Reviews for Tilted Wig

Review 1:Lovely place.......friendly helpful staff, in a relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast excellent. Rooms modern, clean and comfortable, well worth the money.

Review 2:The parking was difficult to find, luckily the staff take a ride in the car and led us there. Pub was directly downstairs but quite down at 11pm

Review 3:Excellent shower, instant hot and adequate water pressure. Staff was helpful, close to the town square

Review 4:The noise from the landing and other rooms was quite disturbing especially first thing in the mornings.

Review 5:The breakfast was of good quality and a nice selection. The rooms are decorated in a modern fashion and look out on to the Warwick market square.

Review 6:We were not told about the closed market place on Thurs 26/11 ,which was basic as we needed to park nearby. But they did help us carry all our luggage up from the racecourse car park.

Review 7:staff helpful and cheerful. Bar was a great place for breakfast. 2 log fires, lots of atmosphere and good solid furniture and a nice view of the market place

Review 8:Nothing not to like - the experience was all good.

Review 9:Overall the quality of food, drink & accommodation was the same as last year but the experience was much improved due to the new staff members - especially at breakfast on Sunday morning. No problems this time.

Review 10:Thin walls so can hear neighbouring rooms and floorboards could do with a few more screws. Not a gripe as I appreciate the age of the building and wasn't a problem.

Review 11:Was staying in Warwick as booked on a 3 day training course locally. Very friendly staff, excellent location and cracking breakfast! Parking was fine behind the pub. Really enjoyed my stay at The Tilted Wig and would stay again!

Review 12:When we arrived about 17:00 the room was very cold. We asked the staff to turn on the radiator (we couldn't). The radiator turned on (remote controlled) and we left to eat. Less than two hours later we came back... to a cold room with a rold radiator. Once again we asked the staff to turn it on. It was turned on, but due to the old windows, the room was still cold (about 13-15 celcius). The next morning both the radiator and the room was cold and when trying to take a shower... it was (remotely) turned off! We complained and then the shower was turned on, but the radiator remained cold... like the room.

Review 13:Close to Warwich Castle

Review 14:When we first arrived after asking our name they immediately ask us to pay for our stay which we didn't mind but thought it unusual. We went out for a meal and a drink when we returned to our room we then realised why they asked for our money up front. There was a live band directly below us, but when they started playing it sounded as though they were in the room with us, this went on until midnight and then we had people outside talking loudly until 1pm, so needless to say we didn't have a very good night sleep. We were disappointed we weren't told about all this when we booked the room.

Review 15:The location was spot on. It was very clean. Staff were very nice.

Review 16:The only thing was that the fair was visiting at the time of our visit outside the hotel and we were not informed in advance so it took us a while to find the hotel and park up.The fair was quite noisy as well.

Review 17:The food was incredibly good value, the staff very helpful and friendly and the room very pleasant. A very enjoyable stay.

Review 18:Convenient location good food excellent staff Room clean and tidy with view over Market square only small problem was the noisy floorboards upstairs

Review 19:very small car park [although staff did help us out by moving round staff car to get us in Thin walls was able to hear snoring next door and we also new when they were using shower etc

Review 20:Excellent food good value we had superb Sunday lunch and breakfast was very good. staff pleasant and friendly

Review 21:Bar and restaurant was booked out to a private function so couldn't eat there and struggled to get a drink. Television was tiny. The fire alarm going off at 3am didn't help nor did the obvious "excitement" of the couple next door earlier in the evening - walls were far too thin! Not really the hotel's fault but getting a taxi in the morning was challenging.

Review 22:Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good

Review 23:Single beds too narrow when used to king size bed.

Review 24:Very well situated. Friendly and helpfully staff. Food was really good too, especially eggs royals for breakfast. Delicious.

Review 25:The room was a bit in the small side but adequate for 1 night. No hair dryer!!

Review 26:This was in an excellent position in the town centre and just a short walk to the castle.Although modernised it still retained much of it's original character. The staff were very friendly and the food excellent.

Review 27:Nothing ! Will definitely book again !

Review 28:Friendly ,obliging staff, super location with parking ,inglenook fireplace and additional log fire, great atmosphere, spotless.good facilities in rooms, yummy breakfasts!

Review 29:Not one bad thing to say!

Review 30:Everything was absolutely perfect ! My partner and I had just got engaged and the staff did everything in their power to ensure we had a night to remember . The staff were friendly , professional and welcoming. The food was faultless and the service was impeccable . The rooms were fresh , clean , modern and well presented and bed was extremely comfy ! Breakfast was the best we have ever had . Will defiantly be staying again! Thank you so much to all the staff who the owner should be very very proud of :)

Review 31:Fairground right outside the window ruined the weekend as the noise was relentless. When that finished they then started to dismantle followed by road sweepers etc ALL night. Paper thin walls so you could hear light switches and toilet use! No plug chains and either scorching hot shower or freezing cold. Intermittent wifi too.

Review 32:Convenient location had it not been that access was closed for the fair on that weekend.

Review 33:being woken up early by unthoughtful staff pressure washing the pavement outside our window!

Review 34:Convenient location, quiet and central to the town centre, Nice bar/eating area

Review 35:Shame it was the mop fair the weekend we visited so we had a waltzer outside our window! I think it would be lovely normally as you would look out on the market square.

Review 36:A great location and good value for money.

Review 37:Finding carpark, sink chain missing to plughole.

Review 38:Good location, Tilted Wig is a good hotel. Staff very polite and helpful, breakfast was good. This is a great place to stay, the area is quant.

Review 39:Squeaky floors upstairs disturbed my nights sleep. Early morning road sweeper right under my windows. ..although it was time for to get UP!

Review 40:Lovely room. Clean and comfortable. Nice view over square. Food in bar fab! Staff friendly and welcoming.

Review 41:The noises in the square first thing as the metal tables and chairs were straightened

Review 42:Conveniently central and staff very friendly and committed to a high level of cleanliness and helpfulness

Review 43:asked To turn on the heater but the guy said it was automatic can't be changed. Asked for an extra duvet but the lady said they don’t have extra.

Review 44:Location

Review 45:A blind or net at the window would have been good so you didn't need to close the curtains whilst getting dressed etc! Fan in bathroom was missing...just a hole in the ceiling.

Review 46:Excellent location, friendly & efficient staff, spotlessly clean, free parking, excellent breakfast

Review 47:Trying to find the car park but luckily there was a very nice gentleman who got in our car and showed us round the one way system

Review 48:Everything about the hotel is quality

Review 49:No hairdryer lol

Review 50:Great location on market square..lovely staff.. rooms not big however well equipped and clean..the bed was the comfiest i have ever slept in..thank you for a lovely break

Review 51:The car park is very small.

Review 52:Location was excellent - right in the middle of the Market Square in the centre of Warwick. Breakfast was very good value, tasty and generous.

Review 53:Just don't think they should take all the money as soon as you arrive.

Review 54:The position, the food - breakfast and evening meal both good, friendly and helpful staff.

Review 55:Wi fi was rubbish. Booked twin room, arrived to a double and had to wait 4 hours for someone to come and change this!

Review 56:Great location on the square. Nice food. Really good breakfast.

Review 57:Too noisy in the morning, banging and hoovering. People speaking very loudly too. Could have done with larger towels, quite small. Need better wifi, not the cloud

Review 58:Bed was comfy, powerful shower and very good breakfast.

Review 59:great location, staff friendly & helpful, Rooms decorated to a high standard, bathroom exeptionaly clean all rounder a great place to stay well recommended.

Review 60:only slight negative , is also a positive, in that the accommodations rooms face onto a market square and could be quite noisy at weekends. Thankfully we stayed on a Sunday and once the bars shut it was very quiet.

Review 61:Brilliant location, very central. Room was exceptionally clean. The main plus for the accommodation was the staff who without exception were friendly, extremely polite and helpful.

Review 62:None, everything was good.

Review 63:The room was always made up very tidy and the people of the Tilted Wig were very friendly. We are certainly coming back ! We stayed six nights at the Tilted Wig and it was great.

Review 64:Car park area needs places marking and tracking of cars parked. I was blocked in unnecessarily and had to wait 15 mins when I wanted to leave. Need toaster tongs and hairdryer.

Review 65:Staff very obliging and helpful.

Review 66:The location was great in the market square where all the nightlife seemed to be. The room was comfortable, lovely clean bathroom and we had breakfast which was excellent. the staff were happy and helpful.

Review 67:The bed was very creaky hard and creaky. emergency light on all night, illuminated the whole room, needs to be above door, not middle of room. although when staff told, the next day this was turned off. so problem was solved with many thanks. Bit noisy but this cant be helped, nature of the position of building.

Review 68:We found the staff very friendly. The place was very clean. Location great. Everything we ask for was carried out very quickly.

Review 69:We both think that Tilted Wig was expellant . Staff were polite pleasant and nothing was to much trouble and very well organised. We would recommend Tilted Wig if they are in that part of the world

Review 70:Couple of bulbs out in the room, wifi relies on logging onto The Cloud which means having to give your details and therefore accepting spam

Review 71:Excellent location, comfortable (though small) room, very pleasant staff, thoroughly superb breakfast

Review 72:Free parking is available but can't be reserved. There are four spaces for four rooms, seems ok but not if you are competing with staff and the owner for a space. Not satisfactory. The room is very small with little room to accommodate any seating. Sitting on the bed is really the only option even thought there is one chair in the room.

Review 73:Location is excellent right in the centre of the market town. Restaurant food is excellent value and lovely. Lovely decor.

Review 74:Great food, had an evening meal there as well and couldn't fault it. Friendly staff and a nice Pub. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Good location for Warwick Castle.

Review 75:The staff were wonderful. I was travelling on my own and stayed for 10 days. They made me feel very at home! As a woman, it can sometimes feel awkward dining on your own. They all treated me like one of the family, so to speak. Can' t say enough good about them.

Review 76:No towel rail in the bathroom. Minor but slightly awkward as to where to place when showering.

Review 77:Friendly staff and cosy setting. Breakfast was lovely with generous portion sizes.

Review 78:Parking issues at times but the staff were always keen to help with this.

Review 79:Excellent on all fronts - the staff were lovely, the room was very clean and very comfortable and it was a lovely pub to have a few drinks in as well as a fantastic breakfast. It was right in the centre of town but also a 20 min drive to Stratford-Upon-Avon if you wanted to go shopping there, go to the RSC or the Butterfly Farm.

Review 80:The downside to been in the centre of town is it quite noisy, because rooms above the pub and people sit outside during the summer it is quite late before it goes quiet.

Review 81:The food is excellent, staff helpful and location excellent for castle, town etc.

Review 82:Car park tiny and hard to find, although plenty of pay n display parking in the area. Pub was noisy at night and market stalls were setting up at 6.30 on Saturday morning, so if a light sleeper could be a problem, though non of this bothered us. No hairdryer in room, but one available if you ask.

Review 83:Location was great, modern decor, clean and tidy. Good food.

Review 84:I knew it was above a pub but didn't realise how much the noise would travel through the walls and the floor from the music and people in the square and in the pub. The room was very warm so shutting the window wasn't an option so we had to put up with the noise. It would have been nice to have a welcome pack in the room - what is in Warwick. I wouldn't recommend this B and B to families with young children due to the noise til late.

Review 85:Ideal location to explore Warwick - on the doorstep of the market square. Breakfast was lovely and fresh. Off street parking was available, if a little small, but all who were staying there had a space.

Review 86:Emergency lighting in the room was so bright, needs altering as was like having a lamp on! Fan or portable A/C unit for the few hot night in summer would be good

Review 87:Great location within very friendly pub/bistro. Food was excellent, staff very helpful and polite.

Review 88:Could have been directed as to the breakfast - help yourself cereals etc. There was a lot of noise early morning because of the outside activities taking place this weekend.

Review 89:Convenient position in the town. Good food and very friendly staff. lots of activity outside - proved to be interesting this visit.

Review 90:The room was lovely, but very warm and bright over night (there was a green light on the ceiling, some kind of alarm, understandable but made the room very light; we opened the window wide as the room was very stuffy, but being on the market square it was quite noisy.) The pub was understaffed and very busy, on the whole everyone was polite and friendly but one or two were a little aloof and curt, understandable to a point as the under staffing was not their fault I am sure, however, those who remained friendly and professional stood out a mile.

Review 91:The location was fantastic and the food superb (excellent value for money.) It was brilliant to be able to sit outside on the square, and the garden at the back was great too.The whole place is beautifully decorated, it's contemporary but cosy.

Review 92:There are only 5 parking spaces and 3 of those were taken by staff there is a car park opposite but quite expensive if staying overnight. The room was quite small but very clean and all 4 rooms overlook the square which can be a little noisy iFriday and Saturday also market day on Saturday so have stall holders arriving from 6am.

Review 93:We went to warwick for wedding at the castle, so wanted to stay nearby to the castle so we could walk there and back and this was just perfect. In the centre of Warwick right in the centre in the square.Good shower and breakfast good.

Review 94:Not great parking space, only a few spaces and often full or another car blocking the way. Great staff though, who every time solved the problem for us.

Review 95:Great location, modern and clean room (although small). Good pub and a varity of choises for breakfast.

Review 96:Very very noisy, extremely small room, if you want to actually sleep don't stay here, needed windows open for air but then noisy. Not welcoming, some staff rude and offhand. I would not recommend for stay but stop by for food.

Review 97:Food excellent, very clean

Review 98:Window needs blind or something in addition to curtain as it looks out on to the square and needed to close curtains to change which shuts out the light

Review 99:Location Outside area

Review 100:Really mothing to complain about other than thin walls which meant the snoring next door woke us!

Review 101:The staff are really fantastic. The room modern and comfy, the pub meals were very good value.

Review 102:The room had the old metal sign outside our window which gives the place character as do the sash windows, unfortunately that was the downside. The sign squeaked and window rattled all night!

Review 103:The room was spotless, small but very well furnished! Staff were pleasant and breakfast was excellent!

Review 104:Noise from people drinking outside pub below window. Also breakfast was good quality but sausage was raw inside. Asked for another could hear the chef saying there was nothing wrong with it. New sausage deep fried and although well done on outside still raw inside.

Review 105:Central location

Review 106:When I first booked it I was a bit apprehensive because of the age of the place, I needn't of worried, The room was comfortable , and very clean .The breakfast was lovely as where all the staff .I would definitely recommend and return there again.

Review 107:No hairdryers in room. Rang up in advance to ensure twin beds for one room. Arrived to find set up as a double and no staff were able to change the sheets into 2 singles. This marred our experience.

Review 108:Nice decoration, very clean and very central

Review 109:However the location very noisy on first day of stay. Thai festivaloutside our bedroom window! It would have been nice to have been warnedabout that by the hotel.

Review 110:Location very central. Easy to walk to tourist attractions in Warwick

Review 111:We didn't have a problem, but it is above a bar and all the rooms face onto the square, so it could be noisy if there were customers sitting outside and talking loudly.

Review 112:The situation is very central and the room was modern and comfortable, if a little small.

Review 113:Nothing to dislike.

Review 114:Great location for many reasons. Quality of food was better than expected for the price. Staff are all really friendly & eager to help.

Review 115:Called through on Saturday evening to check booking. Staff could access computer to check and were a bit casual. Car park too small.

Review 116:Excellent cheerful staff, clean no nonsense room. Fantastic breakfast.

Review 117:heard people complain about noise at night could not believe it.did they not realise they were staying in a pub.we had no complaints at all the place was first class. i think it will not be the last time we stay here

Review 118:we liked everything about the place.never stayed in warwick before i quess sometimes you just get lucky, certinly did with this place,it was really good.

Review 119:External noise. No a/c.The room overlooked the market place. On a summer`s night it is very noisy until closing time. Early on Saturday morning awoken by the preparations for the market. Recommend earplugs!!

Review 120:Comfortable bed. Great breakfast. Pleasant staff. Nice room. Great location for walking around the historic centre.Great name for a pub!

Review 121:Noisy outside until after last orders. No problem if you are out til late!

Review 122:Helpful friendly young staff. Clean facilities. Good value meals, including good choice for breakfast.

Review 123:There is a market immediately outside every Saturday which means stall holders arrive from 6 am to set up. So we had a rather earlier start than planned.

Review 124:Simple and clean, tastefully decorated if a little lacking in space to sit etc. Good breakfast (and dinner). Staff very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed walking around Warwick and visiting the Mill Race garden.

Review 125:Noisy plumbing. Room a tad small, but otherwise okay

Review 126:The private parking was a big plus. It would have been very expensive to park otherwise. The staff were pleasant and informative. Good choice of breakfast. Pleasant view from bedroom of the street scene outside. Surprisingly quiet location considering it was the town centre. Many places of intest within walking diatance. Weatherspoons two doors away for cheap eats and drinks.

Review 127:problem with water pipe in bathroom sink for the money the property should supply hairdryers post hotels do now

Review 128:the staff are very friendlyand excellent at their jobs

Review 129:Noisy as above a busy pub, didn't bother us but if you are a light sleeper this location may not be for you.

Review 130:Staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was great and the food in the pub was good value. Really central location

Review 131:Being kept awake by the next room. As previous reviews, the walls are very thin. I except the pub noise and the noise from the square, but when all has settled it should be reasonably quiet. Otherwise I have nothing negative to say.

Review 132:The young staff were excellent with us. Nothing was to much trouble. Location is fantastic and food at the pub was very good. Parked across the street overnight as the car park is very small and the pub paid the 50p charge.

Review 133:Slightly noisy because it's above a pub.

Review 134:Great location, great food, fast internet, free on site parking. Room was very clean, modern, but basic. Easy access to food!

Review 135:Can't really point out anything that I didn't like.

Review 136:Location the main choice but welcome at the tilted wig much appreciated. Room a little on the small side but comfortable & breakfast excellent.

Review 137:Difficult to get to sleep, due to drunks leaving the pub, and arguing over who should / should not drive.

Review 138:very good staff, with great food, and very clean rooms. Rooms were small, but had very modern facilities.

Review 139:Above a pub so expected noise that was ok. What was annoying was after pub had closed staff dragging all metal tables and chairs across the paving to put them away in the early hours. A lot of tables and chairs equals a lot of noise! Whilst we stayed they had s big problem with the kitchen which they ripped out. Not their fault at all. We were served a buffet style breakfast but as a coeliac that left me with nothing to eat as everything was full of gluten. We weren't offered a free breakfast which was the least they could have done. And the other thing when we checked in they wanted us to pay a higher rate than agreed on Booking.com. All in all it was a mixed bag

Review 140:The rooms are very nice. Comfortably furnished, spotlessly clean. Fabulous bathroom. Plenty of towels. Lots of tea & coffee making equipment. Flat screen TV

Review 141:Would have been nice to have had a dressing table in bedroom and an easy chair if the room was a bit bigger. Didn't much like hearing snoring in next bedroom, soundproofing would be good.

Review 142:Helpful friendly staff, central position, general ambience
