Reviews for Ashorne Hill Conference Centre

Review 1:The only niggle is that there was a lot of hair in the plug hole of the sink

Review 2:Nice set up, staff veryvfriendly and helpful, especially consideting what time I arrived, rooms very comfortable, bathroom was lovely! Breakfast was delicious

Review 3:The room itself (located in a building on the premises separate from the main one) was smaller than I had expected and looked tired...

Review 4:Both dinner and breakfast were included in the price.

Review 5:The rooms was comfortable, very well appointed and clean. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Everything about my stay was superb.

Review 6:Great, quiet self-contained place out of the way. The room I had was fantastic and would be back in a shot, when I travel by car to Warwick rather than rail.

Review 7:Our first room was small and right next to the gym, and a path, so no privacy. We had no hot water. There was no pool available, and no bar available on the Friday evening.

Review 8:After a night with no hot water we were upgraded to a beautiful room, with plenty of hot water in the main house-lovely! Breakfast on the Sunday was delicious!

Review 9:Staff working in breakfast area very disconnected unless you were part of a group - still waiting for my coffee that I was promised. Broken window fittings in room.

Review 10:Reception staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 11:Old-fashioned bed room (although bathroom was nicely refurbished)

Review 12:Quiet and relaxing environment Impressive main building Excellent conference facilities

Review 13:All new fitted ensuite, but ventilation ineffective - not good for the second person wishing to shower. Exce

Review 14:The accommodation was to a high standard, with good materials used. Grounds and general aspect of the accommodation were outstanding.

Review 15:The rushed breakfast from 8:15 am. The choices of breakfast running out. The food kept under heaters too long and becoming congealed. The hard bed.

Review 16:The lovely location. The friendly reception staff. The delicious triple cooked chips.

Review 17:I wish I had read the reviews before booking. The room was very small, with cheap furniture, and away from the main house. The building looks like the 1970's concrete extension. The room I booked was on at £75 per night, via booking.com. I would put its value at about £30 per night. After a long discussion at reception I was given a double room which looks similar to images they put on booking.com. The receptionist was trying to charge extra £25 per night for this, but finally gave me a ‘free complimentary upgrade’ … The staff is friendly and helpful apart from a security person / nightshift guard Mr. Mark S.. He was very rude and unprofessional, so I complained about him to the hotel manager next morning and was told that he’s a retired policeman, hence his attitude. (what a joke!). Breakfast is only served till 8:45, quite inconvenient. Gym is small and basic. Hydro pool was closed when I arrived. Weak Wi-Fi & mobile phone reception. Never back there again.

Review 18:Hotel grounds

Review 19:On booking in and given directions to our room realised we were not going to be staying in the property that I had seen in pictures but instead in a modern room, it had the feel of a university campus. Room was clean and had everything needed just not what I was expecting.

Review 20:On arrival it was just as I was expecting, nice country location in beautiful surroundings.

Review 21:Bedrooms were more akin to student accommodation & at £95 per night for B&B, too expensive for what it's worth.

Review 22:Bar & restaurant were very good.

Review 23:When I checked in my wife stayed in the car. That may have been a mistake since the room we were given was set up for one person (one towel, cup etc). It had a double bed, but up a against a wall since there wasn't room to have it in the middle. Basically I think we'd been given a single room. Reception quickly sorted out additional towels etc. Room was on the ground floor with no net curtains, so the only way to have privacy from passers by was to shut the curtains and be in a blacked out room. The place has a fairly institutional feel and most people staying are probably attending courses there, so from about 6am there was lots of banging of doors. Also breakfast is only served till 8:45 and checkout by 9:45, so not a particularly relaxed start. In all not a great night's sleep. Having said that, perhaps in a different room it would be very different. The rest of the hotel is nice and it's a large place, so we may have been unfortunate.

Review 24:The setting is lovely, there's plenty of grounds to wander round if you have the time and a gym/hydro pool which was quiet. Bar area looked nice, but didn't have the opportunity to visit it.

Review 25:Very small, cramped, dirty rooms, much like a student dorm. Accomodation in very old block at back of hotel. Gym very limited and not as pictured.

Review 26:Breakfast was OK

Review 27:Price of taxi for a 5 mile drive- £15 and that was negotiated!!!! Nothing that the hotel could do about that but maybe have a particular firm to deal with.

Review 28:Locality- very close to where we needed to be for the weekend. Staff very helpful. Room clean, bright and modern. Great shower and comfy bed. Breakfast very good and plenty of choice.

Review 29:Signposts for the centre could be a little more clear? Location on Booking.com site could be a little more accurate.

Review 30:Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was good and reasonably priced. Rooms were comfortable and shower very good. Iron readily available is always and advantage for someone not brilliant at packing :-) Perfect environment for business meetings.....

Review 31:No food or drink available due to "low number of guests" I was notified of restaurant being closed but only found out about the bar being closed on checking in at 20:30.

Review 32:No air conditioning in the room we stayed in so even with the fan supplied and windows open, we were considerably warm. I would have expected aircon for the price we paid. We were also disappointed to find that the room we were given was in another building on site which was far from Grade 2 Listed but a rather ugly modern 'functional' dwelling. The photos show the older building which is not reflective of the hotel as a whole.

Review 33:Comfortable bed and quiet location with plenty of open space and greenery. Spacious surroundings. Staff were helpful and pleasant.

Review 34:No food served in the evening and only a limited bar service 8 - 10pm. We were only told this at check in.

Review 35:Staying for the F1 great location and beautiful grounds

Review 36:rooms quiet far from reception in different buildings.
