Reviews for Hôtel Les Balcons Village
Review 1:However there was no lounge to sit in if the weather was too bad for skiing. Breakfast advertised until 10am but by 9.30 the hot food was looking very tired.
Review 2:Friendly staff. The rooms were really comfortable and it was nice to have a jacuzzi bath. We were given our own lockable cupboard for skis. Food in the restaurant was delicious. Ski in ski out worked well. Ski hire bang next door to hotel.
Review 3:- Swimming pool for the whole residence. Not hotel only. More like a public bath - Separate sauna for the hotel but no relaxation area. - Bandwith of wlan too slow - Don't get me wrong: The hotel is ok, but 90€ per person is just not worth it. We have seen better places for less money.
Review 4:Direct access to the pists
Review 5:Very inconvinient, tiny, badly organized garage costs 10 EUR per night. The swimming pool is too small, chlor-smelly and overcrouded, better not to attend at all. The saunas are too tiny. Badly organized place to change shoes in the skiing room. Too strong smell in the whole house of air fragnance. WiFiis very weak, serves only one device per room and often not functioning at all.
Review 6:Perfect location on the slope ski-in, ski-out. Very nice restaurant and food. Very friendly and helpful stuff. Wonderful jacuzzi bath-tube in the room. Nice balcony with the view.
Review 7:Breakfast choice was ok. Adequate.
Review 8:Nothing too much trouble for staff who were all friendly and helpful. Menu changes for dinner were never a problem and general assistance from reception was excellent. Would certainly recommend the hotel, and will return - in fact we are planning to go to another Les Balcons hotel in VT too.
Review 9:bit too high prices during the season
Review 10:Good location, good WiFi connection, easy access to swiming pool and sauna, additional place to leave your luggage during the day of departure once room is vacated, perfect location next to ski slope
Review 11:The eggs were sometimes under cooked and/or a bit cold at breakfast.
Review 12:The view from out room was nothing short of spectacular. The hotel was very quiet at night so allowing for a good night sleep. Chef was very accommodating if you don't like the set menu.
Review 13:Wi-fi not great, connection issues with iPhone/iPad.
Review 14:Couldn't fault it - amazing location, friendly staff, great food (we payed for half board, well worth the extra!) and a spectacular view of the mountain!
Review 15:Expensive for the quality At far end of Belle Plagne - fair bit of a walk from the village center in ski boots Turned off wifi before checkout - who does that? just a crappy thing to do. Impossibly tight parking garage entrance and exit with intercom that didn't work Skip the restaurant - there are better choices not far away
Review 16:Good location - can ski right out the front door Ski room available with good heat and air flow Acceptable breakfast Friendly, helpful staff Lots of heat and hot water
Review 17:Swimming pool in another building and very busy at times. Suggest not going at 5pm but fab mid day
Review 18:The balcony and view were wonderful. Breakfasts very good Parking excellent
Review 19:Half board menu very limited, 4-5 dishes plus 3-4 dish with a supplement. Bar was poor.
Review 20:Location was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful
Review 21:Excellent location (ski in/ski out), staff and food. Loved the sauna too
Review 22:Food was too rich and menu limited as not changed daily. However presentation and service was excellent.
Review 23:Location, comfort, staff.
Review 24:Very narrow parking entrance, single big sheet on the bed and no way to change it to two standard single ones
Review 25:Location, cleanliness
Review 26:Intermittent wifi, no English to channels
Review 27:Lovely rustic hotel, friendly staff, spacious room
Review 28:Wifi can only be used by one person in the room. The corridors and bedroom were quite dark and need a renovation
Review 29:Great location on the piste
Review 30:The wifi and the TV (only French channels)
Review 31:The location, the room, the food
Review 32:easy booking, friendly staff, comfortable stay
Review 33:The staff, food and location and cleaning of the room
Review 34:Weak coffee for breakfast
Review 35:Friendly staff, sunshine into the room in the afternoon, varied food for breakfast, flexible evening menu, convenient parking.
Review 36:Just a small detail where you had to pay for your drinks in the restaurant each evening & not at the end of your stay.
Review 37:It was a ski in & ski out hotel with facilities for your ski gear close to hand. The hotel also had a garage to park your car.
Review 38:The room was very dark and with poor lighting; our room opened onto a run which was lovely, but if you needed the curtain open to see anything it meant everyone could see in. The cleaning staff were lackadaisical; leaving rubbish next to the bin and left our room unlocked one day. The ski storage says its heated but our boots were still damp most mornings. The elevator from the boot room to the piste is SLOW!
Review 39:The staff, except one blonde lady at reception. The women who welcomed us was exceptional. Everyone else was helpful and friendly. The location was terrific.
Review 40:Service in the restaurant was reminiscent of Fawlty Towers. Think of thefilm "A good year": "remember - in France the customer isalways wrong"
Review 41:The corridors between rooms were very dark and some light switches /bulbs didn't seem to be working. There were no pictures in thebedrooms which made the rooms a bit stark. The pool and changing area inparticular was very small and overcrowded enough to put me off using thefacilities when they had been one of the reasons I had booked thsparticular hotel.
Review 42:The ski in / out location was fabulous. We had a choice of 3 runs tocome home on and were out and waiting for lifts to open in the morning. The beds were very comfortable and for me having a tea making facilitiesin the bedroom was unexpected for France and much appreciated. Themassage I had in the spa was also very good.
Review 43:Booking.com advised reservation for the hotel carpark was not necessary.Wrong! It was needed- so ended up another cp further away. (Nothotel's fault) Piscine in adjoining building - too small and toobusy - so not worth the trek.
Review 44:Friendly hotel, very convenient for skiing. A bit quirky - but goodvalue for money.
Review 45:The main problem we had with Les Balcons was the restaurant staff whowere not very helpful or at all friendly. In the mornings when we camedown for breakfast there were always things missing, eg plates, eggs, etc. Our French is pretty limited so this would have contributed to theproblem as they did not speak good English like the two girls onreception. Evening service was slow. All in all I would recommend this hotel for good value and location for the nicest part of La Plagne which is Belle Plagne.
Review 46:This hotel is in a great location for skiing in and out. It is warm andfriendly especially the reception girls - Carema and Aurely - who wereexceptionally helpful in locating my lost iPhone which I threw down theglacier!! Carema contacted all the tourist offices, police and texted amessage in French for the finder who then handed it over to a mountainworker who delivered it back to the hotel. I was delighted. The room was nice and cosy with small balcony and nice view of the mountains. The ensuite bathroom was good.
Review 47:We checked in late at night but the receptionist was very clear and thorough in providing all the information we needed to ensure we were able to begin our ski weekend first thing the next morning. The door to door skiing was the best we have experienced. Breakfast selection was excellent. The pool and sauna area was very clean and a nice way to end a days skiing.
Review 48:Breakfast area very untidy and tables not cleared. Not enough staff on, and not helpfull. Food not replenished enough when very busy.
Review 49:Great location. Very clean apartment rooms. Accommodation as advertised. Reception staff very helpful and accommodating.
Review 50:The only negative thing was our room smelt strongly of cigarette smokewhen we arrived, which was odd as it is meant to be a non- smoking room.
Review 51:Great view, lovely bathroom, good food and friemdly staff.
Review 52:- Hotel bedroom very small for two normal sized people - Resort fairly compact with little variety - centreparcs with snow! - Biggest issue for us was entry-exit to the car park. Daft design angles meant that we had a choice between damaging either the drivers side door or the passenger side headlight on our family sized estate car. Took 15 minutes to negotiate round and get away with two large scratches. Would advise car drivers not to bring anything bigger than a Focus! - Amusing environmental policy - don't use towels but heat pumping out so much they needed to leave windows open
Review 53:- Genuine ski in ski out on to slopes was key asset - Comfortable hotel with good bathroom in rooms (essential for skiers) and nice lounge - Plenty of breakfast - Good ski storage - secure and well organised. Ski shop in same complex was friendly and efficient - Kettle, coffee and fridge welcome - Pool and fitness room pleasant with good light in afternoon
Review 54:Helpful reception staff. Rooms were cleaned immaculately every day. Good ski in ski out location
Review 55:Going home.
Review 56:Great location, very flexible with our travel plans, great facilities and food was good too ;-)
Review 57:Friendly staff, excellent location for skiing. Had a great time
Review 58:Low lighting levels in rooms & corridors
Review 59:Attentive and courteous staff Good food Room Temperature
Review 60:the snow and cold outside
Review 61:the staff where very agreeable, friendly and helpfull and the food was exellant
Review 62:Excellent food on the half-board arrangement. Very nice hotel, would definitely return.
Review 63:Very friendly and helpful staff. Very good value for money. Room had allthat you needed. Great location. Brilliant!
