Review 12:There was nothing we didnt like, no problems
Review 13:The fold guest house is a lovely peaceful place. From the moment you arrive you are made welcome. The rooms are tidy and comfortable and the on suit is clean and modern. The cooked breakfast is very recommend and will keep you filled up for a long time, especially if you are going walking on any of the many walks. The guest house is in an ideal location for travelling around the area, being only 30minute drive from lake Windermere, we visited many places while we were in the area and the fold was the ideal base.
Review 14:Wifi wasn't free Breakfast - small portion, only white bread, no choice of egg (only fried), no beans. Small room
Review 15:Friendly staff Comfortable bed Clean Bathroom newly refurbished
Review 16:Limited number of places to eat in the evening unless you drive out into the nearby towns and villages.
Review 17:Slightly off the beaten track, but with good access to the southern Lake District. Sitting outside in the evening and I could only hear bees, birdsong and sheep! Very welcoming and friendly staff, good breakfast and a comfortable nights sleep in a very clean room. The King William pub (5 minutes walk away) serves a good range of food and their Rump steaks are excellent. It's well worth booking because it can get busy
Review 18:The only negative aspect was probably the fact that a glass shelf had been placed directly over the basin which made it near impossible to brush the teeth or do the make-up!
Review 19:Friendliness of owners, neatness of establishment, good breakfast and comfortable accommodation, all round fair value for money.
Review 20:Nothing

Review 55:It is not 8 miles to Barrow it is about 30-35 miles
Review 56:Very clean guest house and Kevin the owner nice lad very chatty. Also just up the road from the guest house there is a pub called the kings does lovely food

Review 58:The staff were very amenable, friendly and welcoming. The facilities were easily adequate and exceptionally clean.
Review 59:very warm and welcoming, clean and comfortable room and breakfast cooked just the way I like it. wouldn't hesitate to recommend or stay again myself!
Review 60:Booking.com say the trip from Barrow to The Fold is only 8 miles, infact it is 26 miles by road, but the drive is worth it.
Review 61:The hosts go out of their way to make you comfortable, very friendlypair. Highly recommended.
Review 62:Couldn't fault it.
Review 63:A well run Guesthouse, warm friendly welcome. Immaculate room and comfortable bed. Excellent cooked breakfast and plenty of other choices. Great advice from owners about things to do, places to see and where to dine. A very enjoyable 5 day break.

Review 65:Everything was brilliant.
Review 66:The owners of this B&B were fantastic. Very friendly atmosphere. The room was extremely comfortable. The owner met us with a very informative chat about the local area and what was to do and where to eat. Couldn't ask for more.
Review 67:The only possible improvement would have been the option to have fruit at breakfast. Otherwise a spot on stay.
Review 68:Kev and Rochelle were very welcoming. We watched the sun go down on the beach ,had a quick half in the King Billy and then slept well in the comfy bed with cotton sheets.
Review 69:Thank you Kevin and Rechelle for a wonderful few days stay at the Fold. Our room was lovely, and great lovely mugs to enjoy a welcoming drink. Very peaceful in beautiful surroundings. the garden was a joy to relax in. Breakfast was delicious, sausages scrummy from a local butcher. We visited The King William 2 mins away for a great meal, the steak was cooked just as I like it. The host Barry and the young men who served us were very friendly and helpful, thank you. We would recommend The Fold Guesthouse as a lovely place to stay whilst visiting the South Lakes. Ian and Elaine
Review 70:The En-Suite in our room was a little small but saying that, it looked brand new and modern and fresh. -There could have been a more generous supply of coffee for our kettle. We were given more when we asked for some.
Review 71:The Fold Guesthouse is a quaint old cottage situated near Cumbrian Horses where we had booked a ride. A pub is at walking distance known for their reasonably priced delicious steaks. The cottage is clean, neat and our stay was organised and cared for with a lot of attention to detail. The owners are friendly and chatty giving lots of advice regarding walks and sights in the area.
Review 72:Pub at the end of the road is poor, not much choice on the beerfront, which was a pity. Also the nearby town of Millom is veryrundown , again a pity. The Fold is 2 mile away at Kirksanton, whichis a lovely village.
Review 73:It was a completely relaxing experience. The hosts were very welcomingand friendly without being over the top. Room was spotlessly clean aswas the bathroom. Comfortable bed , we had a room with a view of BlackCoombe which we had just climbed. Quiet , would recommend and alreadyhave done to family and friends. We had never visited Waswater Lake, close by, but on recommendation we found it to be the most beautifulLake in the Lake district , a must see. We will be back.
Review 74:The guest house was quiet and had a relaxing atmosphere. The staff were lovely and made you feel welcome straight away. The rooms were clean and very comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. Will definitely be returning.
Review 75:Everything, the couple who run the guesthouse, were very personable and friendly and made us feel at home right from the start. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
Review 76:Little to do on an evening without using the car. Away from everything.
Review 77:Friendly owners, very helpful, made to feel welcome. comfortable room, very clean. Good breakfast.
Review 78:Couldn't fault anything.
Review 79:Very friendly welcoming hosts. Once through the front door we were pleasantly surprised by the standard of the presentation and the breakfast was excellent. We would thoroughly recommend this accommodation to any traveller.
Review 80:Excellent small B&B run by the very friendly couple who own it. On the boundary between the Furness Peninsular and the Western Lakes. Hodbarrow nature reserve is a 10 minute ride away. And the mouths of Eskdale and the very beautiful (but relatively unknown) Duddon Valley are within very easy reach by car.
Review 81:Nothing to dislike.
Review 82:Warm friendly welcome.Very clean, fresh and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. All in a very peaceful, beautiful location close to Lake district attractions.
Review 83:Nothing at all it's perfect
Review 84:A spur of the moment booking because of the good weather meant a fourth visit to the Fold. Once again we can only describe our visit as outstanding. The excellent standards have continued and Kev and Rachelle are by far most friendly and helpful hosts you could ever meet.
Review 85:There was nothing I didn't like. Very lovely and relaxing location and accommodations.
Review 86:Host/hostess most friendly. Wonderful English breakfast.. Lovely room and beautifully restored cottage home on a quiet English country road near the coast.
Review 87:nothing will be staying again.
Review 88:Warm reception and the attention to detail was superb. Excellent room ,comfortable bed and first class breakfast. a B & B not to be missed.
Review 89:Very friendly hosts and it was very clean and comfortable. The views and listening to the birds was an attraction in the peaceful setting. Excellent breakfast which was personally chosen.
Review 90:So friendly ad welcoming. The bed was SO comfy but the pillows was my only down point. Couldn't have asked for more and would definitely recommend the Fold to others. Such a friendly and loving couple although my favourite was Rolly!
Review 91:Your incomplete list above.
Review 92:That list of words above is a bit inadequate. Can I add - Friendly. Quality. Excellent Food. Care. The Fold is a small extremely well run and beautifully designed guest house. Keven and Rachelle are excellent hosts. The rooms are well appointed and make very good use of space. I am 6'4" and stayed in the smallest room and ensuite shower was still big enough for me to bathe comfortably. There was also no footboard to the bed. (Why do hoteliers ever think a foot board is a good idea. It isn't - for anyone. And if you're tall it's a bloody nuisance.) I have two criteria for a quality B&B/Hotel - the shower and sausage test. Anyone who skimps on either is running a poor facility. The shower here was excellent and there is never any reason that sausage should not be locally sourced (and bacon) If it isn't then the place is going to run by an unpleasant cheapscate and should be avoided at all costs. The Fold excelled in both and is an excellent place that deserves many stars!
Review 93:We had a lovely 2 night stay at the Fold guest house. The staff werevery friendly and were helpful to us in suggesting routes for hikes andproviding us with maps and compasses. The morning tea tray in the roomwas well stocked with lots of milk.
Review 94:Hard to find any negatives, but perhaps the bathroom was a tad small, not really a problem though.
Review 95:Hosts were very welcoming, friendly and helpful, without being overbearing. Breakfast was fantastic, cooked to order and with lovely views from the dining room of various birds feeding. The bed was very comfortable, perfect after long, activity filled days!
Review 96:nothing, sorry that we couldnt have stayed longer
Review 97:A first class quality accommodation with excellent attention to detail, the owners made us feel very welcome given that we arrived so late and couldnt do enough to help. Everything was of excellent quality and we were served a very hearty breakfast to set us up for the day.
Review 98:Instead of a normal door, the bathroom had swinging louvered doors. My wife really didn't like the lack of privacy.
Review 99:Owners were super friendly/helpful. We got a free upgrade to a larger room which was quite cozy/clean. It is a short walk to some standing stones as well as the beach and a nice local pub. Everybody in the village there were also extremely nice. There are also quite a few things to do within driving distance.
Review 100:Very friendly couple, nice place, very good service, not far from thelakes. We left behind an adaptor plug and they were so nice thatmailed it to us
Review 101:Cold bathtoom, poor range of breakfast alternatives eg,fresh fruit, yoghurt, more than just juice
Review 102:Friendly hosts, comfy bed great to see so many garden birds.
Review 103:Kev and Rachelle, the owners, lovely people Peace and Tranquillity Comfort and cleanliness Superb breakfast cooked exactly as you like it Quaint house, beautiful Robin and other pretty birds to watch whilst having breakfast The lovely views from the bedroom overlooking the countryside Help with the luggage Excellent parking Fantastic area to explore, not as busy as the lakes but just as scenic with lots of towns worth visiting Good base and close to the sea Pub just down the road Kirksanton is just outside Millom Highly recommended
Review 104:Wi-fi worked only in the sitting room but it worked there very good.
Review 105:The owners and the house were lovely the en-suite was a bit small but both the bedroom&bathroom were very very clean. We really enjoyed being there and very highly recommended for everybody.
Review 106:Limited Wi-Fi mobile signal (this info for business travellers only) And would not diter me from staying agin :)
Review 107:Kevin ans Rachelle were the perfect hosts, this beautiful guest house is set in the back drop of South Cumbria, with it's amazing countryside and nature walks. I wish I had been there on a pleasure trip not business... I will definitely return for a long weekend with my husband. A very relaxing, tranquil place to stay, I can highly recommend a visit :)
Review 108:STOP LOOKING AND BOOK THE FOLD GUEST HOUSE! This is one of the best guest houses I have stayed in! Immaculate and cosy with a warm and friendly welcome. You won't be disappointed, we ordered an evening meal which was delicious and freshly home cooked and was very reasonably priced, we were able to pre order from the menu which was great. The breakfast was really good, and the homemade jam was to die for! We went to the pub in the evening 5 mins away, they also serve food which Keven and Rachelle also recommend and it did look very good. The service at The Fold was excellent and we had a relaxing time. We highly recommend The Fold Guest House!
Review 109:Excellent accomodation, bedrooms were well equiped and very clean and modern. Breakfast excellent and served early.Hosts very welcoming. I will definately be staying again.Great value for money.
Review 110:The only thing that I would say is the size of the roomwas smaller thandesired and the wi-fi only worked downstairs but these are trivialcriticisms compared to the great time we had.
Review 111:We loved "the Fold guest house", the hosts Kevin and Rochellewere fabulous and very friendly and funny. Always helped where theycould, whether it was lending a map or compass or suggesting lovelywalks. The guest house is a lovely old building with character and theroom was comfortable and very clean. There were also top-up stocks ofmilk, tea and coffee etc, which you don't see very often. One of thehighlights was sharing breakfast with a whole array of birds feedingright outside the window, not forgetting the woodpecker who came to seeus too (wow!!). Breakfast was very nice and very well presented on theplate, home-made jam and marmalade to (yum yum) Thankyou Kevin andRochelle for a fabulous stay :-)
Review 112:The B&B is situated on a quiet lane with wonderful countrysideviews, and a fabulous view of Blackcombe. When you walk into the houseyou are greeted by a lovely reception room with a log burner and comfyseats. The owners are very friendly, and make you feel very at ease. Theroom was very tastefully decorated, with tea and coffee makingfacilities (and extra supplies downstairs in the dining room ifrequired), and a tv mounted on the wall. A lovely quirk was the swingingsalon door on the bathroom! There are curtains for added privacy thatcover the door. The breakfast in the morning (you placed your order the night before) was delicious - a lovely 'clean' fry, cereal if you wanted it and toast with homemade jam and marmalade and tea/coffee.. They seem to be an eco-friendly B&B too which I thought was really nice. It is just round the corner, about a 2 minute walk, from a lovely pub with an open fire, that serves a brilliant steak and a carvery on a Sunday. It is about a £4 taxi ride into Millom, and it is worth visiting the Da Vinci restaurant which serves brilliant Italian food and all reasonably priced. And just a 5 minute short drive from the beach.
Review 113:The owners were very welcoming and happy to help with recommendations of places to visit and local restaurants. The decor in the guesthouse was lovely and modern with vintage inspiration. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice.
