Reviews for La Cigalière
Review 1:The value for money. You can find places a thousand times more worthy of your money in the region. This place looks like a motel and charges the price of a what could be a charming valuable small hotel-guest house. Lack of service (breakfast starts at 8:30, no one answered at the reception before, not even to return the key correctly), lack of quality and comfort (very outdated hotel, shabby small rooms), lack of passion for service (it seems the ultimate goal is to win every cent and that they are very tight to their money, e.g. they will even ask you to deposit 10 Euros to use a pool towel), the dishonesty (we had to leave at 7:30am and they refused to reimburse the breakfast fee that we had added the night before, in addition to being very rude on the phone and hanging up on us). Don't waste your money and energy at this hotel.
Review 2:Nothing about this hotel, just the location. It is just unfortunate that there are hotels unworthy of the wonderful location.
Review 3:The setting is idilic especially if you want to get away from the rat race. It is a very natural setting. The rooms are small but comfortable and very clean. Perfect if you are visiting The Paul Ricard Race Track
Review 4:Very small kitchen.
Review 5:Fantastic location, great lansdcape with pine trees and swimming pool. Very friendly and welcoming owner. Great for family or couple! However expect a basic and small accommodation.
Review 6:Overpriced by 40/50% (compare with Grand Prix Hotel in Le Castellet) Run down in parts (i.e. tennis court, gardens in front of the rooms) Needs renovation.
Review 7:Nice location. quiet and close to the circuit
Review 8:decoration was very dated - would be happy to pay a little extra for a coat of paint & new flooring
Review 9:Beautiful setting, well located, reasonably priced for the area given how extortionate everything else is. Pool & games area was great. Having a 'patio/garden' area with our suite was excellent as it served as a living area
Review 10:Air Conditioning would have been nice but hosts provided electric fan which was very welcome
Review 11:Excellant choice for breakfast, lovely hosts, calm setting in pines, very French and quaint
Review 12:The only negative thing was that one day it was windy and as the pool is located under pine trees lots of spikes blew into the water. The owner cleaned out the pool first thing the next morning though when the weather changed.
Review 13:We stayed for 3 nights and were happily surprised as this is rated a 2 star hotel. We did not have any high expectations but this hotel is perfect for a family. The rooms are small (that should be said) and a bit old fashion, but they are neat and clean and fill their purpose. We stayed in a dbl room the first night and an apartment the rest of the time. The aptm has a small pentry and fridge and a small backyard with tables and chairs. The hotel has charm and feels warm and friendly. I personally don't like hotels as they seem so cold and impersonal to me. The owner was fantastic. I found him playing boulle with my kids in their garden. There is a tennis court, boulle court, pond, fussball game, ping pong table and cute paths to explore. Perfect distraction for kids. The pool was of perfect size and not to busy. The breakfast excellent with a welcoming table set up for our family with our name on. :-). The hotel is close to town (very pretty) and many restaurants and the owners recommendations for dinners were great. The French Riviera is available with beaches and shopping within 15 min drive. We will absolutely come back again next year and spend some more time. Value for money. Welcoming. It has all you need unless you want luxury. This hotel is more like a home. I would recommend it to anyone with kids. The hotel is often used by men going to the motorcycle track near by and therefor you have large parking areas for cars and motorcycles just by the door to your hotel room. No stairs. Easy access.
