Reviews for The Warwick Arms Hotel

Review 1:I was travelling alone with my 3 young daughters aged 8, 6 and 3. We were put on the top floor at the furthest point only to find out after getting the girls and luggage up there that We had been given the wrong room by mistake so had to change rooms. The room then wasn't very clean (dust covered bottles in the mini bar basket was very off putting). The room was also freezing and very noisy: it's an old building but a little refurbishment could see the window fixed to keep the street noise and cold out. The restaurant didn't open til 6:30pm so no good for hungry tired kids. I ordered a morning paper that never arrived. No info in the room eg a menu, important numbers or local info. The wall mounted tv was at a dangerous height as my daughter walked into it causing a nasty bump and little things like there was no towel rail so you had nowhere to put your towels in the bathroom and the tv remote had no batteries.

Review 2:Location and parking were excellent as were the excellent welcome from the receptionist and manager. They provided a very good breakfast - even making an off menu bacon sarnie at the girls' request with no fuss at all. The decor and decorative ornaments etc around the hotel were lovely.

Review 3:Small bathroom for a family room. Not really value for the price compared with twin with much larger bathroom for just two people. No bacon available at breakfast which is a basic thing.

Review 4:Location is excellent.

Review 5:Terrible bed, the worst shower we have come across. The central heating took a number of calls to fix. The rooms are very small and so are the bathrooms.

Review 6:Location is brilliant. Parking is a great plus. Breakfast is good.

Review 7:Breakfast a bit hit and miss ( no bacon when we came down at 9am - had to wait 10 mins for it.)

Review 8:Excellent location. Nice room (no 8) warm and plenty hot water.

Review 9:Tight car park. Poor alternative car parking. Receptionist obviously has to deal with this all the time and was quite unsympathetic.

Review 10:Location. Characterful building. Relaxing bar with helpful staff. Good cooked breakfast.

Review 11:Noisy neighbours! Not the fault of the hotel and they were quick to sort the problem out for us.

Review 12:Good locality - very pleasant dining room with good food.Helpful welcoming staff. Well decorated bedroom and bathroom, although a bit on the small side- certainly ok for overnight stay. Free parking and wi-fi.

Review 13:Very small room with even smaller bathroom. Hot water never exceeded tepid and shower was a dribble. Breakfast buffet had limited options, several hot items had run out and were not replenished. Luke warm coffee from a flask :( There is a car park, but is very small - expect to street park where it is pay and display with time restrictions and can be difficult to find a space.

Review 14:All the staff really friendly and polite Lovely character building Nice big bar/lounge area with real ales and reasonable prices. Good location for Warwick town centre amenities

Review 15:Breakfast looked lovely, but was cold. It is self service, one of the young waiters said the food comes out hot but what it is kept warm in just doesn't work well.

Review 16:our room was very comfortable and clean,

Review 17:The demise of the freshly served cooked to order breakfast replaced by the ubiquitous serve yourself dished up first thing buffet breakfast is a step backwards in the overall hotel experience and does not leave a positive last memory

Review 18:Central location , friendly welcoming staff

Review 19:Frustrating when you pay 130 per night then get charged 2 quid for a small bottle of water left in your room .

Review 20:Great location for the utilising the towns amenities

Review 21:Over priced. There are better hotels in Warwick that are far cheaper and have better breakfast options that are served to you. Bed was slightly uncomfortable and lighting system a bit ridiculous.

Review 22:Location, booked last minute

Review 23:Staff no hospitality breakfast was not nice Every body I noticed left a lot on there plate I personally could not cut the bacon poached eggs hard etc

Review 24:Where it was

Review 25:the room was lovely but the bathroom, mainly the poor shower really let it down

Review 26:the staff were great and very helpful, good location and clean comfortable room

Review 27:The bathroom basin tap was however bizarre - it seemed to aim water at your midriff. The shower was very underpowered - be ware if you want to wash long hair - you'd probably be better off standing opposite the basin and turning on the tap

Review 28:This is a beautiful hotel in an amazing location. The staff are delightful. The standard twin room was fine - we knew (due to late booking) we were in a twin, rather than a double, so when the beds rolled apart during the night and my partner fell down the gap, it was entirely our fault.... the fact that I then tried to help him and landed on top was unfortunate. It was lovely to see how clean and vacuumed the carpet was beneath the beds though - full marks. . Thank you for a lovely stay. I also enjoyed the sound of jackdaws in the morning. .

Review 29:Location is ideal, just two minutes walk to shops, pubs and restaurants. We stayed two nights in a comfortable room, very good breakfast and pleasant staff.

Review 30:There wasn't anything to dislike

Review 31:All the staff were amazing ,especially the manager food well ,spoilt for choice rooms were very clean and comfortable My daughter had her wedding reception there and couldn't have ask for better out standing for everything looking forward to going there again

Review 32:We had room 33 and although there was a notice to say it took a few minutes for the water to run hot it actually took 15 minutes.

Review 33:Very central. Very pleasant staff. Fabulous little Spanish restaurant next to hotel.

Review 34:Couldn't park. The breakfast guy on the first day wasn't very friendly. Lights in the room were strange No option to add that I was in a group of people for business and not a solo traveller.

Review 35:Bed was comfortable. The night porter was really helpful on our first morning as ensured we got a 6.30am breakfast.

Review 36:There was no information in the room about what the hotel offers e.g. dinner, time of breakfast etc. or even the number for reception. There was also no information promoting Warwick and what to see and enjoy whilst staying there. The room also had a very strange lighting system - don't switch lamps off at the plug, I thought it was not working and then had to clamber on the floor under a table to switch it on. At breakfast it would be great if the staff could serve fresh hot drinks rather than coming from an urn, the tea was cold when I had a cup and that would be a nice touch.

Review 37:A very pleasant hotel, well decorated and maintained. The staff were really friendly and very helpful and the location was excellent.

Review 38:The breakfast was like warm and all now self service. The radiator in my room was not on and the room was freezing and when I called reception they said they would see if they could turn the boiler on. The room was in the courtyard and right next to the car park (which incidentally does not have enough spaces for the amount of rooms), and I could hear every word of anyone walking by. My room was the first through the entrance in the courtyard section and anyone entering these rooms had to pass by mine which kept me awake until very late at night and woke me very early.

Review 39:The location

Review 40:Very small bathroom. Room was far too warm and when we tried to open the blind to get to the window, the blind cord snapped. It had previously been fixed with sellotape.

Review 41:Excellent location very near the castle. Good parking. Good breakfast and service

Review 42:Bathroom was very small & the shower was too small to be comfortable. No lift on the premises for guests. Fire alarm sounded at around 10:30pm with no explanation / apology following it.

Review 43:Staff were fantastic, location is superb, decor is a modern twist on an old building, beds were comfortable, food was delicious & the atmosphere was warm & welcoming

Review 44:This time our room was in an out building in the courtyard. It was awful...two nights hardly any sleep...the walls are very thin and noisy, the floor of the room upstairs extremely loud. Bed was awful...Hated it..Never again

Review 45:We stayed here 2 years ago and was great

Review 46:Didn't like the tea and coffee facilities at breakfast. You help yourself to a pump type thermos - the tea is weak and if you want more than one cup you are back and forth to serve yourself. Luckily the waitress realised this and offered me a good old fashioned pot of tea - Can't beat that!

Review 47:I liked everything about this hotel! It has an old worlde charm but has been refurbished to a high quality offering comfort and all facilities. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I especially appreciated being offered a pot of tea at breakfast!

Review 48:Extremely small bathroom in twin room. Constant intermittent noise coming form bathroom when entering

Review 49:Staff friendly. Good breakfast, reasonable parking. In Town

Review 50:Shower far too small, could hardly bend down in it or even move around in it. Had to wait for Breakfast to be refilled and most of it was cold when it arrived looked lovely though.

Review 51:Staff nice and friendly, good location and clean.

Review 52:We upgraded to a room with a "view" which consisted of a flat roof, skylight and the wall of the opposite hotel wing. Disappointing. Not a particularly exciting evening menu in the restaurant but plenty of places to eat within walking distance.

Review 53:Very central with good parking facilities and friendly staff. Excellent self-serve breakfast.

Review 54:The bathroom was very noisy - the macerator in the toilet made very odd noises and when the shower was on it sounded like a jumbo jet was taking off. Could have been a bit cleaner as well.

Review 55:The location was great - very close to Warwick Castle and the centre of town.

Review 56:None at all

Review 57:The Staff makes this Hotel Excellent especially the Deputy Manager ( Don't know her name but she used to live in Cyprus) Also the receptionist was excellent, we had a complaint but she sorted it immediately. Breakfast and Bar Staff also very good

Review 58:Excellent location for the purpose of my visit. Well looked after by friendly staff at reception and in bar. Breakfast more than adequate, too much for me.

Review 59:The hotel is badly located, rooms are tiny! Breakfast was poor. Extremely disappointed visit considering I was introducing my partner to my family for the first time. Breakfast is the most enjoyable part about staying away and there was no love in that breakfast! The fact that they use that horrible powered scrabbled eggs mixture was shocking and felt like they didn't care for their customers at all.

Review 60:The manager of the hotel

Review 61:Free Wi-Fi was useless, had to pay to actually use internet. After paying £90 a night I thought the hospitality tray in the rooms could at least have had biscuits.

Review 62:The hotel was well situated in Warwick. We only stayed one night but we were comfortable.

Review 63:Limited parking, had to park in town. No easy chair to sit and relax in superior room. Only one tiny pillow each.

Review 64:Convenient and historical location in centre of Warwick. Very friendly and helpful staff. Facilities clean and up to a good standard. Attractive courtyard room.

Review 65:A lot of little niggly things that added up. Blinds not very good, let in quite a lot of light. No overhead light and other lights on a complicated system that didn't work too well. Bed not that comfortable. Bathroom oddly laid out and a bit cramped. Chilly throughout the hotel. Parking definitely an issue - I got a space, but I was lucky, and it was very tight to manoeuvre in the car park; I can understand why people have mentioned it as a problem.

Review 66:Staff exceptional - very friendly and helpful. Good location. Clean and well-presented. Good free wifi. Quiet. Overall an ok stay.

Review 67:The water pressure in the shower could have been more powerful, took a while to rinse the suds off with the trickle of water that was coming out of it. Perhaps a lot of other rooms were using their showers at the same time?

Review 68:Lovely bar and pleasant staff. Bed and bedding were beautifully clean and comfortable.

Review 69:Breakfast wasn't great, baked beans were burnt. Could easily hear conversations from other rooms in the hotel - even could hear the above room whenever they used the bathroom (even during the night)

Review 70:Free Wifi. Good location - easy walking distance to some nice pubs and restaurants.

Review 71:Small room, small bed, uneven floor, weird lighting system, cold bathroom since the ventilation system is a covered hole to the outside, very very small shower and bad located toilet

Review 72:The location and decent breakfast

Review 73:Although clean, my room (1) had a problem with a drains smell - like the shower hadn't been used for ages and the water just sat there. The restaurant food was ok, but took an age to arrive (starter and main) - they did on request provide a free drink as an apology. But even at Breakfast the service was poor. Taste of washing up liquid from the plate, no teaspoon with tea - details which could have made it so much better.

Review 74:The location is bad

Review 75:Cobwebs in the room, I do not feel that the premium justified its name or price, the room was good but I am not convinced about the definition. My work has me staying in hotels on a frequent basis both in the UK and in Europe, so it would be fair to consider that I do have a good base for comparison. The restaurant closing on a Sunday evening and the dinner menu.

Review 76:Staff were excellent and were very helpful all the time as a whole I do like the hotel. Breakfast menu can be a guide as they will allow some alterations which is excellent. The locally sourced ingredients are of the highest quality but the chef needs to review how to cook scrambled eggs, as I have had better on a Singapore Airlines flight

Review 77:TV Not properly tuned. No hooks for hanging clothes, but there were plenty of coat hangers.

Review 78:Handy for the town. Get there at a reasonable time if you want to park at the hotel.

Review 79:VERY small shower room, and saniflow which was VERY noisy every time someone used the water etc (I know it pumps it out) it was also very smelly. could do with flushing through maybe?? We also had another room and it took ages for hot water and was virtually impossible to have a proper shower as the pressure isn't good at all.. shame as the rest was great.. One last thing, on 2nd morning we had to have breakfast in the 'dated' room as there was a party that they saves the original dining room for (which is lovely). I think as a hotel guest and not a cheap one either, we should have been able to have our breakfast as the the day before, in the nice modern dining area, so wasnt happy there really.. Breakfast in great though and plenty of it!! Well done Chef!

Review 80:Fantastic location if visiting the castle and right near the market square aswell. great for site seeing..

Review 81:Noise from argueing guests. ...leaking drainpipe...small rooms, very little car park,so get there early!! Small double bed ,thin walls so can hear allsorts of intimate noise..expensive bar, NO resturant open sundays of bank hols.shower was a trickle of water...view out of room window...No9....flat roof and aircon unit and rubbish thrown out there..won't be going back

Review 82:Breakfast was good..location near castle.

Review 83:The floor was very creeky and uneven l know it is a old building it's just a minor gripe also not much parking spaces available

Review 84:It was clean and a good position to explore the area

Review 85:The staff here are very friendly and helpful. When we came down for breakfast it was very busy and there were no table. They quickly got us drinks and arranged a temporary table. Young bar man was very friendly and so was the receptionist on duty on Sunday eve. (hope you both have good holidays!)

Review 86:Breakfast service was awful. Staff didn't greet us, had to ask to place our order. took ages to come through, even spoke to staff as we had a diabetic child at our table.

Review 87:Reception and bar staff were lovely

Review 88:Our room was very small. The bathroom was tiny and difficult to manoeuvre around.

Review 89:Breakfast was wonderful. Position was excellent when our reasons for our stay was to visit Warwick Castle. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 90:After informing hotel of my fathers disability they put him in a room on the 2nd floor. There were no lifts. I swapped my double room with him on the first floor. Staff were unhelpful but did give a small reduction to my father on check out. Rooms were tired

Review 91:The location and the breakfast

Review 92:They state free parking but you have to be the first person checked in to get it. You are then informed park in the street but be out before 8am to move your car to somewhere else and pay. Shockingly unhelpful

Review 93:Breakfast

Review 94:The staff was wonderful. We were a large family group traveling from the U.S. During our stay, a member of our party had a medical issue- the staff were extremely helpful and understanding. Wonderful, friendly service and provided terrific advice in navigating the British healthcare and in obtaining the medical services that we needed. The hotel is in a fantastic location for the castle and town center. Quiet, relatively spacious rooms, onsite breakfast. Would definitely recommend this hotel for its location, but the staff were superlative in every way, making it a 10.

Review 95:No major problems with this hotel. Minor points were bed could have been a little more comfortable and a bit more choice at breakfast. late comers had limited availability. Generally good value for price paid.

Review 96:Location was very good, Very central to town centre and Warwick Castle

Review 97:Horrible Muzak in bar and reception. Spoils the image. Classical music would be appropriate.

Review 98:Very quiet in sleeping area. Ideal position and free parking. Obliging staff.

Review 99:Very quiet in the evening no atmosphere but plenty of places nearby.

Review 100:Location, friendliness of staff, good breakfast .It was my wife's birthday and staff organised flowers and wine as requested without reminding excellent.

Review 101:Parking was limited and the staff were using the car park. Surely they should be encouraged to park elsewhere. Couldn't check in until 3 which is late. Room very small.

Review 102:Excellent breakfast.

Review 103:Our room lacked curtains substantial enough to block out the morning light. Coupled to the neighbourhood peacocks (nothing the hotel can do about these!), it meant an earlier than intended rise for us.

Review 104:The hotel is in an excellent central location for Warwick. And the staff were great both before our arrival (they contacted us after booking to sort out a wrinkle that other hotels wouldn't have bothered with) and during our stay.

Review 105:The wifi isn't great, with service a bit patchy.

Review 106:The staff are fantastic, so helpful. I am on crutches and all the staff went out of their way to help me.

Review 107:Breakfast service was very slow and the cooked breakfast was very dry like it had been under a hot lamp for an hour. The bathroom in room 1 had a terrible damp smell.

Review 108:Excellent location for the centre of Warwick.

Review 109:No veggie bacon or sausage. Breakfast room was way too hot (needed an open window or 2). Would be easy to put both of these things right

Review 110:Good position, staff nice, food tasted good. We would go again!

Review 111:The noise from the peacocks within the Castle which kept me awake and also being on the flight path for planes. The lack of space for parking.

Review 112:The contemporary refurbishment which works well for a building of such an age.

Review 113:Very poor shower, and the breakfast wasn't great. The sausages were precooked and reheated, mine was cold. The staff were apologetic and happily replaced though.

Review 114:Standard double bed very small and unnecessary in this day and age. The smell of the drains in the bathroom was dreadful, even with the window open and door shut. We booked a superior double, not sure what was superior about it.

Review 115:Location and free wi fi

Review 116:Interior quality - however it is historical building, so do not expect something extraordinary. Rather please be prepare for crooked and creaky floors, low door entrances and old building smell. But - what is a drawback for me might be a plus for somebody else ;)

Review 117:Tasty breakfast

Review 118:As it was hot, no fans so had to have window open and it was very loudby the main road-dustbin men, drunk people shouting. Very disturbedsleep I actually ended up sleeping on the floor as it was so hot. Alsosink in bathroom soaked me on full as it gushes out and shower a bitstrange. Other then the room bits, the hotel appearance was classy, clean and I would stay again but probably ask for a fan of a back room

Review 119:Breakfast Staff seemed nice Very clean Nice toiletries for shower Carparking was good

Review 120:Parking was a little difficult as limited spaces although we were very lucky and found a space both days as was touring about.

Review 121:Good location, breakfast very nice and room was lovely.

Review 122:The staff, from reception to breakfast, we're all friendly and helpful. The room was very small, bathroom tiny where I could barely shower in the small cubicle and tiny toilet, but it was adequate for one night. Location is excellent, being right near the castle and main shops/restaurants and within walking distance to the station.

Review 123:Dining area very stuffy but they opened windows when asked. In fairness it was very hot that day, about 33'C.

Review 124:Great location, nice room and very helpful staff.

Review 125:Details such as remote control not working, kettle not automatically switching off and shower head being a bit encrusted which was part cause of weak water flow.

Review 126:Style, location, parking, breakfast

Review 127:Bed a bit hard, fire alarm going off at 3.30am in morning did not help with little apology or compensation. Needs a coat of paint to modernise it a bit

Review 128:Good location, friendly staff.

Review 129:The breakfast was cold and under cooked, tables weren't ready when we went down for breakfast, had to wait for our table to be cleared before we could order.

Review 130:Great location, lovely hotel, polite, cheerf staff, good price!

Review 131:Slightly noisy next door room. Car park is good & seems fairly secure but should be clearly signed with directions. Not visible from the road

Review 132:Immediate room upgrade. Clean comfortable & friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast. Ideal location for our visit. Better than hotel our friends booked into for a similar price.

Review 133:The water pressure in the shower was not good, and the bathroom, though clean, was looking a bit shabby round the edges, ie floor tiles needed re-grouting etc. Also the bed was a bit hard and lumpy, and we could hear other guests in the corridors and other rooms. Definitely a good stay overall though!

Review 134:The room was basic but clean, great location right near town and the castle, no street noise, great breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. Oh and free parking! We didn't try the restaurant apart from for breakfast, so can't comment on that.

Review 135:Room was on a main road, single glazing, no curtains and blinds that didn't close properly. Impossible to sleep in the morning. Breakfast was ok, but the service was completely non-existent. Had to stand up to ask for absolutely everything we needed, and even ended up refilling the jugs of juice from the cartons at the bar because we had asked so many times for it and it just hadn't been done. Very poor in the morning.

Review 136:Charming and comfortable bed, nice and warm.

Review 137:Window didn't open and blind wouldn't stay up. Room got a bit stuffy. Car parking very limited. Room quite small so ok for short stay but not if you had much luggage. Water ran yellow in bath.

Review 138:Good location. Freshly painted.

Review 139:Awful bathroom, poorly planned. Nowhere to put things. Took 10 minutes to get warm water. No view from the room. Narrow bed.

Review 140:Excellent location between the Warwick castle and the center of Warwick, nice old building, newly renovated.

Review 141:Could suggest that curtains as well as blinds in room? as blinds did not block out light completely

Review 142:Room spacious, well equiped & comfortable Convenient location Very friendly, helpfull & welcoming staff

Review 143:The size of the room and the shower room was very small. The shower was extremely small and to sit on the toilet you had to approach by moving backwards. It was funny but not very practical.

The Fine Print

Please note parking spaces are limited and operate on a first-come, first-serve basis.
