Reviews for Trinity Hotel
Review 1:Uninviting public spaces, cold. Cheaply fitted out and maintained. Smelly bathroom with questionable looking fluffy shower mat, toilet pedestal mat???? in this day and age. Stained towels first night. TV reception poor (Freeview only). Plenty of parking adjacent.
Review 2:Warm, given the freezing temps, friendly staff, good breakfast. Ideal location for working docks or Saltend. Free Internet.
Review 3:Found the staff very plesent and friendly , going out there way to help. I also like the location of hotel as its situated close to where my family live so don't have to travel far .
Review 4:No bar, bedding grubby and no protective bedding under sheets/pillow slips.got back evening and several drunk guests sprawled on outside path and vomiting, police arrived and arrested one.noise continued till early hours.bed was horrible, smelly and lumpy
Review 5:Shower was adequate
Review 6:window would not open in room and toilet would not flush but after complaint was promptly moved to a much larger room
Review 7:friendly staff especially during the day
Review 8:The hotel is quite far from town centre. There is some traffic noise due to close proximity of busy main road.
Review 9:The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a good bar with a pool table. The food is good and there is an extensive menu. Good car parking and fast wifi. Overall very good value for money.
Review 10:Hotel needs a refurbishment. The movement sensitive lights in the bathroom were very annoying. We had to constantly wave our arms about to keep the lights on. For its location and comfort level the hotel is a little expensive.
Review 11:Staff were friendly and helpfull. Beds comfortable. Room clean.
Review 12:I would never stay here again! Where to begin....no heating, dirty rooms, stained towels, light in bathroom not working, mattress did not even fit the bed, was not able to use the bathroom as the smell from the drains was foul....even the floor wasn't level! We were not advised when we checked in that there was no heating and they took the full payment! 3 rooms later we had to admit defeat! We have stayed in nearly all the hotels in Hull and whilst it was cheap it was the same prices as premier inn, ibis etc and at least there you know its clean and warm! Beyond disappointed!
Review 13:To be honest the only thing I liked about this hotel was that my friend got married!
Review 14:Filthy bathroom ,broken shower and shower head , lose tiles eveywnere ,lose plinths , rude receptionist when checked in and the morning after.Noisy noisy rooms, half broken windows , what else really ? Worst"hotel" if you could call that a hotel.
Review 15:Nothing
Review 16:Some construction work going on in the hotel, the noise is so bad ! Wanted to extend my stay and was told at reception it would now cost 45 pound a night not the original 32 pound that I paid per night for 5 nights.
Review 17:Shower in room 116 didnt run very warm it says you had to run both sink taps and still was no good also bed was creaky and windows let too much cold through even when shut
Review 18:Staff were friendly
Review 19:Room very poor condition. Décor old and tired. Shelf over sink at angle and could not use. General condition of hotel very poor and not particularly clean. Breakfast offering very minimal.
Review 20:Location good for where I needed to be. Staff friendly and helpful
Review 21:They offered a room for four and we found a double bed and a single bed. Where is going to sleep the fourth? They Said They didn't have any larger room but still commercialise room for four people. Do not understand
Review 22:The blanket my 8 month old was given at the bottom of the travel cot they provided was dirty, it had food on it and it didn't smell nice. There was dust everywhere, the towels had hair on them, one even had a big clump of dust on it. The shower was horrendous you had to turn the taps on the sink just to get hot water. Just horrible.
Review 23:Breakfast took 1 1/4 hours to come after ordering. The bed in one room was squeaky and uncomfortable. Z bed had pieces of wood missing which needed sorting by my partner in order for it to be used. Tap in bathroom did not turn off fully Floors were very thin so could hear the room above. No managers were available at any time when needed.
Review 24:location
Review 25:Ate in the American Diner and items were missing from both our meals. Money was deducted but not the point, it shouldn't have happened. Breakfast was ropey and they ran out of bacon at 8.30am!
Review 26:Large car park. Helpful and friendly staff
Review 27:arrived Sat midday reported light gone in bath room @ 6.20pm, was told it would be repaired that evening, reported again Sun AM, Sun PM not repaired at all, no toilet roll or T-bags replaced when room was cleaned on sunday, Breakfast on both days was disscusting and not fit to eat, cutlery was stained - not dried after washing, cerial bowls & cups chipped, flies in dining area, only cereal weetabix, had to wait over an hour to be served, no food offered on evening as there was a wedding on! No management to complain to, only 1 member of staff to cover Reception, taking & delivering breakfast orders, finding cups, glasses, milk & juice, dealing with complaints.
Review 28:The room was clean and spacious, the staff that were available were pleasant under trying and difficult circumstances.
Review 29:Light in bathroom didn't work Smell in bathroom breakfast on Saturday nothing available (9.00), no chef on sunday never a 3 star more like 1
Review 30:Staff were very helpful
Review 31:Overnight stay with grand children, family room, room was on the front of the hotel, very noisy, still awake at 12.30am, then got woke up at 5am, night caretaker, letting in a guest worker, chewing gum on the carpet in the room, which had been there ages was black, carpet stained, ordered a meal in the room, ordered the Burger meal, which included a burger in a bun, crispy salad, bacon, onion rings and chips, Burger was only warm, the bun was old and dry, no bacon, no onion rings, and the chips the chef, smothered them in salt, the children could not eat them, also ordered Treacle tart, with a generous scoop of ice cream, came with two squirts of squirty cream, told the waiter wanted ice cream for the children, which he did bring to the room, and breakfast, well we waited 40 minutes, even though we were the first in the dining room, and it was inedible, the dining room was not very clean, my shoes were sticking to the floor, the table next to us was dirty, and the cup I got had a big chip in it, wont be using this hotel again, bathroom towels even though they were clean stank of grease, cheap enough at £87 for 2 adults 2 children, but very basic, and dirty, pictures show the eggs we were given at breakfast, the black chewing gum on our room floor, and the inside bottoms of the bedroom curtains
Review 32:Staff were polite, and helpful
Review 33:Staff very friendly and looked after us well.Nice bedrooms. Lots of hot water for the showers. Breakfast was good too. Don't expect 5* luxury in the bedroom or food dept as you aren't paying 5* prices, but it was a good base for us as we were meeting up with family in the area.
Review 34:Sound proofing wasnt the best but not a prob for me and my son but it did bother my wife a little bit
Review 35:Every single member of staff were excellent, We paid £84 for two nights, so it is a cheap hotel, but it is clean and comfortable, and that was all we really wanted. We got so much more.
Review 36:The reception staff took ages to greet us. The bed was the worst bed I've ever slept on - so uncomfortable and small for 2 people. The curtains barely served a purpose and let in so much light that I couldn't sleep. When we came back later on in the evening we waved at the window and the night porter acknowledged us but wouldn't let us in until we phoned the hotel which was ridiculous! In the description also the hotel is noted to be closed to the KC Lightstream stadium when in fact it is a 1 hour walk!
Review 37:the room was a good size and the shower was nice
Review 38:when we arrived it was very noisy people were stamping and banging outside the rooms at 3 am loud music was playing till the early hours and a lot of shouting and screaming was heard hence no sleep.the bathroom had no soap the towels were hard breakfast was awful dirty cups badly stained ran out of water for tea and orange juice and the supposedly cooked breakfast was cooked in rancid fat a cat wouldn't have ate it.
Review 39:nothing too say !!!!!!
Review 40:We booked 2 double rooms . 1 which I asked for an extra bed to be put in as 3 kids were travelling with us . This didn't happen so kids all shared the double bed!!!! Showers didn't work properly but if showers heads had a good clean and mould taken off then am sure they would work better ... Beds weren't comfy. Rooms were clean on surface but could defo been doing with a good scrub. I work in hotel industry and plug in air freshener is not a good sign if the room was cleaned to a high standard there would be no need for this . Was going to stay an extra night but decided against it after seeing our rooms . Overall I would not use this hotel again
Review 41:Shower wasn't great not very powerful, carvery wasn't very nice (stuffing couldn't cut into it and roast potatoes fatty)
Review 42:Staff were amaZing made you feel welcome Located my lost camera thabkyou!!! Perfect spot as well not a bad walk to some shops
Review 43:the bin in bathroom had not been emptied the bed had not been changed the whole place smelt of wee the tiles in floor were smashed and I did cut my toe the room was thick of dust
Review 44:LEAVING
Review 45:dirty cups in the room dripping water and falling off the tap over the sink, dirty towels, creaking bed, very poor breakfast, dirty cups and cutlery served for breakfast.
Review 46:spacious room, free car park
Review 47:Noisy (all doors slam), heard multiple voices late on & early doors, fair walk from centre, hole in wall where bathroom door open, noisy bed
Review 48:Check in 24 hours so suited timetable & reliable wifi
Review 49:Ok, so the room was a little on the dated side...(the bed creaked a bit)...but for what I paid, it's certainly not a gripe about the hotel in general! I was happily pleased in all so a creaky bed isn't exactly the end of the world!
Review 50:The staff were amazingly friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and the hotel is value for money. It's not the Ritz, but then I didn't pay for the Ritz! The bed was comfortable. I was warned by the receptionist that there was a party that night in the function area, but this finished at a reasonable time and did not affect my sleep. I would certainly stay there again!
Review 51:No lift, had to lug my cases up 6 flights of stairs, unaided, and then down again in the morning. Phone in room did not work. Food was revolting, "deep fried" everything. Staff were pleasant, but were bar staff, not hotel staff. very noisy; rough clientele banging doors, talking loudly all night. felt very uncomfortable/unsafe as a woman travelling on my own, unlike in other Hotels in Hull.
Review 52:free wifi
Review 53:The menu was limited, not every thing was available. I was woken at 1.30am by loud music. When I dressed and complained, it was turned down. At 2.30am I was woken again by young women clattering up and down the corridor and calling. The 8.0am early call I asked for did not happen and I overslept 'till 8.20am leaving me no time for breakfast and almost making me late.
Review 54:The cost. the close proximity to my appointment.
Review 55:Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good (Only ate breakfast here). Room was basically furnished but clean and the WiFi worked well. Free parking right outside the door.
Review 56:The room was dirty, the towels stank of smelly feet and were ripped, the shower gel bottle was half full, the mattress was awful with springs sticking out and the incessant traffic prevented me from sleeping.
Review 57:the wifi connection was good and the staff was polite (but that's only to be expected)
Review 58:The bed was awful. It creaked every time you moved & the mattress had springs sticking out which dug into you. The window sills were loose which caused me to fall and twist my ankle when I tried to open the window which was very high up!
Review 59:Design of the room was nice & the location was good for what we wanted (however it is on a noisy road).
Review 60:Window wouldn't close properly & both taps trickled all the time so I considered this to be a waste of water
Review 61:Near to venue for the reason for my visit
Review 62:The bed was very uncomfortable, the mattress had so many springs poking through I would have been better on the floor (No exaggeration)... The curtains were not lined and the bed was next to a window with fast moving traffic so I was awoken by the light and traffic early and not able to get back to sleep.
Review 63:The Breakfast was lovely, the staff were friendly, the price was right, Bathroom clean and modern.
Review 64:My room was on the main road, so there was quite a bit of traffic noise - take ear plugs! The TV didnt work and the loud fan in the bathroom stayed on for 20 mins after closing the door - a bit annoying at 3am!
Review 65:The staff were very friendly. The location is fine - 2miles from town centre (although its a walk through an industrial estate, so I wouldn't advise walking it alone)
Review 66:Brian Brooke and the rest of the staff are very accomodating. Their service is 200% and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. I stayed over on mothers day and had a meal with my sons where the food was excellent and mothers received gifts. I would and have recommended the trinity hotel.
Review 67:Was a bit out of town and the wait for taxi's was awful considering the size of Hull but that has nothing to do with the hotel..........
Review 68:The layout, the rooms were spacious and in good repais, very big rooms and the bathrooms were clean and modern, wifi great even in the rooms. Breakfast was lovely.
Review 69:They messed up booking, small nails all over our room floor, showers not work properly, took 2 days to clean dinning room for Valentine's meal so had to eat off tables no higher than my knee, staff not very helpful, would not recommend to anyone
Review 70:5 min drive to town, was always warm
Review 71:Radiator on the wall did not work and a Oil heater was supplied, although this was still a little small for the size of the room. I am sure it would have been adequate for the regular Double size rooms.
Review 72:Booked 2 rooms (1 Executive & 1 Double). All rooms were well furnished and clean. Beds were comfortable and had all the facilities a Hotel should have. Downstairs had a lounge area with a 24/7 Bar and a Pool table making it a great place to relax
Review 73:Couldn't get into my own room on second night, staff couldn't get in with a master key. Put me in another room for the night, made dumb remarks about the whole situation, room disgusting and shower broken. Didn't even apologize for their ignorance.
Review 74:Bathroom clean in first room.....broken in the second.
Review 75:Where to start the shower was rubbish and cant explain how cold it was me my partner slept in are 4 pears of clothes just to be warm door was screwed to handle near falling off and had to really slam the door for it to close up wouldnt go again
Review 76:Looked smart tidy place
Review 77:No hot for 2 mornings. Tried running the taplease in basin which worked until someone else turned on their tap. Water then became very cold this needs to be resolved. Also visitors were very loud especially when late at night there needs to be a sign asking to be quiet.
Review 78:The staff were very friendly and helpful
Review 79:It is not disability friendly perhaps a stair lift would make it easier for some people. Shower needs to be up dated ., with nice warm water.
Review 80:The location was very good
Review 81:Noise of the traffic was invasive, and the surroundings industrial.
Review 82:The staff were fantastic, the facilities basic but serviceable, and the room was spacious and comfortable.
Review 83:On the night we stayed there was a wedding reception going right underneath our bedroom, so a bit noisy, didn't like the flavour of the teabags.
Review 84:The room was comfortable , the showers were lovely, we stayed for one night, good vale for money.
Review 85:Bit noisy outside front bedrooms but understandable due to wedding party
Review 86:Staff very friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble and went out of their way to satisfy. Had baby as well as older children all looked after well.
Review 87:Only faults were there was a faulty tap and a complaint form the Mrs no shampoo or conditioner she also said maybe a dressing gown would be a nice touch
Review 88:Bed was very cosy and room very spacious
Review 89:Booked a family room. two adults, two children. On arrival to room was only three beds !!!. the double bed linen was soiled and creased indicating the bed had not been changed !!!. First impressions very poor therefore would not return.
Review 90:Bathroom was clean Staff did change the linen when asked and provided zed bed.
Review 91:kitchen closed at 8.45 manageress not very helpful doors were closing very quickly and making loud noises did not look like web picture so felt a bit cheated
Review 92:pool table friendly staff good breakfast value for money once the refurbishment is done, it will be a nice hotel.
Review 93:Dont leave it til the last minute with breakfast as it was a bit sparce by the time we went
Review 94:Friendly staff, helpful too. Quiet. Only £4 for a taxi to the centre of town. It is what it is, we paid £80 for 4 of us to stay over the saturday of Freedom festival weekend, it served its purpose of a clean bed and shower. Don't go expecting premier inn or travel lodge because its not that but uf your looking for a basic one night stay you have foubd it at Trinity.
Review 95:room not cleaned on arrival. shower cubicle in need of repair. no hot water for shower. hairs on windowsill also paint chipped off. dirty carpet. linen Un ironed . no milk for tea or coffee. no signal on TV. breakfast table not cleaned or reset. poor quality breakfast
Review 96:Tv didnt work it was small big bk tv with no dvd player and freeview didnt even work..... The key card wouldnt work at first had to go to reception 3times before they finally got it sorted out
Review 97:Bathroom
Review 98:This is a lovely hotel! The staff are very friendly and helpful! We had accidentally booked the wrong night and they made no fuss in rearranging! The room was clean and welcoming and the bathroom was also very modern and clean! We were right at the back of the hotel and facing onto the main road, which when we had the window open you could hear the cars but that never bothered us! Overall, we were very impressed with the hotel and staff, I would recommend East Park as we were there for a car show on the Sunday and it has a lovely boating lake too. The hotel is not far from there and only a twenty minute walk, plus you really can't go wrong with a six minute drive from The Deep! We had a fantastic stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone! The full English included in the price was also delicious!
Review 99:Breakfast served until 0900hrs would prefer later finish say 1000hrs.
Review 100:Basic accommodation good value clean and spacious. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 101:room let to a busy road, heavy traffic starts early in the morning Water tap did not close
Review 102:spacious and clean room with nice interior staff very helpful, but not very well trained situated close to the port- ideal for a stopover in Hull after arrival, but city centre is not in walking distance
Review 103:our room was on the main road beside a motorway the windows were drafty and the room was freezing cold the noise was terrable and after 3 nights i was tired and full of cold we had to ask every day for towels and our room card stopped working everytime we left the room and tried to re-enter
Review 104:the place was clean-ish and was not too bad how ever i would not stary here again it was not a nice experience the staff were friendly
Review 105:The food was disgusting. The room wad a sham. The staff walking around in slippers. The staffroom upstairs smelt of wacky backy drugs. The staff was unpleasant and unfriendly.. they checked us into our room anf gave us the key and when we got to our room it was still unyidy from the night before from the previous people so we wnt down stairs and told the staff and we had to wait an hour for our room to be cleaned and they was nore interested in talking with each other from the night before and there hangovers then getting our room cleaned. We wasnt even offered a complimentary drink for our troubles.. disgusting and would never go there again..
Review 106:Shabby furniture and fittings, noisy at night, poor facilities, no soap provided, lights didn't work properly, located miles from anywhere...
Review 107:Staff reasonably helpful, breakfast was quite good
Review 108:The bed hadn't been changed although I was initially told it had been. A helpful staff member did change the sheets when I showed him thay hadn't. The shower wasn't clean it had old soap and a razor left in the cubicle and hairs in the shower tray. The bathroom floor tiles were loose, cracked and sharp. The breakfast was over cooked and not worth £5. It was cheap and I could see why, I have no problem with location or tired decor but basic maintenance and cleanliness are essential. This place failed on both.
Review 109:Secure car parking. The staff I met were very pleasant and helpful but a quality establishment it isn't.
Review 110:Rooms very basic walls radiators dirty. Furniture seen much better days. Carpets stained. Chipped cups kettle full of limscale. Beetles crawling on dressing table in the morning
Review 111:Location. Breakfast ok
Review 112:Food was horrible was pink inside the steak far to pricey then went to the room to find light fitting out and a fitting on wall hanging then the bedding wasn't clean smelt of sex and to top it off there was a wedding a lot of drunks who was fighting till 4 In the morning. When I complained they never once offered a refund which would av at least been nice to say the least. Won't be staying again!!
Review 113:Nothing really
Review 114:The noise of slamming doors on our floor on Friday night which went on until 5.00 a.m. due to a wedding reception. No fridge ( which would have been a bonus ). Stained pillows.
Review 115:The helpful staff and prompt service and facilities. Breakfast was very good and plentiful.
Review 116:Food wasn't very good. A lot of items unavailable and what we did get was poor. Cheap meat, cheap cheese slices and wasn't hot/warm. The cleanliness was also poor, both in the room and downstairs bar area.
Review 117:The price was ok. Would definitely not be worth anymore that £40 for a double room though.
Review 118:Only booked this hotel because of the bed being described as extra large, was in fact a standard double and as me and my partner aren't the smallest of people we had a very uncomfortable night,my partner ended up spending some of the night on the floor!!we don't like to make a fuss so let it go. Then to top it off,we were told when we checked in that breakfast was from 8am to 10am,we went to reception at 9.20am to find out where to go,went to sit down where we waited with another table of about 8,there were 2 lots of cereal and a few tea bags but no milk, waited for 20 mins then asked at reception whether we had to order, then to be told that breakfast finished at 9.30!!!!we did get a refund of £10 cash but this didn't quite buy us a cooked breakfast somewhere else!!when booking a hotel you expect to get exactly what is described,we will be requesting a full refund although won't hold our breaths!!
Review 119:Spacious room Clean Refitted bath/shower room
Review 120:central heating not working. no soap/toiletries dining area cold.
Review 121:easy parking. good breakfast
Review 122:Room on main road with lights and very noisy traffic all night. Also no licence to sell alcohol.
Review 123:Staff friendly,food good
Review 124:everything
Review 125:No card reader, cash only, no alcohol on sale, has the feel of a hotel on it's last legs,
Review 126:Staff friendly and helpful.
Review 127:all good
Review 128:easy no fuss
Review 129:Bar area was very cold sadly
Review 130:Room was very nice and definitely value for money. Free view in the room good (after I really tuned it)
Review 131:Only criticism would-be to improve ventilation from kitchen, smell carried up the stairs.
Review 132:Room was a good size, all as expected when we booked in.
Review 133:The room horrid smell wasn't big enough for 4 people the spare camp bed came with mucky bedding the lights didn't work
Review 134:Staff friendly
Review 135:none
Review 136:It was clean and the food was good the staff were helpful
Review 137:Not informed of seperate charge for breakfast, cant even give option of continental with the charge
