Reviews for Hôtel Le Lascaux
Review 1:This was more of a cozy B n B than a hotel. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating. Dinner was very well done and the breakfasts were plentiful.
Review 2:Very comfortable and relaxed. Were able to walk into Montignac for dinner each night. The bed was so comfortable. The decor in the room very French. Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay!!
Review 3:Nothing
Review 4:Very friendly owners, great location, great food in restaurant. Ended up eating in restaurant both nights as menu was as interesting and well priced as anywhere.
Review 5:The owner was wonderful and helpful. The breakfast spread was amazing, so much variety and the owner ready to fix any special request that you might have.
Review 6:pretty room with comfortable bed and Lovely region of France will return to explore, everything you could need for a good hotel experience. Excellent dinner and breakfast, loved it.
Review 7:artificial scent card in the room-
Review 8:breakfast was very tasty- farm eggs, good selection of all items, home made jams, good coffee very homey atmosphere; gave me a cold large bottle of water on my departure for my travels
Review 9:Great welcome, extremely helpful and offered information on restaurants, timings and facilities in town. Rooms good size, clean and beds comfortable with excellent bathroom. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices on offer.
Review 10:The hotel had air conditioning and our room was well-equipped and comfortable. The recently modernised bathroom had a great shower. The staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Review 11:Take in a bottle of your own water - the tap water is very salty!
Review 12:A convenient place to stay for seeing more of this delightful part of France. We went for the cave art - fabulous. Hotel charming and hosts very kind
Review 13:N/A
Review 14:The way the staff went out of their way to be helpful booking tickets and taxis for our visit to Lascaux 2 for one Example and breakfast was excellent. The hotel did evening meals which looked very good but we ate in the village while exploring a very pretty and historical small town
Review 15:Road traffic noise was a little intrusive in the early morning, double glazing would have helped.
Review 16:The rooms were well appointed, food excellent especially dinner and good value. The owner and his wife were very friendly and helpful, and with a charm all its own.
Review 17:owner is a fantastic chef & his wife is an excellent interior designer as the rooms are beautifully furnished. The breakfast was a great buffet catering for all nationalities. We loved it!
Review 18:The reception was poor and we were not offered the opportunity of breakfast or dinner, both of which is advertised. We don't understand why!
Review 19:The room was reasonable and clean.
Review 20:The renovation was very poorly done. The wooden veneer floor covering wasn't properly installed, so it has buckled in places, and despite the attempt at insulation, noise carried from corridor to room very easily. And the toilet bowl was quite rickety.
Review 21:Convenient to the Lascaux II cave. Had English TV (BBC and a US one) Nice peaceful backyard with hens and rabbits. Good breakfast variety. The staff were always pleasant (although they couldn't always be easily found!). Nice chicken theme running through the décor - adds interest to the stay!
Review 22:The proprietor, Jean and his wife, Lawrence, were both so helpful, charming, and pleasant. The room was spacious with a great shower (rain, regular and sides.) The decor was lovely. They were eager to please and helped us with reservations for the cave. The breakfast was very good with a tremendous selection. We also had dinner there one night and it was delicious especially the appetizers.
Review 23:The fact that the cave receptionist charged us when we got there but when we got our final bill from hotel there was a charge on there also. Not the owners fault but a little miscommunication between the owner and the cave.
Review 24:Location. Free parking. The owner ordered our tickets for the cave from the hitel
Review 25:that we only stayed one night! :)
Review 26:awesome bed! big and comfortable, crispy clean sheets. Nice natural light, great space, great shower. Everything looks cute and attentive to details. The staff was also very welcoming and nice. Private parking. walking distance from the city.
Review 27:Everything was great! The only suggestion I would make would be to have a light out in the parking area, as it was dark and hard to see when I went to my car.
Review 28:The staff were amazing. They treated me like a personal guest in their home. They were very helpful and accommodating. I had dinner in their restaurant the first night and was very happy with the meal. I found it to be delicious! They also had a very nice selection of food in their breakfast buffet and made eggs to order. They served coffee in a small pot left on my table, which I loved! This small, homey hotel had everything - a safe in the room, room service if you wanted it, a great bathroom, flat screen TV and Wifi. Love it! Would definitely go back.
Review 29:The wifi signal was very weak on the third floor. It would have been nice if a little more English had been spoken by the staff. I would have liked a shower rather than a bathtub; this wasn't apparent from the website description.
Review 30:The staff was very friendly; the room comfortable; there was an electric kettle in the room, and tea; linens were nice; the view out the window was pleasant. The breakfast was excellent with many choices of cold and some warm foods. Good coffee at breakfast.
Review 31:Owners helpful and welcoming. Room spacious and stylish. Nice attention to detail. Good parking. Five minute walk to the town. Dining room full of quirky details. Breakfast great.
Review 32:The staff was remarkable. We gave them lots of problems, and they were always more than agreeable. They took care of everything with a smile. When we had to leave early, they were eager and insistent on starting breakfast a quarter or an hour earlier than scheduled. The room was quiet. The beds were comfortable; the wifi worked. The bathroom was very modern with the shower quite good. Speight Jenkins, Seattle WA
Review 33:Very well equipped rooms, great shower, aircon was useful. Off-street parking and a good restaurant if you don't want to go out. Breakfast also v good. Also liked free bottle of water on departure from M le Patron.
Review 34:Owner and his wife offer an excellent service. Rooms are very clean and comfortable and the food is really good. Convenient location for Lascaux and they even supply tickets for the caves. A fabulous experience all round.
Review 35:Steep stairs, bathroom good but bedroom poor and no night curtains. Staff tried to help but would prefer a better dress code.breakfast nearly good. Overall would not stay there again or recommend to others
Review 36:The room was comfortable and attractive and charmingly renovated with a lovely queen sized bed.The bathroom was spacious and modern. The breakfasts were very good, providing a selection of delicious local produce. The hotel is in a great position for exploring the region situated in an attractive old town and avoiding the crowded Dordogne valley. We'd be happy to stay there again.
Review 37:Not much we didn't like, though the dining room was maybe a bit spartan - but nothing to put you off. Perhaps a few more coat hangers and a bit more hanging space in the bedroom would not have gone amiss, but again this did not really detract from our stay.
Review 38:The owners were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout. Our room (superior) was spacious and well-equipped; a wide range of channels on the TV,including English language ones, well-stocked mini-bar at sensible prices, free Wi-fi and even tea-making facilities. Food was lovely - cooked fresh and delicious in the evening, good choice of food for the breakfast buffet, continually topped up throughout the breakfast period.
Review 39:We loved Montignac and this hotel was convenient and comfortable. We didn't spend much time in our room as we were out exploring and only had one night but can't fault our stay. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. All very nice indeed
Review 40:Food was fantastic, staff were great and the whole family enjoyed the stay at this hotel. Excellent attention to detail in our room, modern design. The children had an area to play which was in the restaurant, keeping them busy while we had a fantastic meal. The staff were excellent at this family run hotel.
Review 41:Very friendly and helpful owners Very comfortable room Wonderful local specialities Very clean Excellent breakfast Availability of tickets for Lascaux II were a real bonus - which should be advertised more openly
Review 42:On the main road, which unfortunately was loud quite early. A back room would have been better.
Review 43:Excellent & friendly staff. A relaxing place to be, just out of the centre of the busy town.
Review 44:Broken plug in bathroom Wobbly toilet seat
Review 45:The friendly helpful owners. The attractive homely decor. Easy location. Excellent cleanliness. Plentiful breakfast with good choice. Free parking
Review 46:wifi in the room (last floor) was weak.
Review 47:we like a lot the garden, the traditional toys for kids and adults, the decoration, the excellent breakfast and specially the sympathy of the owners.
Review 48:Minor point but as usual in France they wanted to charge about €10 each for a very simple breakfast so we walked into town and bought ours for half the price.
Review 49:A clean and very serviceable hotel ideal for our short stay en route south. It's a perfect distance from Calais for a one day drive. The staff were helpful and very pleasant and the location is good. It is within 5 minutes walk of the town centre where there are lots of eateries and shops. We would definitely recommend it to others. We had a family room which had a sofa bed to compliment the main double bed. The bathroom was newly fitted and modern.
Review 50:Breakfast was a little expensive. More fruit and cereal choices to be on offer. Shower door did not close properly
Review 51:Rabbits and chickens in back yard. Toiletries and shower. Very comfy bed.
Review 52:Parking in Montignac was always challenging (July 2014) and sometimes impossible.
Review 53:A quiet, family-run hotel close to the centre of Montignac with very helpful staff, good quality accommodation and close to many interesting historic sites.

It is really close to Lascaux II, an also is near the Font du Gaume and LA-ROQUE-SAINT-CHRISTOPHE . The breackfast is good option with cheese, bread, parma ham and others. The room was very good and big, all the confort we needed. The ammenities were perfect. Excelent bed. Tea and coffe facilities.
Review 58:The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, offering a real welcome. The room was very comfortable, quiet and well-equipped. Breakfast was excellent. I'd certainly recommend this hotel to others.
Review 59:Excellent management - Laurence is the perfect host. He obtained our tickets for the Lascaux caves and arranged an appointment for my wife at the hairdressers in Montignac !!!
