Reviews for Henwick House
Review 1:I didn't think the property was very well signposted which made it difficult to find especially in the dark!
Review 2:I liked the room as it felt very homely. Was also very happy with the free wifi during my stay. Would definitely return again in the future.
Review 3:Dawn showed us to our cosy cabin, where there was a choice of tea, coffee and hot chocolate with biscuits and chocolates to welcome us. We were advised of all the facilities available to us. There was even a comfy sofa. I wasn't expecting the fridge and bottle opener, but I'll know for next time if we want to take our own cold drinks.
Review 4:My room was very warm, the radiator had to be either off or it was on full blast. There was no window in the room just a door to a balcony that I had to leave open all night. Breakfast on a tray was recommended by the host, it was a selection of of prewrapped long life breakfast pastries and pot porridge. Really dreadful. The situation is rural, you will need to drive to get dinner etc, the B&B does not allow you to consume takeaway food in the rooms.
Review 5:There was a warm welcome and the room was clean.
Review 6:Proprietor was terribly rude - both when I arrived and the following morning. An unfriendly welcome after a long day of travel :(
Review 7:Smart rooms and a pretty location.
Review 8:We didn't know from the Booking website that it was in a fairly remote position as the address on the Website was Gt Malvern.
Review 9:Helpful and friendly people Very clean Very nice room
Review 10:If I was to be picky, the drive to the house could do with a bit of TLC
Review 11:The whole weekend was superb, the rooms were first class, the staff could not have been more helpful.
Review 12:No complaints whatsoever.
Review 13:It was a beautiful, comfortable wood cabin with 24 hour access to the main house if required (we didn't use it as room had everything) and the staff were helpful and generous.
Review 14:Location was just the best for us - Quiet country area not quite isolated but off the main roads. Breakfast was all we could have asked for and plentiful.
Review 15:The arrangement of the bedroom could be better. The bed was situated as such that there was no light available above the bed or even beside it to read by or whatever. The access road in to the B & B was very rough with huge potholes.
Review 16:The location was perfect, right in the middle of several cities, yet in the countryside which was so quiet and peaceful at night. Great pub nearby for food.
Review 17:Not easy to find in the dark! Room a bit small. Small double bed. Glad I wasn't sharing! Bathroom very small. No complimentary toiletries. Only 2 sachets of coffee. No decaf. A bit pricey considering breakfast wasn't included. Not a room in the main house but a separate annexe.
Review 18:Clean comfortable room. Quiet location.
Review 19:Great B&B, in a beautiful area. The rooms are comfortable & well appointed. Very friendly owners and great breakfast! Would stay again if in the area!
Review 20:Fabulous rooms, private and very comfortable. With a sofa and table, we could relax with a coffee without having to sit on beds. Quiet and peaceful surroundings
Review 21:Breakfast was to be served at 8.30 useless to someone who has got to getto work. There was no alternative offered poor lighting in the roomDidn't see owner after checking in again for 2 days
Review 22:The room had a lovely view and was clean and nicely decorated
Review 23:Wifi wasn't usable in room at all. Bathroom mirror too far away for short-sighted guests!
Review 24:Nice to have a room away from the main house (more like a mini holiday home). Great to have a fridge, wine glasses & own patio area. Well placed to visit Malvern, Worcester and Ledbury
Review 25:The property itself was not well sign posted and was not easy to find with an easily missed narrow untarmaced lane
Review 26:We were warmly welcomed and shown our room, the facilities were lovely and the room was snug but had everything you needed for a weekend break. Outlook from window was gloriou
Review 27:Late book in, had to wait to get booked in, will book again if we can get in earlier
Review 28:Just pleasantly surprised how good it was, loved the room, comfort and good breakfast
Review 29:Not a single thing to criticise
Review 30:Liked everything! Friendly welcome, well equipped room, immaculately clean, great view towards the hills and Worcester. Fantastic breakfast, freshly cooked. Great value for money. Nothing was too much trouble ..........the best Bed and Breakfast have ever stayed in, would certainly go again, and recommend to any type of guest - whether there for business or leisure....
Review 31:Road up to it was dreadful. Chalet 5 Shower water sprayed the opposite wall rather than on you.It was a juggle to get any water on you at all. Toilet seat was weird too. Room quite small.
Review 32:Very clean. Bed comfortable.
Review 33:Breakfast room was a bit cramped. We had no problem sharing a table with another couple, but some people may not like this. I peeked into one of the room of the main house, that seems quite small, therefore it would be wise to specify your needs. It is a pity that the wall between 'our' room and that of the 'neighbors' is a bit thin. Our neighbours were as quiet as ourselves, but we heard them talking after waking up in the morning. However, this is no reason not to go to Henwick House!.
Review 34:Lovely area, very quiet location. We stayed in a new part consisting of two rooms. Nicely decorated, good parking space. Not easy to find on a 'dirt road' but there is no traffic! It was a nice surprise. Will definitely go back when in the area. .
Review 35:Such a quiet and peaceful place and yet within easy reach of Malvern Worcester and the motorway. This is somewhere that I would thoroughly recommend and certainly revisit.
Review 36:Unmade track approx 100 metres leading from road to the property.
Review 37:Superb facilities, and top breakfast. Quiet, no internal or external noises. Friendly Hosts. Parking on-site, outside front door. No passing traffic.
Review 38:landlady was rather brusque told us off for not knowing her doorbell was remote didnt include our breakfast with the booking (had to make sure we re-booked it) there didnt seem to be an option to select the meal when we booked. had to pay on arrival Not VAT registered
Review 39:the garden the views The downstairs bathroom (room 9)
Review 40:Everything ok
Review 41:The room was very well presented and the breakfast was very good with plenty of assorted cereals. Would be good for both couples and single participants in a good location to get the main attractions in the surrounding area. The owners are very pleasant Most enjoyable Thank you Steve Malone ECB Umpire
Review 42:Could not get wifi at all on any device, nor via my EE 4G dongal so beware if a business traveller. Bad design faults in room, pillows completely flat, bed like a hard slab, sockets placed to far from mirror for hairdryer or tongs to reach, inconsistent facilities - my colleague had a fridge and DVD player, I didn't though we paid the same, no extractor in bathroom and although a small window there was a 3 foot ledge to climb on to get to it, nowhere in shower to put soaps, etc. Not asked how our stay was at the end of the 3 nights which I thought would be basic customer service.
Review 43:Room 10 had the initial "Wow" factor in terms of decor. Location is beautiful and ideal for Three Counties Showground.
Review 44:The shower was clogged up with the hair of previous occupants so the shower tray flooded while in use.
Review 45:The rooms were well appointed; we got one looking out over the garden. The rooms were clean. There was a guests' lounge with lots of information about the local area.
Review 46:The B&B is in the countryside so you have to factor in longer commuting time from local attractions (e.g. hiking trails or historic towns).
Review 47:I had a nice bedroom overlooking a nice garden with a lovely decking. The room was smallish but had everything you need, and the bed was top class! Also, a very nice large bathroom! The couple who run the B&B were very welcoming! Delicious breakfast!
Review 48:Wifi wasn't the best, shower struggled for any sort of pressure!
Review 49:Bed was really comfortable, the views were astounding and the general facilities went above and beyond what was expected of a B and B!
Review 50:Nothing.
Review 51:The room (Lodge) was really nice, a good size with good facilities and the breakfast was very good. You get 10% off food at the local pub as well :)
Review 52:Location was lovely, as were all the staff (who were most helpful on our 'special birthday' weekend).Everything was as we would have wanted it - the pity was that we were unable to stay longer. So we would probably rebook at some future date. Well done!
Review 53:Apparently we hadn't opted for breakfast when we booked & as no one else had either (surprisingly on Easter Sunday) none would be provided! Odd & very disappointing for a B&B, but I can thoroughly recommend Wetherspoons!
Review 54:Great countryside setting, but with local pubs close by. Very comfortable bed and good shower!
Review 55:it was ok, did the job, would not be in a hurry to go back there, telly did not work when we turned it on, there was no information as to how it should work, we had to call the lady on the Saturday, but could not be bothered with it on Sunday morning as did not work again.
Review 56:Shower was either hot or cold, difficult to control.
Review 57:splendid isolation, it is obviously a work in progress. The approach road and direction sign to the entrance needs improving.
Review 58:Nothing that we didn't like. Disappointed that we didn't realise until too late that we hadn't booked for breakfast (through Booking.com). MacDonalds wasn't far away! Was intrigued to see inside the main house, but didn't get to see it.
Review 59:My daughter and I stayed in a log cabin, this was well equipped, spotlessly clean, lovely shower, although beware if water pressure drops the water temp shoots up.
Review 60:All I would say is Was bit difficult to find but a Haven when Found:) Thankyou
Review 61:Everything! It was spotlessly clean. Warm welcome on arrival from Dawn and my room was stunning! very enjoyable and will definitely return!
Review 62:We were in a lodge seperate from the main building that look nothing like the picture advertising Henwick House, that wasn't mentioned when I booked it via Bookings.com and I didn't realise I had booked a twin room and no breakfast, it wasn't that obvious on the booking form. The drive to the property is a dirt track with numerous undulations.
Review 63:Warm and clean
Review 64:The wifi didnt work which limited my ability to do my work. Instructions for its use should be clear including which network to connect to among the very many that get listed when you plug in.
Review 65:cleanliness and warmth. comfortable bed. availability of cofee/tea facilities was great.
Review 66:Bed very uncomfortable. no shelf in bathroom for own toiletries. Room was small Shower was very tempremental and poor pressure.
Review 67:Cleanliness Politeness Modern décor Warm
Review 68:The WiFi was somewhat unreliable, especially in the evening (presumably when their were a lot of guests connected).
Review 69:Room was very clean, smart and comfortable and although quite small it represented good value for a solo traveller. Location was good for Worcester, Malvern and my longer trips to Hereford, Ledbury, etc.
Review 70:The water pressure in the shower wasn't very good (I know this sounds silly but we were walking at winter so a nice hot shower is a must!) and the nearest pub is a walk down a very dark country road away - the pub is lovely and this isn't the fault of the house, but you should take a torch and be prepared to jump out of the way of cars.
Review 71:The owner was very friendly and helpful. There is a nice atmosphere and it is comfortable.
Review 72:Arrived very late due to poor weather and driving conditions. Was difficult to find in dark. Also required use of printer and said they couldn't help.
Review 73:Room and bed was excellent breakfast was excellent too.
Review 74:No breakfast.
Review 75:Stayed in the lodge. Peaceful location with superb facilities. Comfy king-size bed. Sofa to lounge on. Fridge for water & wine. Excellent shower. Everything you could wish for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Quality!
Review 76:Thought the room was a bit cramped and we were very disappointed therewas no breakfast . if this was mentioned on the booking.com advert itwas not clear and as the place was called Henwick House Bed andBreakfast , guess what ! we expected breakfast .
Review 77:Despite being cramped , it was clean and modern .
Review 78:3 squares of toilet roll no second roll and as after 11 at night no one to get any from . Sure just an oversite ,
Review 79:Very nice location , nice breakfast
Review 80:When i book bed&breakfast thats what i expect! only to arrive and find breakfast is extra.I suppose this is how Booking.com keeps its prices down 20% off no breakfast!.Come on Booking.com do it properly B&B means bed&breakfast
Review 81:Nothing really, but the access road was poor.
Review 82:The room was very comfortable with very good facilities. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very helpful and friendly
Review 83:If had to choose something, the uneven road surface leading from main road to the property.
Review 84:Everything about the B & B was as stated. Extremely friendly owners and breakfast very good and lots of it. Property not easy to locate in the dark but well worth the effort. Our party stayed two mights in bedroom number 9 and 6, both excellent.
Review 85:We were asked for full payment up front before even seeing the room. We were also told we had paid too much for the room via the internet site I had used...not a very friendly welcome. However the room was so small you could only just get in and out of the bed, only one chair, nowhere for suitcases, kettle base screwed down on to shelf to avoid accidents because the shelf was so small.
Review 86:Good pub near by and easy access to beautiful countryside. Brilliant view from the room. Breakfast was good. Comfortable bed. Sitting room provided with lots of books.
Review 87:Nothing
Review 88:We were cycling from John O'Groats to Lands End so just an overnight stay but the accomodation was excellent, clean comfortable and with a proper shower. Local pub was excellent too with good food, beer and service and 10% discount on the food for staying at Henwick House.
Review 89:Hard to find - merely a paper loosely stuck on a tree saying "b&b" - ridiculous! Strangely cold staff. Told at breakfast "we don't do boiled eggs" - only fried. No sense of being welcomed. Pay on arrival. Nobody there on departure. All very peculiar!
Review 90:The accommodation was fine. Very quiet rural location. Car needed.
Review 91:There was no breakfast on the weekends and no close by place to get any. The road to the house was dirt and gravel not paved and full of pot holes, not good for your car's suspension. It was NOT in Great Malvern as advertised, but out in the country and very hard to find.
Review 92:IT was clean, and the room was nice enough. IT was very quiet.
Review 93:Bathroom very small was not able to get dress I did not realize ther was no breakfast so a lot of money just for a bed the drive to the b&b was terrible potholes all over the place
Review 94:The shower was excellent
Review 95:only one problem ; advertised as B&B, but only on arrival discovered no breakfast unless paid for
Review 96:bedroom fine breakfast fine but see opposite pleasant views from garden
Review 97:1. Quiet location. 2. Good access into Malvern or Upton or Worcester. 3. One key only needed to get into our room. 4. Friendly but never nosey. We hope to come again.
Review 98:Steep stairs up to room
Review 99:Lovely stay very peaceful.I can't comment on breakfast because I had to leave early each day.Beds comfortable Would recommend.
Review 100:Dirt drive with large pot holes to get to house, outbuildings are where you stay. Beds not particularly comfy, poor sound proofing, could clearly hear couple above snoring most of the night, which kept me awake most of the night.
Review 101:Clean, in a good state of repair. Good breakfast food. A quiet location in principle, see dislikes.
Review 102:Agree with previous comment regarding better signposting, had I not read it I suspect I would have difficulty finding the premises.
Review 103:Clean throughout, Lovely outlook from the main house with nice big attractive garden & patio area. Good breakfast.Plenty of room to park.Helpful arrangement for discount on meals at local pub.
Review 104:Although we believed breakfast had been included in the advertised price when we were considering who to book with, we were advised upon arrival that we had purchased room only. We were advised the tick box to request meal had not been ticked. As this was the second B&B we had booked with Booking.com where the price included a meal, then we believed that was the system for all B&B bookings. This is nothing to do with the people running the B&B more to do with your booking system. Our bill was an unexpected £31.80 more expensive than budgetted for. There was just English breakfast provided, although we acknowledge that if we had wanted additions/deletions that would be possible. However, we were not sure if anything other English breakfast choices would have been available; such as smoked haddock, kippers etc.
Review 105:The quality of the breakfast was very good. Fresh, served piping hot and good quality produce.
Review 106:Very small room and tiny bath. Electric toilets very noisy. Breakfast room awkward.
Review 107:Lovely position in countryside. Ideal for hiking. Worcester and Malvern not too far away by car. Very comfortable bed. Quiet, lovely garden.
Review 108:The road to the property was a bit rough and potholded and because my car has a sports suspension the going was slow.
Review 109:We stopped in a cabin outside the house, this was comfortable and clean, the internet in the cabin didn't work very well but in the sitting room in the house it worked fine. The garden has various places to sit and enjoy the view across the landscape to Worcester, the owners were helpful and informative, the full English breakfast were great as well as healthy
Review 110:having to drive up a old cart track with big pot holes in it they dont like children we picked my 5 year old grandson up the went to book in she sternly told us no children allowed we thought she was going to say stop in the car till we booked in . we new children where not allowed but coming with us just to book in we thought was ok clearly not
Review 111:good clean room good breakfast service good veiw
Review 112:Friendly welcoming staff, the room was excellent and very comfortable. Very clean with excellent facilities! Many thanks for a relaxed overnight stay.
Review 113:Very clean room although a little compact. Well presented with fridge and wine glasses and a bottle opener (nice touch). Our room also had its own patio
Review 114:The entrance to Henwick House, was misleading, looking at 'web' picture - looks as though it is approached from a road, not a track. B&B sign on the Tree, hard to locate, when looking for this place. Would not have found it myself, if my Niece had not done a 'reccy' the day before I arrived.
Review 115:Very pleasant helpful Owners, everything I needed for a short stay.
Review 116:Not much
Review 117:Friendly owner. The rooms are nice and quiet. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is delicious.
Review 118:Fabulous accommodation . Great breakfast.
Review 119:Very good location and quiet and exceptionally clean and smart
Review 120:The staff were always friendly.
Review 121:The stat was perfect the décor was lovley and we was treated great all in all a great weekend thanks to the both of them
Review 122:Every thing very nice place pub down road was brilliant staff the food
Review 123:We really loved the timber cabins.
Review 124:Quality of cooked breakfast was poor.
Review 125:The room was very comfortable. Staff very friendly. Lovely environment. Easy parking.
Review 126:Breakfast wasn't mentioned on check in, so then awkward in the morning when I suggested I want some. It was 8.99 for a full English.
Review 127:No opening window/s in patio room, gets a little stuffy.
Review 128:Excellent breakfast and friendly hosts, great location for exploring the area.
Review 129:the only minus was the rough approach road
Review 130:comfortable
Review 131:It is situated down a track and a long way from the nearest pub, very dark to walk down at night
Review 132:accommodation and meals were excellent
