Reviews for Thornybank
Review 1:noise from kitchen and other guests due to open staircase.
Review 2:Friendly people, great views and walks, fabulous jacuzzi bath, lovely menagerie of pets, fabulously comfortable bed. Very clean and stunning.
Review 3:The owner had her grandchildren present and was not very welcoming. In future maybe she should not have paying guests at the same time as family. There was a large extension being built outside and there was a lot of mud so the owner berated us for getting mud on her carpet which was not surprising given the building site. The boiler was broken so we had to request a heater for the room. Although the in room brochure said breakfast from 7, the owner was not keen to prepare breakfast at 7.30 as she said she was tired.. Pets roamed freely.
Review 4:The room was good with a nice bathroom and bunk beds for the children Breakfast was good
Review 5:Everything about the place is perfect with Ronnie and the dog making us all feel very welcome, a real home from. My friends have dogs and they are now looking to go. I would not hesitate to recommend Thornybank to all!
Review 6:There wasn't anything that we disliked.
Review 7:We liked everything and enjoyed our weekend there whilst visiting the Thursford Christmas Show and the Sandringham Christmas Craft Show. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Review 8:NO ISSUES
Review 9:BED AND BREAKFAST IN A ACE LOCATION FAB VIEWS GARDEN IS BRILL OWNER COULD NOT FAULT WOULD GO OUT OF HER WAY TO HELP ONLY STAYED ONE NIGHT WISH IT WAS LONGER THANK YOU
Review 10:Thornybank is lovely. The food was excellent - unbeatable breakfast. Friendly people. Wifi connection is the best I've experienced in a guest house - superb connection. Definately recommend.
Review 11:The breakfast seating arrangements could be more intimate. Not that we minded but on the rare occation when I do get to take the family away I like more privacy.
Review 12:The room was large enough for the four of us. In my opinion it is not as close to Cromer as it may suggest, way too far to walk with my two younger children. Great breakfast that will set you up for the day!
Review 13:Nothing to dislike at all
Review 14:Ronnie was do welcoming we immediately felt relaxed. The room was amazing, so clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and very filling, couldn't fault this place.
Review 15:Not bad . Just would have liked to be nearer to the beach area of Cromer . We would have liked to leave car most of time but a bit too obscure for that - although a beautiful setting .
Review 16:Fabulous room and food .
Review 17:We took our grand-daughter for a couple of nights, and were made very welcome. She loved all the animals. Breakfast was tremendous! Will be returning next year.
Review 18:The location is really good, nice woody quiet area but for us, personally, it was not ideal as a walk to the town was a bit too long, espesually coming back in the evening, up the hill all the time and it gets really dark over there. But we enjoyed it anyway.
Review 19:We liked the place. Everything was very good: the room, the breakfast, the atmosphere. Nice firendly people around and also dogs, cats, chickens, etc. It was really relaxing and homely.
Review 20:Only difficulty was being out of range of mobile reception so could not send texts. Did use their fast Internet access for surfing Web.
Review 21:Very helpful and friendly owner. Could not do any more to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. Would definitely recommend.
Review 22:Cramped kitchen / dining area. Bedroom next to the kitchen eating area. A bit of a menagerie of pets around the place.
Review 23:Very nice breakfast. Convenient to Cromer and the National trust properties
Review 24:My husband found the bathroom sink a bit small!
Review 25:Beautiful setting. Warm welcome. Very wide choice for breakfast - all delicious. Cute kittens and bunnies.
Review 26:Would have liked instruction for jacuzzi bath (bit nervous of trying it) - not keen on dog (however friendly) being around breakfast and kitchen area, which also had to be walked through to get to bedroom. Would not bring grandchildren to play on grass - too much dog poo!
Review 27:Very large room with exceptionally comfortable bed. Large ensuite, with shower and jacuzzi bath. Great breakfast which we were able to have outside. Very friendly host with good advice for area and places to eat.
Review 28:Nothing of note
Review 29:The landlady had broken her ankle at the time of our visit, but was helped by friends, one of whom provided a hearty and enjoyable breakfast. The rooms were lovely and clean, and very spacious. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were well appointed. Our family were all very happy with their experience. There are pets at the property, including a very soft and friendly Rottweiller, which was fine with us, but may trouble some people with allergies etc. Our granddaughter loved looking at the chickens and rabbits. The environment is beautiful for walks, and Cromer is a short drive away.
Review 30:Only minor issue was that Wifi signal was quite weak in the bedroom for most of the time, but improved in the bathroom.
Review 31:Very friendly B&B. We stayed in the family room. Nice decor. Lovely bright bathroom. Efficient shower. Great breakfast.
Review 32:Nothing!
Review 33:I loved how the accommodation was catered for every age range. Swings and toys in the garden for children. My son loved that and the chickens and rabbits were lovely to see too.
Review 34:The very relaxed atmosphere! Unfortunately the owner had broken her leg 3 weeks before our visit but she continued to ensure everyone was looked after, assisted by Kate.
Review 35:Being downstairs near the front door wasn't great - a fair bit of noise from people arriving and departing, and from upstairs.
Review 36:Good breakfast and well equipped room, friendly hosts
Review 37:Ronnie "the host" could not do enough for you. The guesthouse was clean, and comfortable, the setting was excellent. The breakfasts were excellent, cooked to order, and the atmosphere around the breakfast table was wonderful.
Review 38:Nothing
Review 39:B&B was in a fantastic location, the bed was really comfortable, the breakfast was the best I've ever had, even got some bread pudding to take home
Review 40:Could do with a mirror in the bedroom to blow dry hair in front of. Mirror in bathroom but no plug socket.
Review 41:Our room was decorated beautifully, owner was warm and welcoming. Breakfast was very nice
Review 42:The property is in a great location, within walking distance of Cromer, set in beautiful peaceful woodland. The owner Roni couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful, and the children especially loved her gorgeous friendly dog Jennifer and the bunnies and chickens! We stayed in the owl room, it was spacious, light and airy, lovely bathroom, good shower, amazing cooked breakfast. Really couldn't fault this place at all, we'll definitely be back.

Review 44:We spent two nights at Thorneybank and I can honestly say it was an absolutely amazing couple of days. The B&B is situated in the middle of the woods, which was great for walking and is only a half hour walk from the Cromer pier and beach, which is only a £3.50 taxi ride back if you stay out too late and don't fancy the walk home.We stayed in the Poppy room, which is situated on the ground floor, (although there is some steps) and it has its own terrace area with an external door. The room is spacious, clean and well equipped with everything you can think of and some things you didn't. The shower is fantastic with great pressure and the bed was very comfortable, best nights sleep I've had in ages.We were a two adult and a dog party and the facilities were fantastic for our 8 month old puppy. The Poppy room was ideal for us as it was easy to let the dog out as and when needed. However if you are a light sleeper or like an early night then I would recommend one of the other rooms, as the Poppy room is situated by the front door.Jennifer and Mr Darcey (the resident dogs, although Mr Darcey doesn't live on site) were very friendly and great company for Poppy. The rabbits and chickens are also a nice addition too.Cromer itself was fantastic for us as everywhere seems to be dog friendly. We ate at Craft Burger and the Red Lion, (amazing meals and very good value for money) both of which allowed us in with the dog, as did many shops. The beach is dog friendly until May too.Breakfast was fantastic too, with everything you can think of, sausage, egg, bacon, black pudding, hash brown, beans, tomato, mushroom, toast, fruit, yogurt and cereal and all of top quality too. You could easily spend £10 a head on purchasing that breakfast elsewhere. But finally I would like to talk about Ronnie, the B&B landlady. Ronnie went above and beyond to make our stay lovely.
Review 45:Nothing!! We couldn't stay long enough!
Review 46:Warm, friendly and fantastic facilities! My children loved the animals, jacuzzi bath and pancakes for breakfast. We'll definitely be back.
Review 47:Very friendly welcome lovely spacious room with built in bunk beds. Modern feel about it. Breakfast was ample with fresh fruit and cereals as well as full English on offer
Review 48:Shower room mirror mounted too high! Hand basin on the petite side!
Review 49:Friendly and welcoming proprietor and staff. Comfortable and well equipped bedroom. Excellent décor. Value for money.
Review 50:It's a lovely lady who runs this bnb, she made us feel very welcome and even gave us some toys and books for our boys to play with, breakfast was lovely and nothing was to much trouble. We stayed in the balcony room for 2 nights, the bed was very comfy, and the room was huge so plenty of room, bathroom was nice with a jacuzzi bath, the big windows gave a lovely view, didn't use the balcony as was to cold but would be lovely in the summer.
Review 51:The room was both clean and comfortable. the breakfast was more than adequate with a full English, toast with home made jam, a good selection of cereal if you could manage it. The landlady was extremely friendly and welcoming even though we arrived late at night past the check in time.
Review 52:Comfortable, clean, modern room with lovely large windows and views all around. Plenty of space for a family of five. Friendly and welcoming. Excellent breakfast!
Review 53:The WiFi isn't very reliable but that wasnt a problem for me because i was there to relax.
Review 54:This bed and breakfast is a beautiful place to stay, the food was amazing and my gluten free diet was easily catered for. I was made to feel very welcome and i look forward to returning with my children.
Review 55:Everything! The host, room & breakfast were all first class. It's only a short walk into town, but if it will be dark when you go, take a torch as the lane is pitch black!
Review 56:Owner's unbusinesslike attitude. Sloppy approach. Jumped on by Rottweiler. If you're not used to dogs, who knows. Told off for ringing bell at about 9.00 pm (necessary to confirm breakfast time). In the first instance, not keen on preparing early breakfast (7.30 am).
Review 57:Comfortable, clean, tidy room. Excellent shower.
Review 58:The satnav took me up a track behind the property that was quite difficult to turn around in. If coming from Felbrigg stay on the road!
Review 59:The setting was lovely and yet was only minutes away from the centre of town. There was a high level of flexibility offered, eg I had a shower but could use the upstairs bathroom, I have a specialised diet that was catered for. Very friendly and welcoming.
Review 60:We were there only for a night. Wish had more time. Lovely house in the middle of a wooded patch. 10-15min walk into Cromer town. Great host, very friendly, a pet lover, with great suggestions. Nothing was too much of an effort for her.We ate at the Red Lion in her advice and had a great time.Offered to serve a late breakfast so we could lie in until 10am.Huge room with lots of space. Large bathroom with a great rain shower as well as hand shower.Very comfy beds
Review 61:With total of 5 adults and 2 children coming down for breakfast at same time, dining area somewhat cramped. Owner, however, managed extremely well.
Review 62:Convenient and close proximity to Cromer town centre and amenities
Review 63:2/4 light bulbs in bathroom need replacing.
Review 64:Big room with balcony overlooking the garden and a very comfortable Super King Size bed. Breakfast - excellent. Made to feel welcome
Review 65:The owner was very accommodating, was with my two children (2 and 10weeks) and they were made to feel very welcome and at home. Would highly recommend.

Review 71:Wonderful hospitality and perfect location . Would definitely recommend . Jennifer the dog is the most friendly softest guard dog I've ever met . Fantastic breakfast as well
Review 72:Very comfortable beds and spacious room, peaceful woodland location - only 5 minute drive from Cromer seafront, Amazona Zoo and Felbrigg Hall, excellent breakfast (we didn't need any lunch!), charming owner (Vicky) and dog (Jennifer) and best value around.
Review 73:There was nothing not to like
Review 74:We actually like the hosts ability to make us feel comfortable in a warm friendly , family orientated atmosphere. We liked eating our breakfast at a family table with others whilst chatting away to our host whilst she cooked our wonderful breakfast. It is unique to be welcomed in this way, felt like part if the family and loved Jennie and Archie her dog and cat and Neive her grand daughter. Definitely going back to this one!
Review 75:Wonderful accomodation in beautiful setting. More than ample space in our family room for us & our 3 grandsons aged 11 ( twins ) & 13. Very attentive hostess. Nothing too much trouble. Breakfast extreemly good & plentiful. We would definately recomend to everyone.
Review 76:Fantastic stay with my husband & 11 year old son! Roni made us feel so very welcome! Very relaxed atmosphere, we enjoyed the fabulous breakfasts on the terrace overlooking the garden. Jennifer the dog was my sons friend for life when he saved a bacon treat for her everyday. It was almost like staying with friends rather than a B & B& the Poppy Room was lovely with French doors to the front terrace. Hoping to come back next year & hopefully see the new pup?!!
Review 77:The whole stay was enjoyable from the friendly welcome with nothing seeming to much trouble for the owner to the wonderful breakfast served the following morning.
Review 78:The hostess was fantastic and allowed us use of the outdoor eating area and BBQ in the evening which gave us all a chance to relax and catch up. We had two small children with us who were fully catered for with beds and toys.
Review 79:nothing
