Reviews for Madame Vacances Hôtel Le Mottaret***

Review 1:Only negative was actually finding the hotel when we first arrived. Suggest they provide a better instruction on how to locate.

Review 2:The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. the local ski bus was a 5 minute walk away giving easy access to Meribel. The hotel itself was right on the slopes and could ski down to the lift/

Review 3:We were transferred to an alternative studio apartment next door due to a late flood of a few of their room. All worked out well and we were upgraded to full board to address the inconvenience (without having to ask)

Review 4:Staff couldn't be more helpful and wishing to accomodate

Review 5:food really much worse in 2016 compared with former years, especially no vegetarian choices anymore. Also the lunch is mainly now fast food and not real healthy food anymore

Review 6:location is good staff is friendly and supportive

Review 7:Some maintenance is required to complete the recent renovation i.e. door handles towel racks which are new bat loose

Review 8:The hotel manager Virginia was amazing and really made our stay feel like a 4* hotel due to the warm welcome and service of her staff and her in particular. great bar and great location.

Review 9:We stayed at the Hôtel Le Mottaret for 3 nights shortly before Christmas 2015. The Hotel had just opened and we were one of the first guests. Location: The Hotel is located perfectly in the middle of Meribel-Mottaret, right next to the piste (Ski in/Ski out, just a street in between). The parking spaces in front of the Hotel are a bit limited but just around the corner is a huge parking space. Staff: The Staff of the Hotel is one of its biggest assets. Everybody bye met was always nice and willing to help. Especially the Manager Virginia was extremely friendly, forthcoming and there whenever we needed her help. She gave us good tips and went over and beyond. A great host! Rooms: The rooms of the Hotel were quite ok. Most importantly they were clean. Some of them have been renovated recently with quite modern bathrooms (make sure you catch one of those). Beds were comfortable and they even offer several choices of pillows (anti-allergic, down, etc.) Bar/Lobby: The Bar is quite nice and offers a variety of beverages and alcohol. We had a quite nice time there in the evening with the other guests. On top, barkeeper and staff was, as always, very nice and friendly. Facilities: The Hotel has a nice outdoor-terrace (which is used over the day for BBQ lunches, etc. In addition, the Hotel has a hot tub in front, which we used extensively during our stay. Food: We only had breakfast and lunch at the Hotel. Both was nice. Especially the breakfast was good as a nice mix of “full english” and french (Baguette, variety of cheeses, etc.) was served. Also here, staff was always very friendly. Overall, we would definitely stay there again!

Review 10:They are in the middle of a long term renovation. It is being done really well but there are areas that look a bit shabby compared to the rest. It is a very minor gripe, and everything is still clean and tidy.

Review 11:The food and bar is exceptional. Go all inclusive if you can. The staff want to help and will be as chatty as you invite them to be but still leave you in peace. The location on the slopes was exactly what we wanted.

Review 12:WiFi only in public areas, but this was a minor issue compared to the overall excellent experience

Review 13:Friendliness & helpfulness of staff & all inclusive deal

Review 14:Some of the plumbing is very "French" and basic compared to UK hotels of a similar standard.

Review 15:Location very close to the slopes and a hire shop. Very friendly and responsive staff. Free, effective wifi good standard of food included

Review 16:Dinners main course was not good the rest was lovely. They tried to make the main course to complicate.

Review 17:Staff were great, very helpfull nothing seemed to much trouble.

Review 18:- price does not reflect the quality - rooms need some serious refurbishment and very small - poor quality of bathrooms, dirty and too small - superior rooms only get a benefit of having a bath or a balcony. otherwise they do not differ from standard rooms - no proper ski room - ordered cognac from the bar - had a cognac mixed with water. though received apologies after.

Review 19:- good location: relatively close to lifts - relatively nice food with a good variety - good hotel if you need it just for sleeping - nice welcoming members of staff

Review 20:Great location for the town and slopes. I felt well looked after without being fussed over. The view of the valley from the back of the hotel is breathtaking.

Review 21:Avoid the restaurant Bathroom very small The Name of the hotel is actually "Hôtel Le Mottaret" is you looking at it on street indications.

Review 22:The Bed

Review 23:Location: 20 meters from slopes. Staff: very helpful and nice. Excellent ski room, boots room. Brand new bathroom.

Review 24:guest rooms are a bit small

Review 25:Excellent service of the young management and its team, good food and perfect location close to the slopes

Review 26:Ski-room and bathroom.

Review 27:Staff

Review 28:Little or no wi-fi at times

Review 29:The location and the extremely friendly and efficient staff.

Review 30:bad quality of wi-fi

Review 31:very friendly staff

Review 32:Wifi was poor.

Review 33:Location, food, service.

Review 34:EVRYTHING

Review 35:NOTHING

Review 36:bathroom carpet on the floor

Review 37:location price bed

Review 38:Although rooms are described as "spacious" they are in fact very small indeed - not enough room for two people to get dressed at the same time, barely room between the end of the bed and the bedroom furniture. The rooms are said to have "satellite TV" - however there is not one English-speaking channel. The hotel was advertised as having been totally refurbished - however our bathroom had certainly not been touched for many years, it was tired and had cracked tiles. Our bathroom was not cleaned once during our week-long stay - the sink had become pretty filthy by the time we left. We should have had Wifi in our room but it did not work. I spoke to the staff about this, they said that the Wifi was not great but there was nothing that could be done about it. On departing, I was overcharged on the final invoice. Luckily I noticed and had with me a print-out of the information from Booking.com so the mistake (by "Head Office" apparently) was rectified. I would not return to this hotel.

Review 39:Location - close to the slopes of Mottaret.

Review 40:The price and the issues with the bill on second last day when the Hotel tried to overcharge us by €300 per room. This took a long time to sort out and put a downer on the whole holiday.

Review 41:Location - could ski into and out of the Hotel & staff were friendly

Review 42:We came via a coach from the railway station and, because we arrived after dark, it would have been helpful if we had clearer directions about the exact location of the hotel. (e.g the name of the bus stop and a little map or clear directions from there - would have helped)

Review 43:The staff were extremely helpful. Good Value. The food was of a good standard and the meat dishes were exceptional.

Review 44:The bathrooms are old and the shower was of the poorest I've seen in a hotel. Cleaning standards were quite low. The ski room is just a basement were you can dump your skis and boots.

Review 45:Location is perfect for skiing. The buffet dinner had some up and downs but overall was quite good. The bar has a nice atmosphere.

Review 46:Rooms a bit tacky and twin room beds to small

Review 47:Good vibes

Review 48:Very friendly staff, perfect location.

Review 49:Beds (too small)

Review 50:Decoration, tidiness, food, staff, bar, size - all really good. Want to come back next year.

Review 51:Shower very poor

Review 52:Bed very comfortable. Helpful, friendly staff and good food

Review 53:The group of young men, who thought it was a 18 to 21 club (Ibiza rocks)

Review 54:The food

Review 55:direct access to the slopes very nice staff all included formula value for money

Review 56:Wi-Fi is not reliable. Fitness Centre is very dated and not worth using.

Review 57:Affordability

Review 58:Nothing

Review 59:The staff was absolutely superb and the location could not be better.
