Reviews for Court Colman Manor

Review 1:Standard rooms awful, floorboards very uneven, a lot of steps into most rooms which resulted in a fall, not very clean

Review 2:Beautiful grounds, staff, upgraded room, service outstanding

Review 3:In my room, the main radiator was barely warm and the toilet bowl was cracked and a potential injury risk.

Review 4:The Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Food in the restaurant was excellent

Review 5:No mini bar in room;-(

Review 6:Excellent staff, very friendly, nothing too much trouble, lovely stay on our wedding night, did want bridal suite, but didnt have one,but building one now, soon to be finished(end Nov 2015 ish)booked through trip advisor, requested specific room(Venetian) and late checkout, all of which was catered for.Highly reccomended to all.

Review 7:Window in the bedroom had no lock, mattress and pillows not as comfortable as I have had in other hotels.

Review 8:Staff, hotel and restaurant were fantastic bedroom was ok and bathroom new and good

Review 9:Too small bed for a couple, the breakfast should be improved and the music of the bar could be heard in the bedroom

Review 10:Nice to see the inside of a manor, the pictures in one of the lounges gave us an image what the manor looked like before, friendly staff and beautiful location, the bedroom was lovely (except for the very small bed).

Review 11:That our stay was only two days. Would have loved to stay a week

Review 12:Everything!!! Amazing place, and amazing restaurant attached too. Most amazing Indian food I have ever eaten.

Review 13:It was so desperately in need of a refurbishment, very dirty and I actually scalded my arm in the terrible shower

Review 14:Beautiful building in lovely location

Review 15:very poor interiors level. It's a nice old building, with a deep and stylish renovation would become absolutely a GREAT HOTEL.

Review 16:Nice exterior looking but very poor interiors. Hotel needs a deep renovation

Review 17:There was nothing to dislike

Review 18:Lovely Hotel with fantastic grounds and views. Food was excellent and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. Will definitely stay here again! Highly recommended

Review 19:Nothing - all good.

Review 20:Conveniently located, lovely property, welcoming staff and good value for money. The restaurant is fabulous and worthy of a trip just for the food.

Review 21:In a room close to wedding reception which was very noisy until midnight and people smoking in the grounds which came into our room. Music made the floor shake!!!

Review 22:breakfast is basic but nice. They lost my booking and so we ended up in a spare room for the first night which was very noisy and uncomfortable. The second night we were 'upgraded' to a room above the ballroom where the music from below was very loud. Luckily we were part of the wedding party and so stayed up late anyway.

Review 23:The Indian restaurant has lovely food!

Review 24:The hotel entrance door is locked late at night. There is, (in small font), a key code printed on the room card but if you don't notice it's this, (like I did), you'll be embarrassed at breakfast for waking the whole hotel ;-) ....Other than this minor issue this is where I'll stay on my visits to Bridgend from now on....great experience.

Review 25:Beautiful location, good parking, great restaurant, good internet connectivity. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially at breakfast!

Review 26:The grounds were nice. The bedroom was above the Indian restaurant and the kids first comment was "this room smells" which to be fair it did. There was a wedding on when we were there and as it was raining all the guests were milling about in the hallway and there was no-one on reception. Breakfast was a nightmare as it was absolutely heaving with wedding guests who all knew each other so we were squashed in amongst them and felt pretty awkward. I think if there hadn't been a wedding on it would much nicer. On the plus side the staff were friendly and the Indian restaurant was nice.

Review 27:Breakfast wasn't great and on our second morning we weren't able to have anything cooked as it was just after 9am. No one told us we had to order before 9am, we were told breakfast was until 10am. The continental breakfast was a bit grim. Glad we weren't staying longer

Review 28:Fantastic room and en suite, beautiful hotel and not too far to travel from our wedding reception

Review 29:The manor was full of character it's a real charming peace of history with Beautiful gardens . The staff where very helpful. The food at the restaurant was the best amazing . We had the best time there thank u .

Review 30:The breakfast was pretty poor. Hot plate self service. The scambled eggs were poor and i was underwhelmed for £10. Room was dated and tired. No loo roll holder. Shower was stop start. Hot water took ages in sink for shave. And the TV was tiny.

Review 31:The Indian restaurant was fantastic. Staff were lovely.

Review 32:Shocking Breakfast- very mediocre indian restaurant.... nonchalant manager who made no effort to welcome us on arrival and evidently totally pre-disposed to being Lord of the manor. The place is tired and lacking the pizazz it evidently once had.

Review 33:Stunning Views - Historic building Bedroom and cleanliness and very Comfy bed.

Review 34:There was no wifi in our room, which was frustrating. The staff didn't mind us using the wifi by the front desk, but I would have appreciated wifi in my room. It is pretty far from any city, outside of Bridgend, but that could be positive or negative depending on what you're looking for.

Review 35:The staff were all very helpful and kind. They helped us with all our needs and even suggested a wonderful place for lunch. The grounds were beautiful, and it was a nice, relaxing place to stay.

Review 36:Very disappointing to find the manor untidy, a mish-mash of furniture and decorating styles that didn't suit a period property of this era. Really expected more given the photos on their site. On entering my room I first noticed the huge stain on the bed cover that looked like someone had dropped a whole glass of wine and very dirty and stained bed valance. I called management about it and they removed it. The bed springs creaked all night every time you moved and the lamp shades were broken, dusty or falling apart. My friends had an adjoining room with crazy, bright wallpaper which was aweful. We had planned to stay 2 nights when we booked but decided to change it to 1 night only.

Review 37:The location was great, the girls on reception fantastic and friendly, and we had a great meal at the restaurant.

Review 38:The room was beautiful, amazing view, bathroom was large and a stunning bath. Was quiet despite wedding reception downstairs, breakfast was lovely too!

Review 39:The room we were allocated on arrival was totally inadequate. It was small and the wardrobe door could not be opened due to a chest of drawers causing an obstruction. Another perfectly good room was provided for our first night but nothing could be done for the second night we had booked, consequently we checked out on the second morning.

Review 40:We didn't spend too much time in the hotel but liked much of what we saw and experienced. The staff were helpful and very pleasant.

Review 41:The room was dirty, drinks very expensive, could only sit in a corner in the bar, as was over run by wedding guests, inside and outside. No where else to sit, except going back to our room.

Review 42:Spending some quality time with my husband

Review 43:The main road into the hotel at the moment is blocked off meaning youhave to divert which is a pain, but not the hotels fault.

Review 44:Amazed to find two red heading welsh ladies running the reception. Arered heads taking over the World? I'm interested as I am marryingone soon. Service - excellent, rooms comfortable, big and clean. Food- amazing!!

Review 45:The room was spacious and extremely comfortable. Staff couldn't do enough for us and breakfast was really tasty and there was plenty of it. We had a most pleasant time here and had a lovely meal in the restaurant.

Review 46:Nothing.

Review 47:A traditional family run business with very friendly staff that stands out in a world of modern impersonal hotels. A stunning location. And excellent value for money.

Review 48:Service was very poor no one pick up the phone after calling them again and again prior to stay Hotel receptions looked very old and dirty Rooms looked over loaded with furniture and no coordination Restaurant served cold food and some food was off Breakfast was unorganised and felt rushed

Review 49:Location was great and bathrooms r great all newly done

Review 50:Two different height single beds pushed together to make double with springs gona on the one made it very uncomfortable for me and my partner to sleep together....wallpaper peelin in places giving damp affect off....breakfast not included in price and was £10 per person extra

Review 51:Polite friendly staff ...rural location ...clean hotel

Review 52:Good that the buffet breakfast was we would have preferred freshly prepared cooked breakfast.

Review 53:Large room with an ample bathroom with spa bath. The grounds stunning and of course not forgetting Ollie. ..The prodigal cat..

Review 54:Hair dryer not working, and the shower temperature a little erratic... when we arrived no one on reception and waited 10mins before someone came!!. there was a corner in the room that was damp and peeling paper[ although did see that there is some work taking place on other rooms]

Review 55:The setting was fab the room was warm big and comfortable. Breakfast was good and enjoyable.

Review 56:Nothing

Review 57:Rooms were spacious light and airy and the beds were really comfortable. Staff very courteous and friendly. Location is second to none, and nothing was too much trouble

Review 58:Went to breakfast at 7am when restaurant opened because I had an early meeting to attend. Waitress hadn't even finished setting up the breakfast things until nearly 7.10am. The chef had added sugar (and a lot of it) to my porridge which I hadn't asked for therefore I had to wait for more to be made.

Review 59:My room was large and comfortable. Bathroom, modern, clean and good size.

Review 60:Light in the bar and the sitting room is depressing. The indian restaurant is not great (décor and food).

Review 61:The house, an old manor converted in a hotel which for once is affordable and not upper class. Staff is very nice. Breakfast room very well decorated.

Review 62:There was nothing we didn't like but I would just say that the water was cold in the morning for our shower, maybe a lot of people were using theirs at the same time.

Review 63:We came for a wedding and stayed the night and everything was really lovely.

Review 64:Nicely converted and modernised large old family estate house, having character. Very large, comfortable bedroom with good facilities. Just outside the city, in quiet countryside. Award winning restaurant specialising in curries! A perfect base for my three day business trip to Bridgend.

Review 65:Overall a nice hotel, but unfortunately we were given a room at the top of the hotel, right next to a water tank which emptied & refilled constantly through the night, worst nights sleep I have ever had in any hotel (and I can sleep through most things!)

Review 66:Lovely hotel, super restaurant, friendly staff.

Review 67:Can't think of anything - swimming pool would be nice!

Review 68:General décor, beautiful location, friendly service, quality of food. Four-poster and Jacuzzi!

Review 69:Unfortunately there were no blinds in the bathroom, making it difficult to use the toilet and even more difficult to use the shower, especially as people were in full view of our window as they strolled along.

Review 70:We liked the hotel rooms and the views, also the convenient restaurant.

Review 71:Very limited food choice in the restaurant for vegetarians.

Review 72:The staff were so friendly and polite. The room was very comfortable. The location was excellent surrounded by beautiful grounds and landscape. I will definitely go back to this hotel.

Review 73:great restaurant serving the finest indian cuisine. rooms were spacious and high standard

Review 74:Welcoming and friendly staff. A homely feel to the hotel.

Review 75:Nothing to dislike my second visit won't be my last x

Review 76:Lovely room lovely meal lovely staff x

Review 77:Everything and the staff were lovely

Review 78:tired décor, chef went early so could not have breakfast at 9.15am

Review 79:location okay

Review 80:Poorly lit on route, no lighting behind the car park which made it quite dangerous

Review 81:Lovely venue Comfortable room Great quality of food

Review 82:Excellent Indian restaurant, friendly hotel staff and hotel cat!

Review 83:Two light bulbs not working. Rooms tired and in need of an update.

Review 84:Beautiful building, friendly staff and nice restaurant

Review 85:Coleman court is different, looks different and a pleasant change from the blue, green and purple chains

Review 86:Waiting 40 minutes for breakfast

Review 87:The room was tastefully decorated with plenty of wardrobe space and excellent facilities.

Review 88:Breakfast was nice but could improve

Review 89:Beautiful setting, friendly staff, well apportioned rooms
