Reviews for Swinfen Hall Hotel

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:The staff were very friendly and very professional. A four star hotel which should be a five star. In particular James was a treasure and should be promoted for his great customer service and positive attitude.

Review 3:Internet very slow ....It is the area though not the Hotel's fault .. No double glazing

Review 4:The Chef is an excellent Chef ..and the "Taster Menu" is definitely worth trying ... I think a visit to the customers might be an idea by him ...to promote both himself and his food

Review 5:I liked that I was greeted in the car park and the gentleman how carried my case. The evening meal was outstanding, I've never been so impressed with an hotel. Room was outstanding. All staff were very professional and I felt like royalty.

Review 6:From the time I drove up the drive to the service through out my stay was outstanding.

Review 7:Only that it is noisy outside from the M6 toll

Review 8:Lovely 1700's built stately home. Wonderfully redone to original standards. A pleasant walk around the land (a deer farm). Location is easy to find near to M6 toll.

Review 9:Leaving!!!

Review 10:From the moment we arrived we knew we were somewhere special. The staff were the friendliest and most helpful one can imagine, the ambience was beautiful and the food superb. The hotel even has its own deer park. The owners have clearly made it a labour of love to create a glittering jewel in the Staffordshire countryside.

Review 11:The WiFi is painfully slow!

Review 12:This is the second time I have stayed in the last year and it remains just as good. Great service, great staff, great food and a relaxing atmosphere. The house and grounds are beautiful.

Review 13:Hot & cold water taps were the wrong way around!. No lift

Review 14:Very friendly but not over bearing staff. Excellent food, very clean, period architecture maintained within lovely grounds

Review 15:Cleanliness. Doors & accessories in bedroom need a good clean. Hotel including smelled musty. The hotel is old & in need of investment & updating.

Review 16:Location

Review 17:No bad experience but the food was either high end but every nice, or bar meal, would have liked more middle of the road meals to eat in the restaurant.

Review 18:I liked every thing. The staff were attentive, nothing too much trouble. The service was excellent. The cleanliness was 1st class.

Review 19:Hoovering between 07:30 and 08:00 on a Saturday morning? Not quite the sleep in hoped for.

Review 20:Food, was excellent, staff were lovely. Room very comfortable.

Review 21:We couldn't get the wi fi password to work.

Review 22:The hotel is beautiful, staying in a luxury stately home. They had complimentary shortbread and apples by the bed as well as the usual tea and coffee. Our room was sheer luxury, beautiful views and special toiletries. Dinner was excellent with individual waitress service. We enjoyed walking in the parklands and we were allowed to feed the deer. We are definitely looking forward to a return visit.

Review 23:Swinfell Hall was a random choice as it was close to the National Memorial Arboretum where we were visiting. It met all the expectations of the hotel website and delivered especially on the comfort, food quality and service. You get what you pay for.

Review 24:No skirt hangers in wardrobes. Gorgeous white lilies everywhere but the smell as they all opened up was so overpowering we were unable to use the lounge on our last evening.

Review 25:Sheer luxury, comfortable room with views over the deer park and to the lake, peaceful and relaxing. Large rooms, top quality furnishings and fabrics, and wonderful service. Excellent food locally sourced fresh ingredients an absolute treat. Fabulous grounds to explore, peaceful surroundings with buzzards and other wildlife for company. This was an expensive break but worth every penny, hope to do it again sometime.

Review 27:The grounds, the village next door everything it's hard to fault, the staff can't do enough, the building itself we loved everything!

Review 28:The staff were fantastic - friendly and attentive. The food was great (I'm one of those new-age foodies so quite particular!). Great wine list (not just Diageo long-life from the new world!). Super grounds and view. A relaxing atmosphere and the building is lovely. I shall return!

Review 32:We had a wonderful stay at Swinfen Hall. The staff were friendly, welcoming and went out of their way to help us. We have 2 very young babies and chef made them food even though the kitchen didn't open until 7.

Review 33:Slightly awkward location as on one side of a dual carriageway. If you want to go north you have to go down to the next roundabout and turn around.

Review 75:Whilst staff were very friendly there was only a skeleton crew on due to hotel being very quiet. There was a lack of atmosphere as we stayed on a Sunday night & hotel virtually empty.

Review 77:Food wasn't the best 1st bottle of wine served was corked and the 2nd too cold

Review 78:Room was very comfortable Service very good - friendly staff Beautiful house with stunning views

Review 80:Beautiful location and building. Staff were very helpful and approachable. Room was spacious, well-decorated and warm - unusual for these big old houses!

Review 81:Front desk could be a little more welcoming and organised on arrival. Probably need to update the decor and furniture in main bar as is now becoming very tired.

Review 92:The building and decoration. The Terrace and view. The rooms. The very friendly staff. The food was superb. You never felt anything was too much trouble from the staff.

Review 93:Patience Swinford room: internet speed was slow. "King size bed" advertised was in the end made up of 2 singles put together. Mattresses soft? Mini bar fridge in room would be nice feature.

Review 94:Peace & quiet, tranquil surroundings, freedom to look & walk around. Polite, pleasant staff. Lovely views from bedroom. Seeing original features still intact - windows, old heating radiators, staff call buttons etc.

Review 95:A old country house in large grounds close to Lichfield Hotel offers first class rooms with staff to match You feel you are at someones house as all staff are helpful and somehow know what room you are in so never ask your room number to charge things to or even ask you to sign a bill
