Reviews for Hotel Select

Review 1:The new foam pillows were very uncomfortable.

Review 2:The help provided by the staff as I was arriving late. The location, close to the railway station and restaurant area. The excellent breakfast.

Review 3:The Hotel Manager made our short stay very enjoyable and we were delighted to receive a free upgrade. Very accommodating with our request for a nice view.

Review 4:No lift and the top floor is a tough walk, for us anyway pheww!!!

Review 5:Hotel very clean and in a great location, 2 min walk from the train station, only 3 stops to Monte Carlo and nice. Lovely little cove to sunbath 10 mins walk directly across the road from the casino which is fab!! Drinks very expensive though. Would defo recommend this hotel.

Review 6:The shower head was faulty...it was difficult to adjust for a shower.

Review 7:Helpful staff, location, nice coffee and breakfast, very comfortable beds, good wifi connection. The air conditioning was very good.

Review 8:We chose a bedroom looking out onto a closed indoor area as it was €20 cheaper per night. . I would pay the extra for a room with an outside window if I go again. It's a pity there is not a room with chairs near the foyer for guests to use if weather poor.

Review 9:The convenient location to train station and local shops and cafes. A short walk to beach. The friendliness of the staff was always a pleasure and the breakfast was good value.

Review 10:Check in closes at 8pm. We were emailed entry instructions which worked fine but when you are late and tired someone behind the desk would be better

Review 11:Very small hotel but everything you need. Nice outlook on a market square. Lovely breakfast. Comfy room. Friendly and efficient staff.

Review 12:Minor problem with initial room but this was quickly rectified.

Review 13:Delightfully friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast with convenient timing. Located perfectly.

Review 14:Hated having to leave after 1 night!!

Review 15:Location was perfect. Friday nights there is a live band in the square literally outside. No worries about late night noise as it finishes at 10 and people go home. Saturday mornings the same square has a wonderful market. The hotel was clean and the girl at the front desk was lovely, very friendly and attentive. Would definitely stay here again!!

Review 16:The only problem was the air conditioner that was not possible to contrl from the room

Review 17:The owners were very kind and the situation was good. The price was also very good. Breakfast with some home made products was also another good point

Review 18:We had economy room. It was room with nasty view into the block of building, when was unpleasant smell from the sewer. Never more this room !

Review 19:location of accommodation, the room was clean

Review 20:Liked everything about this little gem of a find! and the was Amazing, my girlfriend was pregnant and not feeling to well and the owner was very caring and helpful

Review 21:Wonderful stay! Great location close to station and promenade walk to St. Jean Cap Ferrat. Staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating, upgraded our room because they knew it was our honeymoon! Super clean, modern & chic decor.

Review 22:The economic rooms are not as good oriented, as they have no view and is a little noise from the cars if you let the windows open. There is no elevator, but the lady from the recepțion help us with the luggages even if we said there is no need :).. Anyway, it is a good value for money for the that region.

Review 23:The hotel is located in the centre, close to the train or bus station and supermarket. The lady from the reception desk is nice and helpful. It is clean and the air conditioning works very good.

Review 24:Beaulieu has two distinct parts, the "Belle Epoque" district near the seafront with its Casino, Rotunda, Marina and expensive hotels and properties, and the market square area above the railway line, which has a lovely traditional small town feel to it. The Hotel Select is in the square opposite the market, and from the first floor breakfast room you can watch the stallholders selling fresh fruit and vegetables as you take your coffee and croissants. The Hotel itself is a lovely old building on three floors with a beautiful, if steep, spiral staircase running up the middle. The renovated rooms are plainly furnished but comfortable and very clean, and contain a fridge, safe and flat screen TV. We chose a top floor room overlooking the market place which provides a great view of the hills and cliff face which run down to the sea. This is a family owned hotel, run by a charming mother and daughter combination who we found very helpful and friendly. We have previously stayed in other, more expensive, hotels in Beaulieu but for location and character this is our favourite

Review 25:It was clean, convenient to restaurants, and the staff member was accommodating. The room was tiny, but I needed a quite, inexpensive, clean place for a night. It fully met my needs.

Review 26:Only that the wall between us and our neighbour was thin so we could hear their 7am alarm clock and they were slow switching it off but that wasn't the hotels fault

Review 27:Great location for trains and buses and the beach. Lovely town nice market next to hotel. Staff very accommodating bed comfy

Review 28:Cosy and modern hotel with very professional and helpful staff. Nice and very convenient location with easy access to public transport, supermarket, and good restaurants.

Review 29:in 5 am there was a loud noise from the street where they built up the market for the next day

Review 30:Great location, close to train station but no noise from it. lovely stuff. small room but worth the low price!

Review 31:Not serious faults - but breakfast could be more interesting and shower very small

Review 32:Situated in centre of Beaulieu but very quiet hotel. Well served for bus/train and restaurants. Very friendly and helpful staff

Review 33:No lift, no telephone in room, small shower, no fruit for breakfast

Review 34:Friendly staff, location close to train station and centre of town, fresh bread from local baker for breakfast, reasonable price

Review 35:Not if you don't like stairs, but that is stated in the description, so your choice.

Review 36:The location, close to everything and the bed was large and comfortable. The room had a double aspect, so lots of light.

Review 37:Easy access to train station and 100 bus to either Nice or Menton for only 1.5 euro! Family run hotel , clean and comfortable at an affordable price for this part of France! No pool or bar but plenty to do in area and further afield. Would use again as Beaulieu sur Mer is more relaxing to stay in than Nice.

Review 38:Leaving!

Review 39:Everything about this small family run hotel. The mum and daughterteam were friendly and helpful. My bedroom overlooked the street andSquare. Breakfast from the buffet was fine and satisfying. I wasglad of the little fridge in the bedroom to keep water, drinks andsnacks cool. The Select Hotel has to be the best located hotel inBeaulieu. It's near everywhere, train station, bus stops, touristoffice and supermarket u is 2 ticks away! The sandy beach La PlageFourmis is 5 mins walk away as is the Yacht Club and port, a verynice spot to sit and read. I have stayed in the Dorchester inLondon, Four Seasons in New York, The Ritz Carlton in Dublin, TheRenaissance in Colorado and can honestly say, I enjoyed this weehotel every bit as much! It's certainly not luxurious and thedecor leaves a lot to be changed!!!!!! But given that the new ownersonly took over this summer, I'd expect them to make changes inthis area. They don't need to do that much except change thecolour schemes everywhere. Lose the brown curtains and matching bedrunners and replace with vivids like duck egg blues,oranges/reds and violets.KEEP All the lovely immaculate whitebedding and towels though.

Review 40:Best location in the center of the city and quiet at night. Beautiful place, Small and cosy hotel, feel like at home. Very friendly and professional personnel. Good full breakfast. Easy to find parking, great internet connection. Highly recommend!

Review 41:The position and the distribution of the toilet paper in the toilet. Itwas a bit like chinese torture as it is placed on the side above thetoilet and it could take 2 rolls. If the paper was a little larger, itwas very difficult to grab, you could not use the new one until theused one was finished. The shower was a bit small. Luckily we are notbig. The fridge did not work and when we asked, we were told that itwas a bar fridge and they are not supposed to be cold. The furniture isa bit tired.

Review 42:It was lovely to get up with the view of the market each day. The roomwas always very clean. And the staff extremely pleasant. We had agreat stay

Review 43:Anais the receptionist was so helpful I will definitely be returning I have stayed in beaulieu for many years in different hotels .this hotel has so much charm ,some rooms face the square where there is a market on each day .thank you Anais for everything .dee

Review 44:A friendly smile means a lot when we travel to a hotel and in this case the owner was really pleasant and we had no problem communicating. The hotel is clean all the staff we met were friendly and helpful. If anyone has a physical restriction, be aware there is no lift in the Hotel. This information is on the website. I would stay there again.

Review 45:No outlet in the bathroom for hair dryer and a weird smell in the room from the rug ... but nothing too bad ... You open the window 5 min and you're good to go ! :D

Review 46:Location and conditions were fine ... clean hotel ... nice host .... all in all ok

Review 47:Walls are a bit thin but it's not a party hotel. Guest all seem to settle in at normal hours.

Review 48:Felt like an Inn not a hotel. Great value and just enough of what one needs. Comfortable beds and good location. Nice 8 euro breakfast. Friendly

Review 49:A wonderful French hotel with friendly owner who was extremely helpful. Room was small but very clean and comfortable with a lovely double window onto the square. We didn't have breakfast but there was a big selection of fresh bread and croissants and plenty of choice

Review 50:Soundproofing between rooms was poor It is a small family-run type hotel so no major facilities

Review 51:Convenient location with easy access to buses, train and beach All staff are really nice people Room was clean, comfortable and all you could expect from a 2 star Wifi was a welcome plus

Review 52:Extremely clean, close to the beach, free parking near the hotel between 18:00 and 08:00 (hope that I remember well the hours) The town is a gem, very nice place, with good restaurants and the promenade which goes to the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat is lovely

Review 53:Very helpful staff, good Wi-Fi, early morning fruit & veg markets across the street, short walk to train station, beach, restaurants & cafe's. Comfy & clean hotel.

Review 54:The shower was too small to even move inside of and the wifi access was terribly slow. I also wish there had been more to do in the general vicinity of the hotel.

Review 55:The Hotel is beautiful, staff is very friendly and overall it was a great value. Other than the shower being impossibly small the room was overall spacious, clean and comfortable with a beautiful view. It was very close to the train station and was an excellent value.

Review 56:The owners and staff went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable, had all we needed for an overall beautiful experience during our first time in the French Riviera. Beautiful, compassionate family environment. The owner ensured we had all we wanted for breakfast and assisted with local travel/sites as well as culinary interests. Highly recommend this hotel.
