Reviews for Castle Limes Hotel
Review 1:Limited parking on site, with just 5 or 6 spaces. Had to park overnight near a busy parade of shops and takeaways across the road from the hotel (St. Johns). Only 2 hours free parking then it's OK after 5pm, so I'd recommend checking in to the hotel just after 3pm. Car was OK though! Road outside could be noisy, but it was located near the centre of Warwick so it had to be expected.
Review 2:Large room. Friendly staff. Substantial breakfast!
Review 3:The room was too hot and could not open windows as room faced main road and was a little noisy, but this was a small thing and not unbearable. Personal preference but I would have liked dressing gowns.
Review 4:Very friendly, helpful staff. Very close to Warwick centre and train station. Very clean! Great place to stay and parking included.
Review 5:Sofa bed could be a bit bigger certainly room for it and the mattress not thick enough could feel springs
Review 6:Great location very friendly fantastic breakfast and really appreciated the follow up emails after making the booking
Review 7:Room located at front of hotel. Loud traffic noise during the night. Mentioned concerns about noise on arrival and was told it wouldn't be a problem. Disturbed sleep throughout stay.
Review 8:Spacious room. Staff helpful and friendly. Good location for Warwick town.
Review 9:Warm welcome. Lovely massive clean room, good veggie food. The fact that the morning chef checked if I was vegetarian as the mushroom are cooked in bacon fat. A lovely hotel and staff. Attention to detail marvellous.
Review 10:The room was small and situated right by the entrance door, next to the car park and next to a toilet for use by other hotel guests which backs onto the room we stayed in. Bed was bouncy and room very basic.
Review 11:Location, owners, hand wash in bathroom and shower.
Review 12:The room was spacious, very comfortable and clean. We had a family room which had a separate room within it for our daughter to sleep on the sofa bed. There was plenty of space in our room for the travel cot. The breakfast was tasty in a lovely restaurant/lounge area. The staff were excellent, very friendly and offered excellent advise on where to eat. Would definitely stay here again and would reccomend it to anyone.
Review 13:Sofa bed could be more comfortable. Hotel parking is limited.
Review 14:Great sized family room with separate lounge area, perfect for toddler and/or cot. Good breakfast selection and friendly staff.
Review 15:The hotel and room was clean, the interior was modern and of excellent quality, the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The full English breakfast was very good. and the location is good for local attractions.
Review 16:I liked everything, will definitely use this hotel again
Review 17:Clean, quiet, very comfortable. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Very convenient location
Review 18:An extra night would have been great
Review 19:Great location at the bottom end of the High St close to lots of restaurants and bars/pubs. Private on site parking. Situated on a road junction but very quiet inside. Lovely comfortable spacious room and bathroom. Great breakfast.
Review 20:Excellent value for money. Clean, comfortable, well appointed accommodation. Staff deserve 5?+ as does the delicious full English breakfast. Spacious, VERY comfortable bed. Will be returning to Castle Limes when next in Warwick.
Review 21:Only down side was, there is only parking for about 7 cars and its in a very small yard. The bar area was also very small and no restaurant.
Review 22:Location was good only a few mins walk into town. We had a family room which was actually two rooms both very spacious and lovely and warm. Breakfast was very good and served until 10.00 on a Sunday.
Review 23:Lack of Car parking spaces lets the hotel down. Very limited parking available in small car park at rear of hotel (6 spaces).
Review 24:Spacious comfortable room. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Review 25:Some may find either the location or the range of services offered not to their liking and parking spaces are limited, but nothing can or does detract from the quality of service offered by this hotel.
Review 26:From before our arrival this hotel contacted us directly to ask if we had any special requirements. On arrivals there was a genuine welcome not practiced or rehearsed. The hotel does all it can to assist visitors during they stay. The quality of service is exceptional.
Review 27:The hotel was immaculately presented, comfortable and the staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We had breakfast delivered to our room the next day and without a doubt, it was one of the best I've had!! Would definitely stay again.
Review 28:Shower was very weak and not very hot. Parking is restricted. Cooked breakfast was a little soggy!
Review 29:Friendly and efficient staff. Nicely decorated. I didn't eat there but good vegetarian choices on the menu. Close to town.
Review 30:We had a roadside room and the road gets very busy and can be noisy.
Review 31:The hotel was modern, clean and the food was top class. The staff were a total delight. Our room was huge.
Review 32:nothing
Review 33:Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had a family room which was two rooms lots of space it was very clean and comfortable i would recommend this hotel to anyone. Breakfast was lovely lots of variety can't do enough for you.
Review 34:Mattress was so soft/thin that I could feel the bed base beneath me in my room. The shower cubicle was a little small for a man of my girth, slight smell in the corridor.
Review 35:Welcoming and mostly ok place to stay. They had a fan in the room to allow you to cool down a little - that was nice.
Review 36:The bar-draught beer please and a till. But that was not really a problem at all.
Review 37:The staff were delightful;friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable; the breakfast was delicious - on both days and the serving staff again were brilliant. As a whole the hotel made the weekend perfect.
Review 38:Extremely friendly and helpful staff. A delicious breakfast. Modern clean and spacious rooms.within easy walking distance of the town centre and warwick castle
Review 39:The main problem is shower and pressure. Hardly any hot water. The bed was also not that comfortable. Not worth the price. Right by main road.
Review 40:The decoration looks good. Size of the room. Friednly Staff.
Review 41:The only thing is it's on a busy road - our room was at the front, and there was a good deal of traffic noise from early morning. Parking in the yard is very tight - room for only 6 cars. Otherwise it is a very good hotel.
Review 42:Lovely room, very nice staff, handy for Warwick town centre, with loads of bars & restaurants
Review 43:Some of the rooms look out on a busy main road. I have difficulty with street noise early morning (many don't); but the manageress was very accommodating and moved us to a room that was quieter and upgraded.
Review 44:The first thing to notice was how friendly and accommodating the staff where, and how clean the hotel was kept. There always seemed to be painting or touching up in the corridors! Breakfast was good and hearty if you wanted. The bathroom facilities were good to excellent and clean.
Review 45:Intrusive traffic noise even with windows closed. Lack of attention to maintenance of room (no.11) - eg. dodgy shower controls, non-working alarm clock, tissue box had only 1 remaining
Review 46:Helpful staff, good breakfast, within walking distance to centre of warwick
Review 47:The room was a very good size and clean. The location was perfect for visiting Warwick Castle and the town. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Review 48:We had to leave, but we will be back for certain.
Review 49:Location, had stayed before as , (was it the Crown) it had character creaky floorboards. Has undergone a total upgrade, rooms superb. Staff most welcoming and helpful.
Review 50:Our room was right by the road which was quite noisy
Review 51:Hotel was simple but nice, we arrived on Fri but no food was available due to their staff being on holiday. Was walking distance to Castle and a lovely museum and park just nearby. Would definitely visit again.
Review 52:2sinvle beds together could feel the ridge in rib cage too noisy as door to room thin. & light shone through door
Review 53:Staff good . Bathroom &room good
Review 54:bit frusutrated I had to go out for lunch after a very early start, long drive and tough meeting. Maybe this is just me being tired and grumpy though
Review 55:stay went out of their way to be helpful - all of them by the way.
Review 56:loved everything about our stay, staff, food, location, hotel, the room.thank you you for a lovely welcoming stay even to help park our barge of an american car, many thanks neil&mel.
Review 57:Room 2 was a little warm and stuffy, ground floor window couldn't be opened very wide and smelt a little damp (suspect this was the wet room shower)
Review 58:Really friendly staff, great rooms and location
Review 59:The bathroom was large but no bath has been installed and the toilet was next to a hot towel rail . Unfortunately the walls did not cut out the noise of snoring from the adjacent room which meant we did not get a good nights sleep . The hotel was adequate but not worth the money paid in my opinion
Review 60:The staff were very attentive and friendly.room was a nice size.breakfast had a good variety of options and was cooked to order .
Review 61:Traffic noise was a little disturbing from room 4, right in line with the traffic lights.
Review 62:Great location for Warwick centre.Excellent to have free parking too.
Review 63:The very central location was ideal-close to station, castle, race course, restaurants and Grand Union Canal for additional walks. Staff very friendly, huge choice at breakfast and lovely little "lounges" on each floor as well as the main one with books, games etc
Review 64:The large bed room, bathroom (including shower) and separate toilet were excellent. The free parking in the court yard was a real bonus and the location for walking into Warwick was perfect.
Review 65:No coat hooks or hook on back of en-suite door. Some days our towels which were left for changing weren't changed. Toilet was sometimes the only thing cleaned/wiped in the en-suite - glass shelf above basin stayed as it was all week. Bedding had to be changed on our arrival as it had been made up with soiled bedding. Bed wasn't changed once after that during a weeks stay. Very small car park (which we were told about) and takes some very good manoeuvring to get in and out of most of the time. No proper cupboards, wardrobes, drawers in the rooms.
Review 66:roomy suite - family room good Wi-Fi and tv very comfy bed roomy en-suite Good plentiful breakfasts with good choices
Review 67:Very minor things - just a bit short on car parking spaces but there is parking available across the way and the shower wasn't very hot but like I said very minor things, wouldn't put us off returning
Review 68:We loved the location of the hotel, 5 mins walk to the castle and a couple of mins walk into the town. The hotel was lovely, excellent service, excellent breakfast in the mornings, the room was so comfortable, we had an executive double room on the ground floor, excellent space, huge bed, big wetroom and soundproofed windows so you couldn't hear the traffic outside
Review 69:Not a dislike but if you are a light sleeper rooms at front have road noise rooms at back seem to be quieter but would not stop us recommending this lovely hotel
Review 70:very spacious room with large new bathroom very clean and comfortable breakfast very tasty and staff very friendly and helpful
Review 71:Reception wasn't particularly customer focused.
Review 72:Large, quiet room (rm 9). Whole hotel feels clean, well maintained modern decor. Excellent location. Nice service at breakfast.
Review 73:Nothing really. The digital service to the in-room TV went off-line a couple of times but responded to the usual remedy of switching off and switching on again. It wasn't worth complaining about.
Review 74:Excellent location less than 5 min walk from Warwick (town, not Parkway) train station but also close to town centre. Pleasant room, well-cooked and presented breakfast served by polite and friendly staff. Pleasant, friendly, avuncular staff at check-in (I think he may have been the owner and was finding his feet as a stand-in receptionist!)
Review 75:Soiled towells placed in room, coffe cups not washed, breakfast was served to my partner first and by the time my veg breakfast had arrived he had eaten his. I had requested veg breakfast when I booked accomodation. No toast brought to table until main breakfast arrived.
Review 76:bed very comfy
Review 77:The car park was very small, although there was parking across the road.
Review 78:The staff were very friendly. The breakfasts had a good selection to choose from. I requested 2 shirts to be washed, it was done with no charge. Centrally located, could walk to the castle.
Review 79:The parking is very limited and very tight, but we managed
Review 80:The staff were excellent and so accommodating. Happy to recommend local attractions and helped to find local services that we required. Great location and close to everything via walking.
Review 81:The personal welcome, friendly staff and a really good breakfast. Much nicer than a soulless big chain! Great location near the railway station. Perfect base for exploring the town and near to the castle and racecourse. Highly recommended.
Review 82:Huge family room, very very helpful staff. Breakfast was superb, both cooked and continental options. Property is a hidden gem and yes we would definitely stay here again! Brilliant location for Warwick Castle too.
Review 83:Is on a very noisy busy road . Had a room at the front so very noisy . Asked for a paper to be left outside our door but didn't get it the second morning.
Review 84:Comfy bedroom and bed . Lovely breakfast .
Review 85:Staff were friendly and willing to help. There was a great choice of breakfasts to suit all appetites and the room was bright and spacious with good facilities, ideal for a short stay.
Review 86:Breakfast ordered it came with items hadn't ordered for it to be returned with the beans wiped off the plate but the bean juice all over the other items. Bacon asked for well done/crispy only partially cooked on one side then to add fuel we were noted that we had 2 breakfasts on Sat so almost charged extra. Pillows made the sleep and the location with the traffic noise not a good one. Would I book again no, I would look elsewhere as a superior room it wasn't. Shower not at the full power it could be. I read the reviews after I booked as I try to use own judgement the parking was a issue to me as its advertised with parking but your not told till ask about the restricted parking. Which your told is free after 3pm but it's different to what is advertised.
Review 87:The parking space is limited and the hotel could still work a bit on improving the food the offer in the restaurant.
Review 88:The hotel is located within a walking distance to the main attractions of Warwick. The staff is extremely helpful and the rooms are spacious and well equipped.
Review 89:great location for Warwick town centre, lovely modern comfortable room, staff very friendly and pleasant, breakfast was a good choice available and very tasty. 10/10
Review 90:Bed was a little uncomfortable and sofa bed needed a bigger duvet as children couldnt cover themselves completely.
Review 91:The staff were amazing, very helpful and friendly. Bedroom for family was great in size and appearance.
Review 92:The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was excellent and overall the room was clean, nicely furnished and very comfortable. The location of the hotel was also very good, maybe a maximum 10 min walk from the castle. The only very small downside is the main road next to the hotel, as with the window open it is quite noisy, but overall I have no complaints. I would definitely stay again and recommend strongly to anyone else.
Review 93:The mattress needed renewing, very saggy. Noise travelled easily between rooms, poor sound insulation in walls.
Review 94:Friendly and communicative staff. The bathroom was spacious and new
Review 95:The Castle Limes is a lovely hotel. We stayed in a family room with our two children. It was modern, clean and more like a suite, than a room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was to much trouble. The location was just what we needed. Near Warwick Castle. There is a park nearby, which the children really enjoyed. People in other reviews have mentioned the road noise, but it did not bother us and the windows when shut blocked it out. The breakfast was tasty with lots of choices. Really enjoyed our stay, would stay again. Thank you x
Review 96:Could have done with a chest of drawers in the bedroom. There was plenty of room for more furniture. Not a very big wardrobe either but was sufficient for our 1 night stay.
Review 97:Friendly staff, comfortable bed and lovely breakfast
Review 98:No real car park, only space for 6 cars, parking a lottery over the road in front of busy shops/takeaways.
Review 99:Room quality, really excellent. Great central location
Review 100:We love to open our windows when we travel, and the fact that we could not do so in our room was a little bit annoying but not enough to dislike our stay.
Review 101:Friendliness of the staff , great breakfast, cleanliness of the bathroom and the room in general. Very close to the rail station and Warwick Castle which was key for us.
Review 102:Could not fault the hotel, especially the very happy staff at reception and serving breakfast in the morning!
Review 103:The welcome was warm and friendly, the room was more like a suite! Even though we were near the reception and overlooked the main road, we heard very little noise and had a lovely stay!
Review 104:Nothing to not like. If I wanted to be picky more milk would be good.
Review 105:All of it! Room, staff, location.... It's on a busy road. Don't let this put you off the windows are well soundproofed. Lots of nice little touches can't wait go again.
Review 106:The only thing we didn't like was the beds. Both our bed and our son's bed were lumpy and not very comfortable.
Review 107:The location was wonderful. Breakfast was yummy and well prepared. The staff was amazing. They gave great service and good recommendations for the area.
Review 108:No negatives!
Review 109:Absolutely lovely place to stay, would highly recommend it. Even though it is located centrally it is still really quiet. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely too.
Review 110:Nothing to dislike
Review 111:Good location, modernised to a high standard, quiet, clean and comfy with very helpful & friendly staff. Provides an excellent choice of breakfast
Review 112:Road noise from road .Hotel is on a road where the traffic is heavy and only quietens down after about 11pm. Tiny car park which is okay if you are able to get into it but no room to turn around in it once you drive in and there isn't any space. which is probably very likely due to the extreme small size of it.This is not a complaint but an observation which might assist future visitors.
Review 113:Everything was great apart from the 'Road noise' and this was only worse because it was really warm weather and not able to leave the windows open due to the noise outside. Staff lovely and helpful and there is a very relaxed atmosphere within the hotel which is nice. Lovely pleasant dining area.No complaints at all.
Review 114:Nothing . We did not know that an evening meal was available , which we are sure would have been as good as the breakfasts .
Review 115:staff , breakfast , room , shower , the list goes on .
Review 116:Were told that there is a menu for vegetarian. in the morning we were told that for vegetarian we remove the meat from the menu which mean which mean vegetarians will get 2 items less from the 8 items breakfast menu. I explained that, she said she could double 2 items which she did but she skipped the mushroom out from all of our 4 plates. tea was warm, we were given 2 pieces of toast to share between the 4 of us, we asked for more but it took a while to com. The eggs arrived coldish I have ended up eating cereals and left . we left not impressed by the breakfast, but we went to a nearby Historic Tea Room and had a wonderful breakfast. we had to pay for it though :(
Review 117:The family room is really nice and clean, it is made of of 2 separate room each h as a tv, one for kids and another for parents. there is a nice fan and a hairdryer. hand soap, shampoo and conditioner, good quality. the bedding are clean and the bed is very large, and fairly comfortable.
Review 118:Limited parking, had to drive around a bit to find a space The double bed was 2 singles pushed together with the irritating gap that creates
Review 119:Good location, friendly staff, good sized room and nice bathroom
Review 120:We had a lovely stay at Castle Limes. We had a one year old with us and the staff were very accomodating, the room was clean and comfortable and the hotel was in a great location.
Review 121:Car park is a bit tight but having a city centre hotel hotel with free parking is worth the effort of a 10 point turn shuffle!
Review 122:Central location and easy to find Spacious, well appointed, clean and comfortable room Good size bathroom with excellent shower Quality breakfast Attentive and welcoming staff
Review 123:Very little. Only the lack of parking. We arrived before 4pm and there were no spaces. There are 14 rooms and 4 parking spaces. We were fortunate that we were staying with friends around the corner, others would be paying a lot of cash or a long walk otherwise (rail station parking is 150m away) Parking in Warwick is very hard and one of the reasons we booked the hotel was for parking.
Review 124:The fact we could all stay in one room which was split into a lounge area and sofa bed and a huge bed in the bedroom. Bathroom was really nice too
Review 125:From the moment we arrived and in every interaction we had with the staff they were brilliant. Lovely room with extra beds for our girls, great big bath which filled really quickly and fantastic breakfast, again with great staff. It was the last night of our holiday and provided a fitting end to a lovely trip.
Review 126:Central location but sited at junction of 2 busy roads making room v noisy. Impossible to leave window open. Very restricted parking although free car park opposite.
Review 127:Room comfortable with decent facilities
Review 128:Although this feature didnt bother us but wifi was slow with a weak signal or none at all
Review 129:Our stay was brilliant ,friendly staff ,good food and a spacious comfortable room ,couldnt fault it .
Review 130:The fire alarm went off 3-4 times in the night! Not their fault, but not pleasant either. The rooms were also quite hot, but a fan was provided.
Review 131:I really liked the location - close to the train. It was real value for money.
The Fine Print
