Reviews for Lympne Castle Cottages

Review 1:The mattress was extremely soft so not a comfortable night. The shower needed repairing as it had a broken wall bracket.

Review 2:Spacious rooms. The view from the nextdoor churchyard was stunning. It overlooked the flat marsh area towards Hythe and the French coast was clearly visible in the distance. The kitchen was well equiped.

Review 3:Nice lodge with two bedrooms, separate bathroom and an additional WC downstairs. Fully equipped kitchen, with Washing machine! Nice Bistro around the corner.

Review 4:The double bed was hard and lumpy. The curtains were on rods, so when you open the windows the curtains fly open. The settees were of poor quality and cushions frayed - so the sitting area was uncomfortable. The carpets were dirty. There were no hand towels. For £250 per 20 hours - very expensive and poor value for money.

Review 5:It was quiet.

Review 6:I could not fault anything about our stay at Lympne Castle Cottages!

Review 7:My new wife and I stayed in one of the cottages after our wedding and it was the perfect end to our big day. Relatives stayed in other cottages over two nights and everyone loved the period features coupled with modern, clean decor and facilities. Breakfast in the adjacent pub was also excellent. I would completely recommend a stay here to anyone for the idyllic surroundings, beautiful secluded cottages and the dedicated staff.

Review 8:Angled ceiling in the hallway meant I had to walk on one side of it all the time. (I am 6'4 though). At £139 a night, I was surprised that the breakfast was served at the local pub (5 mins walk) and not the castle. It was nothing special at all - minimum English breakfast; 1 small sausage, 1 piece of bacon, 1 piece of toast, (you get the idea...) Absolutely zero phone reception for those of us with one of the major networks (Something to consider if you've got to organise ushers, flowers etc!)

Review 9:The cottages are slap bang next to the castle. A minute's walk and you're there. Three bedrooms, big lounge with a lovely view, ample kitchen, spacious bathroom with good supply of toiletries and it was clean. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Review 10:Stayed in Lambourne cottage with my wife and 9 year old grandson, and it was the best accommodation that we could have wished for.Stunning views of Romney marsh. Staff were very helpful and friendly, even though they were very busy with a wedding.

Review 11:The dovecott above the window in the master bedroom very noisy at 5 am and not mentioned in the details of the pineapple cottage

Review 12:Breakfast included all you need in the cottage attention to detail great location

Review 13:Great place with really friendly staff!

Review 14:The need to travel elsewhere for breakfast is ridiculous

Review 15:The setting is fantastic and the views are spectacular.

Review 16:Pitch black at night.. Easy to get lost.

Review 17:The whole environment. Fantastic

Review 18:An ideal destination for a weekend away (or for even longer if time permits). My fiancee and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4-night stay in Pinkiehill Cottage. The cottage itself was very homely and well equipped. It proved to be the ideal location and suited us far more than the standard chain hotels in Ashford. The staff proved to be excellent and could not do enough to help us. Breakfast, within the castle itself, is something we will always remember. When we are next in the area, this is where we will be staying!

Review 19:no WLAN

Review 20:very friendly stuff, wonderful cottage, very good breakfast, quiet
