Reviews for La Bastide du Vallon
Review 1:-narrow driveway/road in
Review 2:-quiet surroundings -excellent breakfasts -the facilities to make and eat our own dinners by the pool side -helpful hosts -beautifully furnished rooms
Review 3:The owners were very charming and accommodating. After spending time in larger cities it was a like going to an oasis of peace and quiet in the country. Yet, we were able to walk to an excellent dinner at the local restaurant. Highly recommended.
Review 4:Isabelle and Xavier Charming hosts, made us feel immediately at home. French breakfast with fresh ingredients and local produce food was delicious, and very fresh. We arrived on a snowy day. which is not a typical at the Provence area and charming hosts make sure we did not miss anything and enjoyed the different experience Thank you for a magical and enjoyable vacation. best regards, Linor & Yakim
Review 5:Somewhat out of the way, however this was more than offset by the peace and calm of the property and the helpful and considerate hosts. My wife was sick on our last night and the hosts were both caring and thoughtful.
Review 6:Lovely house with adventurous access road, great hosts, cosy room with own terrace, delicious breakfast with fresh figs from their own fig tree, cuddly (and big) dogs, good starting point for day trips to Gordes, Avignon or even Marseille.
Review 7:Nothing!
Review 8:We enjoyed a very happy 5 nights' stay, having booked the independent room away from the main house. Xavier and Isabelle are lovely, welcoming people, who go out of their way to ensure your stay with them is made as comfortable and as happy as possible. Breakfasts were out of this world, the bedroom and bathroom very spacious and comfortably furnished, the swimming pool is in a beautiful setting, and we used the outdoor summer kitchen to cook meals on 2 evenings. The bistro restaurant in the nearby village of Saumane (15 minutes walk) is a delight too. Walking in the Vaucluse is fantastic from this B&B - Xavier and Isabelle will help you plan a route. As long as you realise the woodland setting is isolated from the village you will find La Bastide du Vallon hard to beat. We will certainly return if visiting this beautiful area of France.
Review 9:Nothing
Review 10:Very nice location and very friendly owners!
Review 11:The setting in the French countryside, wonderful room , beautiful breakfasts prepared by Isabel who is a gracious and lovely host. Not to be missed!
Review 12:Wifi without a password complicated to access
Review 13:very pleasant surroundings solitude and romance Outdoor kitchen with pool
Review 14:Great space, beautiful room, nice to have a pool to swim in after spending the day in small mid evil villages nearby. Great friendly hosts!
Review 15:Road is a problem, for me it was OK but my wife was so afraid that we did not stay for our second night.
Review 16:Super breakfast +++ Very friendly
Review 17:There was absolutely nothing to dislike. It was a joy to stay here!! The best!!
Review 18:Was a true cultural french experience with the wonderful family who were so accomodating and hospitable. Such an enchanting place to stay and will recommend it highly.
Review 19:Beautiful accomodation, friendly and nice owners, they prepared us a wonderful and memorable vacation. Best value for your money. Only to recommend.
Review 20:A great place to stay. Hosts were warm and friendly. The two rooms, one in a cottage and the other attached to the main house were very comfortable. Large beds with lots of space. The breakfast was ample. The table was beautifully presented with delicious fresh baked bread, croissants and fruit and much more.
Review 21:As previous reviewers said, the GPS coordinates take you to a mountaintop and not to Bastide du Vallon. It was a challenge to find but we'll worth the effort. Everyone we asked in Saumane knew the road we needed to find so your best bet is to head to Saumane de Vaucluse and ask.
Review 22:The owners, Xavier and Isabel, were gracious hosts. The room was lovely and bright and we enjoyed time on our terrace and at the summer kitchen/pool area. The breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit from the local market and delicious fresh bread. There were yogurts to go with the fruit. Breakfast was great value for € 7.50.
Review 23:Traditional and well-preserved ‘bastide’, located in a perfect landscape near the picturesque village of Saumane. Really clean and spacious room with comfortable bed. Discreet hosts, always helpful with suggestions on daily trips. Ideal for travelers wishing to explore Provence’s countryside. Absolutely worth its price. Strongly recommended, regardless of visitor’s age.
Review 24:The narrow concrete 800m long unlit entry road from Saumane to la Bastide du Vallon.
Review 25:Xavier and Isabelle were the perfect hosts, with nothing being too much trouble. The location is great for relaxing and the breakfasts were fresh and very yummy. Great place if you like animals, with cats, big soft dogs, horses and a few things rummaging around at night but nothing to be scared about, the place was great.
Review 26:The road to the bad tide is difficult to navigate. Also, it should benoted that the bad tide is in Saumane-en-Vaucluse. There are 2 othersSaumanes in France.
Review 27:The owners are very hospitable.
Review 28:Everything! Our hosts Isabelle and Xavier were so friendly and kind. So hospitable and helpful. Isabelle's breakfasts were beautiful...such attention to detail. We felt spoilt to be staying in their lovely home. Very comfortable and peaceful. We did not want to leave and wished we had booked more nights!
Review 29:Lovely room in a self-contained annex with small patio. Charming hosts who were helpful. There was a good-sized pool though we didn't actually use it, plus a summer kitchen to do self-catering if you wanted it. The breakfasts were spectacular- fresh orange juice, yogurts, croissants, cheese, fresh fruit- all lovingly presented with flowers and a real flair. Good strong coffee. Very nice people. Recommended.
Review 30:Thank you for your kindness average given by the host. Isabella and Xavier tried everything like to do for us Organized a special program for us to host a good old Morris car. Interestingly the family garden layout. It takes a lot of tranquility and natural, sincere treatment we received. We became good friends. I hope we meet again.
Review 31:This was an awesome place to stay. The owners were wonderful, friendly and so good to my granddaughter and me. I could not say enough good things about La Bastide du Vallon. Beautiful cottage with deck, lovely decorating, unbelievable bathroom. Stay here if you can. You must have a car as you drive down a narrow road to get to it. When there you will find Vaucluse at its best.
Review 32:The gps coordinates take you up onto the mountain range behind theproperty so be sure to head to Saumane village and wind your way downthrough the village to the private road... Or instead of winding upthrough the cut curving rock face to Saumane continue straight aheadwhich will lead you directly to the sign posted private road.
Review 33:The attention to detail so far exceeds what you expect for the pricethat we worry that too many people will discover this wonderful placeand we will never be able to book again. The owners are so friendly andhelpful with amazing food both in their home or in restaurants in nearbyvillages. We only stayed here two nights but had we visited before goingto Aix en Provence we would have hot tailed out of Aix and straight backto Saumane and la bastide du vallon. We also loved the two beautiful bigfriendly dogs, and the breakfast was the best we had during our ten daydriving trip through France. Set in a stunning pocket of wilderness witha lovely pool and outdoor area you feel far enough away from the hustleand bustle but only fifteen minutes away from Fontaine de vacluse or aten minute walk along the private road to the quaint hilltop village ofSaumane. We can't recommend this lovely b&b enough.
Review 34:felt a bit to far in the mountain, but it was great at the same time. there are no shop around, not even a house in walking distance.
Review 35:very friendly and nice family. house was very pretty.
Review 36:Friendly people Good reception Nice breakfast
Review 37:The family owner are very welcoming. The place is very homely, a really comfortable stay. Would love to come back again.
