Reviews for Brackenborough Hotel

Review 1:The whole place looks very tired and in need of a face lift my room smelled strange shower old only one towel no hand towel wifi only works in the bar.

Review 2:Food was good staff very friendly.

Review 3:just one small thing the room i was in was very dark ,the lathing was very poor , but the room was fine for the price

Review 4:great looking hotel and bar /restaurant ,great staff

Review 5:Nothing but a shelter outside for vaping/smoking would have been nice, it was pouring with rain.

Review 6:All staff were pleasant and efficient. Excellent selection of gins. Tasty food.

Review 7:isolated hotel specialising in functions.noisy around rooms when functions on. I stayed in premier room but standard fell well below norm, therefore overpriced. really awful bed, thin old mattress and hard base, room decor depressing, dark mushroom. Limited breakfast buffet.

Review 8:Nice public areas, breakfast staff lovely , nice and quiet when no functions on.

Review 9:There really was nothing wrong at all.

Review 10:One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in, second only to Government Centre, Boston MA. Highly recommended.

Review 11:The room was tired looking we were not informed there was a wedding on until we arrived. It was very noisy until shortly after midnight. There was no waste bin in the bathroom.

Review 12:Breakfast was good but they were sliw in topping things up like yoghurt fruit salad etc. Staff were pleasent.

Review 13:Breakfast was poor in that we had eggs benedict, and we both felt thr spinach was gritty, ie it hadn't been washed properly.

Review 14:Beautiful well presented room.

Review 15:Towels perfectly clean but a bit frayed and tired.

Review 16:Easy to find, lots of parking, handy for Louth and rest of Lincolnshire Wolds. Staff very friendly, good restaurant .

Review 17:The evening meal was not to a great standard, and the bath in our room was chipped and at first glance seemed as though it was dirty.

Review 18:The staff were excellent, the room was ok and breakfast was enjoyed.

Review 19:Pretty clueless bar and restaurant staff. Had to ask for bathroom towels, but delivered promptly. Soap, shampoo fixed to the wall so when having a bath had to stand up to retrieve.

Review 20:Front desk staff. Very helpful. Good tea making in room.

Review 21:Reception a little to complicated for more that one to book in WiFi very bad in the hotel and really should not ne stated provided

Review 22:The facilities were all good and the arrangements OK

Review 23:Room smelt of sick which we think came from cleaners cupboard as disappeared after it was shut up. Didn't agree with paying an early check in fee of £25 when we attending a function there and checked in at midday and checked bill and had been charged twice for this

Review 24:Location is great and breakfast fabulous

Review 25:Not keen on the "twice cooked chips" on the dinner menu: chips should be golden, light and crispy, not dark brown, heavy and limp.

Review 26:Friendly staff, everything worked, not noisy, conducive to a good night's sleep.

Review 27:This a a fairly old building with narrow corridors upstairs. I felt some aspects of our room could do with upgrading for a hotel of the standard this one seems to want to be and for the prices charged. Some decorating needed and some that has been done is only average.

Review 28:Staff very friendly and breakfasts were great. Beautiful grounds in a peaceful location very handy for the town.

Review 29:The restaurant area with the bar was very dark and poorly lit. The food was a little disappointing and didn't reflect other more positive aspects of my stay and comparing to other visits of similar venues around the country in the same price banding.

Review 30:Lovely location, very clean room and pleasant staff.

Review 31:Other guests kept slamming doors constantly, woke us up serval times especially in early hours. The shower did leak onto the floor, maybe a point to be looked at.

Review 32:Great room, fairly clean, perfect for one night stay, extremely friendly staff.

Review 33:Hair in bath. Dark room. Couldn't walk into Louth.

Review 34:Good on-site restaurant. Good quality furnishings in room. 'Proper' hotel. Nice sitting out areas.

Review 35:Had not booked a table to eat there and could not get one until late as they were busy so went into Louth this was a bit dissapointing. If had known we would have booked a table but thought hotel guest would have priority will know for next time.

Review 36:Staff were welcoming and helpful rooms were very nice location is good good selection for breakfast.

Review 37:The dining area (conservatory) was a little bit shabby compared to the rest of the hotel.

Review 38:All the staff without exception were attentive, friendly and professional. Our room (105) was perfect, very happy with our stay.

Review 39:Staff were extremely friendly and helpful I had occasion to require the local hospital and hotel staff actually took me and picked me up from the hospital.first rate service

Review 40:No mobile reception or 3/4G but that's hardly the hotel's fault! Could be cheaper but I did book last minute.

Review 41:Lovely hotel in a rural setting with open countryside all round. Spacious, clean room and fantastic choice of breakfast options. Surprised that this is not rated a 4* hotel. Restaurant food very good too.

Review 42:I would recommend a grab handle in the bath this would have been helpful

Review 43:We asked to move rooms as a generator was below our window, and was buzzing. It was no problem to move and we had a lovely room very quiet and we enjoyed our overnight stay. The Receptionist was very polite and helpful. Our meals were excellent. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Review 44:The staff, from top to bottom were excellent. They were pleasant, helpful and fun to be around. The hotel itself is kept very well, grounds etc. Food excellent, would definitely revisit and also recommend. Great job.

Review 45:Music was a little loud in the room at times but nothing off putting.

Review 46:Wide range of choice at breakfast, comfy bed, excellent en-suite facilities. Staff very accomodating

Review 47:The room was lacking a few basics I would expect from a hotel of this standard. For example a hairdryer, shower cap and tissues.

Review 48:The bedroom was nicely decorated with a very comfy bed. The public rooms were cosy and attractively furnished.

Review 49:I think its a personal preference but for me the bed was to firm. Everything else was perfect.

Review 50:the food was superb and the feeling of being completely out of the rat race was wonderful, no traffic noise only bird song and people having a good time. We totally recharged our batteries.

Review 51:Heating turned off one day during stay and also room not made up until requested at 7pm. Menu requires a rething in the evening, specials were all fish based every day.

Review 52:The breakfast was superb

Review 53:Our room - although adequate, clean, quiet and well furnished was too small for a couple with luggage. To be fair, however, I think we did get the last bedroom available. Lack of a few essentials in the bathroom, i.e. waste bin, tissues etc. .

Review 54:Food in the restaurant was excellent and good value. Waiters/owner were very efficient and friendly

Review 55:Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room although quite small was well decorated and maintained with everything we needed. TV, tea and coffee, ensuite bathroom and a telephone. Being able to book a wake up call was great and not always available in many large chain hotels.

Review 56:nothing to not like!!

Review 57:Such a friendly atmosphere - I was delayed arriving and they couldn't have been more accommodating offering me a sandwich and a warm smile on arrival! Comfy warm bed and great bathroom facilities made it like a home from home!

Review 58:Wifi unreliable. The shower curtains with a narrow bath meant it kept brushing against you.

Review 59:I stayed in mid winter so I was glad of a toasty warm room when I arrived. Staff could'nt be more polite and helpful.Food fantastic.

Review 60:The room is starting to feel dated now. There was a noise throughout the night, from the hot water tank filling. The wifi hardly worked and the data coverage on the phone was poor.We only were given one bath towel between the two of us.

Review 61:I have stayed here many times in the past, as there is very little choice in the area. The food is always of a high standard. And the staff very pleasant.

Review 62:Nothing

Review 63:The decor and cleanliness were of the highest standard. The Bar / Restaurant staff were helpful, pleasant and attentive. The Brackenborough is an excellent and relaxing hotel.

Review 64:We were attending a party in Lough and didn't realise we were so far away but staff were very helpful booking a taxi for us there and back. We had a lovely meal in hotel before we went out.

Review 65:Food a bit on the expensive side but excellent amounts, taste etc. First part of drive desperately needs attention - full on potholes & puddles.

Review 66:The comfort & friendliness of the staff.

Review 67:The decor but that is a personal taste thing.

Review 68:Very helpful staff. Free upgrade.Excellent food. Breakfast was enjoyable with a refreshing choice of dishes. Television at the end of the bath was a novelty. Bed was exceedingly comfortable and large. Would stay again.

Review 69:CLIMBING STAIRS WITH LUGGAGE NO HELP TO CAR

Review 70:ROOM SERVICE FREE WIFI EXCELLENT BED BEAUTIFULLY HEATED ROOMS FOOD-PREVIOUSLY STAYED AT A WELL KNOWN HOTEL WITH NO FOOD FACILITIES

Review 71:Service at the bar chaotic, due to new staff not being managed properly.

Review 72:Nice room and public areas. Staff very helpful. Food very good, and a strong wifi signal in the room.

Review 73:The location, whilst beautiful, was a mile or so outside of Louth which created an issue securing a taxi to get into town on a weekend!

Review 74:Great hotel in a convenient location just outside of Louth. Excellent room and a fantastic breakfast spread. Well placed to visit the Grey Seals at Donna Nook!

Review 75:Absolutely first class food, very warm welcoming staff, everything about the place is spot on.We visit at least 3 times a year for a relaxing evening with good food and wine... The breakfast is also very delicious, i always have the eggs Benedict, this is cooked to perfection, my husband has the full English, top quality produce every time .Thanks again

Review 76:I found that there was service (do not disturb) cards in the room. Hotel is closed over Christmas. No gym facilities.

Review 77:Staff were very friendly and helpful Facilities proved to be very good Location suited my requirements Room was nice and clean plus spacious.

Review 78:Food Sea bream was not fresh/well cooked, the crab risotto was a disaster & cauliflower too hard to cut. Porridge at breakfast was inedible - how do you ruin porridge??

Review 79:Friendly staff Very quiet

Review 80:The bed linen and towels smelt of cooking oil...a little off putting..

Review 81:Very friendly staff...excellent breakfast! Enjoyed the Gary Barlow and robbie tribute band, in the amazing Tennyson venue!! Very classy!!

Review 82:Staff fantastic, food amazing really lovely hotel. We have stayed before and will definitely stay again. They made a mistake over the rooms for our group but quickly sorted it out an made apology with complimentary wine with our meal. Very good service

Review 83:Hoped to be able to walk into Louth but it was too far. Only wanted a small snack-type meal but the hotel only had full-on pricey dinners. Felt pressured to book for dinner on arrival but had not decided by then. Bed not very comfortable and it was quite high. Felt the hotel was quite expensive. Had a view over the roof from our 'executive' room. The place was scrupulously clean except, inexplicably, for a hair grip on the bathroom floor. Perhaps it fell off the cleaner.

Review 84:Close to Cadwell Park. Excellent wifi. Fantastic quality tv pic. Very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely setting. Breakfast was huge, very nice and extremely good value. I would stay here again.

Review 85:That I had to query the bill one night. One of us had ordered from the early bird but this did not appear on the bill, full price was charged. I should not have to check with a hotel of this quality.

Review 86:This is our fourth visit and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Nice quiet room.

Review 87:There was nothing to dislike

Review 88:I had to check in at 1.30 am ,and was very surprised that the night porter took the time to make me something to eat ,and nothing was too much trouble for him, this was very refreshing as many places i stay no longer do this any more

Review 89:WIFI was very patchy & slow during my stay. Deluxe room was very comfortable, clean, and spacious, but lacking in any special touches to justify it's higher price.

Review 90:Great chef, excellent food, imaginative menu featuring lots of local ingredients. Breakfast superb, best hotel breakfast I ever had, and I travel a lot! Staff very pleasant & helpful. Lovely location on outskirts of Louth, lovely gardens.

Review 91:Nothing!

Review 92:Stayed for a sunday evening - had a really enjoyable stay, food was great and the staff were genuinely welcoming and friendly, particularly a waiter called Jamie - made all the difference! Would definitely recommend a stay on a sunday - made for a very relaxing stay - which is what we hoped for!

Review 93:staff here are fantastic..we stayed with our 2 daughters a 6 months and 6 years..staff helped with my sterilizing and sleeping arrangements due to a confusion with the booking...they corrected everything and nothing was too much trouble.. also the restaurant was fantastic...food was top quality ...great service in all areas

Review 94:Only stayed one night so was not around to long however I tried toorder a combination from the breakfast menu which the girl foundcomplicated for example all I wanted was eggs and bacon but ended upwith full English !

Review 95:Good / friendly / staff / well maintained

Review 96:Feather pillows Lack of customer service at evening meal, lack of eye contact, long waiting times for service Stain on black carpet in room Described and charged for as an executive room but apart from spa bath not that special

Review 97:Location The building The food was very good

Review 98:Unfortunately our room was just above the kitchen and so there was some noise.

Review 99:Friendly helpful staff who are well trained. Beautiful decor and the food was excellent.

Review 100:the room was in need of a redecorate. plumbing was poor, bath water took 30mins to run away. with window open the noise from the A16 was very loud, with window closed the room was stuffy. food prices were high, but the food was not to the value charged.

The Fine Print

There may be some noise in bedrooms when the hotel hosts wedding receptions.
