Reviews for Virginia Court Hotel

Review 1:We were there off season yet the price for a room for 1 night at £140 seemed steep. Staying for 2 nights would have been enough for a holiday abroad. Either way....I would stay here again if the price was right.

Review 2:The lady at reception was very welcoming and after asking whether we had stayed there before, we were shown and given a map of the surrounding area. Helpful and friendly. The room was great. Nothing bad to say at all. Breakfast was nice.

Review 3:Our tv didn't work. We only stayed one night, for a wedding, so it didn't cause us too much consternation and we advised the staff when we left. Breakfast finished at 10am at the weekend... felt too early!!!

Review 4:Really nice friendly staff, nice relaxed bar, homemade jams and marmalades at breakfast. A great find, close to the centre of Cromer and to the sea.

Review 5:Dinner menu could have more of a wow vactor and serve the befs separate from the main item- it was all dumped together. Decor looks tired

Review 6:location, parking, comfortable lounge, friendle reception. Food value

Review 7:The standard boulle bed was a bit small for us (two tall adults). We saw several cobwebs hanging from the bedroom ceiling.

Review 8:The breakfast was brilliant. The decor was modern and comfortable.

Review 9:Bathroom very disappointing. No soap. Very average toiletries generally with nothing to put into the bath water .had to use the small tube of body wash for our hands! Needed updating, couldn't see in the tiny high up mirror.

Review 10:Quiet and friendly

Review 11:Early morning delivery was noisy but it will be addressed by the owners as it is not a usual thing to happen

Review 12:We have stayed before and have returned as we find it is excellent and they make you very welcome.

Review 13:Evening meals were OK but use of frozen potatoes not good which detracted from the good quality of the meat and fish.

Review 14:Location was very good and I was able to get to main street and beach very quickly. Staff friendly and service was excellent. Bedroom and bathroom clean. Single room good size which can be a problem in some hotels.

Review 15:Friendly but not intrusive staff, lovely decor, really nice feeling about the hotel, and good location as only 5 minutes walk to the front. Room clean and comfortable. Food very good.

Review 16:In hot weather there should be choice of bed covering, Not a thick duvet. Water dangerously hot in wash basin Towel rail also dangerously hot all the time ( Discussed with management)

Review 17:Location of Hotel Friendliness of staff, always approchable

Review 18:stairs with no lift we are motability challenged and getting to the room was stressfull

Review 19:cklean pleasant small hotel, good food and very helpfull staff

Review 20:The only thing I didn't like was the shower base caulking was mouldy and needed replacing.

Review 21:Relaxed, comfortable, safe environment for woman travelling on her own. I felt well attended. Owners were charming, room was very comfortable as was the bed. Food was excellent and I liked the way the building has been renovated.

Review 22:The stay was not long enough!

Review 23:Everything was excellent. We felt thoroughly at home and completely relaxed. Staff could not do enough to help. We will visit again without a doubt.

Review 24:it was a bit of a shock to have the £70 commission fee added. Their own tariff didn't add up but they happily explained why.and I thought I had booked a double it turned out to be a King, dearer of course.

Review 25:Staff were really friendly and helpful. No problem with my Wheat-free dietary needs.

Review 26:No clock or radio in room and although the bar area was very pleasant not exactly atmospheric. The grounds could of been better kept but by no means bad

Review 27:Immaculate suite, bath and shower easy parking and small enough to be friendly and personable staff

Review 28:Hardly a complaint, but the other guests were in their later years, my wife and I (in our 40's) would have preferred the bar to be a bit more 'happening' but this hotel is the PERFECT base to go into Cromer and it's nightlife.

Review 29:A very quiet, relaxed and spotlessly clean hotel just a 2 or 3 minute walk from the town and or beach. The staff were friendly but not over top, the perfect blend of customer service without swamping you.

Review 30:Virginia Court is perfectly maintained the b/rooms are very clean although the one we stayed in was small. The staff are excellent and the breakfast was great.

Review 31:We stayed 3 nights and the first two breakfasts we had to tell the staff what cereals and fruit juice we wanted. The third morning it was there for us to help ourselves which we prefer to do

Review 32:The hotel was very nice and the staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant

Review 33:Nothing

Review 34:Couldn't find anything to fault this hotel. Was a calm and stressfree stay and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be staying here again!

Review 35:Gods waiting room, gloomy atmosphere, generally dull. And this is from someone trying to celebrate our golden wedding.Would make a suitable nursing home

Review 36:location

Review 37:some small decorating updates were needed such as scuffed walls, spots on carpets, unfilled screw holes and lifting wallpaper. This was disappointing given the room rate. That said, the place was spotless.

Review 38:location most comfortable bed proper blackout curtains great breakfast and dinner the ladies on the staff

Review 39:TV in room had poor sound quality and image break-up at times. Signal is very weak in the Cromer area.

Review 40:Food was well prepared, served quickly and excellent taste. Norfolk breakfast was fantastic and evening meals the same. Dining room staff were superb.

Review 41:I asked for orange juice with my main meal & was told they had run out. The couple next to us had orange juice which she got from the bar, waitress could not be bothered to get us any. People in the adjoining room very noisey which disterbed our sleep.room had damp & a lot of condensation on the windows, electrical cables trailing around the room not very safe.

Review 42:Location is good, people very friendly.

Review 43:Limited options for evening menu when Cromer Crab was unavailable due to bad weather.

Review 44:Spacious, Modern, Comfortable Room, Relaxing Lounge and Bar, Sumptuous Breakfast, Helpful, Friendly Smiling Staff, Food available all day including packed lunches for days out.

Review 45:We particularly liked how friendly the staff were both front of house and behind the scenes. There were a few special touches that made our stay extra special and very memorable. We were made to feel very welcome and were extremely impressed with the food for both breakfast and at Dinner in the evening. We would definitely recommend this Hotel and will return next year for our wedding anniversary.

Review 46:food at evening meal - 'tired'and despite offering local specialities, not as good value for money ,as other restaurants experienced, charging similar prices, in other parts of the country.

Review 47:outstanding location quality of room and cleanliness excellent breakfast

Review 48:Only one tiny improvement I'd like to suggest is the addition of conditioner in the shower. I think most women "need" it nowadays. Fortunately I had a small one with me and ran down to my daughter's room with it when she called me!

Review 49:We all felt very relaxed here. Felt like a real holiday (albeit short!) due to the comfort, cleanliness and tasteful design throughout. Also appreciated the quiet location and delicious breakfast with great options. Staff were also very pleasant and helpful even after check out time ie. looking after our baggage etc.

Review 50:Nothing did not like to be honest

Review 51:Welcome to hotel, friendliness of team, clean room, excellent shower, very good food, use of local produce. Lovely beds and linen . Relaxing lounge area .

Review 52:Our only niggle was that our room was situated over the kitchen and with the window open, it was noisy until late on the first night.

Review 53:Easy walking distance to town & beach. Immaculate, well appointed room & en-suite. Excellent food and service. Would definitely stay again.

Review 54:Nothing to dislike.

Review 55:Everything and everybody. The Welcome. The Service. The Quality of the meals. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Highly recommended.

Review 56:Our room was slightly too small, but accommodating, the WiFi didn't reach our room!! even thou we had two areas to connect!! - The room was clean but clearly hadn't been occupied for a while as there were 'dust spiders' on the towels and in the bath - value for money - not really - should have been a lot cheaper for the size -

Review 57:The location was great due to business and for a family visit, the walks were nice and the local pubs were good, all very helpful, the hotel breakfast was ample but if you have a good appieitate then you may be disappointed with the hot dishes - stock up on cereal - the best restaurant locally five minutes walk from the hotel is the Thai Restaurant by the traffic lights, Norwich Road, - great value for money, nice dishes, cooked to your preference and the staff very pleasant.

Review 58:The ratings in Item 2 above are influenced by the following comments: Small single bedroom cramped and sparsely furnished. Continuous Pop Musak played in the hotel public rooms, including the dining room! I wanted to have dinner but couldn't stand the Musak. If there has to be Musak surely it should be gentle and calming to help the digestion and not thumping Pop 'music'? I walked out and dined in town. The Pop Musak was still playing during breakfast! The guests were all elderly but the staff were young. Presumably the Musak was chosen by the staff to suit their own taste, rather than to consider the guests' comfort. Thinking now about my visit, I am little concerned about the bedroom ceiling, it looked as though it might have been treated with Artex (it used to contain asbestos).

Review 59:Clean bedroom and bathroom. Clean and tidy hotel which has a bar and restaurant. Good, quiet, location. Hotel has an inviting appearance.

Review 60:No air conditioning or fan in room that had been exposed to the afternoon sun - Very difficult to sleep.

Review 61:Location - within walking distance of shops, seafront and pier.

Review 62:Height of step between landing and my corridor was too high for elderly guests, and even I at 63 could have wished for easier conditions.

Review 63:Pleasant architecture, most forthcoming staff, excellent breakfast. Most welcome writing desk in room. Very comfortable bed. Big bathroom.

Review 64:Friendly and away ready to help, made to feel at home .
