Reviews for Badgers Hall
Review 1:Felt the tariff was expensive as our door was right next to the tearooms which made it quite loud. Ensure you ask for a room on the upper floors.
Review 2:Karen and her husband were excellent hosts and ensured we had a great time, even offering us a lift to a wedding venue. The breakfasts were incredible.
Review 3:We stayed in room 2 - the shower room was relatively small and the shower is not overly powerful however it wasn't a massive issue.
Review 4:The actual room was nice and spacious. Karen and Paul are lovely - would definitely stay again.
Review 5:Very quaint, immaculately clean accommodation. Karen and Paul were friendly and very attentive to all our needs. Badger's Hall was central to the village and an ideal spot for walking in the beautiful Cotswolds. Tried 3 venues for evening meal and all were excellent.
Review 6:having to go home!! Loved the place!!
Review 7:The cosy friendly atmosphere. Bedrooms were warm, and comfortable, facilities were fantastic too. Breakfasts were delicious. Fresh homemade cakes always available during day and other homemade food.
Review 8:Badger's Hall lived up to my expectations for accommodation in Chipping Campden. This very old authentic building located on right on the High Street with it's quaint tearooms was exactly what I had hoped for.The hosts, food, location and facilities were superb and we were given two freshly made scones to take on our when we left!.
Review 9:Nothing
Review 10:Great place to stay for exploring the area, short drives and walks, staying above the Tea shop was interesting to navigate with luggage, best to check in and take your stuff in after 5 when it's closed. Great cake & cream teas every afternoon a lovely touch, and fresh scones from the Aga every morning. Very convenient for walking to some really lovely places for supper. All in all an excellent stay.
Review 11:Warm welcome, lovely hosts, breakfasts to look forward to and comfortable bed. What more could we ask for. Great to stay in such an unspoilt character property.
Review 12:The room we had on the top floor was also cozy and big enough, but it had a beam going across it. We're not tall people, but we kept bumping our heads on it. Of course, you have to keep in mind that you're staying in a 400-year old building.
Review 13:The breakfasts were phenomenal and served in the warm and cozy tea room. Owners and staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 14:As soon as we arrived we were made to feel at home by the owners & staff. Food excellent the whole weekend was great due to Karen & Paul no complaints what so ever.
Review 15:We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Review 16:It was fun to stay above the tea house and to be introduced to an English cream tea on our first afternoon in Chipping Campden. I eat very few sweets but I loved Karen's Victoria cake and her scones are the best I've ever had.
Review 17:On top floor with very low beams and hit our heads on a number of occassions. Steep, narrow stairs..
Review 18:period property with character, very helpful and friendly hosts, excellent location in the middle of Chipping Campden.
Review 19:Probable weight gain from eating the delicious shortbread, cream teas and cakes.
Review 20:The position was perfect, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very nice with everything you would require, shortbread delicious, good variety for breakfast, afternoon teas in the tearooms outside terrace were amazing. Loved the teapot water feature.
Review 21:It is no surprise that the floors creak at night in such a historic building. Would have preferred a larger bed and a proper bedside table instead of a tiny stool. Something larger than an awkwardly placed shaving mirror is needed in the bathroom. Recommend this place to other travellers.
Review 22:The catering is the most outstanding feature at Badgers Hall. We were served with complimentary tea and fresh scones shortly after our arrival. Coffee making facilities along with homemade biscuits and spring water were provided in the room. The hot cooked breakfast was exceptional and generous. The room facing the back courtyard was comfortable and quiet. The antique exposed beams and eclectic furniture create a quaint ambiance.
Review 23:The accommodation was really lovely. Very old building but beautifully kept with all modern conveniences. The owner and staff were very pleasant, even recommending an excellent place for dinner across the road. Very highly recommended.
Review 24:The beam that went right across our room, the heating not coming on till 5.30 pm and the room being cold.
Review 25:The town is lovely and the accomodation very central
Review 26:Never to happen at Badgers Hall ,it's faultless with absolutely no negatives whatsoever.
Review 27:Just everything it's so homely and the owners and staff are so warm and super friendly . Food quality is absolutely superb .
Review 28:The owners bent over backwards to make our stay pleasant. The room was very comfortable and breakfast was super quality. Location in middle of village was ideal. What more could we ask for?
Review 29:Beautiful area to stay with lots of pubs and restuarants to eat in make sure you book meals in advance as its very busy and hard to get a meal if you leave it last minute we have stayed at badgers hall twice now and will be returning again next year the place is lovely the hosts are great and the breakfasts are second to known i cant praise this place enough
Review 30:Guests in room next door had to use the bathroom situated next door to our room, which they did constantly through the night, very noisy! No consideration for others.
Review 31:Breakfasts were a very high standard. Room was comfortable and clean. Good overall stay.
Review 32:Lovely warm, friendly welcome, delicious home cooked food and wonderful complimentary afternoon tea on arrival. Our room and ensuite bathroom was quiet, spacious, very clean and comfortable. It was perfect for our 3 night stay as I'm 8 months pregnant.
Review 33:The breakfast was excellent. The afternoon tea was excellent. Two good pubs close by and an excellent Mediterranean restaurant just over the road. Interesting high street and excellent location to be based for a Cotswold tour. Bedroom was very nice with books and a homely freindly ambience. All the other guests were relaxed and people coming in for cakes or tea were welcomed. A very nice place indeed.
Review 34:Being woken at 4am by someone (hosts?) getting up, showering (we could hear everything going on in the room above) and going out (front door has to be slammed and we were directly above) The springs in the mattress stuck in our backs all night and it just needs replacing. A thin mattress topper had been put on top so they are aware of the problem but it did nothing. Very uncomfortable. Having to decide what we will want for breakfast the night before and leaving a note. We understand there may be wastage, but we usually prefer to choose in the morning, as most places do.
Review 35:Complimentary cream teas & shortbread - home made and delicious! Location - lovely view of Chipping Camden high street Hosts - friendly, Paul was very helpful recommending places to eat/drink Decor - we prefer traditional to modern so it suited us.
Review 36:There was nothing not to like.
Review 37:The Hosts and staff were excellent very friendly, upon arrival asked we would like tea and home made cakes, which were scrummy. With the building being very old had not problems with being cold in the bedrooms as very warm and cosy. Also homemade biscuits with tea and coffee in the bedroom. Breakfast was very tasty and made to order, so everything nice and hot. Would def go again and if you want to stay somewhere with character instead of those chain hotels then this is the place.
Review 38:The B&B was very comfortable and the accomodation here is exactly what I imagined a stay in the Cotswolds to be. There was complimentary cream tea included and the breakfast choice and standard was exceptional.
Review 39:Exactly what we wanted - cosy Cotswolds getaway in a unique location. Some lovely touches like the complementary afternoon tea. Owners very helpful suggesting local walks etc.
Review 40:Karen and Paul - couldn't do enough for you. Paul is a 'bit of the old dab hand' in the kitchen and produced an amazing breakfast on both days.. All in all - a fantabulous place with some lovely finishing touches. We shall be back!! Rob and Rachel
Review 41:If you are visiting the Cotswolds, Badgers Hall is an amazing place to stay...welcoming hosts, cosy setting, great location to explore the area, yummy food (both in the tea room and at local pubs-must visit the lygon). Will definitely be returning!
Review 42:There was nothing we didn't like.
Review 43:We were given a very warm welcome from Karen, Paul & their staff. Complimentary refreshments on arrival were most welcome. Badgers Hall is a very unique, quaint & beautiful place to stay, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there & will be returning again in March. Karen & Paul were able to provide us with lots of valuable information on Chipping Campden & the surrounding area. The breakfast was amazing & nothing was too much trouble. Have never slept in a more comfortable bed. Love love love Badgers Hall ..... that is all :)
Review 44:Genuinely no dislikes.
Review 45:Badgers Hall was in an ideal location for touring the Cotswolds area. Karen & Paul were friendly and welcoming hosts and made our short stay very enjoyable.
Review 46:Karen and Paul helped with any questions about the area, reccomended places to eat, walks etc and were friendly and considerate. Rooms were really nice, as was the afternoon tea and cheesy crumpets!
Review 47:Bit noisy early in the morning (6am)when owners started moving about. Website could have been clearer there were no other facilities. Bit surprised access was through tea shop although it didnt matter.
Review 48:Lovely olde worlde room. Very comfortable with lots of nice touches. Breakfast very varied and plenty of it. Nothing too much trouble. Amazing cream teas included.
Review 49:Early deliveries ( about 5.00am!)to the Cooperative store next door meant a disturbed sleep some nights. The traffic noise on the High Street can also be a problem, particularly if it is raining or bin collection day.
Review 50:A very located and relaxed atmosphere in a large and comfortable room. The breakfasts were cooked to order and delicious. The hosts were very welcoming and we look forward to returning in 2015.
Review 51:The whole experience was lovely, Karen and Paul were so friendly and the room was super and all that we hoped for. Chipping Camden is the perfect weekend retreat full of history and character. Also burt the family dog, we could have taken him with us !!! overall super weekend and would highly recommend staying at Badgers Hall.
Review 52:A beautiful spacious room, comfortable, graceful. Not at all twee, just good authentic style. Friendly welcome, great breakfasts, helpful information (loan of maps), coffee cake to take away. All in a great location in the centre of a beautiful village.
Review 53:Karen and Paul so welcoming and helpful. Great room, spotless Cream teas in afternoons very welcome Good local places to eat Good bus service to other villages
Review 54:Paul and Karen are the most wonderful hosts. Badgers hall is very warm and cozy with lots of wonderful character and ambience. I would highly recommend a stay here to anyone planning a trip to the Cotswolds.
Review 55:Karen and Paul were wonderful hosts, and the B and B is charming without being cutesy at all! The food was delicious, the room excellent, and the preservation of the old building accomplished in the course of their renovations is impressive. Stay here, you will not be sorry!
Review 56:We had to be careful not to bump our heads on the open beams but being in an historic building was part of the charm. The room was at the top of 3 flights of narrow stairs so next time we will bring less luggage.
Review 57:Chipping Campden is beautiful. The location of Badgers Hall was perfect and the hospitality wonderful. The food was outstanding. Kudos to Karen and Paul.
Review 58:Badgers Hall is the perfect place to stay if you are staying at the Cotswolds. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was great! Our hosts were very friendly. If we ever go back to the Cotswolds we will stay at Badgers Hall for sure!
Review 59:Stayed here with my mom for three nights and we were blown away by the quality and price. Karen and Paul are so sweet and welcoming. Amazing food. Cozy and beautiful rooms. Loved everything about it, I highly recommend this historical b&b. I certainly didn't want to leave!!
Review 60:Shower is weak. No help with heavy suitcases to first floor Breakfast choices very limited. Tired sausages. Overpriced compared to our following 2 nights at Luxury Broadway Hotel for just £20 more per night.
Review 61:Host and hostess extremely friendly and helpful. Room and bath very spacious.
Review 62:Paul and Karen! They were friendly and talented at their work. The food was excellent! The place was charming, and the whole village was out of a fairy tale.
Review 63:There is NOTHING not to like about Badger Hall
Review 64:Karen and Paul shared so much useful information about Chipping Camden and surrounding. They welcome you with the cream tea and Paul's out of this world scones This is the way to experience the Cotswolds
Review 65:WiFi can be spotty, so be patient! Stairs are narrow and would be toughto navigate for anyone with walking challenges.
Review 66:Karen and Paul have created a cozy glimpse back in time with all modernconveniences (and, with tea shop goodies wafting, a much better smell).A restored 15thC shop/home has all the beams (some low) firmly inplace and with as many nooks and crannies as a crumpet. The food isoutstanding! (The shortcake and tea in the room a real treat!). Theplace is located directly across from the bus stop and beginning of theCotswold Way - Hooray!
Review 67:Could not fault anything.
Review 68:Charming and comfortable room, lovely friendly hosts. Great attention to detail. Wonderful home cooking, breakfast excellent and superb cream teas and cake. Victoria sponge cake definitely 10/10!
Review 69:We couldn't stay a bit longer. : (
Review 70:Karen, Paul and all staff are very friendly, smiley, and accommodating. One has the sense that they have travelled and know how to make people feel at home.
Review 71:Hosts Paul and Karen made a us really feel at home? The afternoon teas were especially good and Paul's breakfast cooking skills are second to none. Our room was lovely. Would highly recommend Badgers Hall.
Review 72:We loved the while experience. It was perfect.
Review 73:Badgers Hall is like a page out of the book, The Wind in the Willows. It is tastefully quaint, clean and welcoming. Karen and Paul, the superb hosts, are fixtures at Badgers Hall. Their expertise is evident in all aspects from reservations to checkout. Their business is a well oiled machine. Making a stay here even better are Paul’s delicious breakfasts and Karen’s hospitality. We loved Chipping Campden and would highly recommend this bed and breakfast. Also, ask about using Les’s taxi service. He was spot on time, a safe driver, knowledgeable tour guide, and all around nice guy.
Review 74:We had an attic room. It was charming but not very comfortable. Bed too soft and shower did not work properly. It pulsated and changed temperature and stopped giving water. Not a good way to start the day.
Review 75:Karen and Paul the owners were . always there all the time. The ladies who helped them were great and eager to help. We loved the location, right across the street from the 400 years old stone structure built to be a wool market.
Review 76:No complaints--everything was great.
Review 77:Great location, delicious breakfast cooked to order, huge variety of amazing pastries made on site & available with afternoon tea, beautiful rooms and friendly owners who made our stay in The Cotswolds delightful.
Review 78:At the busiest times during the high season, it wasn't always easy to find parking on the busy Main Street.
Review 79:The hosts were very warm and solicitous. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the tea with scones and the hearty breakfasts were a real treat. Strongly recommended
Review 80:Nothing against Badger's Hall but I probably would not return to Chipping Campden. Though it is centrally located for touring the Cotswolds, it has neither the charm of Lower Slaughter, for example, nor the activities of Moreton in Marsh or Evesham.
Review 81:Badger's Hall was wonderful. Proprietors Karen and Paul treated us like their personal guests. Our room was spacious, though some other areas a little cramped. Karen and Paul renovated this 17th century building themselves.
Review 82:There was nothing to dislike about Badgers Hall.
Review 83:The breakfast and cakes/scones in the Tea Room were excellent and the service from Karen and Paul was faultless. The rooms were clean, comfortable and full of character.
Review 84:The old architecture includes a few low beams.
