Reviews for Hotel de France

Review 1:Nothing to dislike.

Review 2:Our room was lovely and had a fridge, which given the heat of the summer was really helpful. We only stayed for two nights but the room was cleaned everyday. We had double French doors leading out to a sitting area with garden table, chairs and umbrella which was lovely. The pool was excellent with plenty of sunbeds.

Review 3:The restaurant meals in our opinion were not particulary good.

Review 4:We loved the room, which was located in an annexe,at the side of the swimming pool. We had our own patio. The village too is lovely with plenty to see and do in and around.

Review 5:well run hotel May - June is low season and this was perfect for us to visit the sites and the National museum of prehistory. Food and service was excellent at the hotel and at the other restaurants at Les Eyzies.

Review 6:Only not finding anyone there when we got there

Review 7:It turned out to be a great room, very spacious and clean. Even though we had booked only hours before through Booking.com and after driving all day, we found no one at the hotel. There was a large motorcycle event in town that weekend so everything else was full so we were in a bit of a panic. Fortunately, we finally decide to go in a pizza parlor just before they closed and one of the waitresses spoke english and knew the hotel owner so managed to call his personal number and find him. Everything was great after that. Very nice, friendly woman and her son managing the hotel. Good breakfast, fantastic area for siteseeing!

Review 8:Restaurant was not open during our stay, but that was not a problem. There are lots of quality restaurants in walking distance !

Review 9:Charming location, nice rooms, free private parking

Review 10:The hotel is split in several buildings, and the annex, where is the swiming pool, is nor near. Poor value for money.

Review 11:The location of the main buildings: in the center of the action, yet not imersed on it.

Review 12:The bed was slightly on the small side.

Review 13:The hotel is located on large property with a large swimming pool. It's 5 mins walk to the centre of the town and the museum of prehistory. Plenty of parking.

Review 14:The pool was supposed to be open until 9pm but when we asked at 8.30pm it was already closed.

Review 15:The view from our hotel room was lovely and the staff very friendly despite a little language barrier we managed to understand each other :)

Review 16:It was remote (1km) from the main hotel and a walk on a busy road into town. No air conditioning.

Review 17:The annex has an outdoor pool and the room we had was nice and very quiet

Review 18:Room was small and quite dark and bathroom was in need of a revamp.

Review 19:Proximity to town from annexe. Nice swimming pool and good parking. Good choice at breakfast. Value for money.

Review 20:We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel de France. The family run hotel has delightful staff, ready to go that extra mile at any moment. The evening food in the restaurant was excellent too. It's in a perfect central location in the town with everything in walking distance. Highly recommended.

Review 21:It was a shame that the hotel insisted on taking a deposit before the actual date of arrival and there was a cancellation fee. This fact we hadn't noticed at the time of booking the hotel

Review 22:Although a short walk from the hotel our accomodation was spacious and comfortable. The food in restaurant was very well presented and delicious.

Review 23:Extractor fan was broken and initially there was no shower curtain.

Review 24:We were in the annex by the pool in the only twin room they had. Beds and bedding were fine small ex mini bar for a fridge. The real bonus was proximity to the clean and lovely pool. Staff we're very friendly.

Review 25:The ajoining rooms we had in the annex were very suitable for our extended family group. We all enjoyed the terrace outside our room, and the quiet, rural atmosphere. The children rated the swimming pool very highly. The annex is only a short stroll to the main tourist area of town.

Review 26:Zero

Review 27:Ultra white_super clean and quiet Free parking - breakfast available Wonderful bed A real hit in a Great ville

Review 28:The bed was uncomfortable. Wi Fe signal was poor.

Review 29:Ideally suited for restaurants and village sites. The swimming pool is perfect.

Review 30:The friendly and very helpful staff. The lovely building and ground floor room. Lots of character and comfortable.

Review 31:Location and helpful staff

Review 32:The annex, room and its distance away from the main hotel

Review 33:The swimming pool

Review 34:rooms have no personality very basic would have been difficult if the weather had been bad

Review 35:swimming pool location staff

Review 36:Close to town and restaurants, although we were not advised we were in the annexe, in fact that was better. Staff charming.

Review 37:Large, clean room with separate toilet and shower rooms. Soap, shampoo, fluffy clean towels, shoe buffing cloth, an enclosed commn patio, and hotel parking all provided. Swimming pool available. Next door to the National Museum of Prehistory.

Review 38:It is a nice little hotel right next to the Prehistoric musuem. The main street with restaurants and shops is one minute away. There is a restaurant at the hotel, but it pretty much has the same menu as all the other restaurants in the area.

Review 39:The room was very dated with old furniture old green bathroom suite and needed decorating. A big let down from the look of the outside and walking in to see the room.

Review 40:The bungalow (annex) looked lovely from outside with the pool on the front and great location.

Review 41:The price - we travelled the south of france and stayed in much nicer places for a quarter of this room price. The room is very budget. No curtains were provided in room - room had large double glass doors onto ground floor patio where other could walk past. I would not stay here again.

Review 42:The swimming pool was great. The parking was great. Staff were nice and english speaking.

Review 43:very hard to find

Review 44:the patio in the annexe was wonderful. The close location to town was great. The pool was also great as it was hot when we were there

Review 45:Our room was at the top of the hotel with a narrow stair to climb. The pool is a long way from the part of the hotel we stayed in.

Review 46:It is in a nice location with easy parking.

Review 47:Highly recommended! Would love to return!
