Reviews for The Globe Inn
Review 1:A lovely old inn in the heart of Chagford we had a comfortable room overlooking the church (the bells on the hour are charming) A good warm welcome - the evening meals are more exciting than breakfast but overall would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
Review 2:The whole place was in need of refurbishment, it was uncomfortable and dirty. There was no parking at this inn.
Review 3:The staff were friendly and did their best with what they had to work with.
Review 4:Quite expensive. Very steep narrow attic stairs to the top floor which were difficult to manage going down with bags. No shower in the bathroom.
Review 5:Room very comfortable and full of character. Food good but simple - straightforward pub type menu. Lovely village with outstanding tardis like shop which sells everything
Review 6:I loved the room opposite the church and the decor which is stylish. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. This is my second stay in 6 months and I will stay again. Everyone made my mum and myself so welcome.
Review 7:Bed was a double ( as advertised) but we're used to king size and matress was very very firm.
Review 8:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Quirky decor in the Globe.
Review 9:Lovely old building with lots of character. Very friendly staff. Large comfortable bedroom with en -suite facilities. Best Sunday roast ever eaten.
Review 10:Decor slightly dated in bars.. if you wish to be really picky.... hotel with 5 bedrooms that quality.... simply very good.
Review 11:Booked at short notice, perfect location bedroom superb, arrived latish only had drink in the bar reasonable price. Think the locals use the main bar. Books galore in bar ran my hand over them ... No dust, very good.
Review 12:We have stayed at The Globe many times and never had a bad experience.
Review 13:Everything! Location is great, staff are very welcoming and food is of excellent quality
Review 14:Breakfast only 1 hr between 8:30 and 9:30 even weekends - a bit mean for those who are a bit lazy!
Review 15:Excellent room with everything one might want / need, great location for walking, touring etc, good pub food and great beer - reasonably priced
Review 16:Not much atmosphere in the bar so we went elsewhere in the village which had a number of lively and welcoming pubs and restaurants
Review 17:Room was large and bed comfortable
Review 18:Poor wifi if any - they need to spend money on boosters and plumbing Car parking is awkward- drop off luggage outside then 5 walk to car park
Review 19:Friendly
Review 20:The friendly atmosphere. The lunch was delicious as was the breakfast. The bedroom was beautifully laid out with an en suite that again was clean, modern and well lit. The bar area was cosy with a log fire. Located in the centre of Chagford with interesting shops, restaurants, tea shops on the doorstep.
Review 21:Staff at the Inn were very accommodating and the room was big and beautiful including a lovely bathroom. Location in the village was perfect and the local people were charming.
Review 22:We had the room with just a (not very powerful) shower which was a shame . That's all really - won't stop us coming again though.
Review 23:Really friendly staff and beautiful décor. The breakfast was delicious and the church view very quaint.

Review 28:The bathroom was like in a little Castle. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice and bright colors in the room "Malve". Would recomand your nice Place to my friends.
Review 29:My wife says the bedroom lighting was insufficient to read in bed and she found the shower tricky. Small points!
Review 30:The staff and the food were excellent. Good beer and accommodation. A good mix of locals and travellers who always engage in conversation.
Review 31:Whilst right on one of the main streets was handy it was easy for people passing to look in.
Review 32:The food and staff were superb, as well as the location in the centre of this beautiful and unique village.
Review 33:In the entrance hall are two very dirtv patterned rugs which give a very bad first impression. The decor is dark and very old fashioned. The whole place is very cluttered with ornaments, mirrors, pictures etc which look as if someone had stood at the door and thrown everything inside each room.
Review 34:The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good.
Review 35:Bed too hard for my taste and pillows really thin, poorly fitting sash windows - noisy and windy all night
Review 36:Location, Warm feel downstairs, nicely appointed bedrooms, cleanliness, generally very comfortable. Breakfast very acceptable. Good value for money.

Review 41:We had a great stay in this lovely B&B close to the town. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly and contacted us prior to our stay about parking permits and other items. The rooms were comfortable and clean and were fully equiped for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was beautifully prepared and delicious. Top marks to the owners we had a great time.
Review 42:The narrow (twin) beds and, above all, the church clock directly opposite our room, very loudly striking every hour 24/7. Even earplugs, provided by our hostess, did little to help us get some sleep!
Review 43:The friendly atmosphere, pleasant and attentive staff.
Review 44:The bed was a bit too firm! The small cooked breakfast!

Review 99:Food, the staff, the relaxed atmosphere
Review 100:Hard bed, church bells chiming outside all night. Room not superior as advertised.
Review 101:The food
Review 102:Hot water tap in the bathroom sometimes didn't allow flow of any water. Service was friendly but very slow. On arrival the fellow who greeted us acted as receptionist, porter, barman and waiter - so checking in took some time.
Review 103:Beautiful setting. Like the rooms and most of the decor. Good value for money.
Review 104:The noise from people smoking outside the pub after hours. Felt very uncomfortable at the attitude of the male cleaner who overheard the issue being raised the next morning when we left For dinner, we were only seated at our table after the starter had been served and had to fetch our own cutlery for the main course. Felt little disorganised in terms of roles and responsibilities of staff at a dinner service. The scallops were not good value for money at the size of a twenty pence piece, suspected they were frozen not fresh
Review 105:The owner was lovely and very welcoming as was the daytime bar manager. Room was spacious and kept lovely by the housekeeper.
Review 106:booked deluxe suite - large double bed was actually only ordinary double. Only hand shower over bath. Breakfast choice very limited, we were never given a menu - staff very indifferent. Expected more for £150 per night!

Review 114:Nothing comes to mind.
Review 115:Everything! The room was excellent, very spacious and well appointed. The bar has a cosy traditional feel to it, with excellent beer and food, a roaring log fire, and friendly staff. Price was very good for the quality of the room.
Review 116:Nothing to say. I liked it all.
Review 117:The rooms were lovely modern clean and fresh with a touch of luxury. The rooms at the front you can clearly hear the church clock chime every hour but I quite liked that !
Review 118:The Globe Inn was perfectly located within this small town, the staff were excellent and made us feel very welcome from the time of arrival right through to when we departed. The rooms were very comfortable, exceptionally clean with many nice touches. When visiting this part of the country again we will certainly be looking forward to styling again at the Globe Inn.
