Reviews for L'Aurore du Lac

Review 1:The apartment for 2 is very small. You have a bed and a shower upstairs. The shower area doesn't have a door. When we switched on the heating it was very hot upstairs. The bed is quite big but not very comfy. Althought we had a wonderful stay and Annecy is something amazing!

Review 2:The location is perfect if you have a car or bicycles. Around 8 km from Annecy. Just near the lake, in a very calm and beautiful area. The appartment is very new, everything's working properly, you have your own terrace. Lilo pizzeria is nearby and very very good.

Review 3:There was not enough hot water to take shower in the evening for family of four. The apartment has two levels. We wish to have warmer blankets to sleep downstairs. Some carpeting/warm floor surfacing downstairs would make walking on the floor much more pleasant. Sleeping upstairs was too hot (probably, there is no good air circulation in the apartment). When we asked for help, the owner was not available and forgot our request the day after.

Review 4:The location is convenient, the area is quiet. There is green space in front of the apartment where you can set a table to eat with your family outside.

Review 5:Mind your head on the roof beams!!

Review 6:Great manager/owner, very helpful and informative. Kayaks to use & garage to keep bikes. 30 seconds from lake.

Review 7:Mind your head on the low beam in the bedroom!

Review 8:Lovely location right near the lake. Excellent outside space with each apartment having own table, chairs and sun loungers.

Review 9:Wifi either didn't work, or had expired by the time I tried to use it...

Review 10:Great location, with access to lake - even with access to kayaks. Friendly, uncomplicated

Review 11:No air con and we had a heat wave 40* on a couple of days so bedroom was hot.

Review 12:Good accommodation close to the lake and only a short drive from annecy town. Everything you need is in the chalet. Peter who meets you on arrival was extremely helpful and pleasant

Review 13:shame about the troughs between the rooms all the plants were dead in them and they looked awful. Needed air conditioning in room

Review 14:Lovely location near the lake

Review 15:No aircon and it was extremely hot Had to close every shutter all day. They did bring us a fan. Bad smell from drainage in bathroom. Told them when we arrived but they were not concerned. They said in adverts that we had a washing machine. However it was to share between all apts. Not enough cooking utensils. No spatulas, tongs etc

Review 16:Patio with table and chairs was good We could wash our clothes. Nice position near swimming in lake.

Review 17:close to the lake and cycle path. you can leave you bikes in the garage. free kayaks and easy acces to the lake. Close to lidl and Carefour supermarkets. Quiet. Staff speak very good english. wifi is avalible and is fast enough for facebook and email but don't expect youtube and live videostream. Kitchen is well equiped, all cookware is provided, two coffe machines -one for french coffee and one for pod coffee (dolce gusto). Highly recomend!!!

Review 18:low ceiling in bedroom needs care

Review 19:Pleasant garden and close to the Lake. Small but compact accommodation. Free washing machine a great boost on a long holiday

Review 20:It's unfortunate that the Manager is not onsite all day. Travellers cannot always be certain of arrival times. Wehad to rely on the goodness of other tenants to get us started there.

Review 21:handy to lake, free kayaks, nice back garden

Review 22:Nothing really. You're pretty close to each other, but having said that we had no trouble with noise and everyone respected each others' space.

Review 23:Clean, friendly, peaceful and gorgeous. Perfect for enjoying the lake and cycling - the trip into town is 20 mins of scenic perfection. Marc is very friendly and ready to help out with everything.

Review 24:Owner is very helpful. Location is great - lake in 1 minute walk, bakery & Carrefour in 5 minutes walk, Annecy center in 10 minutes by bike (bike rental nearby). Kayaks included into price. Apartment is in great condition, very clean, everything looks quite new.

Review 25:Marc very helpful , friendly , recommend a couple of lovely restaurants and we left a couple of jackets which he located for us to collect soon. Saw Peter on arrival , also helpful and friendly. Quiet and close to lake

Review 26:The apartment was basically all one space - not very private to have the only toilet just off the main living eating cooking space. Probably not suitable unless close family. There was no welcome pack in the apartment - it is nice to have details about the accommodation and local facilities/tourist attractions when you arrive.

Review 27:What an amazing location - the Lac d'Annecy is just 200m away down the drive, over the road and past the rowing club. Very quiet location. The owner Mark was welcoming and his English is better than he thinks. The apartment was clean, the beds were comfy (our sofa bed in the living space was fine). Kitchen had a dishwasher, 2 rings and a microwave but no oven. The crockery was a little sparse. There was free usage of the washing machine and tumble drier in the laundry downstairs. We did use Mark's kayaks and swam in the beautiful lake. WOW ! Good range of shops and restaurants locally in Sevrier and Annecy is just beautiful.

Review 28:Quite far from any shops - make sure you go with a car. No proper bathroom door. No way to attach shower head, so you need to hold it. Towels were a bit dirty. Curtains could be slightly thicker to help preserve privacy and enhance security.

Review 29:It was very calm and peaceful area, making it easy to sleep at night. This is also down to very good isolation between the flats. Strong wifi connection. Kitchen was well-equipped. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very close to lake, so perfect for water sports (would have taken advantage of the kayaks if I had more time).

Review 30:sleeping accomodation cramped with double bed pushed against a wall making it difficult for two people to get in and out of. Cooking basics such as salt, pepper, cooking oil, not provided Cups and glasses very small, in need of mugs and larger glasses for soft drinks or beer

Review 31:Location was excellent, downstairs seating/kitchen accomodation was ample

Review 32:nothing to complain about

Review 33:Ideal location in the immediate vicinity of Lake Annecy and cycling lane; kayaks can be rented for free; peaceful location; enough parking space for your car; nice and outgoing owner; fully equipped kitchenette with mini-fridge.

Review 34:There is a poor amount of ventilation from the small roof window in the upstairs bedroom which because it is in the eaves of the building made our standard level room very hot and really too uncomfortable to sleep in as far as we were concerned. It would benefit from airconditioning or a fan at least. Also the position of the Double bed against wall made it difficult to get out of, particularly with the low and sloping roof line The smoke alarm was missing.

Review 35:The Aurore has clean and modern facilities with a very well equipped kichenette. The reception staff were very helpful and let us check in early. L'Aurore is well located in a quiet location near the cycleway 15 minutes walk to lake, beach , restaurants, cycle hire shop and supermarket

Review 36:Really enjoyed our stay here, the apartment was really nice (and quiet, as the owner rightly pointed it out), the lake is very close and there were kayaks that we could use free of charge.

Review 37:Self catering could have been a little better thought out, simple things like smaller pans to allow two pans on the hob , rather than juggling with room for only one pan, and sharp knives. The oven is integrated into a microwave oven which limited cooking options, a full size oven instead of the dishwasher would be more useful but these are only minor niggles.

Review 38:The owner (Mark) was prompt to greet us on arriving and was available should we have needed him. The location could not have been any better, jetty into the lake is only 30 seconds walk from the apartment, and cycle track 1 min. Accommodation was spacious for 4 ( 2 kids being adults), clean and comfortable. There is also a good pizza take out just around the corner on the main road. The accommodation includes the use of a large garage providing secure bike storage, with two kayaks for guest use. I recommend using the kayaks to watch the sunrise from the lake. I do not hesitate in recommending and will certainly book again should we decide to return to Annecy. Overall excellent.

Review 39:how hot it was on the second level, even when the nights weren't very warm. fold out bed frames were broken - not very supportive for full-size people.

Review 40:location, cleanliness, kayaks, marc was very kind, chairs and outside seating area. The above rating for cleanliness wasn't excellent, because many of the plates were dirty, but the room and bath were very clean.

Review 41:Very small and overpriced. No information available on nearby attractions, facilities or restaurants. No recycling facilities and rubbish bins overflowing

Review 42:Modern purpose built apartments

Review 43:Nothing!

Review 44:The accommodation at L'Aurore du Lac was extremely clean and spacious. Well equipped kitchen area. The owner, Marc, was so helpful. We had use of kayaks during our stay. The lake is just a 2 minute walk away where there is an area for swimming. The water is so beautiful and clear - definitely a bonus - who needs a swimming pool with that on your door step! You can join the cycle path to Annecy very easily from here. It is so peaceful too. Recommended.

Review 45:Very poor value for money at €125/night. Air conditioning didn't work. Only 1 toilet roll provided for 4 nights! Very cramped accommodation and very uncomfortable bed. No coffee or tea provided. No privacy from adjoining units.

Review 46:Location was ok.

Review 47:Very small rooms! Room for 4 people=3 people maximum, better for 2. No door to the bathroom:) No ventilation in WC.

Review 48:friendly stuff, kayaks for free, wifi included

Review 49:Calm condition, good view so we could take a rest while kids enjoyed playing. Wi fi available and could be access easily.

Review 50:Service

Review 51:Location

Review 52:Nice and quiet

Review 53:Nothing

Review 54:Location and friendliness of the staff

Review 55:Wifi very bad ,nosia when someone walk in 2nd floor

Review 56:Parking area

Review 57:Very small appartment

Review 58:View - there was a garbage in te garden.

Review 59:A little flat with nice atmosphere. Realy

Review 60:Frankly -disappointed. We chose two bedroom apartment for two of us but it was'nt worth 160 Euro per night Points :- Second bedroom accessed through the first. No wardrobes Loo closet in the lounge -no wash basin Shower room also in lounge Only one semi comfortable setee No English language tv It was very hot 30plus but no fans or aircon Although close to the lake, no view. Can't imagine six occupants!

Review 61:Wi-fi, parking, cleanliness, kitchen ok.

Review 62:Not much, if being picky the seats downstairs weren't the most comfortable, but we spent very little time in the apartment anyway with so much to do locally!

Review 63:250 short steps for the lake my wife tells me (and she has short legs!). Marc was very friendly and accommodating on arrival and the use of the kayaks was fantastic. We went kayaking both nights on the beautiful Lac D'Annecy. Definitely hire bikes and use the lovely smooth cycle path to cycle in to Annecy (and around the lake if you're feeling energetic!). Lidl supermarket is a short walk and Carrefour only a bit further. Kitchen very well stocked and the bed was comfortable. A great spot and great value for money.

Review 64:Quite a drive to Annecy. No ventilation in the toilet makes a smelly affair. No heating downstairs makes it also a bit cold.

Review 65:Cosy place with friendly personnel. Fully equipped kitchen (without dishwasher, though). You can use a kayak for free on the lake (!). No deposit needed.

Review 66:What can't you like really?

Review 67:Insane location, 50m from the Lake where you can use for free the kayaks provided by the owner. Owner is really helpful and friendly. The studios/apartments are well conceived and comfy. Walking path to Annecy (1h-1h30) next to. Drive is only 10min.

Review 68:Luckily met by Marc 1/2 hour before check in -in the car park otherwise we wouldn't have got in because he runs 3 other residences in the area. he asked us to run to the room so he could let us in. no introduction or anything. No Wi -fi connection passwords, No TV for 5 hours, Not shown how heating worked so was like a sauna for hours and overnight was baking. Toilet seat was 'well worn' in places and stained

Review 69:Just 4km from Annecy

Review 70:The owner was very accommodating for our 2 dogs and placed us in a different apartment to the one booked so we would have a more private garden. The room was well sound proofed, well equipped and clean.

Review 71:Nothing, all great!

Review 72:Ideally located, near the lake and near the cycle track. Clean, comfortable and amply spacious apartment for 2 people. Marc was great, really helpful. Being able to use the kayaks was a great extra too!

Review 73:The location is spot on if you want a quiet break although you will need a car or a bicycle to go out. The accommodation is basic but nice, kitchen well equipped etc. There are two supermarkets nearby so you can cater for yourself easily. There are a few places to eat out around Sevrier but we enjoyed eating out in Annecy more. Annecy is fantastic!

Review 74:very small, we only had 2 adults and a young baby, it is advertised for between 1-4 people. The living area inside was very small and not very comfortable seating.

Review 75:The location is fantastic, right next to the lake and right on the traffic free cycle path. Only one hour into the high alps but you don't need to even venture that far to have weeks full of family adventures with the added bonus of having Annecy only a 5km cycle away. The owner and his family were really friendly and super helpful.

Review 76:It was hot and there is no air con or fans. The bed is very small and was against the wall as there is not much room upstairs. Toilet is downstairs off the kitchen.

Review 77:The apartment was well equipped and close to the lake. WiFi was excellent. Washing machine available. Very quiet.

Review 78:Shower needed to be cleaned. The apartment was ideal for family of 4 - not big enough for 6.

Review 79:Friendly owner, use of kayaks, distance to the lake. Open plan accommodation.

Review 80:We loved being there and had no complaints. Depending on the size and nature of your group you might consider the kitchen a little small (2 rings, microwave, but well equipped). There is one toilet and one shower room. The double mezzanine room got quite warm, and you have to walk through it to the twin room.

Review 81:Very smart clean apartment for our group of six in a beautiful place. Small, quiet development in attractive residential area. We traveled to Annecy by train and were able to do lots without a car. Gilles picked us up at the bus stop with our bags and helped us settle in. Sevrier is on West side of the lake, on bus and cycle routes, with amazing views. Just far enough from Annecy to be away from the crowds, but with 2 supermarkets, sports shop, cycle hire and bell museum a short walk away. We were able to use the two small kayaks, kept in the storage area beneath the flat and access the lake from the jetty at the rowing club, just across the quiet road. We were there in a heatwave, but the lake was great to cool down in- very shallow and safe at Sevrier. Helped to have shutters to keep out sun, and use of washing machine. There was WiFi, TV, dishwasher, a small patio. The bed settee was very comfy. There are camp sites nearby but they seemed quite crowded and what with the heat and a huge storm we were glad to be in an apartment. The extra cost was definitely worth it.

Review 82:Marc was very welcoming and helpful. Accomodation modern, clean & comfortable. Wardrobe space could cause access problems as it's under sloping roof but only a minor inconvenience. Easy access to cycle path/walking along lakeside

Review 83:it was too poorly appointed and lacked any real charm or appeal - the furnishings were basic - far too expensive for the accommodation and location

Review 84:the owner is friendly and helpful

Review 85:Relaxed, quiet, friendly and efficient. Super value for money, close to private lake access and many other beaches, plus a lovely township in Annecy .

Review 86:Pets were allowed, though, and we could smell dogs had been there before.

Review 87:It was perfectly clean, and we were asked not to smoke inside (which is a great idea to me) to keep the room healthy and with a nice smell.

Review 88:Annecy traffic (which wasn't L'Aurore du Lac's fault) to and from the apartment during certain hours (not always). Bedding was OK, but space for the whole family to gather was excellent.

Review 89:Marc (the caretaker?) was kind and helpful. We traveled with 6 people (12 years old to 76) so we needed a small kitchen for breakfasts and light dinners, laundry facilities, plenty of hot water for showers, a parking space (which was free), close to Annecy and the walking/biking trails, close to a grocery store. All our needs were met and the price was fair. We also enjoyed the patio.

Review 90:As we were travelling with our dog the little private garden was great. It was nice and quiet and very close to Annecy , all types of sporting activities and great walks.

Review 91:A view would have been nice. And information about the local area - i.e. a map, walking routes, kayak and bike hire

Review 92:The peace and the cooking facilities. and the shower.

Review 93:The set up is very simple. It is 5-6km from Annecy and requires transport. Accomodation is specious and very, very clean. If you are for any outdoor sport it is right place to be. Marc is great host and very helpful. Highly recommended.

Review 94:Beds were small and pillows very uncomfortable.

Review 95:Excellant location, close to cycle track and almost on lakeside. Supermarket and shops close by. Everything closed on Sunday! Great value for the money. Free use of canoe.

Review 96:cupboard space. Cooking facilities ie oven. No fan

Review 97:Good basic exceptionally clean accommodation. It was exceptionally hot and rooms were very hot but this is more a consequence of extreme heat, . Very clean and modern accommodation. No proper oven but possibly ok if you read the instructions for the microwave oven. Close to lake but only a base on a small jetty to sit on and small area of grass or public beach (free) 400m away. Excellent stay in all. Not much cupboard space!

Review 98:It was further from the town than i had expected. It really is too far to walk into Annecy town centre. We drove into town and found places we could park. But you would not walk into town and then walk home again after your dinner. There is a boat which was 12 euro ( a good price ) but it took about 2 hours!!! There were how ever, lots of french eating places within walking distance and because they were out of town they were less busy and less expensive.

Review 99:The duplex apartment had everything we needed. It was basic but very clean and tidy and the owner was very kind and helpful. We were able to bring our dog with us and it was only a few metres walk down to the lakeside which was lovely. It is in a very quiet residential area, unlike many of the tourist hotels in the main town. Therefore we were able to park right outside.

Review 100:They need to replace the towels with new ones as they are very tired.

Review 101:We were very satisfied with our stay. It was simple but very comfortable. We found the manager Marc to be delightful. He was very friendly and was so helpful after a minor crisis over a lost back pack. He went out of his way to do all that he could, and he showed genuine concern for our loss. We would recommend L'Aurore du Lac highly

Review 102:The very obvious fact that a number of previous guests had smoked in theroom despite the fact it was advertised as a non-smoking room. This one negative far outweighed the positives

Review 103:Location, free internet, kayaks and laundry facilities.

Review 104:its not easy to find unless you have a gps tracker in your car (which i did and it was fine). no internet on the day you leave even though its 10am which was a bit disappointing.

Review 105:Well situated near the lake, mountain walks, and close to shops. very peaceful and quiet location. Nicely appointed room (I had a studio) and perfect for one or a couple if you want to use it as a base for visiting the area. it nice to have a kitchenette and perfect if you want to heat something up or have tea/coffee at your leisure but not really for cooking big meals (has a hot plate and microwave oven only). Internet connection is fast although its not wireless but thats not a problem as the cable is long. The owner marc is very nice and accomodating for flexible arrival times but check out is strictly 10am.

Review 106:The owner of these apartments is warm and friendly - the apartments themself although are not huge are very well equipped and absolutely immaculate - we would recommend these apartments to anyone.

Review 107:The spare beds were very uncomfortable, we had to sleep on the floor. The hot water system is only 100l so it was not enough for more than amorning shower for 3.

Review 108:Clean friendly and functional, close to the lake and fully equipped.

Review 109:Television needed binoculars. Supply of utensils only adequate.

Review 110:Quiet. Location good blend of urban and rural.

Review 111:Minor things only; no light switch near bed etc.

Review 112:Good kitchen, honest description, comfortable homely feel.

Review 113:The blankets need cleaning.

Review 114:Space, light, kitchenette - well equipped, location, enough parking, close to many shopping facilities.

Review 115:It's just a place to stay all night.

Review 116:It's good to walking alone the lack. the location is near the lack.

Review 117:Trying to figure out how the grill / microwave worked.

Review 118:Nice fresh little apartment.

Review 119:peace and quite, location

Review 120:Hot water ran out after washing up and two showers in the morning!

Review 121:The Location

Review 122:bathroom/wc in lounge!

Review 123:peaceful

Review 124:The owner was very welcoming

Review 125:Very bad facilities.

Review 126:This is a bad hotel.

Review 127:Quite difficult to find initially

Review 128:Apartment was clean and it wasn't cramped.

Review 129:Modern and clean apartment, great location and friendly efficient staff. Very welcoming.

Review 130:Emplacement superbe, confort, sobriété.

Review 131:The manger and the location
