Reviews for Cromer Country Club By Diamond Resorts
Review 1:Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. We were pleased to be upgraded to an apartment. Very modern, clean and comfortable. Bar/Restaurant food and service excellent. Entertainment a bonus.
Review 2:The fact that you can't check in until 4pm & check out is at 10am. I came up here for a relaxing detox on my day off & I didn't even get a lay in. The staff are rude & there's a lot of hidden expenses I.E £5 for GYM £10 for pool £1.50 for towels £3 for a DVD
Review 3:The location is beautiful & the rooms were perfect
Review 4:when you first walk in and they ask for £20 for early check in before...They say something nice like hello hope your day has been good. I check if your room is ready. not! you book on booking .com so you have to pay extra. its only 14.00hrs-your room is ready at 16.00hrs. I'm not sure that the best thing to say to a customer when they fitrst walk in.
Review 5:the room and setting,
Review 6:This self contained villa was in a lovely quiet position within walking distance of the town centre. We liked the freedom to dine at "home", in the restaurant or in the nearby towns. Warm and cosy, well equipped kitchen and bathroom and it had everything we needed. Staff were very efficient, pleasant and polite. They ensured that we had everything we needed for our stay. Excellent pool and spa facilities.
Review 7:Very friendly staff, reported a electrical problem and was fixed the same day. We never had chance to try the facilities. Next time visiting Cromer I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Review 8:Me and my partner stayed here last weekend it was great the accomodation was superb the staff were extremely friendly and very helpful! we will be returning soon :-) A+++
Review 9:The adapted electric bed in apartment was too low and my wife found it difficult to get out of bed. The controls lift head feet etc but not the whole bed .
Review 10:Very good quality furnishing and cleaning spotless. This is our third stay at Cromer Country Club
Review 11:Apartment 41 could of been cleaner, there were crumbs down the sofa bed so that wasn't cleaned properly, the mattress needs to be changed as it was lumpy and uncomfortable
Review 12:The staff were friendly and helpful, the bar and restaurant was excellent and had good food and value for money
Review 13:We stayed here with my teenage daughters and parents, whilst attending a family wedding. The accommodation was brilliant, very clean, very comfortable and lots of space, staff very helpful and welcoming, the only down side was carrying all your bags up to the apartment but will def stay again!
Review 14:No bath, only shower, a bit disappointing given size of room.
Review 15:Very enjoyable one night stay. Room comfortable and good size. Kitchen well equipped, be useful on longer stay. Bar/restaurant a little dated.
Review 16:Although on a much reduced deal had to pay £5.95 per day for wi fi for two devices which I thought was expensive as most places now offer free wi fi.
Review 17:Very comfortable accommodation with all the extra touches. Polite staff and reasonably priced restaurant/bar.
Review 18:Nothing at all.
Review 19:Jam 2016: we stayed in a recently refurbished 2 storey villa with 2 bedrooms upstairs; downstairs were 2 sofas + 1 armchair that all potentially can convert to sofabeds in open plan lounge/dining area/kitchen, 2 spotless bathrooms (both with showers), fully equipped kitchen with cooker, washing machine, dishwasher, toaster, coffee machine, crockery/cutlery etc plus tea, coffee, pots of milk, dishwasher tablets etc, upstairs and downstairs TVs, king size bed in one bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, twin beds in the other bedroom, big balcony off lounge. Always difficult to find places to stay where family size is bigger than 4 - this resort was perfect!
Review 20:No real faults. If I were being picky the wifi seemed slightly overpriced
Review 21:The accommodation exceeded our expectations and was fully equipped and very comfortable. The staff were exceptional in their friendliness and attitude. The price paid represented very good value for money and I would not hesitate in recommending a friend.
Review 22:This was our second visit to the country club and we think it's an amazing place. We could not ask for anything else. Everything was perfect and we'll also be coming back in 2016 for another break
Review 23:Only thing that let it down was that we had difficulty connecting to wi-fi... A pain as there is no 3G reception AND the shower was terrible. It was hot but there was no power - one of those showers you need to run around in to get wet! For a recently refurbished room I would expect something better!
Review 24:We stayed in our recently refurbished studio apartment on 19th Dec and I was worried that it may be a little cramped... WOW it was huge! There was plenty of space to make breakfast/dinner in the kitchen, and a decent sized lounge area with dining table. I was very impressed with the amount of storage for clothes (great for longer stays) and a dressing table with mirror & plug sockets near by (it's rarer than you think!)
Review 25:The bedroom was in an alcove in the lounge, possibly because the bathroom had been made larger. The music and vocalist in the bar was VERY loud, which made it impossible to talk to each other.
Review 26:The location was good, and the apartment was very clean and comfortable.
Review 27:Need a later check out time 10.00am way to early. More adult only swimming times needed.
Review 28:Spend three days here over Christmas, staff make it a wonderful time. Evening activities were great fun thank you Bex. Always feel like one of the family when we visit here. Location is excellent for walking in to Cromer. On site restaurant serves good food at a good price.
Review 29:The internet was not good. We paid for the cloud for 48 hours (costing £12) but the connection was really bad. It was a waste of money.
Review 30:The apartment had a fully equipped kitchen for cooking. Also very spacious apartment. Friendly staff. Nice location on a hill top
Review 31:Charging £7 per person per day to use pool is a bit steep if all you want is a chill in the jacuzzi.Think they should at least give each person one free visit per stay.
Review 32:Good value meals, quiz and entertainment, great singer, fab mulled wine! Easy walk into Cromer and Overstrand. Our 3rd stay love it.
Review 33:Tfhe only thing that I was surprised at was that on the monday night there was a lot of noise coming from the appartment beside us. It started at 2.30am..
Review 34:The location of the property to Cromer itself.
Review 35:The food facilities and staff in the bar were not up to standards really disappointed with the service they provided.
Review 36:Loved the apartment and the swimming pool, staff on reception were fantastic.
Review 37:My experience at Cromer was very poor. Prices are way too expensive and you still have to pay to use other services like wifi or the pool!!! The fact that they take a £100 holding deposit and still haven't paid it back after a week!!!!!
Review 38:the sea views
Review 39:the only negative was there was only one bath towel in the bathroom and the water pressure in the shower wasn't very good.
Review 40:We stayed in a studio which was spotlessly clean with a fully stocked kitchen.
Review 41:Being able bodied and allocated a villa equipped for a disabled guest we did not find the bathroom facilities to be of the same standard as we have previously enjoyed.
Review 42:Having stayed several times before we knew what we could expect. The refurbished bar and restaurant area makes a positive difference.
Review 43:We ate in the bar and although food was good, the wait as ridiculously long. The bar is not owned by the company....a shame because it's a nice place to chill out
Review 44:Superb lodges...very spacious and extremely clean and comfortable. Pool was big and very clean. Great location and easy to get to the sea
Review 45:nothing
Review 46:It has everything you need in the kitchen, perfect self-catering. Clean, nice bedding and very friendly.Very close to the coastal path for walking.
Review 47:Fantastic clean and very well equipped accommodation. Facilities are great. The reception staff are very welcoming and friendly which makes you feel at home straight away.
Review 48:Site was not very well lit in places so we found it difficult arriving in the dark particularly in far end of top car park where we had to park.
Review 49:Facilities on studio were excellent. Little extra things meant a lot - toilet rolls, tea towel etc
Review 50:Wifi instructions for multiple devices could be clearer.
Review 51:Very friendly reception staff and the apartment was very clean and warm. Didn't try the facilities as we were only there for 1 day. Will definitely be back.
Review 52:Everything was excellent, no negatives.
Review 53:Accommodation was fab and fully equipped, we were staying for a family funeral so didn't have time to benefit from the facilities but would definitely return and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Review 54:It's not pet friendly, would be amazing if you could bring dogs that were best behaved as you have the grounds for them.
Review 55:Lovely family stay and great facilities
Review 56:The lay-out takes a bit of getting used to, but really there's nothing negative.
Review 57:Well equipped apartment, lacked absolutely nothing. Staggering value for money.
Review 58:Unless you are a Diamond Club member all the facilities and WiFi arecharged as extras
Review 59:Quiet location a mile from town centre; comfortable accommodation withall mod cons
Review 60:The bar wasn't really our thing: a bit loud and bright. The coffee was good though and the staff friendly.
Review 61:The friendliness of the welcome from all the staff members we met. The pool and steam bath were really good (better than in the photos!) and the accommodation was clean and comfortable. We were warned about noise from refurbishment works but we didn't hear anything. It was quiet and peaceful and just a short stroll to the lighthouse and the coast path.
Review 62:Everything catered for. Pleasant staff who enquired if we were all right and if we we needed anything. Although it was self-catering the properties are cleaned every few Amy's.
Review 63:Excellent receptionist on checking in and the facilities were superbly clean and went beyond expectations. The grounds were immaculate as well - a real credit to the place
Review 64:It's a shame that you have to pay a an additional and high price to use wi-fi access, when most comparable (and cheaper!) hotels offer it for free !
Review 65:Good class accommodation
Review 66:I was not happy that the bedroom smelled damp and the bathroom radiator did not work. I also did not like having to pay an additional fee to use the pool and gym facilities.
Review 67:I did like the size of the villa and it was both comfortable and had every amenity
Review 68:The place was great the only let down is the bed was far to hard. It was like sleeping on the floor. You hotel is great but if the beds are not comphy then it spoils the whole stay. Maybe surgery medium beds
Review 69:Apartment really beautiful but I think the staff made the stay great, so friendly even walking round the grounds. 10/10 for customer service
Review 70:The extra cost to use the sports facilities and wifi!
Review 71:We booked 2 nights in a studio and were upgraded to a 1 bed apartment. It was very clean and well equipped.
Review 72:This did not spoil our stay but our studio had a room above which led to noise from people walking taking shower etc. A minor problem at night.
Review 73:All staff very friendly and helpful. Nice clean well equipped studio. Excellent restaurant and food.
Review 74:apartment was well equipped but the sofa and armchair v dirty and springs hard so v uncomfortable let the apartment down
Review 75:location and staff lovely apartment well equipped
Review 76:Having to park a distance away and then being charged £10-00 a day to use the swimming pool.
Review 77:Very Good facilities- staff friendly- Amber restaurant food was great and good value
Review 78:Location is on a hill with lots of steps...not ideal for infirm or elderly. But we coped fine.
Review 79:Accommodation was super. We had a 2 bedroom place which was modern and clean. The kitchen was very well stocked with appliances and utensils. We had a large veranda. The onsite bar and restaurant was very good.
Review 80:The extremely steep drive up to the parking area, especially as the road was only wide enough for one car at a time.
Review 81:The accommodation provided all that we needed for a very comfortable stay. The staff, particularly on reception were welcoming and helpful and checked during our stay that everything was okay.
Review 82:Use of the pool was at an aditional cost which wasn't stated when booked. The use of the pool should be free for hotel customers.
Review 83:Nice chalet apposed to just a room that would of cost the same elewhere
Review 84:Staff in the bar were a bit inattentive and service was slow. Parking was a bit distant from apartment on a dark, wet night
Review 85:Clean, modern suite with good facilities
Review 86:There is no sound-proofing between floor levels, I could hear every footstep above me, and the sound of the shower. Cork soundproof flooring between levels will easily deal with this, in lieu of a concrete slab.
Review 87:Easy to find, very professional and welcoming staff (Catherine), lovely studio apartment. This was an overnight business trip, it was lovely to be able to relax with a cuppa and an hour of telly sitting on a sofa rather that in bed, before bed. PS you have a question below regarding breakfast, this was not included.
Review 88:Unfortunately the grill tray had not been washed, but it was hidden under another tray so easily missed. Also returned to a dreadful smell one afternoon as sewers were being serviced which meant all water from loo and u-bends in sink and bath was gone. This allowed the wind to blow some unpleasant smells into the apartment, could also be a significant health hazard.
Review 89:Staff were very nice, welcoming and helpful. The apartments are very well equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay. A very high standard. I am sure the negative points were a one off, and will be rectified when noted. We would definitely go again.
Review 90:Being told on arrivale that share holder's pay £55.000 a year for the privalage to check in to their appartment early, "not very professional i didn't think" !!!!!!!!!!!! Apart from that our break was great, would we go again YES Thank you
Review 91:The location was excellent for beautiful walk's to the beach
Review 92:Starter and main weren't the best. i had the chicken skewers and the madras as it was curry night. Both sauces were like ready meal standards.
Review 93:Very friendly staff. Huge rooms. Bar/dining area modern and comfy. Entertainment was a nice extra.
Review 94:Would have liked to use other facilities (swimming pool, etc) free of charge.
Review 95:Very comfortable, excellent facilities in lodge. Nice to have bar & restaurant on site.
Review 96:Stayed in a studio with excellent facilities. Staff very welcoming and eager to help make your stay as pleasant as possible. On site restaurant provides excellent choice and reasonable prices.
Review 97:I arrived very late (after midnight) and the gentleman in reception could not have been more helpful and with a very elderly parent, and two very tired young children his helpfulness was much appreciated. The apartment was immaculately clean and very well equipped. Providing filter coffee was a welcome surprise!
Review 98:Our apartment was spotless, with comfortable furniture and a well appointed bathroom and kitchen. We were very impressed with the restaurant, the menus were simple but well cooked and the bread, which I understand is made on the premises, is some of the very best I have ever tasted. A simple pleasure, but it illustrates this resort; not flash or showy but rather the things that are really important have been done perfectly.
Review 99:The gardens is the flower gardens particularly the rose garden were poor. A shame as the other plants in shrubs were very good.
Review 100:Range of facilities and ample accomodation.
Review 101:lovely weekend walks pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna walk threw the valley for a icecream fish and chips lots to eat and drink played badminton for we went home relaxing
Review 102:Sound insulation between the upper and lower units was poor and if your neighbours were noisy we felt it was a potential problem.
Review 103:Clean attractive comfortable accommodation. We were only there for one night and didn't have time to try the facilities.
Review 104:check in facilities not great as their check in time was 4pm everybody turned up at the same time so queues
Review 105:self contained and could come and go as you pleased, good facilities, excellent food, friendly staff would book again
Review 106:I would not come to this site again because it is on a steep hill and to get to the car we had to go up steep steps. We are in our mid 60s and I was concerned that the climb to the car was difficult. I would however look for other sites owned by this company.
Review 107:I found the apartment very comfortable.
Review 108:Paying for wifi, it should be free. I was disappointed that there was an additional charge for use of swimming pool and gym etc. And why charge for 24 hours for use of facilities? I don't know of anyone who would stay in a pool for 24 hours. They should charge for individual visits.
Review 109:Good location and good facilities. The staff were excellent and always friendly. The accommodation was clean, tidy and well laid out, though I don't know what a studio is like.
Review 110:Extra charge for Wi-Fi (£5.95 for 24 hours) and use of the leisure facilities (£10.00 for 24 hours).
Review 111:Nice place for walks, easy parking and very good facilities. Excellent self-catering facilities so ended up not using the restaurant.
Review 112:Food service in the bar very slow - we were short of time and so gave up and ate elsewhere. A shame as the menu was packed with things that we liked.
Review 113:Excellent accommodation with every thing that you could need when staying away. Nothing to fault with location or facilities. Nice and quiet. Spotlessly clean. Perfect. Superb on site massage and beauty parlour. We will stay again.
Review 114:Not your fault but we found the noisy family out on their terrace irritating - some people have no consideration for others.
Review 115:The villa was absolutely lovely, better than our own home! The food in the restaurant was excellent as well.
Review 116:The restuarant & other facilities shoud have been better sign posted to enable people to find them easier. the appartment was excellent with all high quality white goods & utensils, large tv on the wall.
Review 117:The swimming pool, sauna, steam room were excellent. ,
Review 118:The high cost of internet use when it is free in most places. The high cost of leisure facilities. It would have cost £15 for one of us to have a swim!
Review 119:It was comfortable, warm and clean with good space for 3 adults.
Review 120:Staff were very friendly. Good breakfast at the restaurant. Apartment was a lot bigger than I thought it was and accommodated us all nicely with plenty of space
Review 121:Cost of the Wi-fi & 4pm check-in/10am check-out with an hourly charge for later check-out. Charges for gym & pool too expensive.
Review 122:We booked a studio for 2 & it was extremely spacious & comfortably furnished with an excellently stocked kitchen. Little extras throughout (complimentary bathroom & kitchen products). Nicely tended garden & perfect for the coastal walk to Cromer centre.
Review 123:The parking facilities were somewhat chaotic. Transferring luggage to/from the car was a real problem particularly with the number of steps involved. A reserved parking space assigned to a room would be most helpful.
Review 124:The quality of the room(s), furnishings and equipment was first class, an excellent place to stay.
Review 125:The shower - too small, no place for toiletries and shower head positioning impossible! Charging for wifi is outrageous. Similarly, charges for use of the gym and swimming pool are outrageous too, especially for the small amount of usage oldies like us would make of them.
Review 126:The accommodation was well maintained, beautifully clean and very well presented. The welcome and service from all the staff we had contact with was first class.
Review 127:the only fly in the ointment was the size of the double bed[in studio 78a]-really i can't see us spending more than one night at anytime if no larger beds are available.also my husband has a small niggle at being pestered for customer reviews !
Review 128:especially the care and thoughtfulness which has gone in to the provision of kitchenware for self-caterers-even down to salt and washing up liquid
Review 129:WE WERE ASKED TO PAY £10 TO USE THE POOL. OUTRAGEOUS. We will never return to this hotel. We were also requested to pay for wifi, this is not acceptable anymore.
Review 130:Self catering facilities were excellent.
Review 131:The cost of wifi far too expensive, shower cubicle very small, water pressure from shower very low.
Review 132:All problems rectified immediately. Help with luggage was much appreciated. Studio was ideal for our needs.
Review 133:one night dinner took over 40 minutes to arrive and no-one kept us updated as to what was going on-needs to be better service in restaurant
Review 134:the apartment was very good, excellent self catering facilities. staff very good too.
Review 135:Parking not easy. My unit was not accessible by car so I had to carry my suitcases either down a steep flight of stairs or a fair distance along a path. If I stayed again I would request an easily accessible unit. I am 65.
Review 136:It was a good self catering I hadn't actually realised it was basically a self catering village. The name was misleading.
