant is busy), it can be a bit tricky getting in and out. There are spaces along the road though so not a major problem.
Review 50:A very comfortable room with stunning views! This is an ideal place to stay for walkers/hikers and pet friendly too. I would recommend the omelettes for breakfast - they were delicious!
Review 51:There is only one drawback and that is the parking which is very small and so parking would be outside on the road
Review 52:The view from this place could not be bettered, and the welcome we received likewise.
Review 53:Nothing.
Review 54:Everything ; excellent evening meal, a fab breakfast superbly cooked , + cereals & fruit plenty of tea & coffee. Lovely staff, clean room , all rooms have great view, comfy bed. Only 2 mins to start of a brilliant walk with 360 degree views. Cannot fault anything.
Review 55:Nothing really...all really good. Things to be aware of which didnt cause us any probs were: Busy road during the day but quiet at night so slept well; wifi seemed to go off when then pub closed and back on 9am-ish
Review 56:Location comfy room, spacious extras-tea, coffee, biscuits and shampoo etc and maps/walks in local area all v. Helpful very tasty filling breakfast outside area to sit
Review 57:Nothing to dislike.
Review 58:Much better than the advertised. The apartment was well appointed with a bonus of bread fresh orange and milk with as much tea and coffee as you are likely to want. The staff and owners are very happy to help in any way. Food is well above the average and plenty of it. And did I mention the location, fantastic views and access to the Malvern Hills and Three Counties Show Ground. We will be going again for sure.
Review 59:Just found the bed a little hard for me parking a bit difficult on a quite busy narrow road
Review 60:Food excellent very friendly staff very clean nicely decorated fantastic views
Review 61:Room was right above where all the smokers stood on the pavement, so consequently all the smoke rose into the room. Parking a bit limited (I was lucky and got on the busy road outside)
Review 62:Pet friendly to the nth degree
Review 63:Perpetual low electrical hum in the bedroom only noticed at 4.00am which then stopped me getting back to sleep. Will not be returning.
Review 64:The view, the dinner, the owners, the character of the inn.
Review 65:The views from our room were fantastic. The staff were always welcoming and friendly. The food both at breakfast and dinner was plentiful and very good.
Review 66:Really friendly staff. Comfy room, with extras such as biscuits and fresh water ( nice touch ) . Views were stunning from room. Food in the pub was excellent and breakfast was fabulous, even offering dairy free. Loved it
Review 67:Close to both the hills for walking & the towns of Great Malvern & Ledbury. Beautiful views from the bedroom window. Enjoyed the food & real ale.
Review 68:Some room for improvement with the breakfast ingredients but otherwise a great weekend.
Review 69:The view from the room, the attention to detail in the room facilities, courtesy of the staff and the refreshments on affer at the Inn
Review 70:Nothing
Review 71:Very friendly hosts , good food, comfortable room, very clean. Just what we needed after a long day walking. Not luxury but exactly what we wanted at a reasonable price.
Review 72:Staff were lovely and very helpful, beautiful location ideal for walking. It felt like a proper local pub, without being exclusive or negative towards tourists unlike some other pubs can.
Review 73:Wi-fi didn't reach top flat. Very noisy generator of some sort at night made for difficult sleeping. Second night slept in sitting room at front which was much quieter.
Review 74:Lovely people. Location great for walking. Good food. Great value. Very relaxing. Very dog friendly.
Review 75:The initial welcome wasn't great and parking was difficult and the bar area wasn't particularly cosy
Review 76:bedroom was well-serviced with comfortable bed, T&C facilities and toiletries in bathroom. Menu was extensive and food quite good
Review 77:Room smelt of very strong bleach on arrival which wasn't very welcoming, but the smell went away after opening windows. Could hear pub music under room but it stopped by midnight.
Review 78:Breakfast, evening meal and drinks, view from the room, little extra touches eg. Printed walk maps, bottles of water in room.
Review 79:The view from bedroom was startling, the room was very clean and comfortable, staff were brilliant very friendly. Breakfast was very good and plenty full, meals were very good for pub food. I would recommend to anyone.
Review 80:Warm, friendly and very welcoming place to stay. Views from bedroom were amazing. Lovely room and food was excellent. Great place to stay and cant wait to go back.
Review 81:Nothing not to like
Review 82:I loved how comfortable the bed was me and my partner had a lovely nights sleep, also the breakfast was really nice and the staff was very friendly, glad we spent the night there. The views at night and early morning was breath taking
Review 83:No bad comments from me but I didn't see any reference in the hotel on-line information to indicate that dogs are welcome. This could be important for potential guests who are allergic to fur and feathers.
Review 84:Although mid-evening arrival, a lovely welcome by the staff in the bar. Was shown to a spotless room with all refreshment and toiletry facilities. Breakfast menu to suit all requirements, including allergy sufferers.
Review 85:There was very limited car parking available with the result that it was necessary to seek alternative locations for parking on some occasions.
Review 86:The location, it high up on the Malven Hills and also close to famly members who live in the area. The staff were welcoming and very helpful.
Review 87:only minor complaint wi-fi signal was non existent in the flat.music from the juke box could sometimes be heard in the flat.
Review 88:The flat we stayed in had great facilities and a nice extra touch was the tea, coffee, milk, bread ,jam etc that was provided for us.An excellent location for walking with a footpath to the malverns just around the corner. Food was good in the pub and choice of real ales.
Review 89:Distance from town. Would be ok to walk during the day but not sufficiently well lit to walk at night. Lots of taxis are available.
Review 90:Very friendly helpful staff. Very comfortable room. Nice outlook. Room a bit cold when we checked in despite ch but the fan heater which was in room soon helped to warm it up. Lots of tea coffee etc provided.
Review 91:Parking spaces are limited but we managed to shuffle around without too much trouble.
Review 92:Good sized room with brilliant views over the valley. King sized bed. Soft chairs. Free WiFi, plenty of tea and coffee supplies, pristine bathroom. Full breakfast menu. Food generous and good quality. Gluten free cereals and bread. Soya milk products too. Staff all friendly and willing to help. Excellent value for money.
Review 93:The showering facilities had no hot water
Review 94:The beautiful view from our hotel room The walk down from the hotel to the town centre, especially in the early morning The hospitable nature of the staff: we had an early departure and thus requested a super early breakfast, which was sublime.
Review 95:I cannot think a single thing we did not like.
Review 96:Every detail in the room was excellent: e.g. excellent temperature regulation with varying outside temperature, fast Wi-Fi, plenty of tea bags etc. etc. The food in the restaurant was very tasty with superb local beers.
Review 97:Bed could be more comfortable & shower ran hot/cold. We struggled with the front door, as it swells with the damp weather & could not shut it ..
Review 98:Location & views, pet friendly, clean, value for money. WIFI, Basic foods available in fridge & plenty of teas/coffee's etc.. Pub
Review 99:Location & flat were very good, very clean & fully fitted out - recommended as a base for walkers or like us sightseeing - we added breakfast in the pub to our 'deal' ....also recommended!
Review 100:Staff very friendly, food good, rooms good, complimentary toiletries and bottled water in the room, made me laugh that it wasn't 'Malvern' water. Great views from rooms.
Review 101:Not a lot of parking but the rest made up for it.
Review 102:This was a really good hotel with excellent staff. The rooms were immaculate and with astonishing views. The food was very good too. I loved my time there and would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Review 103:From the moment you arrive you are made welcome and this continues throughout. The owners and staff show a genuine interest in you and the information available regarding the beautiful area is top class
Review 104:We booked The Wynch Inn because other reviews had deemed the owners to be extremely helpful and friendly. We arrived late, being growled at by the resident dog wasn't a great start. We missed the pub food but were offered sandwiches which were fine. We'd been travelling all day so to catch up on news at 11.15pm my husband picked up a paper from the bar to take with him into our room. Landlady objected saying they hadn't read it yet, nor were we allowed to take any of the other nationals laid out (presumably we thought) for guests but we weren't allowed to take these either - only option the free local rag. Hardly welcoming and friendly! We booked this property as we were with our young son and no local hotels would accommodate him in the same room. The Wyche had an apartment which was very clean but cheaply fitted basic; just not what I would expect from such high reviews. Next morning, breakfast was good (although we were afraid to pick up the papers!) but I was pleased that we were moving on. High reviews, especially for the warmth and friendliness of the owners, are misleading.
Review 105:Stunning views from the front of the property.
Review 106:Parking was a bit of a problem although street parking nearby
Review 107:Good location for the Malvern Hills - good views from your room. Good food -plenty of choice and was home cooked.Had a supply of DVD's which you could watch - could also take drinks from the bar into your room - friendly staff
Review 108:Limited parking. Some noise from the games room below but on our visit this room was empty before 10pm
Review 109:Friendly staff. Room well appointed with toiletries in the bathroom and plenty of local information and a comfortable bed! The good English breakfast provided set us up for the day
Review 110:The first time we have ever been charged for our small dog - even though she was very well-behaved.
Review 111:Location gave easy access to Great Malvern, Worcester and Ledbury. The detailed maps of walks in the Malvern Hills were much appreciated.
Review 112:The only thing that might benefit the inn is interior decoration and refurbishment. The exterior is well presented and the plants in the beer garden and hanging baskets are well tended and very beautiful.
Review 113:The breakfast was first class, surpassing even those produced in 5star hotels we have stayed in. The inn is situated at the foot of the Malvern Hills where a 30 minute or so walk will take you 1395 feet above sea level to the Worcestershire Beacon with stunning views.
Review 114:Accommodation was great. All the staff were very friendly and helpfull. The view from the lounge window was fantastic. The food in the restaraunt was very good.
Review 115:Pillows - a bit thin for my liking Parking a bit tight - but that's not a huge issue
Review 116:Beautiful room, well appointed and roomy. Fresh milk available for tea & coffee Good shower, Clean Food (evening & breakfast) really good. Cider! Traditional pub, with a lovely little garden Really lovely accommodating hosts, The view Sharpe, the Welsh Collie
Review 117:The car park is small
Review 118:Steph had an excellent understanding of Coeliac disease and could not have been more helpful or welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Review 119:Parking not easy or good. My pillow felt lumpy so I didnt sleep that well. This would not stop me going back!
Review 120:Excellent food both evening and breakfast.Hosts nothing was to much trouble for them.Already recommend to friends and family. Overall excellent accomadation and good value.Look forward to a return visit. Thankyou.
Review 121:Friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome by Pam. Separate entrance to room, which was very comfortable, stunning view over Malvern. Genuine pub accommodation with a great breakfast. Ideal for walkers. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Review 122:We get woken up early by the sound of the cleaner cupboard being used, right outside the apartment door. Shower can be temperamental, but had improved.
Review 123:Facilities, dog friendly, clean, beautiful views, value for money, hillside walks so convenient, parking, privacy, generous basic food supplies: Plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits, fresh orange, milk, bread..Easy reach of Malvern, Worcester, Ledbury .. Always stay here because ideal for visiting family and the good standard is always the same. Recommend this place
Review 124:If there is any comment to make it would probably be the off-road car parking as parking bays would benefit from road markings and the refuse containers stored elsewhere. But these did not create too much of a problem.
Review 125:Everything about the Wyche Inn was brilliant. Excellent accommodation (top floor apartment) whereby the lounge, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom were decorated and fitted out to a high standard. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The evening meal and breakfast were served in a very comfortable dining area and the food and service was top notch. There is both off-road and on-road car parking available. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the views from the lounge and kitchen windows were stunning.
Review 126:Our flat was well equipped - but the variable shower temperature was hazardous. They also need to be clearer on their charges for children.
Review 127:A really pleasant stay at an old fashioned pub, with excellent food and good beers. Perfect location for Malvern cricket festivals!
The Fine Print
The car park has a capacity of 8 spaces and so parking allocation is subject to availability. All rooms are located over a games room and bar. Low level noise from the juke box can be heard until 23:30 and live bands do play occasionally. Please note The Wyche Inn is entirely non-smoking and anyone found smoking during their stay will be charged GBP 50 for extra cleaning.
