Reviews for Hayne Barn House
Review 1:Directions are very poor no distances included in description and no markers e.g. "past sandling station" to confirm the correct direction. Also we found ourselves locked in (locked front door marked Fire Escape) overnight.
Review 2:Quiet and comfortable
Review 3:Large clean room however no one on duty from arrival to departure andonly briefly meet a lady at breakfast time who then disappeared asquickly. Continental breakfast was self-service however no pastries orcroissants! It was only on my departure calling out for someone to takemy room key from me, I noticed already set up on a table in back room aglass dome of 5 assorted pastries and pack of croissants, obviously notfor the guests!
Review 4:The Location for my business purpose over two days
Review 5:Tiny washbasin in the Sunflower room requires contortions to use. Breakfast is unimaginative but acceptable. On our second one night visit the staff had failed to leave out butter and a cafetiere, so we had to find the kitchen which fortunately was left unlocked and get things ourselves because no one is present. Having said that, these things are probably a one-off and do not outbalance the positives.
Review 6:Lovely welcome, off the beaten track in a lovely rural setting, able to park the packed car in complete security, comfortable bed, free wifi (not the fastest but OK)
Review 7:A dreamy location. lots of character and had the whole place to ourselves! Very convenient for early Channel Tunnel crossing. Lovely gardens and wildlife.
Review 8:The room was a bit dated but great value Im not complaining at all.
Review 9:Liked the friendliness and helpfulness of Rebecca Fluers and her husband. I arrived late but It was no problem
Review 10:It would be nice to have the complimentary tea and coffee replaced daily. No marmalade on the breakfast table.
Review 11:Lovely quiet location and pleasant staff.
Review 12:We liked the style of the house, the grounds and the contacts we had prior and during our stay. They went out of their way to make sure we were well catered for, especially as they had family event occurring at the same time.
Review 13:Nothing
Review 14:Beautiful countryside property, confortable room with all the amenities, friendly and welcoming staff; the self service breakfast was perfect as we had a 6 am departure Ideal for channel tunnel travellers
Review 15:Fantastic location, very peaceful. A lovely entrance to the property, very pretty and I was told the driveway had just been relaid which felt very smooth. Good facilities in the room including tea/coffee and a tv and a good breakfast selection. Would definately recommend this bed and breakfast and I would stay here again next time i'm down that way.
Review 16:The property was isolated along a poorly maintained (in places) narrow road with no lighting. We had to change rooms because the shower in the first room was blocked and nearly overflowed.
Review 17:Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable rooms.
Review 18:It is definitely more for the wedding side of things and I got the feeling they don't usually get b&b guests. It was further away from Hythe than we thought and in the morning our bedroom door was stuck so we had to pass the key under the door and get my sister to open it but if she wasn't there we could have been stuck for hours.
Review 19:It was a really lovely place to stay, the host was very helpful and friendly. We had the whole place to ourselves and could let ourselves in and out which was great. When the heating wasn't working they came straight over and fixed it.
Review 20:Would benefit from adding a sofa, fridge and separate shower in deluxe room perhaps and temperature control but the stay was good. Would return.
Review 21:Lovely house, great hosts.
Review 22:There was no exterior light which made it difficult to see the keyhole for the exterior door when we got back in the evening There was also insufficent lighting in the dining area The road up to the house was full of potholes but we were advised that this was going to be repaired prior to the following season
Review 23:The member of staff was very friendly and the accommodation itself was comfortable It was also less that a fifteen minute drive to the Eurotunnel
Review 24:A superior room really does need TWO bedside tables, TWO bedside lights and TWO chairs, and either a stool or chair in the bathroom, with tumblers for the basin. The first part of the drive was in a very bad state of repair.
Review 25:Pretty setting. Comfortable bed and lots of hot water. the furnishings were pretty sparse for a so-called superior room. The DIY B&B worked fairly well. Convenient for Channel Tunnel.
Review 26:The bedroom was quite sparse with no bedside table one side and was also hard to make a drink with the kettle on the floor. The breakfast was all left in the fridge but toaster and kettle were not plugged in so had to get on the floor so we could find a plug to have a coffee/tea. There were 2 other people that came in as we had just finished and because the selection was quite limited I think that we had taken some of their breakfast. It was a serve yourself system which seemed to be a little on the short side. What we had was nice though.
Review 27:We did like the proximity to the Channel Tunnel and the location was quiet and we felt our car was safe overnight.
Review 28:Two single beds pushed together to 'create' a double. No shower No wardrobe No T.V And the room was supposed to be a superior room! No menu for cooked breakfast had to have what they had!
Review 29:Friendly staff. Lovely setting. Stunning grounds.
Review 30:Not very warm, breakfast was very basic. In dry weather, probably very nice but in the wet, the facilities in the house were minimal.
Review 31:Poor heating room was cold Room wasn't cleaned or changed Breakfast, cereals stale not much choice
Review 32:Tranquility, interesting building
Review 33:None
Review 34:Quiet, friendly B&B. Easy to get to the Channel Tunnel.

Review 51:All good
Review 52:No TV - especially on the night England were playing in the world cup. No faculties for hanging clothes.
Review 53:Convenient location to Eurotunnel.
Review 54:Would have liked a TV in the room-didn't realise there wouldn't be one when booking.Cleanliness could be improved- big cobwebs in bathroom, and a few other little touches to décor needed here and there to make it lovely, but generally good and enjoyed our stay.
Review 55:Friendly welcome. The location was ideal, secure, and the room was nice. Good breakfast provided. Found a good Thai restaurant in the local town.
Review 56:Double Bed in single sized room. Only 2 pillows on bed. No chairs--a narrow bench to sit on. Hooks behind door to hang clothes. Very high step into shower -narrow doorway. No full length mirror. No TV.
Review 57:Very pleasant and helpful receptionist. Very clean room.
Review 58:Nothing!
Review 59:Lovely Arts and Crafts old building, full of character. Very comfy and receptionist really friendly and helpful. Close to Hythe and to explore that part of the coast and easy access to Eurotunnel.
Review 60:Bathroom could do with updating. A shower would be nice in the bath. Surprised to find that it's unattended but perhaps I didn't read the website properly when I booked
Review 61:Beautiful property and nice big rooms. Staff very friendly.
Review 62:Rooms became cold during the night, so we used the portable electric heater. No staff on property overnight.
Review 63:Oldey worldy property with history. Choice of continental or full English breakfast served in drawing room. Had hotel to ourselves, only 3 bedrooms available. Great as wedding venue. Very quiet position. Staff friendly. Comfy bed in Sunflower Room.
