Reviews for Innkeeper's Lodge Lichfield

Review 1:Website stated bath or shower, we requested a bath but on arrival were told that none of the hotel rooms had a both. Also TV small!

Review 2:Very friendly professional staff, made us feel very welcome. Lovely pub, big open fire and delicious food. Good sized room with sofa and tea making facilities.

Review 3:Dinner was disappointing, previous food was exceptional, the meal we had was ok this time but not exceptional as before... Also after £75 for B and B didn't expect to have to pay extra for cooked breakfast. Shame not to have baths in the en-suite...

Review 4:Location ideal,,have stayed here before in 2013. Ate In The restaurant for dinner this was handy but disappointing. Justine served us and was very nice.

Review 5:nothing we didn't like

Review 6:Lovely building, comfortable country house style. Nice warm room, lashings of hot water, no problem parking. Best of all - the staff are really nice, warm welcome, friendly and helpful

Review 7:Breakfast was a little thin on the ground and no staff around to offer further options or replenish breakfast buffet.

Review 8:Bed was very comfy and enormous! Facilities clean and functional.

Review 9:Location and hotel was lovely. Staff were accommodating and friendly from the time we walked in to the time we left. Rooms were spacious and clean. Food served at the hotel was top quality, one of the nicest meals I've had out in a long time. Working away a lot I stay in many hotels but I could not find one fault in the room we stayed in

Review 10:The noise from the water pump which effected our sleep for the first two nights of our stay apparently the showers have improved since the new pump was fitted but even staff agreed the noise was a big distraction.

Review 11:Location was good for visiting attractions

Review 12:Breakfast supposed to be cooked to order. The sausages must have been ordered by some one else the day before?? Whole breakfast was poor quality, cold & mushroom was not cooked.

Review 13:Smart looking hotel with great staff and excellent location for what I needed. Phoned to say that I would be arriving late - 23.30 - they were very accommodating and always with a smile. Only 3 miles from the race circuit so will be staying again

Review 14:showers, very poor. Its a dribble, I have stayed at the Inn keepers lodge many times. however since you changed the bathrooms the showers are not fit for perpose. also cant get a paper in the morning :(

Review 15:Staff. the general layout of the hotel, good food and beer.

Review 16:Breakfast was a bit limited and on two days they'd run out of croissants and muffins. You could get a better breakfast if you paid extra.

Review 17:Very welcoming staff, good-sized room (huge bed) and quiet.

Review 18:room a bit tired, checking in process was very painful - i was passed from one person to another THREE times befire anyone checked us in. Very poor.

Review 19:location, setting, value for money

Review 20:On this occasion there was a little noise from the Beer Garden in the evening, but this stopped at 11:00 and so did not present any real problems.

Review 21:Although my stay was for only one night on this occasion, it was nice to see the continuing and consistent high standards are being maintained. Sometimes character wins out over chain efficiency. The staff were friendly and helpful as always.

Review 22:The one way car park was confusing at first visit.

Review 23:We arrived late afternoon to find a quiet pub, and settled in our room so our baby could get familiar with surroundings. We took our own cot by preference. Had a wonderful dinner downstairs, it was busy but great food!

Review 24:There was a problem with our meal but it was dealt with to our satisfaction.

Review 25:Although a little out of Lichfield centre, The Hedgehog had a very nice location albeit next to a busy road junction. There was ample car parking and the room was warm and cosy with windows on 2 sides and attractive views.

Review 26:not a bad experience but checking in was very slow-the staff were all too busy in the bar

Review 27:This is a delightful "non chain" hotel. All the rooms are different & very comfortable.Great food in the restaurant.Plenty of parking for our van.

Review 28:The water pressure in shower was terrible! However, we will definitely stay again.

Review 29:Easy to access from m6 toll road. Clean, big, comfy rooms. Good food, friendly staff.

Review 30:the only thing I could say negative about the hotel that the rooms were a bit tired and beds not great. But taken everything into account for the price we paid and the rest of the hotel this is a very good hotel and would definitely return.

Review 31:Staff great, food very good, nice building and very clean.

Review 32:From my room you could hear a boiler or something running most of the time, but didn't stop me sleeping.

Review 33:Good quality and choice of food. Comfortable bed.

Review 34:The evening meal was terrible. Presented very poorly. Mashed up food and was dried up. Such a shame! Was seated in an hall way with no atmosphere. Breakfast room dirty with chairs stacked around us.

Review 35:Lovely room. Warm, comfortable very clean. Friendly staff. Beautiful looking restaurant. Close to Lichfield.

Review 36:Staff wouldn't let us check in 5 minutes early and made us sit and wait in the busy pub. Sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable.

Review 37:Fabulous old building with big rooms. Staff were very friendly.

Review 38:Bad plumbing the shower was a trickle the sink blocked stayed there a couple of times in different rooms with same problem in both rooms

Review 39:Good clean comfortable rooms , staff very pleasant

Review 40:Staff here are excellent - approachable, friendly and helpful. Barman Adem is a particular star! Service good, food good and accommodation good. Have stayed here before and will stay again.

Review 41:Was ignored at reception for at least 5-10 minutes on first check in and again on more than 1 occasion. Bed was dreadfully uncomfortable (room 4).

Review 42:Food was great, room was comfortable & warm.

Review 43:When I asked for full English breakfast, but vegetarian, was at first told they don't do vegatarian, but they could just omit the meat. However later they offered to do a feta burger to replace the sausage and bacon, my partner had it and said it was lovely. Should offer a vegetarian full English though.

Review 44:Nicer room and facilities than expected. Nice helpful staff. Overall an excellent stay.

Review 45:the only thing that let it down was the shower. not powerful at all so had to hold the shower head to me as if left in the holder the water just trickled down the wall

Review 46:loved virtually everything about the room. stayed in room 4. was very spacious. continental breakfast was lovely.

Review 47:The breakfast crockery and cutlery could have been cleaner.

Review 48:I was attracted by the ample parking and free wi-fi, as well as the look of the building itself. Staff were friendly and helpful (I was there with my 11-month old), the room was warm and the bathroom was modern and clean.

Review 49:En-suite floor tiles were quite poor and loose. Grout rubbish. Fixtures and fittings however spotlessly clean and the towels super and soft! This place just needs a lick of paint here and there.

Review 50:Excellent staff, food and service. Will stay again as nothing too much trouble and food excellent. Good value for money but watch out for the full English breakfast as it is huge! A credit to the manager.

Review 51:The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food was good, breakfast could have shown a better array to include meats and cheeses. What was there, however, was good.

Review 52:Continental breakfast was poor, I think an English breakfast could have been included in the price. The room was adequate but the decor was tired. Infestation of ladybirds in bathroom , this did not bother us and was mentioned when we left. Very loud noise up until bar closed. Did not think it was value for money and have stayed in much nicer rooms for much less.

Review 53:It's a lovely location, nice atmosphere in the pub, friendly staff

Review 54:checking in a bit chaotic but the young man did carry our bags up to the room & settled us in

Review 55:good value.plenty of space to park our van.lovely room with character.food good.we had a wonderful stay

Review 56:I would definitely recommend this hotel my work takes me all over and stay in many hotels for a change this was for leisure and I would stay again here. The rooms were large, comfy and quite plus Wi-Fi very good. Staff were very helpful, bar area really good and the grounds very nice.

Review 57:The mattress on the pull out bed wasn't great but that was the only negative thing really

Review 58:lovely place to staff with a family for a night - great food too and the staff were so friendly! Especially Ried who showed us to our room and made sure we were settled.

Review 59:Originally advised 'I had the best room in the house' but it turned out this had been given to another guest. I was then given room 6 which turned out to be extremely noisy due I think to the proximity to the kitchen extractor fans ? I barely slept a wink

Review 60:We stayed in room 8 and found it noisy due to deliveries and extractors from the kitchen. The window in the room would not stay open unless we used a block of wood. The breakfast was the worst continental breakfast we have ever had. The croissants were hard and dry. There were no cheeses, meats or pastries all of which I expect as part of a continental breakfast. Until our last morning there were only lemon flavoured yogurts available and it was not even possible to have a banana despite asking daily. We feel that the hotel is very much secondary to the restaurant and if we are in the area again we would probably eat there but we would definitely not stay in the hotel

Review 61:We did eat in the restaurant on 2 occasions for an evening meal and found the food to be very enjoyable and the staff attentive and friendly.

Review 62:When approaching from the direction we came from, it was impossible to see the entrance. So had to enter by obvious 'exit' gate. Didn't matter, though

Review 63:The ease of obtaining meals, including dinner.

Review 64:The staff stayed late to run through the health and safety brief at midnight with us. The staff brought me my specs in the morning when I left them at my breakfast table. This is a high level of customer service. The building has character and the family room is large Nice touches throughout, room names and so on.

Review 65:The receptionist made us welcome but also she was so friendly and helpful. First she ensured a supply of ice for another in the party who was suffering an inflamed ankle. Secondly I was found an iron and board. All with a smile.

Review 66:Would've liked a bath in the en-suite & maybe more variety on the tea-tray. Cooked breakfast included in the price would've been good but still good value for money and good variety available on continental breakfast buffet (though it had listed 'fruit & fruit segments' on the menu and there was only a bowl of oranges.

Review 67:Great bed. Very clean and comfortable room. Very helpful, friendly staff. Good, convenient & pretty location. No noise disturbance. Reasonably priced.

Review 68:Bed really was 'standard'. No sign regarding wi-fi key. Breakfast area surrounded by stacked chairs, making you feel unwanted. Staff passing through breakfast area with vacuums.

Review 69:Semi-rural location with easy parking, yet within walking distance of town. Friendly, well-trained staff. Cask-conditioned beer on offer, and a good choice of where to sit. Good sized room. Breakfast selection, with the option of a cooked meal.

Review 70:No lift to carry heavy bags but this was not unexpected given the number of bedrooms.

Review 71:Nice friendly staff. Left fresh towels, tea, coffee, etc at door when do not disturb sign was outside.

Review 72:The comfort of the room, the history of Lichfield and how this was incorporated in to the hotel. Really enjoyed our stay, looking forward to returning. Meals were varied and great quality, we really enjoyed our meals. The buffet breakfast was also well presented the cooked breakfast had a great selection as well. Planning our return.

Review 73:No wifi despite advertising its availability. Shower was abysmal, only just possible to shower adequately. Lack of room service.

Review 74:Loved the location & the accommodation. The staff were really helpful. The food in the restaurant was also excellent.

Review 75:Excessively long waiting time for lunch. Not good with 3 young children.

Review 76:Friendly staff and great location.

Review 77:Breakfast not very good

Review 78:Bedroom and restaurant in the evening

Review 79:It was cold as heating not on, also no bath

Review 80:Loved the spacious room

Review 81:No security to rooms from restaurant. Skirting boards needed dusting.

Review 82:Warm and comfortable

Review 83:Nothing. The stay was very enjoyable.

Review 84:Very friendly and helpful staff. Good continental breakfast. Pleasant views over the grounds.

Review 85:The staff good food

Review 86:Friendly staff, good menu, good wine list

Review 87:Hot rooms, flood lights shine into rooms, uncomfortable bed.

Review 88:Pleasant decor.

Review 89:The bed was very, very uncomfortable with springs sticking out, making it extremely difficult to get any sleep.

Review 90:Bed not great and towels very small and poor quality

Review 91:Location good for our purpose.

Review 92:a ) Helpful and friendly staff b) Value for money c) Plenty of car parking

Review 93:The staff were lovely; really friendly & helpful. Food was really nice too.

Review 94:Breakfast alittle pricey as served with streaky bacon.

Review 112:The feel of the premises was nice, casual environment. Not corporate

Review 113:The staff were extremely friendly. The house and gardens were gorgeous, with a lovely atmosphere. They just need to sort wifi!

Review 114:Staff were super helpful and polite

Review 115:Cooked breakfast should've been included in the price, plus fresh fruit salad would be nice instead of a bowl of tired fruit in bowl.c

Review 116:Good location.Good food and drink. Friendly helpful staff

Review 117:Bar prices £10 for a small wine + pint of beer extortionate

Review 118:Staff
