Reviews for Résidence Les Balcons de Belle Plagne
Review 1:Old, unclear apartment, uncomfortable beds with old matraces. Extremely high deposit for the apartment. The resort looks to be for the French only, nobody speaks English, service is unfriendly to the foreigners.
Review 2:Location, direct access to the slopes
Review 3:Location-given a room with beautiful mountain view; friendly staff at reception & restaurant. Great base for summer hiking. Good facilities nearby
Review 4:We received an upgrade on arrival to a 3 bedroom apartment with a view over the piste. Great apartment:2 bathrooms; large living room. Kitchen is a bit small, but adequate. Very good size swimming pool.
Review 5:Jacuzzi which was a feature of the room did not work for entire holiday and could not be fixed. Although complex was not full no alternate apartment was offered. Black mould continually coming out of pumping system of jacuzzi.
Review 6:Location was great with ski in and out. Access to spa as well!
Review 7:For the money they charge they could at least have made our beds. The fridge was old and malfunctioning and the light bulbs were not bright enough. The bathroom was very small, no hooks or racks to dry our clothes after skiing.
Review 8:We had to fetch our own linen and make our beds. There was no tea towels, dish washing liquid and cloths. Important to note there is no Laundry, to wash clothes is a long walk to the Laundrette.
Review 9:Location and size of the apartment were great. The pool, spa and gym were a nice bonus also. The restaurant was excellent.
Review 10:THE light in the kitchen was poor. The apart was in need of renovation. The lightsballs! Bad use of the space in the room. Poor storage possibilities Very small swimming pool, sauna. Although staf was friendly it was understaffed and gave me an odd feeling, bizar. All in all it was expensive for what it was.eg. I paid 50€ for cleaning but i really wondered if that was done after i left.
Review 11:We were in chalet 3 , 3rd Floor which gave good access to the slopes
Review 12:Only one lift was working when we were there which meant a lot of waiting to use it. The entrance to the underground car park was a bit tight. The pillows were lumpy.
Review 13:The apartment had a well equipped kitchen and the spa bath was a bonus.
Review 14:Wellness centre is small and overcrowded hence no 'wellness' was achieved! Overcrowded at the end of season suggests awful in the main season. Gym limited equipment (no running machine). Pool small but clean. Staff helpful. Only ski grumble is that for ski lessons you have to ski down to Bellecote and catch cable car back up to Belle Plagne meeting points - else walk into village 400-500m (and slope down was usually icy hence difficult for beginners). Not an issue for the more able. No cleaning products provided - real pain as who wants to buy dishwasher tablets/powder/salt to only use a few days worth. Hence all crockery/glasses had dishwasher 'debris' heat soaked on so had to clean everything several times by hand to remove the dirt. Not a big cost to provide a little salt and 7 tablets and remove the issue entirely. Just annoyances really making it a 7/10 rather than 9/10.
Review 15:Chose bigger apartment so had plenty of space. Jacuzzi baths. Ski in/out even late in season. Great staff. Replaced broken toaster same day - great service. Relaxed but hotel/resort was quiet so maybe false impression. Ample ski-locker space. Kitchenette equipped with oven, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster plus good selection of pots/pans/utensils so could cook easily for family.
Review 16:Beds weren't very comfy - take your own pillows! Swimming pool/spa was too crowded in the afternoon, but it was Easter holidays.
Review 17:Ski-in ski-out location. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, spacious, well-equipped apartment.
Review 18:Customer service wasn't great, lots of extras and admin. For example we hired the apartment with 'bed linen included'. When we arrived we were told we would have to go and fetch the bed linen ourselves from another part of the building and then make up the beds ourselves. We were prepared to pay extra not to have to do this (having come off a long journey) but were told this was not allowed because they did not have sufficient notice. We were also requested to clean the apartment or pay a ~EUR80 charge to do this. Again don't mind paying for cleaning and we opted to pay them to do it as we didn't want to spend our last day hoovering. Even with the extra cleaning charge paid, we were instructed that we had to strip down the beds, fold all the (used) sheets, empty the dishwasher (of clean dishes). I felt this was pretty mediocre customer service to demand your guest to do this. And pointless (folding sheets you are going to wash)Enormous inventory checklist despite there being nothing in the apartment of particularly material value (fair enough if you have broken the TV but do they really need to agonise over whether the odd 1Euro value mug gets damaged when you are paying 2000Euro for the week?).We didn't have any issue in the end with any breakages etc but it was another nuisance that seemed over the top.We also requested a baby cot months in advance, when we arrived we had to fetch this ourselves from the other side of building, work out how to set it up, and bring it back. No major issue, but hardly great customer services. Most places would have set this up for you with the notice. No bedding provided for the cot.The towels etc they gave us the minimum (one very old but clean towel each) and no option of getting fresh ones during the week. Which was a bit annoying with a young baby.Have experienced much better service in other places across France and Switzerland, including some others in Belle Plagnes.
Review 19:Great location, ski-in, ski-out. Decent apartment, good views.
Review 20:No toiletries or cleaning pack and felt the inventory check list and check out check a little bit over the top!
Review 21:Excellent position in the village . kitchen small but had everything you needed. Staff good with excellent English
Review 22:The mattresses could have been more comfortable. It could get a little noisy from the coaches, delivery trucks etc in the morning. We couldn't use the jacuzzi, sauna etc as too small for the amount of people in the hotel and residence combined.Thank goodness for the jacuzzi bath in the apartments!
Review 23:Fantastic location right on the slopes. Very well equipped kitchen. Loved the jacuzzi bath after a day's skiing. Beautiful views of the mountains from the balcony. Lots of radiatots so we could dry the ski gear. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 24:Lift not working so bags carried up 4 floors; supposedly fixed the day prior to departure and it broke again. Rooms tired and I expect more for a "4 star" apartment. Not worth €2,600 for the half-term week.
Review 25:Views from the room and access to the slopes. Location in Belle Plagne.
Review 26:Kitchen space was a bit cramped. Bedrooms at the front were slightly noisey early mornings (delivery trucks etc). Hot water was sporadic between 4-7pm (after skiing).
Review 27:Fabulous ski-in ski-out location. Easy access to village and shops. Spacious apartment and well a well equiped kitchen. Jacuzzi baths were a bonus!
Review 28:It's hard to figure out what qualifies as a four star residence in France. This is advertised as a four staff but is a four start: (a) a hotel where you have to pay extra to have you beds made when you arrive, (b) a hotel that, when you pay for a change of bedding mid-way through your week, doesn't actually change your bed, (c) a hotel that, when you pay to have your beds made when you arrive, doesn't even have the bedding in the apartment when you are told its "ready" and doesn't actually get around to making the beds until reminded three times?!
Review 29:1. Great location -- true ski in / ski out (unless you need to get to the ski school drop off points in Belle Plagne in the morning. 2. Staff tried their hardest despite limitations (e.g., there wasn't enough staff at key times).
Review 30:The place was fantastic plenty to do and would really safe as a family in this location. The staff were very nice and helpful. I could not fault les balcons in any way. We had a brillant summer holiday there !!
Review 31:General piste access to Belle Plange not quite a good as Bellecote soskiing home usually requires run down to Bellecot and back up Arpettechair (though this is quick and doesn't shut early) or you canalways get the bubble and walk home. If your kids arn't skiing orare absolute begginners then Bellecote probably better as the nursaryslopes are there and the blue run down to Bellecot is not really forbeginners. We took out 2 year old down in the bubble most days which isa bit of a walk across towm.
Review 32:Genuine ski in / ski out as door from boot rooom goes straight outonto blue down to Bellecote. Les Balcons is one of the better loctionsin Belle Plange acces wise as is at the top of the road and has it'sown underground carpark (70e a week) where as all accomodation higherthan this seems to require parking in public carpark (8e a day) and abit of a walk.
Review 33:Very nicely located in Belle-Plagne. In the middle of the mountains. Wegot a great appartment for a great price (summer time). Verycomfortable, well equipped with nice staff. To mention: The resort seemsto try to develop summer activities, which means there is plenty ofthings to do (downhill biking, hiking, swimming, many mountainactivities cannyoning) most of the time for very small amount of money. There seems to be also a lot being done for young and older children. SoI would say this is great!
Review 34:Hard to find using a navigator that insisted on sending us on a goat trail up the wrong mountain...
Review 35:Excellent service even after arriving very late (11pm) after getting lost - still provided with food and keys to our room. Lovely mountain resort - at a very high remote location (not exactly as expected). Views of Mont Blanc nearby.
Review 36:Rude and disinterested staff. Very uncomfortable beds, dreadful oldpillows, no toiletries and we had to make our own beds and the room wasinspected before we left - we were made to feel like naughty childrenwho didn't know how to behave !!
Review 37:Beds unmade and no towels when we arrived. For what it was the price didn't reflect the standard. Certainly wouldn't stay there again.
Review 38:The lift was broken , fixed for one day , then broke again.
Review 39:Quick to fix a bulb and a stiff lock. Friendly. Good location.
Review 40:No WiFi in the room.
Review 41:Sauna and Jacuzzi too busy Rooms were too small
Review 42:The location
Review 43:inability Wi Fi connection in rooms
Review 44:easy access to the ski slopes
Review 45:Being in the mountains. Great views from our apartment. Plenty of space.
Review 46:beds and bed linen very poor quality
Review 47:great location
