Reviews for Brook House Inn

Review 1:Nothing to complain about, but for the age and decor of the room, I think it was a bit overpriced.

Review 2:The staff were all lovely, very welcoming and accommodating. The room was homely and comfortable and the bathroom was clean and fairly modern. The restaurant was a really nice room and the breakfast menu was good.

Review 3:Great staff, great food (both the bar food and the top class full English breakfast), comfortable enough room though the bathroom was a little damp smelling. But don't let that put you off staying here. It was excellent.

Review 4:My bedroom was very tired and needed a good dust and a more robust vacuum. The TV was old, almost impossible to hear and the three remote controls controlled? I couldn't even switch channels.

Review 5:The lady who owns it is lovely. Very welcoming and can't do enough for you. She also let me park in the car park the night before the night I stayed. Food was nice

Review 6:When driving to the place, do not take Pass routes, they were horrible, especially in the dark!

Review 7:Quality food, lovely service from the staff, all friendly and welcoming.

Review 8:The hotel was superb. The customer service was second to none. The staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable of the area and made us feel so welcome. We stayed in room five with the biggest bed I have ever seen. Our friends in room six. Beautiful views and so peaceful. The rooms were spotless and so comfortable. The food amazing and the beer excellent. A true gem of a hotel.

Review 9:The wifi signal was a little Glitchy in the bedroom area. But great on the ground floor

Review 10:The location was beautiful with great access to many of the surrounding mountains and Hills.

Review 11:Not much to dislike. The wifi was patchy, but there is always a pay phone to fall back on when you need to contact people

Review 12:Have stayed here before. It is conveniently located next to Dalegarth station which is where we start our day for the Scafell Pike leg of the Railway Children 3 Peaks event.

Review 13:The lack of warmth and welcome from some members of staff. A few friendly words and smiles could have turned an acceptable stay into a memorble one.

Review 14:The location is second to none. The accommodation was clean, food was fine, service was efficient but overall rather clinical.

Review 15:Nothing I didn't really like but just be aware your mobile phone is unlikely to work in Eskdale. This was a bonus point for me.

Review 16:Comfortable and clean. Also good selection of food on the menu.

Review 17:I feel the room was a little outdated in terms of style for the money we paid - though the bathroom was modern and the shower was good.

Review 18:The lady who dealt with us in the evening was exceptional in terms of customer service. The food was great, proper British pub food and we really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was good too. Location and view were also great.

Review 19:An absolutely stunning inn situated in the most beautiful of locations. Great food and a lovely warm atmosphere. The view from our window was breath taking!

Review 20:Friendly and helpful staff were always attentive. Food was home cooked and delicious. We were particularly pleased with the very good vegetarian choices too. The room was very comfortable. We look forward to coming back.

Review 21:Can't think of anything!

Review 22:After a couple of weeks of living on a variety of Lakes pub food, Brook House was comfortably ahead of the rest. The hotel offers comfortable accommodation in a lovely location at a very reasonable price, and in a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Review 23:Idyllic quiet location, good food and a comfortable bar with real ale and a huge choice of malt whiskies. There was a drying room for wet boots and clothing, often an oversight in hotels.

Review 24:Nothing to dislike.

Review 25:We had a great stay, this is a well run family business. The room was clean and quiet. The bar was friendly and busy. The food was fresh cooked exceptionally good, hot on the plate and served quickly. I would recommend Brook House to walkers and local people just wanting a nice meal out.

Review 26:Poor Wifi. We were there for 3 nights and waited forever for pages to load. Bedroom needs a bit of attention as damp patches round windows.
